Well, it's actually a mobile movie projection system

and a bunch of movie reels.

Why're you carrying around a movie projector?

Most of the little towns and villages around here

are just too small to have a movie theatre in them.

But the people who live in these out-of-the-way places

love movies just as much as anyone else.

So for a couple of years I've been traveling around

carrying this equipment with me

and showing movies to them.

That's great!

What movie are you gonna show 'em this time?

The latest "Plusle and Minun" movie.

It's called "Plusle and Minun and The Princess Rescue."

I love "Plusle and Minun!"

I'd love to see that movie!

Well, I'll be showing it tomorrow night in the town

by ourselves all the time.

lugging around some movie-goin' type stuff.

his favorite movie on TV one day.

which he'll love for sure!

The Camerupt?

MEOWTH The perfect Pokémon for moving around

all of the Boss's big rocks!

I don't recall ever hearing anything

about him having a lot of rocks.

Yeah, I made that up.

But everyone knows the Boss loves riding Camerupts

in the moonlighty night!

I've never heard that one either.

I thought he liked riding in sports cars.

A Camerupt is a sports car with two humps.

You gotta argue everything?

the group crosses fierce rivers

Here's a letter I received about a month ago

It's been almost a year since you were here

but I still think about the movie you showed us.

"The Pichu Brothers" were so funny.

Of course, most of us haven't seen

any other movies since then

so we still talk about it and everyone wonders

what movie you'll bring with you this year.

maybe you can understand why I'm willing to cross rivers

and climb mountains to get movies to them no matter what.

I realize that most people have televisions these days

but seeing a show on the big screen

is still kinda special, right?

Now that you mention it

I saw a movie right before I started my journey.

It was about a bunch of people traveling together

kinda like we are now.

Not bad, I can remember the last movie I saw

right before I left home too.

I took my little brother and sister to this movie

about the Old West.

The town Sheriff was a Snorlax

that was battling it out with these villains.

That was the best Western I've ever seen.

I went with my whole family to see a science fiction once.

These evil aliens took over a Meowth

and then quadrupled it size

and it was destroying the whole city.

They tried sending in the Marshtomp air force

with the Pichu brothers

but their attacks didn't do anything.

Then it turned out the Marshtomp were actually

superheroes from another planet!

So they quadrupled in size too

and finally destroyed the Meowth monster.

That movie was like all good parts.

Didn't you love it too, May?

Yeah, that was a pretty good action flick.

But I have to say that my favorite

was the one I went to all by myself one day.

Really?

MAY It takes place in space

with this beautiful, luxurious spaceship

that sets off to cross the Milky Way.

On board are a Natu and Xatu

who are really in love.

But then the giant spaceship collides

with a huge ice asteroid

and it breaks apart and starts to sink!

MAX It's a space ship, but it sinks?

MAY Yes, so then, the two young lovebirds

are tragically torn from each others' grasp

never to see each other again.

The end. It was so romantic.

Hey, did you guys ever act like

the characters in the movies, for fun?

Oh, yeah, I still play cops and robbers

with my little brothers and sisters sometimes.

I used to do that too.

MAX Sometimes mom would sing songs

and then we'd try to guess which movie they were from.

And we always used to stop for ice cream

on the way home from the theater.

Us too!

And then we'd always talk about the movie

we just saw all the way home.

So obviously, for all of us the movie is just a part of it.

Who you go to see it with and everything else

about that film also become part of your memories.

Never thought of it like that.

Elijah, can you tell us the story

in the new "Plusle and Minun" film

that you're carryin' around?

Yeah. I can do better than that.

I can read you the actual narration just like I do

when the movie's up there on the screen.

So this is a narrated movie, then?

That's right.

What's that mean?

Well, back before movies had sound

they often had a narrator who would

read the parts of each character.

Right, those were called silent movies.

Now you got me really wantin' to go see this movie.

to rescue Princess Kirlia!

There inside the dark castle.

Our heroes boldly confronted

the evil ringmaster Exploud.

Jess, shouldn't we be stealing instead of watching?

Shh.

Here comes the best part of the movie.

ELIJAH Having cleverly destroyed

the evil Exploud and the castle

Plusle and Minun rescued Princess Kirlia

and returned to the Pokémon forest

where they lived happily ever after.

ELIJAH The end.

[cheering]

NARRATOR At last the children of the village were able

to watch the movie they had waited so long to see.

And in the process of creating that happy memory for others

Ash and friends made a happy memory for themselves as well.

Something they'll carry with them on their journey.

JESSIE [crying]

It's okay, we'll get them next time.

Oh, that movie had such a beautiful ending.

Princess Kirlia seemed so happy.

Plusle and Minun were happy too!

JAMES I'd hate to see how you two handle a sad ending.
