That's what gave me
the idea for this!

- I've been dancing
with a mermaid.

It was the hooby-grooviest
thing ever.

Right from the beginning

by the sea ♪
♪ The breeze blew
gently all around me ♪
♪ Then from my rocks I
glimpsed some locks of green ♪

♪ A mermaid stood before me ♪
♪ She sang a gentle song ♪
♪ The most hoobacious
mermaid this hoob ♪
♪ Had ever seen ♪
- Then what happened Groove?
♪ She took my little hooby-paw ♪
♪ She took his paw,
she took his paw ♪
♪ We dived right
down and then I saw ♪
♪ And then he saw,
and then he saw ♪
♪ An ancient ship, two
shells for chairs ♪
♪ It really caught me unawares ♪
♪ This mermaid was the
answer to my prayers ♪
♪ We had a cup of
Hoobo-feast and ♪
♪ then dined on
bread and cheese ♪
♪ And then she said,
Groove, dance with me ♪
♪ Oh what a happy girl I'll be ♪
♪ So I went waltzing on
the water with a mermaid ♪
♪ I whirled and I twirled
and I danced my cares away ♪
♪ Waltzing on the

♪ It's the hoobiest-grooviest
way to spend your day ♪

- Roma turned up!

- Yes, Roma joined
in the dancing.
- Groove, how could

(Roma ringing)
- Here she is, perhaps

- [All] Hoobledoop Roma!
- Look behind me
Hoobs, how about that?
I'm on top of the world.
- It's certainly
very beautiful Roma.
- Yeah.
- Well it is Iver, it is.
But actually it's not
as good as it looks.
I've been climbing for ages now,
and I've nearly
run out of water.
- Oh dear.
- Look, in this
bottle is the only
water I've got left.
And I am rather thirsty.
- Are you okay Roma?
- Oh yes, don't worry
Tula, I'll be fine.
Now, where was I?
Oh yes, this mountain
is very interesting.
It's as far away from the sea
as you can possibly get.
So, I'm standing right in
the middle of the country.
Amazing eh?
- What? So you're nowhere
near the sea at all?
- Couldn't be farther
away from it Groove.
Mind you, I really
miss all of you.
I haven't seen you
all for so long.
(Hoobs sigh)
- We miss you too Roma.
- Yeah.
- Come and see us soon.
- Oh Hoobs, thank you, I will!

- [All] Hooble-toodle-doo!
(electronic warbling)
- Groove, Roma's been in
the mountains for days.
As far away from the sea
as she could possible be.
- But she was with me,
I know she was.
- This is the most
mysterious mystery
we've ever had to
solve for Hoob News.
- Let's hope Hubba
Hubbas come up with
come up with an idea for us.
- Ohh, I have Tula, a
Tiddlypeep has sent me a
hoobacious story, Take a look.
(electronic warbling)
(upbeat music)
- [Voiceover] Sam
the clam was a kind
and friendly creature.
He lived in the seabed
with his friends,
Oswald the Octopus
and Sid the Squid.
He sat with them amongst
the rocks and seaweed
smiling and nodding all day,
but saying nothing.
- Oh...
- "Why doesn't Sam
talk?" Sid asked.
"Maybe he hasn't got anything
to talk about" Oswald replied.
"Then we should give
him something to talk
about." Said Sid.
"We should show him
something really beautiful,
that will make him
gasp and go wow."
So Sid and Oswald swam
off to find the most
beautiful thing in the ocean.
(upbeat music)
First, they brought Sam a
piece of glowing pink coral.
"What do you think
of this?" they said.
Sam smiled, but said nothing.
Then they brought
him golden goblet
from a sunken ship.
Sam smiled, but said nothing.
So they showed him a
pirate treasure chest
full of silver coins,
and precious jewels.
Sam smiled.
But said nothing.
"This is hopeless." said Oswald.
Suddenly, they heard the
sound of tinkling laughter.
And a lovely soft singing voice.
Then, a beautiful
mermaid swam into view.
- (gasps)
- She had long flowing hair,
deep blue eyes,
and a sparkling fishtail
of emerald green.
"Wow!" said Sam at last.
"I think I'm in love"
But Sid the Squid and
Oswald the octopus
were too amazed to speak.
(laughter)
(electronic warbling)
- You see, you see,
I'm not the only one
to ever meet a mermaid.
- Yes, but that
was a story Groove.
It didn't really happen.
- That's it, it's a story.
Groove has been
telling us the most
hoobe-dooble-duper story.
- I haven't.
- You have.
- I haven't.
- Oh, someone must be able
to sort this out for us.
- But, who?
(classical music playing)

- I know who hoobs,

rather strange mystery.

- It all started this morning.
I was dusting some shelves,
in my collection of
strangely shaped things,
and uh, eating some cheese
sandwiches and hoobofizz.
And I remember
feeling a bit sleepy.
Hm, anyway, the
next thing I know,
I'm underwater and having lunch
on board a wrecked ship
and dancing with a mermaid!
- [Tula] Yes, yes!
- (laughs)
- Now, how do you explain that!
- That's easy!
You were just having a dream.
- It's kind of like a story
that you tell yourself
while you're asleep!
- Well, it felt a
bit like a story,
only it seemed real at the time.
- That's what dreams are like.
- Yeah, sometimes they seem
so real that you can't believe
that they weren't!
- Hoobygalooby, that's amazing!
Yes I'm sure you're
right, a dream, ha!
Do Tiddlypeeps ever have dreams?
- Oh yes, all the time!
- And when you wake up does it
feel like it really happened?

- And today we've been
asking a question.
- How could Groove have
danced with a mermaid?
- [Iver] Groove was
sure he'd danced
in the waves with a mermaid,
but we couldn't
believe he'd done it.
For one thing, he
wouldn't want to get wet.
- [Groove] But I was
sure that I'd done it.
Although I couldn't remember
much about it to begin with.
- [Tula] Hubba Hubba showed
us some pictures from HoobNet,
that helped groove to remember
that he sat in a big shell.
- [Groove] Then Tula's
underwater scene
reminded me that
the shell was inside
a shipwrecked boat.
- [Tula] I so badly
wanted to meet a mermaid,
so I asked some Tiddlypeeps
where I could find one.
- [Iver] The Tiddlypeeps
had never met a mermaid,
but they gave Tula
a picture of one.
- [Tula] This helped
Groove to remember
that his mermaid had green hair.
- [Iver] Groove decided
to go over the whole story
to see if that helped
him to remember more.
- [Groove] And that's
when I remembered
that I had had lunch
with the mermaid,
and then Roma turned up
and joined in the dancing.
- [Tula] But then Roma
sent us her report,
and she was halfway
up a mountian.
Nowhere near the sea at all.
- [Iver] So we still
couldn't workout how Groove
came to be dancing
with a mermaid.
Then, Hubba Hubba
sent us a story.
- [Groove] The story proved
that I wasn't the only one
to have met a mermaid.
- [Tula] And it
gave us the idea,
that perhaps Groove
was telling us a story.
- [Groove] But I wasn't, so I
went to see the Tiddlypeeps.
- [Tula] And the Tiddlypeeps
told Groove that he had a dream.
- So, now we know how I
danced with a mermaid.
I dreamt it.
- Oh, and I can't
wait to dream it too.

Oh yes, this mountain
is very interesting.

So, I'm standing right in
the middle of the country.

the mountains for days.

as she could possible be.
- But she was with me,

mysterious mystery
we've ever had to
solve for Hoob News.
- Let's hope Hubba
Hubbas come up with
come up with an idea for us.
- Ohh, I have Tula, a
Tiddlypeep has sent me a
hoobacious story, Take a look.
(electronic warbling)
(upbeat music)
- [Voiceover] Sam
the clam was a kind
and friendly creature.
He lived in the seabed
with his friends,
Oswald the Octopus
and Sid the Squid.
He sat with them amongst
the rocks and seaweed
smiling and nodding all day,
but saying nothing.
- Oh...
- "Why doesn't Sam
talk?" Sid asked.
"Maybe he hasn't got anything
to talk about" Oswald replied.
"Then we should give
him something to talk
about." Said Sid.
"We should show him
something really beautiful,
that will make him
gasp and go wow."
So Sid and Oswald swam
off to find the most
beautiful thing in the ocean.
(upbeat music)
First, they brought Sam a
piece of glowing pink coral.
"What do you think
of this?" they said.
Sam smiled, but said nothing.
Then they brought
him golden goblet
from a sunken ship.
Sam smiled, but said nothing.
So they showed him a
pirate treasure chest
full of silver coins,
and precious jewels.
Sam smiled.
But said nothing.
"This is hopeless." said Oswald.
Suddenly, they heard the
sound of tinkling laughter.
And a lovely soft singing voice.
Then, a beautiful
mermaid swam into view.
- (gasps)
- She had long flowing hair,
deep blue eyes,
and a sparkling fishtail
of emerald green.
"Wow!" said Sam at last.
"I think I'm in love"
But Sid the Squid and
Oswald the octopus
were too amazed to speak.
(laughter)
(electronic warbling)
- You see, you see,
I'm not the only one
to ever meet a mermaid.
- Yes, but that
was a story Groove.
It didn't really happen.
- That's it, it's a story.
Groove has been
telling us the most
hoobe-dooble-duper story.
- I haven't.
- You have.
- I haven't.
- Oh, someone must be able
to sort this out for us.
- But, who?
(classical music playing)

And I was hoping you might

- It all started this morning.
I was dusting some shelves,
in my collection of
strangely shaped things,
and uh, eating some cheese
sandwiches and hoobofizz.
And I remember
feeling a bit sleepy.
Hm, anyway, the
next thing I know,
I'm underwater and having lunch
on board a wrecked ship
and dancing with a mermaid!
- [Tula] Yes, yes!
- (laughs)
- Now, how do you explain that!
- That's easy!
You were just having a dream.
- It's kind of like a story
that you tell yourself
while you're asleep!
- Well, it felt a
bit like a story,
only it seemed real at the time.
- That's what dreams are like.
- Yeah, sometimes they seem
so real that you can't believe
that they weren't!
- Hoobygalooby, that's amazing!
Yes I'm sure you're
right, a dream, ha!
Do Tiddlypeeps ever have dreams?
- Oh yes, all the time!
- And when you wake up does it
feel like it really happened?

I'm Iver.
- I'm Tula.
- And I'm Groove.
- And today we've been
asking a question.
- How could Groove have
danced with a mermaid?
- [Iver] Groove was
sure he'd danced
in the waves with a mermaid,
but we couldn't
believe he'd done it.
For one thing, he
wouldn't want to get wet.
- [Groove] But I was
sure that I'd done it.
Although I couldn't remember
much about it to begin with.
- [Tula] Hubba Hubba showed
us some pictures from HoobNet,
that helped groove to remember
that he sat in a big shell.
- [Groove] Then Tula's
underwater scene
reminded me that
the shell was inside
a shipwrecked boat.
- [Tula] I so badly
wanted to meet a mermaid,
so I asked some Tiddlypeeps
where I could find one.
- [Iver] The Tiddlypeeps
had never met a mermaid,
but they gave Tula
a picture of one.
- [Tula] This helped
Groove to remember
that his mermaid had green hair.
- [Iver] Groove decided
to go over the whole story
to see if that helped
him to remember more.
- [Groove] And that's
when I remembered
that I had had lunch
with the mermaid,
and then Roma turned up
and joined in the dancing.
- [Tula] But then Roma
sent us her report,
and she was halfway
up a mountian.
Nowhere near the sea at all.
- [Iver] So we still
couldn't workout how Groove
came to be dancing
with a mermaid.
Then, Hubba Hubba
sent us a story.
- [Groove] The story proved
that I wasn't the only one
to have met a mermaid.
- [Tula] And it
gave us the idea,
that perhaps Groove
was telling us a story.
- [Groove] But I wasn't, so I
went to see the Tiddlypeeps.
- [Tula] And the Tiddlypeeps
told Groove that he had a dream.
- So, now we know how I
danced with a mermaid.
I dreamt it.
- Oh, and I can't
wait to dream it too.
So it's thanks once
again to, Iver, Tula,
Groove, and Roma, for
giving Hoobs everywhere
a little peep into
the world of Peeps.
