02x20 - Percy's Predicament

Daisy's work in the country
was full of surprises.

She was frightened of cows.

She was lazy and stubborn.

Toby brought Henrietta to the station
where Percy was.

“I see Daisy's left the milk again.”

“l'll make a special journey.

“You would think I had nothing to do."

“T'll take the milk. You fetch my trucks."

The stationmaster agreed.

Percy had never been to the quarry.

He ordered the trucks about.

The trucks grumbled.
“This is Toby's place.

“Percy's got no right to push us around.”

They whispered and passed the word,
“Pay Percy out.”

“Come along. No nonsense.”

“We'll give him nonsense."

They were so quiet,
Percy thought they were under control.

They saw a notice ahead.

“Peep-peep. Brakes, guard.”

But the trucks surged forward.

“On, on," they cried.
"Help!" whistled Percy.

The man on duty rushed to warn traffic.

He was too late to switch Percy
to the runaway siding.

Gripping the rails,
Percy sped into the yard. "Look out!"

The brake van was in pieces.
The driver had jumped clear.

Percy was stranded.

The Fat Controller arrived.
Toby and Daisy had cleared up.

Percy remained on his perch of trucks.

“We must run the line
with Toby and a diesel.

“This is an awkward predicament."

“Lam sorry, sir."
"Stay there till we are ready.

“It'll teach you to be careful."

Percy sighed. The trucks groaned.

He understood awkward predicaments.

The Fat Controller told Daisy off.

“I send lazy engines away.”

Daisy was ashamed. "Toby says you
worked hard after Percy's accident.

“So one more chance.”

“Thank you. I will work hard.
Toby will help me.”

“What Toby doesn't know
isn't worth knowing.

“Toby's experienced.”

Next day Thomas came back.

Percy was sent to be mended.

Annie and Clarabel were delighted
and Thomas took them for a run.

All are now friends
and Toby has taught Daisy a lot.

She shooed a cow off the line.
