and it has a layer of down that keeps out the cold.

So weird. I wonder where that Piplup came from.

Truly. And I'm sure there are good reasons for it.

-I'm home! -[Cerise] Oh. Hi, Chloe!

Why are you all hanging around here?

We seem to have found a wayward Piplup.

-[Ash gasping] -Pika?

We can finally catch Pikachu, its Twerpy crew,

and the race Pokémon, too! Whoo-hoo!

Pedaling to the Sinnoh region is like pedaling to a different planet!

We need a booster rocket! [whimpers]

We're still accepting entries for the Pokémon Iceberg Race!

[woman's voice] Croagunk, the Toxic Mouth Pokémon.

A Poison and Fighting type.

Croagunk inflates the poison sacs in its cheeks to make croaking sounds.

If an opponent flees, it attacks with poison.

It wanted to come along because it was so worried about Piplup.

[shrieking]

-[croaks] -[chuckles]

[shrieking continues]

Croagunk, Croagunk!

[all gasping]

[Ash] Who's that Pokémon?

-Pika? -Piplup.

Whoa, look at those sparks flying between them!

I wonder... Maybe Croagunk has something to do

with why Piplup disappeared in the first place.

Lauren, do you have any idea why Piplup disappeared?

Who knows? I don't really understand it myself.

I think it all started about a year ago when we first met.

It was when my glasses fell into the sea.

You see, I first met Croagunk a month ago.

And suddenly we were spending time together

and enjoying something special.

-Croagunk. -[laughs]

-[croaking] -[shrieking]

[grunting]

-[coos] -[scoffs]

-[croaking] -[shrieking]

-[Piplup grumbling] -Incredible!

You're even faster than Piplup!

-Croagunk! -[gasping]

[crying]

[gasps] Piplup, wait!

And that was that.

Of course!

Piplup wants you to think its swimming is as fast as swimming gets!

But Piplup lost to Croagunk.

Maybe it swam all the way to Vermilion City

as a kind of special training to beat Croagunk.

It even swam in our lab.

[gasps] Really, Piplup?!

-Pika? -Um, Piplup?

Piplup!

-[chirps] -Those are Iceberg Race entry stickers!

Is Piplup challenging its rival Croagunk to decide who's best?!

-Ha, ha! -[Lauren gasps]

All I want is for everyone to live together happily.

The entry deadline's near!

Any Pokémon that wants to get in should do it now!

Oh, that's right! I wanted Mantyke to enter the race, too! [panting]

Pokémon will swim from one iceberg to another and then back!

But they'll have to watch for numerous smaller pieces of ice

that are sure to be in the way!

This will be our toughest race in years!

So which Pokémon competitor will be taking home the trophy?

[blowing bubbles]

[announcer] We can now see the Chinchou lights marking the course!

And we're just about to start!

Oc! [blows]

-[announcer] And they're off! -Bibarel!

-Horsea! -[Finneon chirps]

[announcer] In first place is the second-place finisher from last year,

then last year's winner, Piplup, followed by a new entrant, Croagunk!

All right, Empoleon! Keep it up and you're gonna win!

[crying] I don't know who I'm supposed to be cheering for!

[announcer] Leading the chasing pack is Mantyke

with Horsea and Finneon hot on its tail!

Oh, look! Pikachu's almost out of it!

[gasps]

[announcer] Soon the contestants will reach the icebergs

that mark the return lap!

Empoleon's still in first!

But at this moment... Look!

Piplup and Croagunk are making their moves!

They've passed Empoleon!

[yells] Don't let them beat you, Empoleon!

do your best, both of you!

[all cackling]

[Jessie and James grunt]

Prepare for trouble from the evil, metallic belly of the beast!

To extend our reach to the stars above!

Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!

Surrender now or prepare to fight, fight, fight!

Team Rocket! Why do you ruin everything?!

If it's for the boss, we'll make a mess and never clean it up!

Then save face by catching Pikachu and everyone in the Iceberg Race!

Those jerks are messing up the whole Iceberg Race!

It looks like things have gotten desperate out there on the course.

But the top two, Piplup and Croagunk, are still battling it out

as they make a straight line for the finish!

[screams] What in the world is going on?!

[grunting, screeching]

Pikachu, Iron Tail on the net!

[cheering]

-Twerp manners! -You won't get away!

[both] All right. Come on down!

[singing]

[Goh] Huh? Is it my imagination or are Piplup and Croagunk

actually getting along for a change?

[narrator] The Iceberg Race may have been canceled,

but Ash and Goh had a brief encounter

with the people and Pokémon of Snowpoint City!

Now they're headed back across the sea where another adventure awaits!
