How can I keep the ocean clean?
- Hi, I'm Niko from the Sanibel Sea School.
When the other students and I do beach cleanups,
one of the most common kinds of trash we find
is the plastic bag.
The ocean is covered in plastic bags.
This is dangerous,
because the ocean animals
eat the plastic bags
because it looks like food.
To a sea turtle, a plastic bag looks like a jellyfish.
That's why we use reusable bags!
[upbeat music]
At the local grocery store,
we gave away reusable bags made of bamboo
to all of our neighbors on Sanibel Island.

By using reusable bags,
we are being good neighbors to the ocean too.
♪ ♪
Stop using plastic
and make the ocean happy!

Fin whales arethe second longest creature
in the ocean!

Fin whales, here we come!

I'll bet you're growing every day, right?
Well, even when you're grown-ups,
you'll never be as big as fin whales!
Fin whales have long, slender bodies
that can measure up to feet long
and weigh as much as tons,
making us the second largest mammals
in the history of the world,
competing even with the largest of the dinosaurs.
In fact, the only living creature
who is bigger than a fin whale
is my close relative, the blue whale.
- Hey, everybody, Dunk here. I'm sure you've seen me
puff up before, but have you ever wondered
why do puffer fish do that?
Well, puffer fish can be very brave fish,
so if there is a bigger,
scarier fish swimming around us,
we just puff up and scare 'em away!
When we're not puffing up, we dogface puffer fish
like to do lots of other fun stuff too,
like exploring all around our homes
and finding yummy stuff to eat,
like sponges, mollusks, or even algae.
Num, num, num, num. Save some for me!
- Hey, kiddos, it's your buddy Wave.
I'll bet most of you go to bed at night
and wake up in the morning, right?
Well, I'm the same way.
I'm a day octopus.
Many octopuses are nocturnal and are awake at night
but not us day octopuses.
We stay awake all day long.
Don't believe me?
Ask that octopus about it--
if you can find him.
Octopuses are great at camouflaging themselves.

- Hi, I'm Niko from the Sanibel Sea School.
When the other students and I do beach cleanups,
one of the most common kinds of trash we find
is the plastic bag.
The ocean is covered in plastic bags.
This is dangerous,
because the ocean animals
eat the plastic bags
because it looks like food.
To a sea turtle, a plastic bag looks like a jellyfish.
That's why we use reusable bags!

At the local grocery store,
we gave away reusable bags made of bamboo
to all of our neighbors on Sanibel Island.

we are being good neighbors to the ocean too.

Well, even when you're grown-ups,
you'll never be as big as fin whales!
Fin whales have long, slender bodies
that can measure up to feet long
and weigh as much as tons,
making us the second largest mammals
in the history of the world,
competing even with the largest of the dinosaurs.
In fact, the only living creature
who is bigger than a fin whale
is my close relative, the blue whale.
- Hey, everybody, Dunk here. I'm sure you've seen me
puff up before, but have you ever wondered
why do puffer fish do that?
Well, puffer fish can be very brave fish,
so if there is a bigger,
scarier fish swimming around us,
we just puff up and scare 'em away!
When we're not puffing up, we dogface puffer fish
like to do lots of other fun stuff too,
like exploring all around our homes
and finding yummy stuff to eat,
like sponges, mollusks, or even algae.
Num, num, num, num. Save some for me!

I'll bet most of you go to bed at night
and wake up in the morning, right?
Well, I'm the same way.
I'm a day octopus.
Many octopuses are nocturnal and are awake at night
but not us day octopuses.
We stay awake all day long.

Octopuses are great at camouflaging themselves.
