(giggling)

- Zou's camouflage.

(chirping)

(Zou): Grandpa! Come quick!

- Uh Zou?

Where are you?

(giggling)

- Over here, Grandpa.

(chuckling)

- Ah, there you are...

You hid yourself very well.

(giggles)

- I was trying camouflage myself!

- And you certainly did!

- I'm doing a school project on animals.

And there was this programme on TV about camouflage.

So I thought I could do my project on animals

you can't see easily.

- That's a great idea, Zou.

I'm sure you can find lots camouflaged animals.

Where would you like to look first?

- Right here, Grandpa!

I just need to get my camera and notebook.

(laughing)

Grandpa, look!

That little green bug's the same colour as the plant.

- So it is...

Well spotted, Zou!

(camera clicks)

- Some green bugs hide on green stems,

so they can't be seen.

- Well, that ladybird certainly isn't camouflaged.

- No, it's easy to spot...

(chuckling) Oh, spot!

(laughing)

- Spot!

Good one, Zou!

Oh? See that Zou?

That woodlouse there...

- Oh yes! It's the same colour as the stone.

(camera clicks)

Woodlouse under a stone.

(gasps) Look! Over there!

A brown butterfly.

- You know, I think it might be a moth.

They come out at night.

- If it's a moth, he'll be tired!

He'll have been awake all night.

(camera clicks)

Grandpa? Can we go to the park please?

We might find a lot more animals there!

- Oh, good idea, Zou.

It's just the very day for a trip to the park!

(chirping excitedly)

(bright music)

(giggling)

- Zou!

- Hi, Zac. Hello, Mr Zoey!

- Hello there!

Good to see you both!

- Hey Zou! Want to play on the seesaw?

- Sorry Zac. I'm doing my school project.

On camouflage.

- What's cammer... fledge?

- Camouflage. You know; animals that are hard to see.

We could look together!

Do you want to help me?

- Yeah!

- Oh wow! Look there, Zac!

That's a stick insect.

- No it isn't. It's just a bit of broken twig.

(giggling)

- Watch this.

(gasps)

- You're right!

(camera clicks)

- Amazing, isn't it!

- Zac? We'd better be getting back to the shop soon.

Are you ready?

- Oh Dad, do we have to go now?

- Why doesn't Zac stay with Zou and me?

We could bring him back later.

- Well, that's very kind! Thank you!

(together): Yay!

See you later, Zac!

- Bye dad!

- I know, let's see if we can find any camouflaged animals on the beach!

But I'll need to get some bits of twigs and leaves

for my project first.

- I'll help!

- Thanks for helping me collect all these for my project, Zac.

You too, Grandpa.

They'll show the sort of places where animals hide.

- Cool!

- Oh, hello!

(together): Hi, Zowie.

- Hello there! You two look like you're having fun.

- Zac and Grandpa are helping with my school project.

It's about camouflaged animals!

- Well you've come to the right place.

There are lots of animals hidden around here,

if you know where to look.

(bright music)

(chuckling)

- Oh, Zac!

- Woah!

(laughing)

- Brilliant! Thanks, Zowie!

I've got some really good photos!

- You're welcome.

- I didn't know so many animals used cafferlarge!

(laughs)

- Camouflage!

That makes two of us.

(laughing)

- You've certainly helped to find lots of amazing creatures.

- My pleasure.

- What do you think?

Shall we go back home for a bit of a snack?

- Ooh, yes, please, Grandpa!

As soon as we've got some stones and seaweed for my project.

- I'll give you a hand with that.

- Oh! Hi, Zou! Hi, Zac!

(together): Hi!

- Hey,

what are you doing with all that stuff?

- We've been collecting it for my project.

Zac's been helping me.

- I'm doing nocturnal animals.

- Ooh! I've got one of those!

Look!

- Uh... that's a tree.

- No, look. It's a moth.

Moths come out at night and that one's camouflaged!

That's what my project's about

- Awww, he's cute!

Camouflage is a great idea, Zou!

(chuckling)

- Zou! That's it!

- Er...what is?

- I've been trying to think of an idea

for an art installation piece.

- Ah ha.

- I've tried out a few things,

but none of them were quite right.

Until you mentioned your project.

Camouflage!

- Well done, Zou!

- Yes! Well done!

- This is so, so exciting!

I can see it now...

- What? Where?

- Well, only in my head so far, Zou,

but soon everyone will be able to see it.

With a little bit of help from you.

We just need to pin this last bit

and we're good to go!

- Let me help you with that.

- There! Perfect.

Right. Let's get to work.

First we need to paint this white.

- Um... It's white already.

- Ah; but, there are lots of different shades of white.

I've mixed the perfect one.

You'll see.

- Finished!

- Thanks everyone! You've done a great job!

- So what do we do now?

- Promise you won't tell anyone?

(giggling)

- So what happens now?

- Perhaps we're too early.

I thought Zou was in this.

Where is he?

- I don't know.

- I'm looking forward to this.

- Hello everyone and thank you for coming

to my installation called...

Hmmm, I'll tell you that later.

Animals use camouflage to hide from us

and to hide from each other.

Zou inspired me for this art event.

I can't see him to thank him, but...

watch this.

(gentle music)

The title of this piece is:

"Now you see them, now you don't!"

(applause)

- My word! That is clever.

(impressed reactions)

- Yes, and to think Zou gave Zena the idea.

- And I helped to paint it.

- I've said we should do more installation pieces

in our gallery.

They're supposed to be the hot ticket at the moment!

- Yes dear, so I've heard.

- I wish I'd thought of camouflage for my school project.

- What have you done, Zinnia?

- Animals that live underground.

- It was a lovely idea.

Or so I thought until Zinnia covered our lawn in holes

she dug for creatures.

(laughing)

- Thank you to my wonderful helpers,

Zou, Elzee and Zac.

Not to mention Zou's Grandpa for his help with the painting.

And thank you all so much for coming.

I do hope you've enjoyed it.

(cheering, applause)

- Bravo!

- Congratulations!

- Well done!

- Please stay for refreshments afterwards.

- These guava juices are exquisite!

- Yes! Now you see them...

now you don't!

(laughs)

- Oh daddy!

- I'll add these photos to my project,

they'll be a brilliant ending.

I'm glad my idea for a school project helped Elzee's mum too!

(giggling)

Elzee, Zac!

Now you see us, now you don't!

(laughing)

(playful music)
