It is so good to see you.

I was hoping you would
come and visit today.

Wait a minute. [sniffing]

What's that smell?
It smells like... [sniffing]

dew.

[sniffing]

Hm? [sniffing]

[gasps] It's you!

[sniffing] Ooo. Tell me,

were you just playing
outside in the grass?

'Cause you smell all
fresh and dewy!

[sniffing] Ahh!

But you probably
smell this good all the time?

-[chuckles]
-[British accent] Pip-pop.

[British accent] Tally-ho.

Cheerio, old Bear.

-[laughter]
-Hmm?

G-Pip? Pop?

I wonder
what's up with those two.

Want to find out? Well, come on!

So, Pip, Pop... What's going on?

[British accents] Pip? Pop?

[laughing Britishly]

I believe
you must be confused, Bear.

Yes. Let us introduce ourselves.

We are. Professor Pip.

And Professor Pop!

...
fossil hunters extraordinaire!

-[laughing]
-Oooh, fossil hunters?

-Mm-hmm.
-Oh! Ah...

Fossils are rocks that have
stuff left over in them,

like plants and animals
from a long time ago!

Quite!

Ooo. This is exciting!

-Yes.
-Well, uh, you know...

[clears throat] [with accent]
I've done a bit of

fossil hunting myself.

[giggles]

When do you plan on
taking your expedition?

Oh. We're taking our expedition
to the Otter Pond.

[chuckles]I think
it'll be a Pip!

And a Pop! Oh-ho, of course.

-Ho, ho, ho, ho, ho.
-How silly of me. Ha-ha.

Let's go! Pip-Pop!

-Cheerio!
-Sally-forth!

-Sally-back!
-Good show!

Stiff upper lip
and all that rot.

Yes, indeed.

And, if our friend,
Professor Treelo...

would be kind enough
to join us, we'll be on our way!

Ah! There he is now!

Ah. There's the professor now.

Yeah,
so come along, my good lemur!

-Hey Pip, Pop.
-Hey, Professor Treelo.

Hello, Bear!

Wow! That's a pretty big
backpack you got on there!

Yeah. Me going on expedition!

Yes, yes. Quite right.
To find fossils, Bear,

you simply must have
the right gear.

And lots of it! Quite!

[clears throat] We need
a magnifying glass!

Sometimes fossils are really
small and hard to find!

And, of course...

-Oh.
-We need shovels.

-Ah, yes.
-[Bear clears his throat]

Because sometimes fossils
are very deep underground.

-Uh-oh.
-Yes.

And of course one always needs
a healthy supply of snacks!

Of course, banananas...

and clams...

The snack of kings.

Yeah.

Ah, ah, oh! Oh.

Banananas.

Um, that's an awful
lot of stuff to carry.

Uh, are you sure you
can carry it, Treelo?

Treelo [grunt] strong, Bear!

Smashing good show, boy.

I do believe we are
ready to push onward!

Onward! In search of...

... fossils!

Whoa, whoa! Whoahhh!

-I say! He's wobbling!
-Come along, Professor Treelo!

Yes, yes. Sally-forth.

Good luck on all
your discoveries.

Bye, Bear!

POP: Uh... yes, yes.

Wow! Isn't it exciting
to discover new things!

Mm-hmm.

Discovery!

Discovery.

Do you know what letter
discovery begins with?

'D' That's right!

A discovery is something

that you never
knew about before.

And there are lots of ways
to discover things.

Like...

Folks dug up bones
from the ground

and discovered dinosaurs.

And if you use a telescope,
you can see things

far, far away and you might
discover a new star or planet.

And if you look hard
enough at the ground,

you might discover a new
bug no one's seen before.

But, you don't need
to discover a new star

or a planet or a dinosaur
to make a discovery.

If something is new to you-

that is a discovery!

♪ When young I started simple ♪

♪ I discovered honey's sweet ♪

♪ I then discovered
mountain streams ♪

♪ And that berries
are good to eat ♪

♪ My curiosity was growing ♪

♪ It was here to stay ♪

♪ I love to discover ♪

♪ Wonder what I'll find today ♪

♪ Now I'm more excited ♪

♪ I dig holes behind my home ♪

♪ I find lots of fossils ♪

♪ Though they might be
sticks and stones ♪

♪ I'm trying to uncover ♪

♪ The buried city of Pompeii ♪

♪ I love to discover ♪

♪ Wonder what I'll find today ♪

♪ Like Einstein or Columbus ♪

♪ Use a telescope or compass ♪

♪ But the best tool it appears ♪

♪ Is the one between your ears ♪

♪ Someday I'll find
a way to have ♪

♪ A birthday twice a year ♪

♪ Or discover
how to travel back ♪

♪ To when dinosaurs were here ♪

♪ I'll discover how to journey ♪

♪ To the far off milky way ♪

I discovered a-a rock that
looked kinda like a shoe.

A shark's tooth.

A baby crab that was not
with its mother and father.

A big treasure box.

I found this huge seashell,
oh--...

And I found this gold coin.

It has diamonds on it.

I read books and I discover
something about

the body and about stars

and a lot of things
about animals.

I discovered by the route
next to my house,

there's like caves.

I sometimes find, like fossils
and stuff like that there.

Wow. You've made

some interesting
discoveries yourself.

You know what I've discovered?

If my hand gets closer to you,
it'll look bigger.

Watch!

See! [laughter]

TUTTER/OJO: Bear!
Bear! Come quick!

Hey!
That sounds like Tutter and Ojo.

And it sounds like
they're up in the attic.

Let's go see what they're doing.
Come on.

Tutter?

Ojo?

Hmm.

That's strange.

I thought I heard
Tutter and Ojo up here.

-But I don't seem to--
-Oh. Hi, Bear! [chuckles]

[startled] Oh. [chuckles]

Hey, you two,
what are you doing up here?

Oh, well, we were just looking
for something to do, Bear.

Yeah, and then, we found
this weird, um, old box!

-Yeah.
-Hey! Let's see what this is.

Mmm.

Mmmm...

Well, i-i-it's kind of hard
to tell what it is 'cause...

-Aaah... Aaah...
-it's so... covered with dust.

-Aaah-chooo!
-Oh, oh.

Heh-heh, not anymore.

[laughter] Oooh, look.

It's got some cool
stickers on it...

Oh yeah. But, look!

Somebody scribbled
scrabbled all over it.

-Oh...
-Eck... what a mess.

Wait...
I think that that's a 'B'...

Wha--Oh, it isn't...

Hey, look!
That's an 'E'... and an 'A'...

Oh yeah. And isn't that an R.

Hey, isn't that how
you spell your name, Bear?

Hey, you're right!
That does spell Bear!

-[chuckles]
-Yeah.

-Wait a minute...
-What?

-I know this box!
-[gasps]

I haven't seen it since
I was a little cub.

You discovered
my old treasure box!

-Treasure box!
-Wow! A treasure box!

Yay! [chuckles]

Yeah. I used to keep my very
favorite stuff in here,

back when I was your age!

Whooooa. Wh-whoa, whoa boy.

Hey, do you mind
if we look inside it, Bear?

Oh no. Not at all.

Wow, look at all this stuff...

Crayons and...
and stickers... and

Ouch! Oh. Jacks and....

-Whoa-whoa-whoa!
-Oh! Be careful of those...

Whooaaww! [knocking]

...marbles.

-[chuckles]
-Ha!

Hey, look! It's my old lollipop.

Oh. [chuckles] Thanks, Bear.

Hey, hey,
find some more stuff, Tutter!

-Oh, yeah right.
-Yeah.

[grunt] What, what is this?

-What?
-It's so heavy.

A rock?

What's it doing in here?

Ooo. A rock?

-That's interesting.
-It is a heavy one...

Oh. Bear, a little help?

-Sure, Tutter.
-Ah.

Phew!

Hey, I know this rock...

This rock was from the old
cave I used to play in.

[gasps] A cave?

Oh yeah.

In fact, I used to call
it my secret cave.

[gasps]

Secret cave?

Yeah, a-

Yeah, I used to go there
and play by myself for hours.

Or sometimes me and my friends
would go there...

-Whoa.
-... and play fort...

-Yeah.
-... or pirate ship...

-Wow!
-... or house.

[chuckles]It was a great place!

Pretty cool.

Cooooool?!

Oh! Oh! Could we go there, Bear?

Oh. Could we,
could we, could we?

-Huh, huh?
-Oh, sure, I don't see why not.

Yay!

Only... um...

-Let's go! Let's go!
-Yeah, yeah, yeah, Bear.

-Let's go! Let's go! Let's go!
-Lead us to it!

Okay, well, first we go
past the otter pond...

-Yes.
-Otter pond...

And then,
around the willow tree Okay.

-Willow tree...
-Okay!

No...

-What? Huh?
-First we go down the path...

-Huh?
-Okay.

... then past the rock...

-Bear! You forgot?
-Uh...

No, no, no. I know for a fact
that it's outside...

somewhere.

[sarcastically] That
narrows it down.

Oh, gosh.
We've just got to find it!

-Hmm.
-Hmm.

Oh, hey! I know!
Bear discovered it once...

We could discover it again!

-We could?
-Yeah.

-Oh, I mean... we could!!!
-Okay.

-Yeah!
-[chuckles] What a great idea.

Whoa, yeah! We-well,
maybe we can get

Pip, Pop
and Treelo to help, too!

-Yeah, yeah, yeah.
-Yeah.

You do that and I'll
come out and join you.

-Oh boy, oh boy.
O-h, okay.

Come on, let's go find them!
Come on, let's go get them.

[grunt] Cool.

W-We'll see you out there, Bear.

-Okay.
-[chuckles] Let's go.

I'm right behind you.

[laughter]

Did you hear that?

I think that's Shadow.

Hmm.

You know, if we sing a song
together

and look real hard,

she might appear.

Ready?

Oh.

where is Shadow? ♪

♪ Where-o where-o

♪ Where can Shadow be... ♪

Hmm...

Shadow!

[laughter]

Hey, there you are,
you furry bear, ya!

[laughter]

Oh! Hi, Shadow!
So nice to see you up here.

So tell me Shadow,
what have you been doing today?

Well, I made a very interesting
discovery today, Bear.

Really? What's that?

That if l stand on my head...

[moaning]

The world looks like
it's upside down!

-[laughter]
-Wow!

That is an interesting
discovery, Shadow.

Oh.

Well, Shadow, I was wondering -

could you tell us a story today?

Why certainly, Bear! Let me
see what I can find for you.

Just watch.

♪ In 1492, Columbus... ♪

That's me. Christopher Columbus.

♪ Sailed the ocean blue ♪

Well, actually,
it was a little more green.

Yes, just like that.

♪ With sails unfurled ♪

Aahh. I'm beginning
to feel a little seasick.

Oh.

♪ He discovered the new world ♪

I claim this new world
in the name of-

Wait a second.
We were here first.

You're what's new. We claim you.

Oh, okay.

Want some potatoes?

Sure...

uh, what's a potato?

Wow! That was great! "1492".

It's wonderful when
you can discover

new places and new people.

Yes. Just think, Bear,

if l hadn't come
out of the shadows,

I would never have
discovered you.

Or did I discover you, Shadow?

[laughter] No, I saw you first!

[chuckles] And I'm glad you did!

Same here, Bear.

Well, I'm off.

But when you need another story-

and catch me! [laughter]

ready to make a discovery?

Let's go find my old cave.

-Boy, that is a big rock.
-I'll say. Aren't they great!

You should've seen
the one that...

Ha! Hey, everybody.

ALL: Hey, Bear!

So, Professors Pip and Pop.

How did the fossil hunt go?

Well, old Bear...

Although we were
unable to confirm...

the existence of fossils
at the Otter Pond.

...we did find
some cooool rocks.

Yeah. Cool rocks. See.

-Yeah, quite.
-[chuckles]

[British accent]
And now we're ready...

-Willing...
-And able...

to assist in your search
for the cave!

-Yeah.
-Yeah, oh boy.

Ah yes, the cave.

-Hey! You know what?
-What?

These rocks look a lot like
the ones from your treasure box.

Don't you think?

-Treasure box?
-Hmmm. You're right.

This could be a very
important discovery.

Really?

Of course... think about it.

if we follow Pip and Pop

to where they found
these rocks...

[gasps] I just thought
of something!

If we follow Pip and Pop

We'll find the secret cave!

[chuckles]

That's what I was trying to say!

Well, come on,
guys, which way do we go?

Who's this Sally person?

Come on.
We'll find the cave together.

Now, remember, everybody.

Keep your ears and eyes open.

When you're making a discovery,

there's lots to
see and hear everywhere...

Oh.

Hey. Do you think the cave's
anywhere around here, Bear?

Well, actually, this does
look a little familiar.

-Mm-hmm.
-Oh.

Tell you what.

I'll check around here,
and why don't all of you...

-Oh. We'll check over here!
-Yeah, over here.

That's what we're gonna do,
Bear.

Come on, Tutter.

Look over. Whoa, wait for me.

Now, let's see, um,

[chuckles]

-No, I don't see.
-Up the...

It's just gotta be
around here somewhere.

Wonder how everyone
else is doing.

-Bear! Bear!
-Bear! We found something!

-Yeah, yeah, yeah.
-But-but, where are you?

-Back here, Bear!
-We're over here!

Yeah, yeah, I think we found it!

Look at this.

-Over here?
-Follow the sound of my voice.

-Back behind the tree.

Over here... to your right.

[gasps] Oh wow!
It's my secret cave!

Oh. I can't believe
that it's really real!

And it's really cool.

-Ye!

Boy, I'll say. [chuckles]

How did you ever fit
inside here, Bear?

How'd you ever fit?

Well, I was a lot younger.

You know... smaller?

on the wall!

Oh, look at that.

-Oh yeah.

-I just said that.
-I drew those.

-Who are they, Bear?
-Oh.

That's Don deer
and Roger badger.

They were my friends
when I was little.

Oh.

You mean you had
different friends?

Oh sure.

We used to come here
all the time and play.

We would pretend this
place was a castle.

-Oh. Whoa.
-Or a ship at sea...

-Whoa.
-Or sometimes a spaceship...

-[chuckles]
-It was great!

You did all that stuff, too?

I don't believe it! [chuckles]

Oh, and look...

[chuckles]

-little furniture.
-Oh wow!

Look at that! It's so cute.

Just the right size
for a little Bear!

Mm-hmm.

I never knew you were so little,
Bear.

-[giggles]
-Of course,

I was young just like
all of you, once!

No...

It couldn't be!

a younger bear ♪

♪ I discovered this cave ♪

♪ And I made it my lair ♪

♪ Did you really fit inside? ♪

♪ I swear
that's hard to believe ♪

Well, it's true...

♪ When I was
No more than a tyke ♪

♪ I learned to climb trees
And to ride a bike ♪

♪ Hey, that's the kind
of stuff we like ♪

♪ You mean you were
little too? ♪

Uh-huh!

♪ Did you splash in the creek? ♪

♪ Well, I'd have to say yes ♪

♪ Did you play hide and seek? ♪

♪ Hey, how did you guess ♪

♪ Did you feel small and meek ♪

♪ Like I do? ♪

♪ I'm really surprised
that you knew! ♪

♪ I must have been
A lot like you ♪

[chuckles] I think you were,
Bear.

♪ Did you do
what you were told ♪

♪ When you went in your cave ♪

♪ Were you brave and bold ♪

♪ Bear, how'd you get
to be so old? ♪

♪ After a while I just grew ♪

♪ Did you wish on a star? ♪

♪ Did you talk to the moon? ♪

♪ Eat jam from a jar? ♪

♪ And lick off the spoon ♪

♪ Well, sure,
I did all that stuff too ♪

♪ But, bear, you know what?
You still do! ♪

Oh, Yeah...

♪ I guess I'm still
a lot like you ♪

-Ye.
-Wow.

Bear was just like us!

Yeah! He was!

Boy! You really knew
how to have fun, Bear.

[chuckles] Yeah.

Boy, it's too bad
you can't fit in here, Bear!

But you're
too big, too big! [chuckles]

Oh, don't worry about it.

I'll still have fun watching
all of you have fun!

So, um, what are you going
to do with the old place?

-[giggles]

He-here's a rock that
I could use as a table.

-Yeah.

-I once had a chair...

[chuckles]

Wow! This has been
some great day!

Let's go up and tell
Luna all about it.

Come on.

Ahh! There she is.

Hey, Luna!

Oh. So, Bear,

how was your day
in the Big Blue House?

I would have to say today was
a day of discovery, Luna.

Oh, I see.

And what great discoveries

did you make
with your friends, today?

Well, Pip and Pop and Treelo

went out to discover fossils

and found some
cool rocks instead.

Hmm.

And then, Tutter and Ojo

found my old treasure box!

And that reminded
me of my old cave!

Your old cave? You don't mean...

BOTH: The secret cave.

[laughter]

Oh. And how did everyone
like your "Secret Cave? "

-They loved it!
-Hmm...

There's nothing like
a little discovery

-to make a day exciting.
-Mmm.

-But you know, Bear?
-Hmm?

I'll bet the thing
they liked best

was discovering some
new things about you!

-Really?
-Mm-hmm.

-You think so?
-Mm-hmm.

Aw.

Well Luna,
