I brought some friends
for a visit!

[chuckles]

[all murmuring]

Yesterday you tried

- I'm going up the hill
to train with Miltank!

- When Miltank starts
at the top of the hill,

it makes its Rollout Attack
even stronger.

- Look at it go!

wins every match.

and Pikachu too!

- Milton, we're being attacked!

Get all the Miltank and run!

- Everything's going
exactly the way we planned it!

- Now let's grab those Miltank!

- If we run away,
they'll get away!

- Cyndaquil,
we got to stop that barrel!

- Cyndaquil!

- Cyndaquil, Tackle Attack
on its left side!

- Quil!

- Good work, Cyndaquil!

[all groaning]

- Okay, Totodile, I choose you!

- Totodile!

- Totodile, dig some ditches
with your Water g*n Attack!

- [gurgling]

- Meowth, we can't steer
this thing!

- I just figured we'd roll
straight down the hill.

- Then straight downhill
we go!

Those ditches knocked
Team Rocket's big barrel

off course, and now they're
stopped dead in their tracks!

- Totodile!

- [groaning]

- Pika?

- James, what are you doing?

- Offhand, I'd say I'm ruining
any chance we had

of catching a pokémon.

- Wobbuffet!

- Just when you think things
can't get worse, they do.

- Jessie, I think
you better think again.

- Hmm?

- Much worse!

- Do you think
we'll get shocked?

- Currently, yes.

- Wobbuffet!

- All right, Pikachu,
Thunderbolt Attack!

- Pikachu!

[electricity zapping]

- We're blasting off again!

if'n there's any way

- Ash is winning!

- Ash knew what he was doing

First he had Cyndaquil
tire out Miltank.

Then Totodile
dug a bunch of ditches

to slow it down
and knocked it off balance.

When Pikachu got under it
and flipped it up,

all they had to do
was zap Miltank

with a Thunderbolt!

That ditch-digging worked
on Team Rocket,

so Ash used it on Miltank!

- [singing]
Pokémon Johto!

Pokémon Johto!

- Miltank, are you okay?

- Mila.

- Whitney, how's Miltank?

- Pikachu?

- Miltank just needs a rest.

But I need
to give you something, Ash.

- Huh?

- It's the Plain Badge.

It's yours.

- But don't you
have to win a match at a gym

to win a gym badge?

- The gym isn't
what's most important, Ash.

Whitney knows a pokémon gym
is just a building.

What's most important is,

you beat a gym leader's
top Pokémon fair and square.

Right, Whitney?

- That's right, Uncle Milton.

- In that case, I'll take it.
