i know about adoption because i was

adopted you were how did you get adopted

when i was a baby i didn't have a family

to belong to

my mom and dad wanted another baby so

they took me home and made me a part of

their family does being adopted make you

different

no i'm not different i just became part

of my family in a different way and

that's okay with me because i love my

mom and dad and they love me and love is

what really makes a family

i sure wish i could have a puppy but i

can't how come my parents should have to

but she ran away my mom said i could

have another pet but i was thinking

about getting another cat are you sure

uh-huh besides i'd have to ask my mom if

a dog would be okay

asked everyone i know

could he stay at school we could all

take care of him yeah this would be fun

puppies need lots of love and attention

and if he stayed at school he'd have to

be all alone all night because everyone

i wouldn't want him to be alone we need

to find him a good home but he'll be

maybe we could make posters to let

people know you have a puppy that needs

a home that's a good idea my mom could

help us put them up around the

neighborhood

think it's a birdhouse i think it's a

bird feeder you're both right it's a

bird villain

why so many birdhouses

tells us for a different kind of bird

what's the shoe for

that's for a rent a rental make a home

in just about any safe cozy place

what about the plastic pipe that's for a

sparrow

this will be really cool when all the

birds come

could all decide that together and draw

a picture of the doghouse you'd like to

make that's what i did with my birdhouse

i even have some paper left over come on

hi everybody it's time for barney says

hello again to all my friends i'm glad

you came to play our fun and learning

never ends here's what we did today

minh was trying to find a good home for

a puppy she couldn't keep

wasn't he cute and

cuddly we painted posters to find a new

family for the puppy

sean wanted other animals to have a good

home too

he built a bird village with places for

birds to eat and sleep

and he recycled old things his family

didn't need anymore

tiny wrens will love making a nest in

that old shoe

and the puppy will love the nice dog

house we built for him

but he was most happy because julie

adopted him and made him part of her

family

she'll give him lots of love

and remember i love you
