is the keyboard the keyboard is how you

tell the computer what you want to do

see the keyboard has letters and numbers

on it so you can type words and

directions for the computer

and that must be the monitor

that's right barney the monitor shows

you what the computer is doing it's sort

of like a tv screen

yep and this is the mouse

it doesn't look like a little mouse to

me

well jeff it's not furry like a mouse

but it does have a long tail

see you just move the mouse so that the

arrow points to the part of the screen

you want and then you click the button

with your finger like this

and the mouse tells the computer what to

do

that's a very smart mouse

right now well i never heard it yet

i guess if a smart mouse is gonna be

anywhere you'd be in the library oh dear

now i've heard everything can you hear

sorry scooter i don't see a mouse i just

see bonnie and the children

well i want to find him a smart mouse a

smart squirrel we make a great team come

on miser let's go

oh my i haven't scooted in yet

computers are really fun to use my mom

has one in her office and sometimes she

lets me play games on it

computers help many people do their work

kristin my dad uses a computer in his

job it helps them draw plans for

buildings well there are lots of

different kinds of computers for

different kinds of jobs you know we all

use computers every day we do

how let's find out with

every time you go to the grocery store

the cashier uses a computer to add up

the cost of your groceries i didn't know

there are computers at a grocery store

and when you eat at a restaurant they

use a computer to tell the cook what you

want to eat

sometimes when your mom or dad goes to

the bank they use a computer like this

to take their money out and a computer

runs the car wash

wow computers can do all kinds of neat

things

when scientists and astronauts use many

different computers to send rockets up

into space

that's the kind i want to learn to use

computers can be very helpful and lots

of fun for everyone
