Barney's friends are big and small they

come from lots of places after school

they need to play and sing with happy

faces Barney shows us lots of things

like how to play pretend ABCs and one

two threes and how to be a friend whose

son he comes to play with us whenever we

may need him before he can be your

friend too if you just make me leave him

look you guys it's Mr Boyd I wonder what

he's doing with all that paint let's go

see yeah maybe we can help hi Mr boy hi

everybody do you need any help oh say I

can always use good helpers where are

you going with all this paint well

there's a wall in the hallway that

really needs a coat of fresh paint but

I'm having one big problem what's that

I'm trying to decide what color the wall

should be maybe

if you're in oh that's my favorite or

should it be blue that's a good color

too or yellow yellow is great it says it

bright sunny color or maybe even purple

what's going on Mr Boyd is having a

problem with colors today oh he is yes

he's going to paint the wall in the

hallway but I can't decide which color

would be best hmm well that is a problem

Mr bulleen it sure is

but uh

maybe all of you could help me decide

tell you what uh I'll get my ladder set

up and check with you later to see which

color you picked

how are we going to pick just one I like

all of these colors

we like colors we like them a lot we've

got colors colors we've got red blue and

yellow purple orange green black white

brown every color in between

makes me think of an apple or a cherry

the sun when it sets or a ripe

strawberries blue is the sky blue is the

sea blue is the color of the blueberry

orange is a pumpkin orange is a carrot

oranges and orange but we can share it

and if you haven't seen what is purple

and green just take a look at Barney see

what I mean

oh my there are so many lovely colors

have chosen just one is not gonna be

easy

my scooter whatever are you doing with

that paintbrush well I'm going to be a

great artist that's right and make a

great painting you mean you're going to

paint a picture that's right great

artist always paint great pictures true

now I've got a brush and champagne to

what else do I need Will child

what are you going to paint on

looks like he's asleep

hi guys what's going on we're trying to

help Mr Boyd decide what color to paint

the hallway but it's not so easy there

are so many colors to choose from start

using Barney's special hack to play a

color game oh I love to play games how

do you play who just picked something

out of my special hat if you'll see okay

here goes

we'll give it a try

yellow yellow is my favorite color just

look at me

um well BJ can I have some yellow it's

my favorite color too oh what about your

blankie oh yeah

oh it is yellow

I like my blankie it's very very yellow

I like it even better than her bowl of

Jello when she holds it close it feels

just right she likes her yellow blankie

in the day and night I

very yellow I like to keep it with me

my planky feels so soft like a big

marshmallow but I like it most because

which color I should use no we haven't

decided yet oh well I've got the ladder

certainly seems to be popular

yeah yellow is perfect oh really the sun

is yellow and bananas are yellow my

blankie is yellow and I'm yellow too

they're right yellow is a perfect color

so my dear scooter have you decided what

you're going to think well I do happen

to know a little bit about Aunt myself

perhaps a nice landscape I'm with us

some lovely green trees over there oh

and that nice blue sky

but I want to paint something yellow

well perhaps a bowl of fruit with a nice

yellow banana in it oh that's true

yellow and blue are great colors do you

think we should choose one of those I

don't know there are lots of other

colors too are there any more inside

your special hat Barney oh why don't you

look inside and see

red is a great color my bike is red and

apples are red too I see something else

that's right see the Caboose on this

train is red

I like to watch trains my dad and I saw

one just the other day on the way to

school trains are fun to watch as they

go rumbling bye I try to count all the

cars and I really like it when they blow

the whistle

okay we've got to pick a color for Mr

Boyd what other colors are left well how

about orange green or purple

how do I know something very special

about those colors come on everybody and

everyone did such a great job just look

at all the different colors whoa what

colorful pictures

we made them by mixing different colors

together oh they look like

can we go can we go pictures

oh that's a great idea how good it

is

you know those pictures would look great

out in the hallway why don't we go hang

some up out there for everyone to see

Barney it makes me smile when I look at

it why is that because it's purple just

like you oh I'm glad I make you smile

early in the morning when I get dressed

because I always want to look my best

the first thing I do so everyone will

see is put a great big smile on me

smile is a gift to you from me a smile

is a present in a special way cause you

still get to keep it when you give it

away

what did you finally decide to paint

piece of lovely red and yellow flowers

or maybe a blue house oh they are such

lovely colors to put into a picture

those pictures we painted look just

great in the hallway I really like your

tree picture Curtis thanks green is my

favorite color who it is yeah it reminds

me of everything outside there is so

many different shades of green too like

the leaves on the trees or those plants

over there

about all this green grass that grows

all around

there was a home there was a hole in the

middle of the ground in the middle of

the ground the prettiest homes

but you ever did see

and on this tree

there was a bridge

the oblivious

and on this Branch

there was a mess

the prettiest Nest the prettiest

[Music]

Grass Grows All Along

the prettiest bird

will the bird in the egg and the egg in

the nest and the nest on the branch and

the branch on the tree and the tree in

the home and the hole in the ground

oh my stars

Barney so what do you think have you

decided which color I should use yet

oh I see

maybe we could try our special hat again

then oh this is going to be terrific

there's nothing quite as beautiful as a

rainbow

green it's the color of trees and lots

of things that grow and then there's

blue for the sky and purple that's a

Never End here's what we did today

we had fun helping Mr Boyd decide what

color to paint the school hallway with a

Little Help From My special hat we found

colors all around us there was blue like

the horn Curtis found and yellow like

baby Bops blankie and red like the

Caboose of a train

we even learned how to make other colors

by mixing them together

you can make green by mixing blue and

yellow or make orange by mixing yellow

and red but when you mix red and blue

together it makes one of my favorite

colors do you know what color it is

you're right it makes purple I just love

purple

and remember I love you
