05x16 - Bulbasaur... the Ambassador!

Post by bunniefuu »

male narrator: With lots
of excitement behind them,

our heroes continue
their journey to Ecruteak City

unaware of the excitement
right in front of them.

- Whoa!

- Hey, stop those milk cans!

- [panting]

- Huh? They're empty.

- Pika!

- Thanks for the help.

These things are trouble.

So where are you kids
heading to?

Into town? The beach?

- Ecruteak City.

- Why don't you hop in.
I can get you there in no time.

- Huh?

- [singing]
Pokémon!

- No time to question
my moves

I stick to the path
that I choose

Me and my friends
are gonna do it right

You'll never see us
run away from a fight

To be a master
is my dream

All I've got to do
is believe

- I believe

- I've got a chance
to win

I'm on my way
to victory

- Pokémon!
- I can be a champion

If I just believe

I'm on a master quest

- Master quest

- I want the whole world
to see

- I believe

- I'm gonna be
the very best

'Cause all I've got to do
is believe in me

- Pokémon!

- This blimp will drop us
at the MooMoo Ranch.

- Oh, that's right next
to Ecruteak.

It'll save us a ton of time.

- And a ton of walking.

- Togepi.

- Thanks a lot, mister.

- Call me Carter.

Let me go
pick up the tickets

and then I'll meet
all of you inside.

- Great.

- Professor Oak?
It's Ash calling.

Hello? Are you there?

What's going on?

- Mime!
- Ah! Mr. Mime.

- Who is it, Mimey?

- Mime.
- Well, hello there, Ash.

- Mom.
- I'm so glad you called.

How are you, honey?

- I'm doing okay.

But what're you two doing
at Professor Oak's laboratory?

- I don't want
to worry you, dear,

but there has been some trouble
in the research gardens.

- Huh? What kind of trouble?

- Is everything all right?

- Hey, what's up, guys?

- Tracey.
- Oh, what do you know?

I was just thinking of you.

I'll be needing your assistance
on a very important matter.

- Sure thing, Professor.
What is it?

- Well, Ash, you're familiar
with the numerous wild Pokémon

who are allowed to roam free

in the gardens
of my research facility.

- Uh, yeah.

- All different types:
Grass, Water, Fire, Rock.

All come to the gardens to live
in peace and tranquility.

Until last week.

That was when a g*ng of Hoppip,
Skiploom, and Jumpluff

stopped off here
on one of their migrations.

- Soon, they began feuding
with some Bellossom

over an area previously
inhabited by Grass Pokémon.

And then Water Pokémon,
worried about their area,

entered the fray.

- Before long, we had a
three-sided battle on our hands.

- That sounds like a mess,
Professor.

- Bulba.
- Pika.

- That's why I need
to ask a favor.

Could I borrow your Bulbasaur
for a while?

- My Bulbasaur?

- Bulbasaur?

- At first we thought of heading
up the peace process ourselves.

But I feel these matters
are always best left

in Pokémon hands.

- So we thought
of your Bulbasaur

and how it used to take care
of lost Pokémon,

and figured that might be able
to help us out here as well.

- Okay, hold on.

Bulbasaur, did you hear that?

So are you up for it?

- Bulba. Bulbasaur.

- Hey, Professor.
You got yourself a deal.

I'll send Bulbasaur over
right away.

- Bulbasaur.

- Good to see you again,
Bulbasaur.

- Hello, there.

- We're counting on you.

- Bulba.

- Bingo.

I spy the three little twerps,
and Pikachu.

Hey, wait.
- What's the matter, Meowth?

- Looks like they're going
on a little trip.

- Then we are too.
Let's sneak onboard.

- Gotcha.

- Wobbuffet!

- Shh.

- Wobbuffet.

- Like they say, you always get
exactly what you pay for.

Or don't pay for.

- Uh, it's like an oven
in here.

Stowaways have it
pretty rough.

- Jessie. James.
both: Hmm?

- I think we should see
what's behind this door.

It's pretty solid.

Could be something
worth swiping.

both:
Oh, all right.

- Hey.
- It's certainly nice and cool.

all: A shivery Shangri-la.

- Wobbuffet.

- [giggling]

- Wobb...

- Heracross.

Heracross.

- Look.
Here comes Ash's Heracross.

- Bulbasaur!

- Looks like all three sides are
gearing up for another fight.

- Yes.

- Saur.

Bulba. Bulbasaur. Saur.

- Oh, look: it seems
Bulbasaur's already trying

to persuade them
to stop fighting.

- Great, way to go.

- Bulbasaur. Saur.
Bulbasaur.

Bulbasaur.

- Jumpluff.

- Bella.

- Bulbasaur.

- Huh?

- Bulbasaur! Bulbasaur!

Saur.

- Jumpluff.

- Poliwhirl.

- That Jumpluff
just used Tackle.

- And Poliwhirl's
using Double Slap.

- Saur. Bulbasaur.

- Bella.

- Poliwhirl.

Poli, Poli, Poli, Poli.

- Bulbasaur.

Bulbasaur.

[all chatter and shout]

- Bulbasaur.
- This is bad.

Marill. Scyther. Venonat.

Break it up.

- Marill.

- Venonat.

- Scyther.

- They're gonna need
extra help, Heracross.

- Heracross.

- Saur.

[all chattering]

- Saur. Bulba. Bulbasaur.

- Looks like Bulbasaur's
solar beam did the trick.

- I'd say they finally
saw the light,

and for our sake
not a moment too soon.

- Bella. Bella.

Bellossom.

- Professor, what dance is that?

- Let's see.
It's quite different

from their usual
petal dance.

- Bellossom. Bella.

- It's really cool.

I've just got to sketch it.

[all exclaiming]

- Bell.

- Looks like they've made
some sort of agreement.

- Hmm.

Over the years I've witnessed
many different types

of Pokémon w*r dances.

- So that would make this
a peace dance?

- Hmm.

This is an amazing discovery.

- Bulba.

- Whirl. Poli.
- Hoppip.

- Poliwhirl. Poli.

- Bulbasaur.

- Uh-oh, the Water and the Grass
Pokémon are at it again.

What are we gonna do

if Bulbasaur can't keep them
from fighting?

- No matter how you look at it,

there's just too many Pokémon
living on this lake.

Maybe building a brand-new lake
would settle the issue

once and for all.

- Saur. Bulbasaur.

- I'm so cold
I can't feel my nose.

- And I'm so cold
I can't feel my toes.

- And I'm so cold
I wish I wore clothes.

- Wobbu...

- I've had enough.
Huh?

Oh, no, how'd the door
get closed?

It won't open.

- Let us out!
Help! Please!

- Wobbuffet.

all: Thanks for the ride,
Carter.

- Pika.

- Take care, kids.

- You too.

- Let's make a break for it.

- I'm trapped
in this cubicle.

- An I'm feeling
most ice-olated.

- Wobbu.

[all scream]

all: Team Rocket's
on thin ice!

- Wobbuffet.

- Really? Bulbasaur needs
to stay even longer?

Why?

- Well, peacemaking
is a tough job, Ash.

The good news is that Bulbasaur
worked wonders

with the Bellossom
and the Jumpluff.

The bad news
is the fierce fighting

between the Water
and Grass Pokémon

continues to rage on.

- Well, since they're fighting
over territory,

we decided to build a new lake
just for Grass Pokémon.

- But until it's built,

I'm gonna need Bulbasaur
on hand to help out.

- I understand.

Bulbasaur, keep up
the good work.

I'm proud of you.

- Bulba.

- Who's that Pokémon?

It's Arbok.

- Okay, Marill.

Let's find them
some water.

- Marill. Marill.

- Well, now, I think it might've
found an underground spring.

- Saur. Bulbasaur!

[all shouting]

- Marill.

- Bulba.

- This location is beautiful.

- Definitely.

- Bulba!

[all gasp]

- Bulba.

Bulbasaur. Saur.

- Bella!
- Jumpluff.

- Bulbasaur.

[all cheering]

- Well, everything seems
to be running smoothly.

At least for now.
- All right.

Now, I'm just gonna get
a quick drawing of this too.

- Saur. Bulbasaur.
Saur. Bulba.

- That rock layer is going to be
difficult to penetrate.

- I'm not sure
that Grass Pokémon

are gonna be able to dig
any deeper than that.

- Bulba...

saur.

- Huh? What?

- Bulbasaur,
where are you going?

- Bulbasaur!

Bulba. Bulbasaur. Saur.

Bulbasaur.

- Poli. Poliwhirl.

Poli, Poli.

- Bulbasaur.

Bulbasaur. Saur. Bulba.

Bulbasaur. Bulbasaur. Saur.

Saur.

- Poliwhirl?

Poli.

- Bulbasaur.

Bulbasaur. Saur.
Bulbasaur. Bulbasaur.

- Slash.

- Bulbasaur.
- Sandslash.

- Why were Poliwhirl
and Sandslash called in?

They're not able to dig through
solid rock, are they, Professor?

- Hmm.

- Bulbasaur. Saur.

- Slash.

all: Poliwhirl.

- Marill.
- Look.

Now Marill's helping out too.

- What in the world
are they doing?

- Bulbasaur.

- Poliwhirl.
- Marill.

- They're using Water g*n.

- Oh, I get it.
- Huh?

- Marill and Poliwhirl
are using Water g*n

to soften that bedrock
for Sandslash.

That way it'll be able to dig.

- Saur.

- Sandslash. Sandslash.

Sandslash. Sandslash.
Sandslash.

- And look, it's working out
perfectly.

Bulbasaur is a Pokémon genius.

- Saur.

[all chatter]

- Time for a lunch break,
everyone.

- Mr. Mime, Mime, Mime.

- Bulbasaur.

Saur.

- Here you go, Bulbasaur.

There's plenty of food for
all of you, so please dig in.

- Mime.

- Bulba.

Bulba, Bulbasaur, Saur.

- Sandslash. Sandslash.

- Bulbasaur.

- Marill.

- There seems to be
a problem.

- Ah.

This time they've found
a giant rock buried in there.

- Oh, brother, what's Bulbasaur
gonna do now?

- Saur.

- Sandslash.

- Bell...

- Poli.

- Sandslash.

- Poliwhirl.

[all straining]

- Shouldn't we try
to help, Professor?

- No, sir.
- What?

- This a problem that the
Pokémon must solve on their own.

- Yeah, but...

- He's right.
All of those Pokémon

who have been battling
each other for days

are now working together
to solve a problem.

- Oh, yeah. Now I see.

- Bulbasaur.

- [gasps]
- It's moving.

- Saur. Bulba.

Bulba. Bulbasaur.

- Sandslash. Sandslash.
Sandslash.

Sandslash.

Slash. Sandslash.

- Hmm?
- Now that's very odd.

Sandslash is running away
from something.

- Water.
- That's right.

Sandslash do hate water,
after all.

- Bulbasaur.

- [chattering]

- Huh?

Saur.

Saur.

- Hmm?

Huh?

Huh?

Bulbasaur.

- Ready?

One, two, three.

Push!

- Where's Bulbasaur?
- Hey, Bulbasaur!

- Huh?

- Bulbasaur!

Bulba.

- How are you, Bulbasaur?
You feeling okay?

- Did you injure anything?

- Saur.

- I was so worried.

- It must have avoided the rock

by quickly burrowing
underground.

- Bulba. Bulbasaur.

Bulbasaur!

Bulba.

- [cheers]
- Bulba...

saur.

- You know, Professor,
I didn't think Bulbasaur

were capable
of learning Dig.

- Yes, it's interesting.
- Huh?

- Remember this:
there are times, in a crisis,

where we are able
to call upon skills

we never even knew
we possessed.

- It's amazing.

- Good job, Bulbasaur.

- Pika, Pika.
- All right.

- We finished the lake.

The Pokémon were pleased
with the results.

And the battles over land
finally came to an end.

But then they started again.

- As soon as Bulbasaur left

they went right back
to arguing again.

- So Bulbasaur had to step in
once more,

and only then did the Pokémon
stop fighting.

You can see how much respect
the other Pokémon have for it.

- Wow. That's fantastic,
Bulbasaur.

- Bulba.

- So, Ash, I have a small favor
to ask.

Would it be possible
to keep Bulbasaur here

just a little longer?

- Huh?

[sighs]

- Pika.

- Oh, Ash.

- That's a tough one.

- I know.

- I know you're gonna
miss it, Ash,

but we could never
get the Pokémon here

to get along
without Bulbasaur.

- Yeah, you're right.

What do you think,
Bulbasaur?

- Bulba.

Bulbasaur.

- Really?

All right, then.

I'm gonna miss you,

but this is much more
important.

Professor,
take good care of it.

- We certainly will.

- Thanks for helping us out,
Ash.

- Bulbasaur, good luck, pal.

- Bulba.

- I'm on a master quest

- Pokémon

- I'm on a master quest

- Pokémon

narrator: By loaning
Bulbasaur to Professor Oak,

Ash made a sacrifice for
the good of Pokémon everywhere.

But will Bulbasaur's absence
hurt Ash in his next gym battle?

We'll find out.

- Well, there goes
Bulbasaur.

- Off to make
its morning rounds.

- Bulbasaur.

Bulbasaur.

Bulbasaur. Bulba.

Saur.

Bulbasaur.
