and I'm about to send

four of my favorite Hoobs

down to Earth to find

(snoring)

- Yes.

- So what's our big

surprise this year.

- (laughing) Ah.

- [Tula] Ta-da!.

- Eh, is that our surprise,

because we wondered what it

was when we saw it yesterday.

- You saw it.

You looked in my

hoobie hidey hole?

- Well, we just

had a little look.

- But it's still a surprise.

I mean, look at it.

It's from a place called Russia.

- Well's it's certainly a

surprising shape for a doll.

- What's it made of?

- Wood.

And you didn't know I was going

to give it to you, did you?

- Well we weren't

absolutely totally sure.

- Right, so it's a surprise.

- Yes, but is it a big surprise?

Because on your Hoobie

Twizzle Tuft Day

you're supposed to give

your friends a big surprise.

- But you mean could

Tula have given us

a bigger surprise

than the Russian doll?

- [Hubba Hubba] Hubba,

Hubba, Hubba, Hubba.

- Could Tula have given

us a bigger surprise

than the Russian doll?

That's an excellent

question for Hoob News.

It's something every

Hoob'll want to know.

- Especially me.

- It's perfect for

my Hoobopaedia.

- When I saw your doll

I didn't go, "Ah."

- Neither did I.

- What makes a

surprise surprising?

- How do you give

someone a big surprise?

- By giving them a Russian doll.

- Ooh, I have an idea.

Why don't you try to give

each other some surprises,

and then see whose surprise

makes you go, "Ooh!"

- And then we

could work out why.

- Exactly.

- I've got one, here.

- Sorry Tula, that is

still not a surprise.

- I know, I'm gonna make

you a surprise breakfast.

(playful music)

Surprise breakfast, hoobie bun,

now that surprise, surprise.

(laughs)

Dinosaur.

Breakfast is ready!

Where are they?

(laughing)

Here's your surprise

breakfast, guys.

I wonder what's inside?

- A stuffed dinosaur.

- Yeah, that surprised

you didn't it, ay, ay?

- I didn't go "Whoo!"

If that's what you mean.

- Me neither.

- Aw, c'mon guys, a

dinosaur in your hoobie bun

has got to be a big surprise.

You should have

both gone, "Whoo."

- But we saw you put

it there, Groove.

- Yes, that's it!

We'd seen your doll,

and we saw Groove

put the dinosaur

in the hoobie bun.

So a surprise must be something

you don't know is

going to happen.

- [Roma] Roma, Roma, Roma.

- Oh, here's Roma.

- Surprise!

(laughing)

- That made me go, "Ah."

- Yeah, me to, I thought

it was going to be Roma.

- Yeah, me too.

- That's right.

You were surprised because

you weren't expecting me.

- I wasn't that surprised.

- I'd say a surprise is

something that's unexpected,

wouldn't you?

- Did you have something

else to tell us, Hubba Hubba?

- Did I?

- Oh, oh yes.

I found a story on

Hoobnet from a Tiddlypeep

about something unexpected.

(upbeat music)

- [Tiddlypeep] It

was springtime.

(upbeat music)

The swirly twirly bird did

what she did every year.

She laid her eggs.

One.

Two.

Three.

Four.

The swirly twirly

bird sat on her eggs

and waited for them to hatch.

While she waited she

practiced her singing.

♪ La, la, la, la, la, la, la ♪

She did her wing

flapping exercises.

- Up and down, and up and down

and stretch, and relax.

- [Tiddlypeep] And then, the

first egg started to cr*ck.

The swirly twirly bird

jumped off the nest.

She was so excited!

- Crrr-rack!

- [Tiddlypeep] Out popped the

first baby swirly twirly bird.

- Crrr-rack!

- [Tiddlypeep] Out

popped the second.

- Crrr-rack!

- [Tiddlypeep] Out

popped the third.

They were all the same

size, the same shape,

and they all made the same

incredibly loud noise.

- Tweet, tweet, tweet,

tweet, tweet, tweet, tweet.

- Oh, aren't they gorgeous!

- [Tiddlypeep]

Cried their mother

in the way mums always do.

But what about the fourth egg.

She waited,

(crash)

and waited,

(crash)

and waited.

Then.

- Crrr-rack, whee, oh, eee!

- [Tiddlypeep] Out

popped a beautiful blue

swirly, twirly, girly!

"Ooh," gasped the mother bird.

"What a surprise!"

And from that moment on,

life for the swirly twirly bird

was one big surprise

after another.

(upbeat music)

- Well, that was a big surprise.

- Yeah.

- That bird thought one

thing was going to happen,

and then something else did.

- That's right, yeah,

she went, "Ooh!"

- Yes, yes, but I don't

think the swirly twirly girly

was as big a surprise

as my Russian doll.

- Oh

♪ What do we say ♪

♪ We shout hoob hoob hooray. ♪

- Someone's singing.

- Yeah.

- Who could it be?

♪ 'Cause it's Tula's

Hoobie Twizzle Tuft Day ♪

- Where's it coming from?

♪ Hoobs everywhere ♪

♪ In the absence of hair ♪

♪ Just up there ♪

♪ And the thing about

these Hoobie Twizzers ♪

♪ Is that they some attention ♪

♪ From a pair of

Hoobie scissors. ♪

- [All] Oh, Hubba

Hubba, it's you.

- Yes.

(all laughing)

- I was putting on

a different voice.

- Well that was a surprise.

- But it wasn't a huge surprise.

- Well, it was to me.

You should use that voice

more often Hubba Hubba.

It suits you.

(laughs)

- You have to admit, it was

a pretty good surprise, Tula.

We weren't expecting Hubba

Hubba to sing like that.

- Okay, it was a good surprise.

But still not as big

a surprise as my doll.

- Oh.

- Ah maybe,

maybe not.

I only came to say

I think you should

ask some Tiddlypeeps

to surprise you.

- Yes, I bet the Tiddlypeeps

are hoople doople

duper at surprises.

- Maybe so, but I'm not going.

- Alright, I will.

(playful music)

Oh dear, we need

some Tiddlypeeps

to give us some surprises,

and they're nowhere to be seen.

I think we've made a

hoobie booboo (laughs)

There are no Tiddlypeeps.

- Boo!

(gasps)

- Boo!

- (gasps) Oh!

- Boo!

(laughing)

- Oh now that was a surprise.

I love surprises.

I wonder if I can find any more?

(upbeat music)

- Do you know a noise that

would give me a surprise?

(screaming)

Hoobie galoobie!

Whew!

Dooble doop, what's your name?

- My name's Sarah.

- Sarah, have you ever

given anybody a surprise.

- Yeah, I have.

When my brother goes upstairs

before me after breakfast

to brush his teeth,

I wait 'til he's not looking,

and then I sneak up the stairs

and I hide behind the door,

and then when he's

not expecting it,

I go, "Wah!"

And he goes, (gasps).

- I'm not surprised,

I did that too.

- And then he goes,

"Don't do that again."

- Sarah, is it?

- Yes.

- Make a note of the Groove.

(laughing)

And what's your name?

- I'm Nichola.

- Have you ever had a surprise?

- Yes.

- What happened?

- Well my sister, she

goes up to my bedroom

and hides in the cupboards,

and I open up the

cupboards in my bedroom

and she goes, "Wah!"

And I went (gasps).

And that gives me

a big surprise.

(laughing)

- That is a surprise.

What's your name?

- Nichola.

- Nichola, I hope you're

getting this Groove.

And this Groove is Sarah.

Thank you very much

Tiddlypeeps (laughs)

Two more surprises for

Hoob News, thank you.

Hooble toodle doo.

- Hooble toodle doo.

(upbeat music)

- That boo thing

was hoobie galoobie.

- I never knew when it

was going to happen.

It certainly made me go (gasps).

- But compared to

my Russian doll...

- Oh Tula please.

- Let's try to do

some hoobie boos.

- You go first, Groove.

- Okay (inhales).

- Boo!

(gasping)

(laughing)

- Right, my turn.

- Yeah, okay.

- Where should I hide?

- Well, here's

quite a good place.

- Oh yes.

- Yeah, go on.

- Thank you Groove.

- I don't believe this.

- [Groove] Ready?

- Yep.

- Boo-o-o!

(laughing)

- It's my turn now.

And this time, I'm going to

hide somewhere different.

- Oh, where?

- Over here.

- Ah hem.

- Yeah, what?

- Aren't you

forgetting something?

You're not going

(gasps), are you?

- Oh yeah, that's right.

Wonder why that is?

- Because, a surprise

is only a surprise

if you're not expecting it.

You knew when the

boos were coming.

And where they were coming from.

- Yeah, you're right.

- Hmm, I knew something

wasn't quite right (laughs).

This surprise thing isn't

as easy as it looks, is it?

- No, which is why

my Russian doll

is still the biggest surprise.

- [Roma] Roma, Roma, Roma.

- Roma, no wait a

minute, wait a minute.

- What?

- It might be Hubba Hubba

pretending to be Roma.

(laughing)

- We know it's you

pretending to be Roma.

And because we know it,

it won't be a surprise.

(all laughing)

- It is Roma.

- Sorry Roma, we thought you

were going to be Hubba Hubba.

- Yeah.

- Groove, go and

get the hoobie cam.

I need Roma to see me.

I'm going to show her my doll.

- Hooble doo poobs.

I'm here to tell you about

a very surprising creature.

- Roma, it's my Hoobie

Twizzle Tuft Day,

and I want to give

you a big surprise.

- Oh, happy Hoobie

Twizzle Tuft Day, Tula.

You can surprise me in a second.

Now, this creature

can hide itself

from everyone and everything.

- Can I show you my

surprise now, Roma?

- In a second Tula.

You see it looks

a bit like a log

just floating on the

surface of the water.

Then suddenly

- There's a great big

creature behind you!

- Yes, I know, it's a crocodile.

That's what my

report is all about.

- That's a big surprise.

That made me go (gasps).

- But not as big a

surprise as this!

- (gasping) Oh, Tula,

what a surprise!

Oh, this is Roma Hoob going

to have a little lie down

to get over the biggest

surprise she's had all day.

Phew.

- There, you see.

It gave Roma a huge surprise.

- Oh yes, Roma

certainly went, "Oh!"

- I think you'll find that

actually she went (gasps).

- And all because

of my Russian doll.

- Alright, it surprised her,

but it still didn't surprise me.

- But it could have

if you hadn't peeked

in my hoobie hidey hole.

- Tula, it's just a wooden doll.

- It's a surprise.

- It's a doll.

- A surprise.

- [Hubba Hubba] Hubba

Hubba Hubba Hubba.

- Here's Hubba Hubba.

- Thank goodness.

- Hey Tula, I know

how we can find

an answer to this

problem once and for all.

Why don't you take

your Russian doll

and show some Tiddlypeeps.

They'll know if

it's a big surprise.

- Yes, I will, the

Tiddlypeeps can decide.

- And whatever they say, Tula,

promise you'll accept it.

- On my hoobie heart.

- My doll!

- Hmm?

- Groove!

(upbeat music)

- I put it somewhere surprising.

(upbeat music)

- Ah, yeah.

my name (laughs)

Tiffany, I've got a problem.

Today is my Hoobie

Twizzle Tuft Day.

It's the day we

celebrate the first day

our twizzle tuft got snipped,

and we decorate our

hoobie twizzle tuft.

Can you see, I've got

all sorts of things

in my twizzle tuft?

And what we have to do

is to give our friends

a big surprise.

Now I've given my

friends a surprise

but they don't think

it's a big surprise.

Can I show you?

- Yes.

(gasps)

- You went (gasps).

Groove, Iver, she went, "Whoo!"

(laughing)

Were you surprised

because it's blue?

- No.

- Is it because it's wooden?

- No.

- Is it because it's Russian?

- No.

- Well, why were you surprised?

- I'll tell you why it's

a really big surprise.

- (long gasp) Hoobie galoobie!

This is a big surprise,

hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo.

Hooble toodle doo.

- Hooble toodle doo.

(playful music)

- I still say that crocodile

was the biggest surprise.

- Nope, no, the girly coming

out of the egg was bigger.

- Did you hear that?

Did you hear what

the Tiddlypeep said?

My Russian doll is

the biggest surprise.

- Yes, we saw it, Tula.

- But it still doesn't

make me go (gasps).

- Just you wait.

- C'mon, time for Hoob News.

(upbeat music)

and Toodle too ♪

♪ We've got a big

surprise for you ♪

- Never been more ready

- Then, off you go.

all you Hoobs out there.

Welcome to Hoob news.

The news show for

Hoobs everywhere.

I'm Iver.

- I'm Tula.

- And I'm Groove.

- And today, we've been

asking the question,

- Could Tula have given

us a bigger surprise

than the Russian doll?

- And the answer is

- No.

- No?

- To help us find the answer,

we did the following tests.

- [Groove] We tried

surprising each other.

- [Iver] We heard a

really surprising story,

and we asked some

Tiddlypeeps to surprise us.

- We saw a really

surprising crocodile,

my personal choice

I have to say.

- But none of these match

the amazing, incredible,

hooble dooble

duper Russian doll.

Watch.

(playful music)

(gasps)

- Even smaller!

(playful music)

(gasping)

- Teeny tiny.

(laughing)

- And why is this

such a big surprise?

Because, you didn't know

there were more dolls inside.

- No.

- It's unexpected, it

makes you go (gasping).

- That's fantastic, Tula.

- Yeah.

- Wait a minute, did

you know it did that?

- No, not until the

Tiddlypeep told me.

- So the Tiddlypeeps

are right once again.

There's no bigger surprise

than Tula's Russian doll.

- Let's give Tula

a hoobie hooray.

- Hoob, hoob, hooray!

- And it's thanks once

again to Iver, Tula, Groove

and Roma, for giving

Hoobs everywhere

a little peep into

world of peeps.

Remember, wherever you

are, have a nice day

and hooble toodle doo.

- Hooble toodle doo.

- Do you know something Tula?

That was the best Hoobie

Twizzle Tuft Day surprise

I've ever had.

- Oh me too.

You know, I've never done

so many (gasps) in my life.

(all laughing)
