- Yeah, it was a lot of fun.

- Hi, guys. - Hi, Angela.

- Hi, Barney, hi, Sarah, hi, Nick.

- Hello.

- What's in the box, Angela?

- Can you guess?

- Oh boy.

I love guessing games.

- Hm.

Is there a toy car in there?

- Try again.

- Is it a doll?

- Nope, that's not it.

- How about an elephant?

Not even a little elephant?

- There's not an elephant in this box, Barney.

- [Barney] Okay.

- We give up.

What's in there?

- Well, let me take him out of the box and I'll show you.

- Take him out of the box?

- Oh, I can't wait to see what it is.

- Wow. - Cool.

- [Barney] Oh, why, it's a little turtle.

- Wow.

Look, he's hiding in his shell.

- Don't be scared, Terry.

You can come on out now.

- His name is Terry?

- That's what our class named him.

My teacher found him here one day

and brought him to the class

so we could learn all about turtles.

- Oh, turtles are very interesting.

Did you enjoy having him in your classroom?

- Yes.

But now it's time to let Terry go.

And my teacher said I could bring him back here

where she found him.

- He'll enjoy being outdoors again.

- Look, he's coming out of his shell.

- So he is. - I guess he's glad


to be out of that box.

- Well, Terry may not live in a box,

but I know a little turtle that does.

Oh boy.

♪ He snapped at a mosquito

- Well, I guess it's time to let Terry go.

- Look, he's gone back in his shell.

- His shell is his own little home

that he can go in and out of whenever he wants.

- That's pretty neat.

- Imagine if you carried your home around with you all day.

- That would be really heavy.

- [Barney] Really.

- [Nick] Look, now he's coming out again.

- [Angela] I think he's ready to go.

- I think you're right.

This is a big park, Angela.

Where did your teacher find him?

- She said she found him near the pond.

- Well, put Terry in the box and let's take him to the pond.

(pleasant music)

Careful.

- Okay, Terry.

It's time to come on out again.

- Oh, I'm sure he's very happy to be back where he belongs.

(leaves rustling)

- Listen.

What's that sound?

- Maybe some other animal already lives here.

- [Barney] Okay.

- Look.

- [Barney] Oh, I wonder, is that a bird?

- [Kids] No, that's not a bird.

- Well, maybe it's...

- [Kids] BJ.

- Hi, guys. - Hi, BJ.

- What are you doing, BJ?

- I'm on a nature hike to see how many animals I can find.

- Oh, did you find any?

- Nope, not even a little bug.

- Well, we know where you can find an animal.

- Wait, nobody move. - Okay.

- I just found an animal.

Look.

Look, it's a turtle.

Sh, and don't scare it away.

(all giggling)

What?

- Well, we were just going to show you the turtle.

- Oh.

- My teacher found him and brought him to class one day.

- And we just let him go.

- Oh.

Well, at least I found one animal today.

- There you go.

Well, if you want to see more animals,

you might try over in the meadow.

- Good idea. - I'm sure

we'll find something. - Oh yeah.

- Okay.

After you. - There they go.

- Boy.

♪ Lived an old mother frog and her little froggy one ♪

♪ Croak, said the mother

♪ I croak, said the one

♪ So they croaked and they croaked in the sand, in the sun ♪

- Oh, look at her go. - Oh, little froggy.

- Very nice.

♪ Lived an old mother fish and her little fishies two ♪

♪ Swim, said the mother

♪ We swim, said the two

♪ So they swam and they swam in the stream so blue ♪

- Swim, swim. - Swimming around.

- Look very cute.

Oh wow.

♪ Over in the meadow, on the branch of a tree ♪

♪ Lived an old mother bird and her little birdies three ♪

♪ Sing, said the mother

♪ We sing, said the three

♪ So they sang and they sang on the branch of the tree ♪

- Tweet, tweet. - Flying away.

- So nice. - Bye-bye.

- Nice job, everybody.

- I wonder if Sissy saw any animals yet.

- Oh, well. - Oh yeah.

- Okay. - Yeah, come on.

- Was Baby Bop hiking with you today?

- Oh, she sure was.

- Oh.

- Sissy.

Oh man, where is she? - I don't know.

- Sissy.

Ai-yi-yi, where can she be?

Sissy.

- What-ee?

(all laughing)

- Oh, you snuck up on me, Sissy.

- I did.

Hello, Barney, hi, everybody.

- Hi, Baby Bop. - Hi, Baby Bop.

- That was funny. - Did you see any animals

on your hike, Baby Bop?

- Oh, I wasn't looking for animals.

I was looking for pretty leaves.

- Oh, and look at the big leaf you found.

- Yeah. - That's pretty.

- Oh, and it looks like you found something else

along with your leaf.

Something very special.

- I did? - Uh-huh.

- Look right there. - Cool.

- It's a chrysalis. - Mm-hmm.

- Oh yeah, a chrysalis.

What is it?

- Well, a chrysalis is what a caterpillar lives in

while it changes into a butterfly.

- You mean there's a little butterfly in there?

- [Barney] Yup.

It's right inside that little chrysalis.

- When will it come out?

- Oh, well, whenever it's ready.

- Oh man.

I didn't see one animal on my nature hike,

but Sissy found a butterfly and didn't even know it.

- Maybe you should put it in a safe place

until it comes out.

- Okay, but where.

- I have an idea. - Oh?

- Would you like to put it in my box, Baby Bop?

- Oh yes, please, thank you.

- Oh, it's very nice of you to share, Angela.

- Oh, oh, oh, looky, looky, looky, BJ, BJ.

Look, look, look, look, a cute little turtle.

- Ai-yi-yi, not so loud, Sissy.

It's just a little turtle.

- Oh my, Baby Bop.

What a big outdoor voice you have.

- Outdoor voice?

- Oh, sure.

When we are outside, we can use our outdoor voices.

And when we are inside, we should use our indoor voices.

♪ When we talk, we've got two choices ♪

♪ We can use either one of our two voices ♪

♪ My indoor voice is kind of quiet ♪

♪ Like a kitty who just meowed

♪ Meow

♪ And my outdoor voice, it's fun to try it ♪

♪ 'Cause it's big and strong and loud ♪

Really loud.

♪ When we're in school or riding in a car ♪

♪ It's our indoor voice we use

♪ We can still have fun no matter where we are ♪

♪ With the quiet voice we choose ♪

- Oh, yes.

- Maybe I can find more things to put in the box.

- What for?

- To make the butterfly more comfy.

- Oh, that's nice, Baby Bop.

- Yeah. - Maybe there's something

in the caboose. - Let's go find out.

Come on, everybody.

What a great idea.

- Let's see.

What would a butterfly like?

Not that.

There's a ball in here.

- Yeah, now it's out, Sissy.

- Oh, good catch, BJ.

- No fish.

- Oh, that one almost got away.

- Sissy, put it back in.

- No, out. - No, in.

- No, out. - No, in.

- Out, BJ. - Here, we'll help you, BJ.

- Thanks, guys. - That's nice.

- That's enough. - Oh, look.

Another box.

Oh, what's this handle for, Barney?

- Well, why don't you turn it and find out?

- Okay.

(whimsical music)

Oh, that's pretty music.

I can dance to that.

Yeah, nice.

Oh, a clown popped out.

- Let's put it back in.

- And do it again, whoa.

Oh boy.

I don't think this will make the butterfly more comfy.

- Hey, Baby Bop, look what I found.

- What is it?

- Remember how the butterfly was in a chrysalis?

- Yes.

- Well, this has something in it too.

- Something is in the doll?

- Uh-huh. - Oh, show me, please.

Oh, goodie, another doll.

Hey, everybody, look, look.

- What did you find?

- The little doll was in the big one.

- Oh, that's right.

Those are nesting dolls.

- I have some at home just like these.

See?

- Look, there's another one. - Oh boy.

- [BJ] Wow, how many dolls are in there?

- Well, let's see. - Look, another one.

- Oh, goodie. - Look at all the cute,

little dolls. - Oh.

They look like a family.

- Yes, they do. - Wow.

That's a big family.

I don't have that many people in mine.

- Well, there are all kinds of families, Nick.

That's what makes them so special.

(chimes ringing)

It's just like that piggy bank.

Even though you can't see them,

there are lots of coins in there.

- There are?

- And we know that because (coins jingling)

we can hear them.

- Yeah.

Does anyone have any coins to put in the piggy bank?

- That's a good idea.

- Sure, I have a penny.

- I have a penny and a nickel.

- I have a dime.

- All right. - We have lots of coins

to put in there.

♪ I can hear the money in this pocket of mine ♪

- Whoa.

that will be just right.

I can put that in my box.

Yeah, there we go, yeah.

- It fits just right.

- It sure does.

- And you had it with you the whole time, Sissy.

- I'm sure it will keep the butterfly safe and warm

until it's ready to come out.

- Well, I wonder when it's going to come out.

- Well, we'll just have to wait and see.

And while we're waiting, why don't we play a game?

- Yeah. - Great idea.

- Okay, then follow me.

Oh, I'm sure we'll find something.

- Come on, little butterfly. - Watch your step.

Now first, let me just put this down right here.

Now, everyone find a place around the circle.

- Yeah. - Now, let's hold hands.

- Yeah. - That's one of my favorites.

- What are you doing, Sissy?

- Well, there must be lots more butterflies

that need my blankie.

We learned about a chrysalis.

- We got to play games.

- And Terry went back to his home.

- I'm sure he enjoys being back at the pond.
