I was just about
to check the mail.

I love getting mail.

I wonder what I've gotten today.

Ooo it's a package.
For... Bear. That's me!!

Wow, I wonder what's inside?
Well C'mon!!

[sniffing] Hm?

[sniffing]

Wait a second...

[sniffing]

What's that smell?

[sniffing]

It's you!

Ooo, tell me, were you
just playing in the woods?

Cause you smell like trees!!
And I love trees.

[sniffing] Ah!

Or maybe you just smell
this good all the time.

[laughing]

Umm... can't wait to
see what's inside. C'mon.

[background music]

Wow, what could be in
this little package for me?

I can't wait gotta open it,
gotta open it!

Huh! Look! It's a tape,

a tape of "Soothing
Sounds of the Seashore."

Wow!

I can't wait to put this in
my tape player and play it.

[laughs]

[indistinct shouting]

OJO: Hey, Bear! Bear!

Hey, Ojo! I didn't see you!

Hm... What are you doing
in that sheet?

Ah! No, no, no, no, no,
Bear! This isn't a sheet.

Of course not. Silly me!

This is a camping tent!

It's a camping tent.
It's a tent.

Yeah, and right now, it's night
time in the great outdoors.

And I'm sleeping by a campfire.

Oh... That's great, Ojo.
Very relaxing.

-So, Bear...
-Yes.

...well, if you wouldn't mind,

I'm taking it slow and easy
and if you play your music...

No no, this isn't
music, it's a tape of

of the Seashore."

I'll pretend that I'm
camping at beach

and you can listen to
your soothing sounds.

Let's all sit back and relax
this will just be like

going to the beach...

the sea gulls...

Wow, this is great, Ojo.

I can just here the waves now...

[from tape] That's right you can
hear the waves now...

the ceaseless breaking of the
waves lap, lap,

lapping against the shore...

[deep breath]

[Treelo shouting]

What?

I think there's a fire
truck around here!!

[Treelo shouting]

No, now it's a race car!

[Treelo mimicking
race car sound]

Treelo!! I don't want to
camp by the highway!!

-Treelo make sounds!!
-Stop it! Treelo!

Well, I guess now is not
a good time to listen to

my relaxation tape.

[Tape continues]

I don't want Treelo
to make sounds.

Besides, I'm camping,
and I was here first.

Treelo makes sounds

Hmm.

Sounds. Um, Treelo,
can you make a cricket sound?

[crickets' chirping]

That's great!
I can see it now...

A tent in the great north woods.

Stars in the night sky...

and the sound of the wind
blowing through the trees...

[wind blowing]

Nature.

And the sound of crickets
chirping...

[crickets' chirping]

[crickets' chirping]

Cool. Way to chirp, Treelo!

And all the sounds of the
forest...

[mimicking owl hooting]

An owl!

[laughs]

[mosquito buzzing]

Oh! A mosquito!

[laughs]

[lion's roar]

A Lion!

Hey! There are no
lions in this forest!

[laughs]

Hey, Bear, can we camp
oat for real!! Can we? Can we?

-Yeah! Camping fun...
-Well...

Please, please, PLEASE?

Well...why not?

I guess we could take
our sleeping bags out

by the Otter Pond for the night.

Yay!

C'mon, Treelo, we've
gotta get our camping stuff ok!

-Yeah, camping! Bye, Bear!!
-Bye, Bear!!

[indistinct chatting]

Okay you two. See ya later.

[laughs]

That Treelo, he sure can
make some interesting sounds...

[background music]

Yeah. Sounds.

Sounds are great to listen to.

Because no matter how quite it gets,

there's always some sound
around that you can hear.

Like if were to stop
right now and just listen...

let's see what we can hear...

[water dripping]

Hey, do you hear that?

[water dripping]

Yea, that's a drip...

...from the faucet
in the kitchen.

Okay let's listen some more...

[bird chirping]

Oh! Do you hear that?

[bird chirping]

Yeah, you know that sound.
Right, it's a bird...

[bird chirping]

I love that sound.

Oh, wait! Do you hear that...

It's breathing?... It's you!

Yeah, that's the sound you
make all the time

even when it's quiet.

Yeah, because we're
always breathing.

[laughing]

I just love listening to sounds!

♪ There's a bell

that's a duck ♪

there's some feet, on a floor! ♪

that rumble-y snore ♪

Now I can lie down and
listen to the waves

lapping against the shore

while Ojo and Treelo get
the camping stuff together.

It looks like a string.

PIP: Hey, good buddy?
Roger Daltry? Roger Daltry?

Come on in?

Let's follow it and see
what's on the other end.

It's Pop.

Come in Purple Ranger, Purple
Ranger,do you read me?

Hey, Pop.
Pop's playing telephone!

Take two cups,
run a string between them,

and you've got a telephone!

-Right, good buddy?
-Right you are, Smokey.

Smokey?
Well let's follow this string

and see what's
on the other end.

Do you have an idea?
It's Pip!

Clamdigger, Clamdigger
this here's Purple Ranger.

I read you loud and clear.
Loud and clear.

I get it. Pip and Pop have
made up names for other.

Pop is "Clamdigger" and
Pip is "Purple Ranger."

[noise]

I hear you got yourself
a big ol' bear

at your 1020 come on back?

smokey on my flipside

with a bubble gum machine goin
there, Clamdigger over.

Well, put that smokey on
a pregnant roller skate

and roll him on over here,

I am picking up what your
putting down.

Purple Ranger?

Rodger Moore, Rodger Hilliy
that purple roller skate

on a Clamdigger.
Hold on there! Bear?

-Yes

Well, I don't know what to say.

Clamdigger's on the line for ya!

[clearing throat]

Ten four, goodbuddy Clamdigger,

dadeo and smokey links, on the
hot dogs of life, over and up!

[noise]

Cool beans, smokey,
boiled, fried, steamed up

whatever you want micro zap it

come on back over,
and out, flip flop.

Flip Flop?

[laughs]

Hey, Bear, that was fun!

Can we do it again.
Again, again,again, again!!

Sorry guys I gotta go.

But where are you going,
good buddy?

Well I am going to listen
to some relaxing sounds

before going out on the big
camp out by the otter pond.

Oh! By the otter pond!
Hey, we live there!

Can we camp out, too?
We love camping!

Sure! That's a great idea.

Ojo, we're going on the camp
out, too.

Great! I was just looking
in Bear's bedroom

for some camping stuff.
Want to help?

But... but... guys but I was
going to relax on the bed

and... well...

Maybe now would be a good time
to visit my friend Tutter.

[background music]

Oh...

-Hey Tutter!
-Hello, Bear! [loud music]

What's with the music?

Bear, ever since Pip
and Pop taught me

to do the Otter Dance.
I've been wanting to dance!

To get down!
To break some moves!

[indistinct sound]

[laughs]

I can see that.

Yea, that's why I got
a new sound system.

Oh! A sound system that's
what we've been hearing.

I'm doin.' I'm doin'.
The otter. The otter. GO!

When you have a sound
system or a radio

you can play all kinds of music.
Well, Sounds terrific, Tutter.

Oh! Thank you Bear.

Hey, Bear,
do you want to dance with me?

I can play
the Cha-Cha-Cha for you!

[laughs]

Doing the Cha-Cha-Cha might
be fun, but, actually,

I came to ask you

if you want to go out on
a camp out with everybody!

Camp out? Camp out?

You mean where you
sleep... outside!?!

Yeah! Treelo, Ojo, Pip
and Pop and I

are all going on a camp out
by the otter pond. Sound fun?

Fun! Yeah... sleeping on
the cold, hard, lumpy ground,

getting att*cked by giant
buzzing mosquitoes,

and being kept awake all
night by those noisy crickets!

Fun? I don't think so, Bear!
Not for a mouse.

Not for this mouse!

Hey, Bear! Bear!
We're ready. Let's get going!

Yeah, I thought we were
going to camping Okay.

Hey, Tutter!
Are you coming camping?

This mouse is staying in a nice
warm and dry mouse hole.

ALL: Too bad,
we'll miss you Tutter...

Hmm... Hey, any of you
guys want to dance with me?

We would, Tutter, but we gotta
go camping. We're campin'.

-Okay is everybody comfy?
-Yeah! We sure are! You bet!

And does everybody have
their sleeping bag?

Yeah... Yep...
Got mine! Right here! Check!

Isn't this great?

-Yeah!
-Great.

-You ask...
-No you ask...

-I don't want to... you ask...
-Hey Ojo why don't you ask!

-Why do I always have to ask?
-Go on.

Ok Bear... um... this is
a great camping trip and all...

Yea, Ojo?

Well we all want to know...
what you actually

do on a camping trip?

Well,
you lie down under the stars

and look up at the sky,
and, well you know...

More. Hey we can play a game.

[laughs]

to sounds and figure out

what they are.

[dog barking]

That's a dog.
Yeah, he's got fleas.

-How can you tell?
-That little yelp at the end?

Flea bark.

Wow! You Otters are good.

I guess you can tell a lot
from sounds. Okay, let's listen.

[ambush sound]

Bear what's that sound?

That's a scary sound!

-Okay, okay guys, calm down...
-Bear! What should we do?

-Calm down everybody.
-What could that be? Maybe it's...

Let's find out what's
making that sound.

Luckily I have my flash light.

So what could be
making that sound? Hey!

[screaming]

Sorry everybody, sorry.
It's just me, little old me.

Little old Tutter
the mouse here, heh-heh.

But, Tutter, I thought
you didn't like camping.

What are you doing out here?

Well, I don't know Bear...
it's just it got kinda...

lonely in the Big Blue House

without all you guys there.
So I thought, maybe, heh, heh,

maybe it wouldn't be
so bad...out here.

Well,
we're glad you're here, Tutter.

-Yeah!!!!!!!
-Well, thanks guys.

C'mon.

You can share my sleeping
bag and sleep with me tonight

this way you'll
be warm and cozy.

Well, maybe if we look up
in the sky, we can find her.

Hello everybody.

ALL: Hi, Luna!

And what are you
and your friends doing out here

at the Otter Pond on
this beautiful night?

We're camping and listening
to sounds. It is great out here?

It certainly is, Bear.

Now you know what it's like
for me to always be out here,

up in the sky.

It's great.

Yes, well, tell me,
what did all of you do today?

Well, I made a tent and I did
some camping inside.

Oh! That sounds like fun.

Treelo made sounds. Sounds!

[laughs]

And we made a telephone!

That's grand.

Ah! Well, Miss Luna.
I was just dancing...

This mouse loves to dance!

anyway?

Well, I did get this
tape of relaxing sounds

but I never got a chance
to listen to them...

your relaxing sounds after all.

[cricket chirping]

[water gurgles]

The crickets, the water,

the wind in the trees...
what wonderful sounds!

it's not so bad out here!!
