[narrator] As research fellows for the Cerise Laboratory,

Ash and Goh traveled to the Galar region to uncover the mysteries of Dynamax.

But they were separated in the Slumbering Weald,

where they each encountered a mysterious Pokémon!

Then, Pokémon began Dynamaxing and rampaging uncontrollably!

Ash teamed up with Leon to stop them…

…while Goh and Sonia searched for clues about the legend of the two heroes.

Meanwhile, Chairman Rose has been attempting to restore a Pokémon

that once posed a dangerous threat to Galar.

Just what is Rose after?

Finally, as Goh and Sonia investigated an ancient mural,

they were suddenly confronted by a mysterious agent.

But then…

-[gasps] -I can’t believe it!

When I tried to catch it, my Poké Ball passed right through it.

And then the fog got really thick! All of a sudden, I fell asleep…

Maybe that’s why they call it the Slumbering Weald.

Then what?

When I finally woke up, the Pokémon was gone.

That must have been so strange.

What’s this?

Looks like their names.

[Sonia] The one with the sword in its mouth is Zacian.

And it says the one holding up the shield is Zamazenta.

It’s starting to make sense!

The legendary hero is really two heroes!

And each of them had a Pokémon helping them.

And they were Zacian and Zamazenta!

Long ago, when the black vortex was seen in the sky,

it was called The Darkest Day.

And its influence was what brought Galar to the brink of destruction!

But the two heroes, partnered with Zacian and Zamazenta,

were able to avert disaster.

That pretty much sums it up.

[man] Good. They’re still here! This time, we’re taking you in!

They don’t give up!

Now what?

Only one choice!

[Sonia shouts]

The legend says the heroes averted the Darkest Day

so it’s possible Zamazenta or Zacian will help us now!

Anyway, that’s what Sonia and I are thinking.

And you already know about how Pokémon are suddenly starting to Dynamax

and rampaging.

[Goh] If our theory is correct, then it’s all because of the Darkest Day.

Which means it’s probably been restored and is somewhere around here.

[Ash groans]

[Goh] If nothing is done, then Galar will come to the brink of disaster again!

[woman ] Emergency! Halt the Galar particles injection!

[man ] We’ll never make it in time!

So that may be the location of the Darkest Day!

If they get hit with that light, more Pokémon may start rampaging!

Galar’s energy will be depleted.

I had been thinking long and hard about this problem,

when I came to the realization that Galar particles could be used

as a new energy source.

Galar particles?

That’s right. I realized one more thing.

Eternatus generates limitless Galar particles.

It’s the Pokémon of my dreams!

But at the end of each beam, Pokémon Dynamax.

And then they start to rampage!

A very troubling occurrence.

And for that very reason, I find talented Trainers like yourself

and help you advance.

Yes, and now you will catch the revived Eternatus,

and then you will work hard to learn how to control it!

Then it will do what I command!

Now what, Goh?

If this sword and shield belonged to Zacian and Zamazenta

they may contain hidden powers.

And somehow that may help out with stopping the Darkest Day.

by digging in the ground to find energy from earlier times.

And then came the tragedy of an accident, and he never returned.

But that’s in the past.

Too great a loss for a young boy.

But with Eternatus, we can have unlimited energy.

No child will suffer that loss again!

You see? I’m truly looking ahead to Galar a thousand years from now!

You know I discovered you as a child and mentored you,

and it was all for this moment!

At this point, I refuse to take no for an answer to my request.

Then I will catch Eternatus.

There has already been great loss!

I don’t want to see any more tragedy!
