Post by bunniefuu »

- Previously on The Amazing Race.

Six teams set out from the Makadikadi pans in Botswana

and raced to the Khwai river.

- Let's do it, baby, come on.

- [Narrator] Uchenna and Joyce hit their stride

on the detour.

- Look at that.

There she goes.

Good job, sweetie.

- [Narrator] While others got tripped up milking goats.

- I want you to hold the goat.

[goat bleats]

- Stop it, seriously.

- [Narrator] Teams enjoyed a scenic drive

through the African Bush.

- Houston, we have an elephant.

- [Amber] That is amazing.

- [Narrator] But Lynn and Alex broke down.

- The car's done, we're screwed.

- [Narrator] Then got a flat.

- [Lynn] Watch out for that stick.

Oh my God.

Honey, oh my God.

This is a rough day.

- [Kelly] You gotta catch up.

- [Narrator] Tensions between Ron and Kelly.

- [Kelly] Hurry, Ron.

- [Ron] Shut up, I'm doing it as fast as I can.

- [Narrator] Turned into name-calling.

- [Kelly] Piece of trash redneck.

- Uchenna and Joyce made a costly mistake.

- You did not complete the roadblock correctly

and you need to go back and finish it.

- We gotta go all the way back.

- That could be costly.

- [Narrator] And Meredith and Gretchen

missed their final clue.

- [Phil] You need to go back and get your clue,

and then I can check you in.

- Come on, let's go.

- [Narrator] Opening the door for last place

Brian and Greg.

- [Brian] Come on, Greg, go.

There we go. - [Greg] That was cake.

Phil's gonna see us and be like,

"There's no way we can eliminate these guys."

- [Narrator] But in the end, even their outfits

couldn't save them.

- I'm sorry to tell you, you've both been eliminated

from the race.

- At least went went out in style, brother.

- [Narrator] Now, five teams remain.

Who will be eliminated next?

[suspenseful music]

[music continues]

[music continues]

[music continues]

[suspenseful music]

This is Khwai village.

Home to a community of Bushmen in Northern Botswana,

and at the edge of the village, Khwai river lodge.

This safari camp was the seventh pit stop

in our race around the world.

Teams arrived here at the end of the last leg

for a mandatory rest period.

Will the increasing tension between Ron and Kelly

affect their momentum?

And can retired couple, Meredith and Gretchen

continue to b*at the odds and stay in the race?

Rob and Amber, who were the first to arrive at : PM

will depart at : AM.

[paper tearing]

- Fly to Lucknow, India.

- [Narrator] Teams must now fly more than , miles

to Lucknow, India.

[upbeat Indian music]

When they land, they must make their way

to a religious palace called Bara Imambara

and search for the area known as the Bouli,

where they'll find their next clue.

Teams have been given tickets to Mumbai, India,

but must arrange their own flight from Mumbai

to Lucknow, India.

To begin their journey teams must sign up

for a charter flight to Francistown, Botswana,

leaving the next morning.

- India.

- Ooh.

- [Amber] We have $.

We're off.

- This is the point in the race where things

are gonna start to get tougher.

You got five teams left now,

and they're all really strong teams.

One little mistake could be the end of you,

so it's really important that Amber and I stay focused

if we want to make it to the end.

- Appreciate it. - Thank you very much.

- Fly to Lucknow, India.

We have $.

Let's go.

- [Ron] Kelly and I sat down and talked a lot about,

you know, what's gone on the last couple of legs,

so we're just trying to do what we can

to make the communication work out more smooth.

- [Kelly] Every couple has their little spats,

and so Ron and I both have to work on communicating better

when the stress level gets high if we wanna win this race.

- This is going to be horrendous.

- What do they have in store?

Lucknow, India.

Okay, cool, let's go.

- [Uchenna] Joyce and I have found a groove working together

that is gonna be instrumental in us getting that

million bucks at the end.

It's gonna be instrumental for us to keep

that type of harmony as we move forward in our life.

- Walking in the rain with the one I love.

[both chuckle]

- That's nice to hear you say that.

- [Lynn] Fly to Lucknow, India.

let's. Go.

- Oh, India. - India.

I think this race is bringing Alex and I

much closer together.

Every day we have to deal with so much adversity,

and I know it's a big cliche,

but adversity brings you closer together.

- We're always shocked at how good we can do as a couple.

- We are so amazing.

- That's a big cliche.

- [Lynn] That is awesome.

- [Alex] India. - [Lynn] Oh, yeah.

- Fly to Lucknow, India.

- India. [laughs excitedly]

Meredith and I, we never dreamed we would make

this many legs of the race.

And now that competition is just like ferocious lions.

And although they're nice to our face,

we know that they don't care if we're knocked off or not.

So we've gotta do what we can to eliminate

these other people.

- We all got on the same flight.

Now we don't wanna break a hip.

[suspenseful music]

- Say goodbye to Africa.

- Adios, Africa.

- Wow.

Interesting looking thing.

- It's really got that Indiana Jones thing going.

- I know.

- Oh, our bags are already on.

Thank you.

[uplifting music] [engine roaring]

- [Lynn] Alex and I had never been

on a little tiny Cessna before.

It was actually an amazing experience.

We got to see Botswana as we flew over it.

- [Uchenna] It looks like the postcard Africa.

It's so beautiful.

I mean, Texas has a big, big sky, but wow,

you gotta see Botswana.

- [Narrator] All teams are now making their way

to Lucknow, India through Mumbai.

Their first stop is Francistown, Botswana.

[suspenseful music]

- We're here.

- Francistown airport.

There's the sign.

- [Meredith] Let's go to pick up our tickets.

- [Gretchen] Yeah.

- [Rob] We need to pick up our tickets to go to Mumbai.

- [Amber] We had arranged tickets.

- Okay, then can you give me an hour

so that I issue the tickets?

- [Amber] Yes.

- Okay, thank you, ma'am.

- [Worker] You're welcome.

- [Alex] Do you have a cellphone that you could let me

borrow for like, five seconds?

- [Lynn] We just need to call a travel agent.

- This one.

.

Hi, this is Alex.

I'm doing great, I actually have a lot of flights

that I need to book, so I was wondering if you could

help me with that.

- [Lynn] Rob's totally looking out the window. [laughs]

- Okay, I'm finished with the tickets to Bombay.

- No, no, can we just leave the tickets for five minutes?

Don't worry about this right now.

- And let us do our thing real quick

and then we'll get back to this.

- Because the other teams are gone, and we wanna look.

- I just really need to get from Mumbai and to Lucknow,

India as fast as possible.

- [Lynn] What's Rob doing in there behind the computer?

They're all behind the counter.

Looking at the computer.

- Bombay and Mumbai is the same, yeah?

- Yes. - Okay.

We have from here to Bombay, we have that.

- We need Bombay to?

- To Lucknow.

- So let me see.

- When he was up in the front, he was trying to shave

everybody off.

- He's trying to block everybody.

- Leaving Mumbai at : AM, a short stop over in Delhi

and getting into Lucknow at : AM.

I need to book six tickets.

- So at : AM, and it gets in at : AM.

- [Worker] Yes.

- What about this one?

For :, connecting through Delhi.

- It arrives at half past nine.

- It arrives earlier.

Should we try to get on that one instead?

It gets in five minutes earlier.

- Oh, I hear you.

- [Rob] We need to have four tickets.

Can we do it now though before the other teams come back?

- I understand, no problem.

- Thank you.

- Thank you.

Bye-bye.

- [Lynn] So it's a go?

- It's a go.

- Gretchen and Meredith are on it too?

- [Alex] Yes. - Good.

Tell her not to help any other teams.

- We're competing. - And we don't want them

to use your phone.

Fabulous.

- So's how you play the game.

- If they come here and want to make

the same booking as yours?

- Say no.

No, please.

Tell them that you can't do it at this time.

If they say why not just point to me,

and don't worry about it.

I'll smile right at them.

[all laughing]

- Come on, just come on, just come on, before you-

- You want your ticket, you gotta pay for it.

- Okay, we gotta go pay for our ticket.

You guys are on the flight.

- Are we okay?

- [Lynn] You're on the flight with us.

- God bless you.

- [Lynn] Yeah, no problem.

- Why are you doing this for us?

- [Lynn] Because we want you guys in the finals with us,

and that's really the bottom line.

- [Meredith] Thank you very much.

- Absolutely.

[suspenseful music]

- [Ron] This is gonna make us a target with everybody

that's left in the group because nobody really likes

Rob and Amber.

They're definitely manipulative as anyone

I've ever met in my entire life.

We gotta cut it off and quit talking to them.

- Yeah, but at the same time you have to keep

your enemies closer.

- Our relationship with Ron and Kelly is definitely

one of mutual respect and friendship towards each other.

So we're working together, but make no mistake about it,

Amber and I are in this to win it.

[ethereal music]

- [Ron] Kelly and I are minimizing the amount of tension

that we've had between us.

We're doing very, very well.

I think that we're gonna be one of the last teams left.

- [Kelly] When Ron and I were not winning,

we were everybody's friend.

And now that Ron and I are starting to win first and second

a lot, and we're up at the top with Rob and Amber,

nobody's our friend anymore.

- [Amber] It's obvious to see that nobody wants to be with

Rob and I, or nobody wants to be with Ron and Kelly

'cause they see us as the front runners of the race.

[suspenseful music]

- Off to India we go.

[music continues]

- [Narrator] All teams are now on their way

to Lucknow, India, with a stop in Mumbai.

[intense music]

- [Rob] Gate four, counter .

They close the door at :.

So we only got five minutes.

[music resumes]

Hello.

- Alex and I really aren't really sure where

the other teams are.

- Rob and Amber and Kelly and Ron,

we feel like they may know things that we don't know.

- We feel confident that we're gonna at least

get to where we need to go.

- There hasn't been any sharing.

Let's put it that way.

- Except with except Lynn and Alex.

- Lynn and Alex have been very good about sharing

and we've shared back.

- We don't know in what position we'll be there,

but hopefully before Ron and Kelly and Rob and Amber, so.

- The flight doesn't leave till six, and I need a backpack.

- Why don't you check around?

You're a better shopper than I am.

- That would probably be fine.

- This one is .

- Oh, no, we can't.

How much is this?

'Cause we don't have any money.

Oh, that's way too much.

Thank you.

Do you give a senior citizen's discount?

[both laugh]

Thank you.

- [Meredith] Boy, don't you look snazzy.

- [Gretchen] Oh my gosh.

- [Meredith] Huh?

[upbeat music]

- [Narrator] All five teams are now on their way

to Lucknow, India via Delhi.

When they land, they must make their way to this palace

where they'll find their next clue.

[upbeat music]

[intense music]

- We have to go taxi.

- Taxi driver.

- Pre-pay, pre-pay.

- Pre-pay, yeah, they said pre-pay in there.

- How much?

[man speaking in Hindi]

- [Rob] How much is it each?

- [Ron] .

- I need one too.

- Okay, Imambara.

- Who's fast?

- [Amber] Rob, come on, this way.

- It's a race.

- [Amber] We have to hurry, competition.

- Bara Imambara.

[intense music]

- [Ron] Very fast.

Mow them down like grass.

- Okay, hop in.

You speak English, boss?

- [Driver] Yeah.

- [Rob] Follow this guy.

- The only thing I could equate this to

is this is kind like when everyone was trying to get

the heck out of Baghdad because it's being bombed.

- [Kelly] Oh my Gosh. - [Ron] No.

You've gotta be kidding me.

- We're in a hurry.

- We're in a hurry.

You gotta be freaking kidding me.

- You got a lot of gas, huh?

Good job, good driving, all right.

- We're in a race.

We're in a competition.

It passed us.

- [Ron] If it wasn't for bad luck, we'd have no luck at all.

[intense music]

- Come on.

- Now we've gotta find a cab.

Taxi.

- Taxi! - Taxi!

Here, we have to go here?

- Someone gave us good advice on the plane

to go straight to this pre-paid taxi.

- One couple or four people?

- So two have been here before already?

Two of them have been here already.

- [Joyce] Honey, here's one.

They're out there on the other side trying to get

their attention.

- Do the same thing? - Uh-huh.

- [Uchenna] It's crazy outside.

- Oh, we went to the wrong side.

- , he said.

.

- So rupees?

Okay.

- [Worker] rupees.

- rupees.

- We just paid .

- [Gretchen] What in the God's name?

- [Lynn] I have no idea what you're saying.

- [Meredith] They're using a lot of words

I don't know, honey.

- , okay.

Thank you.

- Very fast. - Very fast.

- I paid him , there's another .

[everyone talking]

- Okay.

Very fast.

Bara Imambara.

- For four people. - [Gretchen] What is this?

Oh my God.

- Oh my God.

[suspenseful music]

- [Gretchen] Oh my God. - is his, is ours.

- , , let's go.

- [Lynn] That's .

- [Meredith] Follow this guy, he's got all the money

that he needs.

These other guys are trying to stiff us.

- God!

- [Lynn] Alex, put your bags in here.

[engine revving]

We're in India. - We're in India.

Bara Imambara.

- [Lynn] Please, very fast.

- Bara Imambara.

[men speaking in Hindi]

[engine revving]

- I mean, that was crazy.

- That was pretty crazy.

- Everybody pushing, shoving, yelling.

- Get used to it.

[upbeat music]

- [Narrator] All five teams are now on their way

to Bara Imambara palace where they'll find their next clue.

- [Rob] Yeah, this is it.

- I don't know where we're going.

- Oh, yes sir.

Put the scarf on.

So Amber and I get into the palace

and we gotta put the headdress on

'cause it's custom, you know?

And we're all about the customs.

- No yelling, no running inside.

- Some guy built this for his girlfriend.

- [Amber] Or for himself.

- Imagine if I built you a place.

It'd look twice as nice.

- Thank you.

- [Ron] I'll go with this pretty blue.

- Go with this dark blue.

- Okay, dark.

It's quite beautiful.

- It's quiet and peaceful in the middle of the city of chaos

back there.

- Wow, bicycles, bicycles, bicycles.

- [Joyce] Bicycles everywhere.

- [Uchenna] I'm seeing all men.

The women are not playing a big role in the program here.

- I love driving through this traffic.

It's waking me up, it's exciting.

- I'm scared.

- Oh my God, look at these vehicles.

Meredith, this is unreal.

- [Rob] Oh boy, here we go.

Now we gotta find it.

- [Amber] What are we looking for?

- [Rob] Looking for the clue box.

- [Ron] Hey, Kelly, right here.

Bouli.

- Good eyes.

[intense music]

- [Ron] Whoa.

- There it is, right there.

- Awesome.

[exciting music]

- Make your way by horse-drawn tonga

to the Kohinoor Steel Emporium.

- [Narrator] Teams must now travel by a horse-drawn carriage

known as a tonga, three miles to this Steel Emporium

where they'll find their next clue.

- Caution, yield ahead.

Let's go, baby.

- [Ron] Hey, did y'all find it?

- [Amber] It's down there.

- Come on, we gotta go down.

- All right.

- [Ron] Did it look like anybody's been here yet?

- [Amber] No.

- [Ron] Good.

- Make your way by horse-drawn tonga

to Kohinoor Steel Emporium, but caution, yield ahead.

- [Ron] Rob and Amber could yield us,

but we have to make it there before they do.

- Gotta get to that yield first.

'Cause if they're any type of players at all,

they'd yield us.

I need one of these.

Do know this place?

Steel Emporium.

- Yes.

- It's definitely a new way to travel.

- Let's go.

[intense music]

- Oh, no, I don't want them to yield us.

- I don't want to yield them.

- I don't want them to be able to yield us.

- I think they'll yield Lynn and Alex.

- [Uchenna] Okay, thank you. - [Joyce] Thank you.

Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep.

Me with my Muslim look.

Do I look wrapped up enough?

- [Uchenna] Yes.

You look beautiful.

[suspenseful music]

Let's start to the left.

- [Lynn] I dunno if I told him to wait or not.

I don't have to wear a scarf, do I?

What about this, can I wear this?

- Yes. - Okay.

- [Gretchen] Oh, God.

I wish I had a lot of money to give to these poor people.

Wow, look at it, what we're going through.

This is unbelievable.

- [Uchenna] Oh, there it is, there.

- Only two left.

Make your way to Kohinoor Steel Emporium.

- [Uchenna] Let's go. - [Joyce] Yield ahead.

- Hey, guys.

- Hey, guys.

Hey, guys. - Good luck.

- Thanks, you too, buddy.

- [Lynn] I found it.

Oh, sh.

- [Meredith] Over here, hun.

- Make your way by horse-drawn tonga.

- To Kohinoor Steel Emporium.

- Caution, yield ahead.

- [Gretchen] Caution, yield ahead.

- Who's fast, you fast?

- Back there.

- Okay.

- Kannur Steel?

- Horse-drawn tonga!

Oh, oh, oh.

- Oh, there's a horse-drawn tonga.

- [Lynn] We need to go very fast.

- [Alex] Do you feel like Ben-Hur?

- [Lynn] I don't know who that is.

- Oh my God.

I just hope Amber and Rob don't yield us.

- Get on, hun, around the back.

- Okay.

Go fast, yes.

[suspenseful music]

- Where?

Oh, that's it?

Yeah.

- Wait a minute, there's the steel place right there.

- [Amber] There's the yield mat.

- This is the second of only three yields

on the entire race.

At this specific spot, one team can force any other team

to yield.

Teams can exercise their yield power only once

during the course of the race, so they need to decide

when it's in their best interest to use it.

Any team that's been forced to yield

must turn this hourglass upside down

and wait for the sand to run out before they continue on.

- What do you wanna do?

- Y'all wanna do it or-

- This might not be elimination, that's why I was saying

why chance it?

- We choose not to yield.

- [Rob] If I were in their position,

I'd probably yield them.

Luckily they're not the brightest bulbs

on the Christmas tree.

- We choose not to yield.

- It's a roadblock.

- Roadblock, here.

- Roadblock.

- A roadblock is a task that only one person may perform.

In this roadblock, that person has to search more than

different sized tin boxes for one of containing a clue.

- Who has a lot of patience?

- [Ron] That'd be you. - It's gonna be me.

- That's not you really, but that has to be you for this.

- This takes a lot of patience, I have to do it.

- Okay.

[cars beeping]

[suspenseful music]

- Will you holler if you see one

and I'll holler if I see one?

- Yeah.

[Lynn cheering]

- This is helping us go faster!

- Hey, is that helping?

- [Gretchen] Does he know where we're going?

No, this isn't it.

Where is it?

- There's only gonna be one in per box.

Found one, Kelly.

- Oh.

You found one, are they all together?

- No.

- [Rob] Baby, you got it? - Yeah.

Travel by cycle rickshaw to the area of Aishbagh.

- [Narrator] Teams must now hire a cycle rickshaw

to take them three miles to the area known as Aishbagh.

Once there, they must find this gas station

to receive their next clue.

- Let's go find a, what is it?

- [Amber] Rickshaw.

- [Rob] Rickshaw! - [Amber] Rickshaw!

- [Rob] Bhushan gas service?

Okay, let's go fast though.

- That was great, I found it right away.

- [Rob] You did a good job, baby.

[hammer thudding]

- Come on, baby, move fast.

- Got one, babe.

- [Ron] Got it?

- Find Bhushan gas service.

Cycle rickshaw?

Rob and Amber just follow on everything.

Something always good happens for them.

- Yeah, they have the most unbelievable luck I've ever seen

of anybody in my entire life.

It's unreal.

That's why we should have yielded them.

- [Rob] Ron and Kelly didn't yield us.

Their mistake.

Oh, well.

- [Uchenna] Steel Emporium.

We choose not to yield.

- Roadblock.

Who has a lot of patience?

- I do. - Okay.

- Rob and Amber didn't yield us?

I have no idea why.

We're not going to yield anybody, right?

- Okay. - Okay.

Who has a lot of patience?

- Why don't you do it?

- Okay.

[suspenseful music]

- Steel Emporium, right here.

- [Joyce] Come on, Uchenna!

- Okay.

Find Bhushan gas service.

Okay, let's go.

- Cycle rickshaw, we need a cycle rickshaw.

- [Joyce] They got theirs, honey.

Hurry!

- All right, go for it.

Good luck.

- Alex, where are we going?

- The Bhushan gas service.

- Oh my God, go, go, go!

Thank you, thank you, woo-hoo!

Alex, you kicked ass on that.

- [Gretchen] Oh, brother.

[hammers thudding]

- I got it.

- Honest to God, I honestly.

- [Joyce] All right, all right, all right, all right!

Good job, honey.

Travel by cycle rickshaw to the area of Aishbagh.

- [Uchenna] We gotta find a rickshaw.

- [Gretchen] Oh, no.

Oh, no.

- Let's go.

- No, I'm good.

- Yeah, I'm helping you.

[hammer thudding] [suspenseful music]

- I can be in here for a week.

- [Meredith] Come on, Gretchen!

- [Gretchen] We'll be here all night!

I can't reach those.

- Come on, Gretchen!

- This is unbelievable.

I've gone through several piles of them

and I can't find the clue.

I'm just exasperated.

Give me a hug, honey.

I'm trying so hard.

I don't know where else to look.

It's just not our day, Meredith.

I think I've opened every dog gone box there is.

- [Meredith] Don't give up, honey!

Over here on this side.

- I think they've already been done.

They've been done.

They've been done.

- [Meredith] Don't give up, honey.

- I don't know what to do.

- [Meredith] Poor thing.

- Oh.

- [Meredith] Go, Gretchen!

- Oh my gosh.

Found it.

- Come on, baby.

- It was in a great big one.

[Meredith chuckles]

- All right, open her up.

Travel by cycle rickshaw to the area of Aishbagh.

- Aishbagh?

- Aishbagh.

- Down that way? - Yeah.

- Can you find us a rickshaw?

- Yes.

- [Gretchen] Thank you.

- Aishbagh.

- Thank you very much, you're a kind man.

- You're gonna run?

- I'm coming, I'm coming.

- [Gretchen] Oh, I thought I'd be in there forever.

- You finished it, I'm proud of you.

- [Speaker ] Last push, push.

[Rob and Amber cheer]

- Watch out for the cows.

[cow moos]

- We're headed to a gas station under some bridge.

- [Amber] There, right there.

- How much it costs?

- Money.

- [Kelly] Down here?

- Where?

- Come on, babe, come on, nevermind them.

We know it's under the bridge.

- There's donkey crap all over the place.

Good grief, it stinks.

- [Amber] Bhushan gas service.

This has got to be it.

Everybody's standing around.

Gas service, that's it.

- They're following us.

Detour.

- A Detour is a choice between two tasks,

each with its own pros and cons.

In this detour, teams have to choose what kind of items

they would like to deliver.

The choice, solid or liquid.

In solid, teams make their way nearly one mile

to this cole depot.

Once there, they'll have to smash cole into small pieces

and fill up two burlap sacks until they weigh

a total of pounds.

Then they'll have to use one of these flatbed tricycles

to transport the coal four blocks to this store

where they'll receive their next clue.

It's a physical task, but teams with enough muscle

may finish quickly.

In liquid, teams make their way more than three miles

to this local tea stall, choose a tea cart and push it

yards to this three story office building.

Once inside, teams must search the floors

for five specific employees from a list of

and serve them each one full cup of tea

in exchange for a business card.

Then they must return their cart and five business cards

to the tea stall to receive their next clue.

The task doesn't require strength,

but searching through the crowded offices

could be frustrating and take a long time.

[suspenseful music]

- I think we should do the tea.

I think it'll be quicker.

- You wanna do the tea thing?

That sounds a lot easier than breaking cole.

- [Ron] Y'all wanna take one of these?

- Three miles in one of these?

- We just went probably that far.

- Okay, let's get on this guy.

You know how to go to Loba?

- Yeah.

- [Rob] Okay, let's go.

- [Kelly] Ron. - [Ron] What?

- Come and stay with me.

- Let's get on the cycle rickshaw and get moving.

- No, it'll be slow.

We're gonna get a taxi.

- There's a guy with a thing over there.

I don't even see a car for yards.

Let's get in the thing and let's go.

At least get moving that direction.

- I disagree with that, Ron, but I'll go and do it,

but I make it known, I disagree with it.

We would get in a taxi in three minutes.

This is a bad idea.

- Follow them.

- Oh, I love to wave to the people.

I wish I had things to throw at them.

Oh my God, this is so fun.

This is the way to see the city for real.

- Ow, my butt hurts.

- Uchenna's beeping, honking the horn.

[Uchenna shouting]

We gotta find the Indane Bhushan gas service.

- [Alex] Indane Bhushan gas service.
