I've smelled that smell before.

[sniffing] Ooo.

It's mysterious.

[sniffing]

[sniffing] Oooo.

Tell me-Did you just eat some
oatmeal with apple and cinnamon?

Because you smell all
apple and cinnamony.

[sniffing] Aaah!

Or do you smell this
good all the time? [chuckle]

TUTTER: Bear! Come on. Come on.

We don't want to miss it.

Coming Ojo. Coming Tutter.

Come on.

Hurry, Bear! It's almost time!

Okay, okay. I'm here. I'm here.

We're just about to listen
to our favorite radio show.

ALL: Nick Kodiak,
Bear Detective.

[laughing]

A detective is someone who
uses clues to solve mysteries.

C'mon.
Hurry. almost time, Bear. Hurry!

[radio noise]

MAN THROUGH RADIO: Nick
Kodiak is on the air!

Isn't it exciting?

MAN THROUGH RADIO:
Isn't it exciting?

Hey,
didn't she just say that?…

Shhh.

MAN THROUGH RADIO:
This week Nick Kodiak tackles

"The Case of the Three Bears."

Hey, I know this story!

MAN THROUGH RADIO: It
was early in the morning.

The three bears had returned

to find their cottage in shambles.

So they called me…
[telephone ringing]

ALL: Nick Kodiak,
Bear Detective.

WOMAN: Detective Kodiak.
KODIAK: Thank you for coming.

WOMAN: I can't believe
they broke my chair!

MAN: Sure, sure.
Tell me what happened here.

MAN: Well, we got home,

and we noticed that someone
had been sitting in our chairs.

WOMAN: And whoever it
was broke my chair.

MAN: Anything else?

WOMAN: We left some porridge
out for our breakfast.

And someone came
in and tasted every bowl.

And,
and they ate all of my porridge.

MAN: I see a pattern
of clues here.

Baby Bear,
do you also have a bed?

[music then noise]

[ringing]

WOMAN: Someone is
sleeping in my bed.

MAN: Just as I suspected.

It's that sweet little
neighbor girl. Goldilocks.

WOMAN: Oh… Hey,
what are you bears doing here?

WOMAN: We live here.

MAN: How did you solve
the mystery, Detective Kodiak?

The clues!…I figured that
whoever ate Baby Bear's porridge

and sat in Baby Bear's
chair and broke it

would find his bed
to be just right.

WOMAN: This bed is just right.

Just another
mystery solved by…

ALL: Nick Kodiak.
Bear Detective.

[laughing]

That was great!

[laughing]

That Nick Kodiak
always cracks the case.

Yeah! Wow!

I wish we had
a mystery to solve.

Me, too.

But hey, where do you
even find a mystery?

Well,
mysteries are all around us,

even here
in the Big Blue House.

There are?

Sure,
you just have to look for them.

Oh…

Hey we could be

Detective Ojo…
And Tutter LeMouse…

Big blue house detectives!

[laughing]

There's nothing more
exciting than a… Mystery.

Mystery.

Mysteries are things
that we don't understand,

but they're so interesting

that they make us want to figure them out.

A mystery is kind
of like a puzzle.

And the pieces
are called clues.

Yeah!

[music]

How does water
get inside a faucet?

Why do lemurs like
to swing from trees?

How come there's no sand
inside a sandwich?

♪ How do they get holes
into Swiss cheese? ♪

♪ It's a mystery ♪

Hmmm.

Huh!

♪ I wonder ♪

♪ I wonder where the sun
sleeps when it's nighttime ♪

♪ How do watches know
what time it is? ♪

♪ How come when you pop corn
It makes popcorn? ♪

♪ But when you pop a soda
It makes fizz? ♪

♪ It's a mystery ♪

Hmm…

Huh!

I wonder ♪

♪ the world is full of mysteries
You solve 'em as you grow ♪

♪ How come you don't know? ♪

Let's go find some mysteries!

Oh! But what do you think?

And I've had three mysteries.

Something that we lost,
we try to find.

I lost my bracelet.

It's a mystery.

Look for clues.

And once you get out the clues,

all you got to do is follow them.

We're solving a haunted
house mystery.

I haven't done a mystery before,
but I will someday.

Wow!

You sure do know
a lot about mysteries!

Bear! Bear! Bear!

-Hey, Pip and Pop.
-Come on.

-Bear!
-We want to show you something.

-Yeah, c'mon.
-C'mon! [chuckles]

Guys?

What do you suppose
they're up to?

Let's go find out! C'mon

[laughing and indistinct
chatterss]

Hey, guys.

-Hey, Bear.
-What's going on?

We were just playing
with our sticks right here.

And we dug up all this
dirt with our sticks.

-Yeah, with our sticks.
-I see.

-It's to play with dirt!
-Yeah.

-But, Bear, we were wondering…
-Yes?

Why is there dirt?

-Oh, good question.
-Thank you.

Well, let's see…

Well,
the earth is covered with dirt.

There's a little bit of it everywhere,

except in the ocean, I think…

[sigh in disappointment]

-But, Bear, why?
-Yes.

-Oh! Why is there dirt?
-Yes.

Well, okay…

the earth has grass,
and trees, and rocks, and stuff.

And when they all break
into little pieces,

they make dirt!

Oh wow.

That's why there's dirt…

But, Bear,

we really wanted to know
why there's any dirt at all.

Yeah…Bear… Why?

Oh… erh… why… well,

…it's…it's…it's all part of

the cycle of living things.

Ah! The cycle…

But… Bear… Why?

Boy, you guys are asking
a lot of questions.

Well, we really want to know.

And while you're at it, Bear

Why are we here?

And how come everybody
isn't an otter?

-Good question.
-Thank you.

Well, guys, those are
answers I just don't know.

[stuttered]

There's something that
Bear doesn't know?

Guys, there's a lot
of things I don't know.

There's a lot
of things nobody knows.

They're just mysteries.

Some things are
just mysteries of life!

[exclaims]

Mysteries of life.

-I like that.
-I like that, too.

-It's very original.
-But, Bear,

will we ever find out?

I don't know,

but it's worth thinking about.

We're gonna be thinking
about this one, Bear.

-Definitely a lot of thinking.
-Yeah, well.

Hey! Wait. Wait. Our sticks!

Where did they go?

-What's wrong, guys?
-They were right here.

-Our sticks, Bear.
-Our sticks are gone.

Our sticks. They were right
here. And now… They're gone!

Hmmm. That's strange.

[exclaims]

It's a mystery!

Cool!

Well. That's ok,

We'll just have to get
some new sticks.

Wow! Pip and Pop sure had
a lot of questions.

Do you ever think
about things like that?

[Shadow laughing]

[Shadow laughing]

You know,
that sounds like Shadow.

Maybe if we sing a song together

and look real hard, she'll appear.

has lost her sheep ♪

I've lost my sheep.

[sheep bleats]

♪ And can't tell where
to find them ♪

-I can't find them.
-[sheep bleats]

We're over here.

Hello? Lost Sheep Hotline?

I've lost my sheep.

Leave them alone
and they'll come home,

wagging their tails
behind them.

♪ Little Bo Peep
fell fast asleep ♪

[snoring]

♪ And dreamed
she heard them bleating ♪

[sheep bleating]

♪ When she awoke,
it was all a joke ♪

♪ But they were still
a-fleeting ♪

I dreamed I heard bleating.

[sheep bleating]

♪ Then she took up
her little crook ♪

-Haya.
-Ahem.

♪ Then she took up
her little crook ♪

That crook. Sorry.

♪ And vowed that
she would find them ♪

I will find them.

♪ What was her joy
to see them there ♪

♪ Wagging their tails
behind them ♪

♪ I won't make that
mistake again ♪

just where to find them ♪

[sheeps bleating]

Ojo and Tutter are doing.

Observe, Detective Tutter,

the water is going down the drain.

But… where does the water go
after it goes down the drain?

[exclaims]

A mystery.

So, guys.

-Hi Bear.
-How's the mystery hunt going?

It's going great.

Hey…what's this?

Ooo… Mysterious.

That's no mystery,
Bear. That's my laundry!

My laundry.

[laughing]

-Sorry, my mistake, Tutter.
-Yeah.

Guess I've never seen clothes
that small in my window!

But, Bear,
we did find a real mystery!

The mystery
of the kitchen drain.

[laughing]

Ah, yes.

One of the greatest
mysteries of all time!

I'm going to take my hat off
and investigate further…

Oh! Allow me, Detective Ojo.

You know, mysteries are
really fim to investigate…

[whistling]

Hey, Did you hear something?

Yeah…Like… a whistle!
And it came from the window.

Hey!

What happened
to the ribbon on my hat?!

Hey! It's gone.

TUTTER: And my towel.

Look, look.
My towel is gone, too!

It was right there, I tell you.

You know, I was with Pip
and Pop earlier and they said

they had some sticks missing.

Looks like we have
a real mystery.

[exclaims]

Hey! Do you know what happened
to Pip and Pop's sticks,

and who took Ojo's ribbon
and Tutter's towel?

Hm… We better look out for clues.

-Ha!
-Hm…

-Oh, oh, wait a second!
-What? Where? Who?

Tutter? Your towel was
by the window, right?

Yeah, and, hey,
your hat was by the window, too.

Well, maybe whoever took
the ribbon off my hat

-and Tutter's towel came through the…
-Window!

-Exactly!
-That's right.

Maybe we should take
another look at the window.

[indistinct]

Very interesting.

Now, who would leave
a feather by the window?

Hey, Treelo likes
feathers doesn't he?

Yeah,
he has a feather collection!

And hey, doesn't Treelo like
to swing through windows?

he likes to whistle!

Very, very interesting.

And, furthermore,
we haven't seen Mr. Treelo

A Lemur all day long!

That's right!

And I know just where
to find him!

To the bedroom!!

We better go see
how this develops!

Detective Ojo, your hat!

-Hey, Treelo!
-Hello, Treelo.

Hey, guys.

What going on?

Well,
today, we're solving mysteries.

In fact, we're trying
to solve a mystery right now.

Maybe you can help us.

One second, Mr. Treelo!

We have a few questions for you,
if you have nothing to hide?

See! My feather missing too?!!!

They are gone!

The mystery deepens.

Well then,
whose feather is this?

Well, It must belong
to whoever has my ribbon,

your towel and…

Treelo, feather.

Treelo, where did you find
your empty feather box?

-By the window.
-Another open window?

Hey look!

-Another feather.
-Look.

A pretty feather.

Now where could we find
somebody who has feathers?

Gee, I don't know.
Maybe out by the otter pond.

Yeah…

[exclaims]

To the pond!

[mystery music]

Look, it's a feather!

-Another one!
-That my feather.

[whistling]

Wait a minute,
do you hear that whistling?

I think it's another clue..

-Yeah!
-Where?

Look, more feathers!

My goodness.
It's a trail of feathers.

Yeah, they lead over to…

ALL: The tree!

Look,
it's our friend, Mr. Woodpecker!

[woodpecker sound]

Hey, Mr. Woodpecker!

Look! On his nest… My ribbon.

And look at that in the nest,
too. There's pieces of my towel.

And my feather.

Hey guys, whatcha you doing?

Hey, Pip,
look at Mr. Woodpecker's nest.

Our sticks!

Hey, Mr. Woodpecker,
what're you doing?

What did he say, Bear?

He's saying that he's made
a nest for Mrs. Woodpecker

and he found some very interesting

things to make it with,

Aaaaah!

Well, Tutter, looks like
we cracked another case…

Yes.
Another mystery solved by…

-Detective Ojo…
-And Tutter LeMouse…

Big Blue House Detectives!

[happily shouting]

[laughing]

[sights]

Wow! Some day, huh?

Why don't we go up
and tell Luna all about it?

C'mon!

[crickets chirping]

There she is!

Hello, Luna!
How are you this evening?

Just fine, Bear.

And how is everything
in the Big Blue House?

Well,
we had a very mysterious day.

Ooo, mysteries. What happened?

Well, Pip and Pop had some
very interesting questions

well worth thinking about.

Asking questions
is a very good way

to learn about the world

and all the
mysterious things that happen in it.

And then things
just kept disappearing.

-Oh! Really?
-Hmm mm.

But we looked for clues

and figured out
what was really happening.

-And?
-And it turned out

that our good friend

Mr. Woodpecker was
busy making a nest…

[laughter]

And he was using some
of our things to make it!

-Oh! Mystery solved?
-That's right.

But you know Luna, some would
say that you're a mystery.

I'm not such a mystery.

I'm just the big old moon.

And I'm here to talk to you,

and shine on you, every night, Bear.

There's no mystery there.

Ah…
that makes me feel good, Luna.
