we call a dinosaur sensation

barney's friends are big and small they

come from lots of places after school

they need to play and sing with happy

faces barney shows us lots of things

like how to play pretend abcs

after a long and dangerous trip to lion

country he finally spotted three lions

there were girl lines called lionesses

we knew that if we weren't careful these

lionesses could jump on us and eat us

what are you doing i'm playing safari

safari what's that i've been reading

about it

safari is a swahili word from africa

it means to go on a trip

they're all different kinds of safaris

but the one i'm talking about is the

camera safari

you get in a car or a boat and go to

places where wild animals live

and then you take pictures of them

wow wouldn't that be fun i think it

would be scary but a fun kind of scary

why don't we all go on a pretend safari

can tell from her color that she belongs

but tigers aren't just big kitty cats

baby bop they're wild animals that

belong to the cat family what other

animals are in the cat family we can

find out by looking at the adventure

most african lions live in sunny grassy

areas like this called savannas

you see cats can come in all different

kinds of shapes sizes colors and even

spots

are those all the wild cats in the world

lots more and you can see some of them

at the zoo thank you for showing me the

thank goodness i found you yes yes yes

my little precious i was worried about

you that's a beautiful dress stella why

thank you men i just got it in thailand

i was on my way there and i took a wrong

turn because i thought

well anyway i got to thailand but muffin

didn't we found it when we were playing

safari safari with lots and lots of

animals yeah

that reminds me of a story called the

lion and the mouse would you like to

hear it

of course i know that's a story

once upon a time a lion

slept peacefully on a warm summer

afternoon

suddenly he felt a tickling on his tail

then all along his back then on his head

and finally down on his nose

with a sleepy lion opened his eyes and

what do you think he saw what a teeny

tiny mouse trembling on the tippy tip of

his nose

the lion snatched the mouse off his nose

holding him in his mighty paw

oh excuse me lion said the frightened

mouse i thought i was walking on a log i

didn't mean to wake you please don't eat

me

why shouldn't i said the lion

because if you let me live someday i'll

do something nice for you in return

last a lion i am the king of the jungle

you are too small to ever help me

but

you're not even a mouthful so i'll let

you go

thank you said the mouse as he scurried

away

later as the mighty lion roamed through

the jungle he stepped on a trap and a

giant net made of heavy rope fell over

the lion roared and jumped and struggled

angrily he pushed and he pulled and he

tried to throw the net off but the

harder he tried the more tangled he

became he couldn't escape and finally he

fell to the ground

all tired out oh no

said the lion the hunters will come soon

and take me away

suddenly there was a tickling feeling

just like the tickling he felt when he

was sleeping before and he looked down

to see

the teeny tiny mouse happily chewing

away on the heavy ropes and little mice

have big front teeth and in no time at

all he chewed a hole in the net for the

lion to escape

the lion was very happy he dropped for

joy and he invited the mouse to take a

ride home on his back

they were friends from that day on

because he learned a very important

lesson what was that stella

the lion learned you're never too big to

ask for help are too little to give it

the end

oh that's right even little friends can

be a big help just like we can be a big

help to grown-ups huh barney right julie

oh that was a great story stella

then look for a friend who's hiding

you can make masks and pretend to be

your favorite animal like a crocodile

or an elephant

or even a tiger

the kitty cats that live in our houses

are in the same animal family as the big

cats that live in the wild

we learned that tigers have stripes

leopards have spots

and cheetahs can run faster than any

other animal
