[squeaking]

Who knew our kids were ocean animals?

Not me.

We're not really ocean animals.

We're just getting ready to watch a brand new

Wonder Walrus movie on TV!

It's gonna be... ork, ork, ork, ork, ork!

That means awesome.

Watching a movie is a great plan.

[thunder booming]

[nervous meowing]

It's okay, Gatita.

[meowing]

Well, I'd better get to the restaurant

before the storm gets worse.

Dads are funny when they try to speak walrus!

The movie's starting!

[laughing]

I suppose I can watch for a little while.

Help! The octopus took my toy!

[laughing]

Don't worry, little fishy. Wonder Walrus will help!

The little fishy needs their help!

[Javi]: There they are!

I'm Wonder Walrus!

And I'm Nando Narwhal!

[squeaking]

Let's catch that sneaky octopus!

They're getting closer...

You can do it, Wonder Walrus!

[Javi]: Huh?

What happened?

[thunder rumbling]

The TV stopped working!

Looks like we've got ourselves a power outage.

Probably from the storm.

But Wonder Walrus was just about to catch the octopus!

He catches the octopus?!

I don't know!

We didn't see what happened because of the power outage!

I'll call the electric company to see when Wonder Walrus...

I mean, the electricity, will come back on.

I guess we can't have a fun Wonder Walrus Day after all.

There's lots of ways to have Wonder Walrus fun.

We need electricity to charge your game.

But there is no electricity!

That's right. That's why I'm getting my flashlight.

[beeping]

[Rosie and Javi]: i¡Hola Abuela!

I'm hanging the painting I got today

at El Bazár del Sábado.

Huh? Ay. I'll fix it later.

¿Qué pasa?

There's a big storm here

and the power went out!

Now we can't watch our movie or play our video game!

I know exactly what you need to do!

[Javi]: Abuela?!

The tablet ran out of power!

And we can't charge it because there's no electricity!

But we didn't even get to say ciao bacalao!

[Mom]: Found the batteries!

In my sock drawer, just like I thought.

[frightened meowing]

Okay. Now I can go in the kitchen

and make Iggy lunch.

Lunch?

[both]: Wonder Walrus Ocean Smoothie!

[squeaking, barking]

Mom!

We would like two Wonder Walrus

Ocean Smoothies, please!

[Mom]: Uh...

We'll need yogurt and blueberries...

And don't forget the blender!

Why aren't you blending?

Um, kids?

Don't tell me!

The blender uses electricity too.

I said don't tell me.

So no ocean smoothies either?!

Well, I finally got through to the electric company.

What'd they say?

The power won't be back on for a while.

I guess Wonder Walrus will have to wait.

Aw...

No Wonder Walrus movie,

no Wonder Walrus video game,

no Wonder Walrus ocean smoothies!

We can't do anything Wonder Walrus!

I need to flop.

Breath in... [inhaling]

Now I'm ready to figure this out!

There must be something we can do without electricity.

Hey, Rosie. Did you know that a long time ago

before Papá and I were born,

even before Abuela was born,

people didn't have electricity at all?

[together]: Well, that's new information!

How did people watch TV?

There was no TV. No video games either.

What about ocean smoothies?

No smoothies. Or blenders.

No smoothies?!

How about we pretend we live in a time

before people had electricity,

and then you'll get an idea

of how things were done back then.

i¡OÓrale!

[giggling]

Look, Gatita! We're living before electricity!

For pretend.

[meowing]

Time for lunch, young'uns!

[giggling]

Hey. This is the stuff for ocean smoothies.

Right you are! But since this is before electricity...

we're going to smoosh the ingredients by hand.

Smoosh, smoosh, smoosh!

[both]: Smooosh, smoosh, smoosh!

Rosie's Rule:

smooshing a smoothie is smooshtastical!

[gasps]

Two ocean smoothies!

-Dee-yummy! -Mmm!

[Papá]: Pioneer Papá is here!

And Pioneer Iggy!

How about a good ol' fashion game of Wonder Bowling?

But Papá, we can't play my video game.

What is this video game they speak of?

I do not know.

[giggling]

I'm talking about....

this bowling game!

[Rosie]: Mama macaroni!

It's a bowling game in our living room!

No electricity needed!

[Javi]: I knocked them down! Yes!

[Rosie]: Me too! Me too!

And now, it's the best part of the day.

Before electricity and TV,

people told stories and watched each other act them out!

I know a supertastical story!

One day, a cute fishy was swimming in the sea.

Swim, swim, swim!

I'm fishy Iggy!

Then came a sneaky octopus,

and he took the fishy's toy!

[laughing]

Hey, oc-pus! Give that back!

Just then...

I'm Wonder Walrus...

And I'm Nando Narwhal!

[squeaking, barking]

[giggling]

[Mom barking] I'll get you!

[Mom barking] You mean octopus get back here!

[laughing]

Can you believe it?

We're having a supertastical day,

without electricity!

Yeah!

[Mom barking]

Gotta go!

♪ A long time ago

♪ It really used to be

♪ That there was no such thing

♪ As electricity

♪ No computer screens to watch

♪ No phones to make a call

♪ No video games or TV

♪ No electricity at all

♪ So what did people do back then ♪

♪ They played with toys and games ♪

♪ They told each other stories

♪ And they even put on plays

♪ They cooked food over the fire ♪

♪ And read books by candle light ♪

♪ No electricity to help them

♪ But they seemed to do alright ♪

♪ A long time ago

♪ There actually used to be

♪ A world where people had no electricity ♪

♪ But back then everyone

♪ They all had different kinds of fun ♪

♪ And it was long before the time had come ♪

♪ For electricity

[squeaking]

Muahahaha!

[both]: The power's back!

Yay!

See, Gatita? The storm's over.

No more thunder.

[meowing]

Now we can finish the Wonder Walrus movie!

[Papá]: Did you say movie?

Oh, I've gotta know if they saved the fishy's toy!

[giggling]

Rosie's Rule: You can do lots of things without electricity.

But when it comes back on, you've gotta find out

what happened to the octopus.

[Javi]: They caught him!

[Javi and Rosie]: Woo-hoo!

Ah, I always knew they would.

- Rosie Goes Camping.

[giggling]

[Rosie]: Pillow. Stuffie.

Purple Knight book.

Wonder Walrus puzzle.

I'm all packed!

[grunting]

Ready to go, Iggy?

Weddy, Wosie!

Do you know where we're going?

Yes! No.

We're going camping!

It's my first ever camping trip!

And yours too.

Ooh!

What camping?

It's when you sleep in a tent

and have a campfire, and...

I wonder what else you do!

I've gotta know!

♪ I have a great big question

♪ And I just can't let it go

♪ Yo quiero saberlo

♪ I really gotta know

What will we do on our camping trip?

Maybe...

♪ I'll build a treehouse where we'll sleep so happily ♪

♪ Eat s'mores with a bear underneath a canopy ♪

♪ I'll sail on a hot dog that's also a boat ♪

♪ And splash in the lake with a drum-playing goat ♪

[bleating]

[giglging] Woo-hoo!

A goat that plays drums would be supertastical.

[Mom]: Anyone here ready for a Fuentes family camping trip?

Ooh, ooh! I am!

Iggy too!

Then follow me, little campers!

¿Qué pasa calabaza?

i¡Mucho empanada!

I'm super excited to go camping,

so vámanos!

Uh... Did anyone hear me say vámonos?

We're not quite ready, campeona.

I need to finish packing the tools.

You need tools to go camping?

Well, that's new information!

What kind of tools?

We'll need this mallet

to bang the tent stakes into the ground.

And we'll bring this flashlight...

To make shadow puppets?!

And for giving us light at nighttime,

so we can see where we're going.

But mostly for shadow puppets.

[giggling]

And of course,

we'll use these skewers

to roast marshmallows for s'mores.

Mmm, yummy s'mores!

Any room in there for my sketch pad?

[Papá]: Into the bag they go!

The tools are packed,

the family is all together,

the cat is in the trunk...

Wait, what?!

[meowing]

Rosie's Rule: Sometimes, your fluffball kitty

wants to go camping, too.

Lo siento, Gatita.

You can't go camping with us.

[meowing]

Bye, Gatita!

[sad meowing]

[Papá]: Don't worry, Gatita.

Javi will come to check on you and we'll be back tomorrow.

[meowing]

Let's begin our Fuentes family camping trip!

[all cheering]

[Rosie]: Are we there yet?

Are we there yet?

Now?

[birds chirping]

[Mom]: Yes!

[Rosie]: Woo-hoo!

Ah... smell that fresh camping air!

I can already feel myself relaxing.

Can we put up our tent now?

[laughing] Of course!

One tent coming up!

I'll get the bag of tools!

Bag of snacks. Bag of bug spray.

Bag of something that looks like it's been in the car

for a really long time...

Um, Marco? I don't see the bag of tools.

Uh-oh. You didn't forget the green bag, did you?

Of course I didn't forget the green bag!

I put it next to the car,

then I put Gatita inside the house,

then I got in the car...

[gasps] I forgot the green bag!

My sketch pad is in there!

I need that for my creating!

Okay, everyone. So we don't have tools.

That doesn't mean we can't have the best camping trip ever!

Camping is an adventure!

Mom's right. An adventure!

I guess we could try to put up the tent without tools.

That's the spirit!

We'll put up the tent without tools!

[wind howling] Ahh!

See? An adventure!

Okay, while you three work on that,

Papá and I will set up the campfire for dinner. Okay?

Okay. The first thing to do to set up our tent is...

I got it, Crystal!

[humming]

Did I do it?

Not exactly.

What?! Are you sure?

See?

Look! We put up our tent!

And we didn't even need tools!

I'm impressed. We did a really good job.

Oh, yeah! It's a tent!

And it just... blew away.

What?!

Oh, oh, oh! Wait!

[panting]

[grunting]

Phew. There.

Tent. Stay.

[wind howling]

Rosie's Rule: Sometimes, tents don't listen very well.

That's the last time you get away from me.

But how are we going to get the tent to stay?

Papá said if we bang these stakes into the ground,

the wind won't blow our tent away.

But we need the mallet to do that.

And it's in the green bag!

Well, maybe we can just push them in.

Push!

[grunting]

Uh-oh

[wind howling]

I'll get the tent.

Hmm...

What can I do now?

I know who can help!

I'm calling Abuela!

I'm at El Bosque de Aragón

watching people fly their kites!

We're camping, but we forgot the tools,

and now our tent keeps blowing away!

Camping is so relaxing.

[Mom]: Who wants to help set up for s'mores?

I'm not done relaxing...

Ugh!Again?

We've tried and tried,

but nothing we do keeps our tent from blowing away

and we really need our tools,

and... I need to flop.

Breathe in... [inhaling]

Breathe out... [exhaling]

Wiggle about.

Now I'm ready to figure this out!

i¡Vamos a ver!

Oye, silly Iggy! I need that.

But Iggy want it!

You want a piece of tree bark?

i¡Sí! Iggy love it!

Iggy, Papá needs the tree bark.

For... What's it for?

Well, since I don't have the shovel,

I'm using this tree bark to dig a hole for the campfire.

Miren.

Mama Macaroni!

[Rosie]: You're using the tree bark like a tool!

i¡Exacto!

[Mom]: And since I don't have the skewers

for the marshmallows, I'm using these sticks.

Miren, campeones,

a long, long time ago,

people used tools from nature all the time.

That's a supertastical idea!

We can find something in nature

and use it like a mallet

to bang the stakes into the ground!

Like this...pinecone!

Nope. Too pinecone-y.

[Iggy grunting] Huh?

Iggy found wock!

That one's too big, Iggy.

But this one might work.

It's working! It's banging the stake into the ground!

I'll grab another rock and help.

[Crystal]: There.

All the stakes are in.

So now if there's another gust of wind...

[all gasping]

It won't blow away!

[all cheering]

Thanks, rock! You're the best tool ever!

♪ Or maybe half a coconut held water like a bowl ♪

♪ A stick could help them reach things ♪

♪ Way up high or way down low ♪

[Rosie]: Wow, nature's just full of amazing tools!

♪ So many years ago

♪ When people needed tools

♪ Nature gave them all the things ♪

♪ They'd ever have to use

♪ But that was long ago

♪ A different time you know

♪ A time when the only kinds of tools ♪

♪ They came from nature

This stick works great!

Mmm!

These s'mores are dee-yummy!

Rosie's Rule:

You can use tools from nature to do all kinds of things!

Like using a campfire to make shadow puppets!

[laughing]

it's time for a Fuentastic day at the lake!

[clattering]

[Papá]: Swim shorts on, goggles grabbed...

Ay, I forgot. They're in the garage.

[grunting]
