- Oh, hi, you're here!

We're going over to Periwinkle's house

to celebrate Hanukkah,

the Jewish festival of lights,

and all our friends are going to be there!

- [Blue barks]

- Will you come too?

Awesome! Alright, well, let's go!

- [Blue barks]

- Hanukkah is celebrated for eight days and eight nights,

can you believe it, Blue?

- [Blue barks]

- ♪

- [knocks on door]

- Oh, hi!

- Hey Periwinkle! Oh, and hi Aly,

Happy Hanukkah!

- Shalom, Josh and Blue, and hi you, Chanukkah Sameach.

- Yeah, Happy Hanukkah!

- These are for you!

- Why, thank you!

- Come on in!

- Spin it round and round!

- Woo-hoo! Hanukkah party!

- That's the menorah.

- And now that everyone's here...

we can finally light it!

- Well, not everyone's here,

so we can't light the candles yet.

- [clanking] - MR. SALT: Oops.

- Coming [giggles]!

[gasps] Who else is coming to our Hanukkah party?

- [Blue barks]

- Oh! We'll play Blue's Clues

to figure out who else is coming to our Hanukkah party!

- And then we can light the menorah all together,

I can't wait!

♪ Because it's a really great game, yes ♪

Now remember, Blue's pawprint will be on the clues,

Hey, pawprint is spinning like a spinning top.

- It's a dreidel!

It's my favorite Hanukkah game!

- [gasps] Cool!

Hey, let's all spin like dreidels, too!

Ready, okay?

Hey, you know what we need for Blue's Clues?

Our handy, dandy...?

- KIDS: Notebook!

- Notebook, right, come on!

- Shoo bee doo--oh!

Hi, Josh, a Blue's Clues festival of lights?

I'm so excited!

Here's your Hanukkah notebook!

- [gasps] Ooh! Thanks, side table drawer,

you light up my day!

- Awe, thanks Josh!

- Will you help me figure out who else is coming

to our Hanukkah party?

Great!

To play Blue's Clues, we got to find a...?

- KIDS: Pawprint!

- Right, a pawprint, 'cause that's our first...?

- KIDS: Clue!

- Yeah, a clue, and we put it in our...?

- KIDS: Notebook!

- ♪ Put it in our notebook, 'cause they're whose clues? ♪

- UNISON: Blue's Clues!

- ♪ We got to find another pawprint ♪

- [chuckles] Yeah! You're spinning too, right?

- GIRL: No, a clue!

- [gasps] Our first Hanukkah clue!

Where is it?

- KID: Right there!

- KID: Behind you!

- [gasps] There it is!

[gasps] Our first clue!

[gasps] And it's on this picture of a family!

Hey, we need to put this clue

in our handy, dandy Hanukkah...?

- KIDS: Notebook!

- Notebook, right!

Okay, so our first clue is family.

All families look different,

but for this one, we'll draw two smiling faces

with eyes, and mouths.

Then two more faces that are a little smaller.

Add some eyes, and there, family.

So, who else is coming to our Hanukkah party

that has something to do with family?

[gasps] Yeah! Maybe!

But I think we should really find two more clues

just to be sure.

- DEDE: Ooh! Wee!

- ♪ And when it's dry and ready, oh dreidel we will play ♪

Josh, want to play dreidel with me, Dede?

- Play dreidel, well of course!

We've been spinning all day!

You will play with us, right?

Amazing! Come sit with us!

- [Blue barks]

- Wee [giggles]!

When I play dreidel,

we all start with the same amount of chocolate candies,

called gelt!

- One...two...three!

- [Blue barks]

- Spin me, spin me, spin me!

- ♪ Oh dreidel, dreidel, dreidel we made it out of clay ♪

♪ And when it's dry and ready, oh dreidel we will play ♪

- [Blue barks]

- Shin! I got the Hebrew letter shin!

- Shin means put one gelt in!

- Okay!

- So, how much gelt is in the middle now?

- [Blue barks]

- KID: Four!

- JOSH: Yeah, there's four,

because there were three,

plus the one Periwinkle added equals four!

- [Blue barks]

- Your turn, Blue!

- Okay.

- And we all gotta sing!

Ready?

- ♪ Oh dreidel, dreidel, dreidel we made it out of clay ♪

♪ And when it's dry and ready, oh dreidel we will play ♪

- [Blue barks]

- Hay! It landed on hay!

- You get to take half the pile, Blue!

- [Blue barks]

- Hm, so if Blue gets to take half the pile,

and there are four in the pile, how many does she get to take?

- KIDS: Two!

- JOSH: Yeah two,

because half of four is one...two!

- ♪

- [Blue barks]

- It's your turn now!

Spin me, spin me, spin me!

- ♪ Oh dreidel, dreidel, dreidel we made it out of clay ♪

♪ And when it's dry and ready, oh dreidel we will play ♪

- It's Gimel! Gimel, Gimel!

- [Blue barks]

- You get to take all the gelt!

- [Blue barks]

- All the gelt? Alright!

So, how much gelt do we have now all together?

- KIDS: Five!

- JOSH: One...two...three... four...five!

- [Blue barks]

- Yes! Wow, that many!

- [Blue barks]

- Whoa! Way to go!

- [Blue barks]

- You're a dreidel expert, thanks for spinning!

- [laughs]

- Now that we played dreidel, can we light the menorah?

Is everyone here yet?

- Not yet, but want to help me finish decorating?

- Oooh, okay!

- Bye [giggles].

- We really need to find two more clues

so we can figure out who else is coming.

Come on!

- Hm? You see a clue?

[gasps] Where?

- KID: There's a clue! - KID: On the glasses!

- Oh! There's a clue on these glasses.

Glasses are our second clue.

Hey, you know what we need?

Our handy, dandy Hanukkah...?

- KIDS: Notebook!

- Notebook, right [hums], okay, and there.

So, glasses.

We'll draw two circles,

a line to connect the two circles,

and curved lines on either side, there, glasses!

So, oh... what was our first clue?

- KIDS: Family!

- Family, right.

And now our second clue is...glasses.

- ♪

- So, who else is coming to our Hanukkah party

that has something to do with family and glasses, hm?

[gasps] Interesting!

But I think we really need to find our last clue.

- ♪ Mail time, mail time, mail time, mail time ♪

- The mail's here!

- ♪ Mail time

- At our Hanukkah party!

♪ Here's the mail, it never fails ♪

♪ It makes me want to wag my tail ♪

♪ When it comes, I want to wail maaaailll ♪

- [Blue barks]

- ♪

- Hey Josh and Blue, you have an email for Periwinkle.

- For me?

- Yes, you!

I miss you oh so much.

Oh, and I just baked a fresh batch

of my favorite jelly donut treats for Hanukkah, Sufganiyot!

- Aw, I miss my Grandpa Mauve so, so much!

- Your grandpa sure does love you, Periwinkle.

- MR. SALT: [gasps] We've run out of oil!

- [Blue barks] - Oh! Come on!

- [Blue barks] - Oh! No more oil, Mr. Salt?

- All gone.

I cannot make potato pancakes without oil,

and we need the latkes for the Hanukkah party!

- [Blue barks]

- Oh, not to worry, Mr. Salt, we are OIL over it.

- [Blue barks]

- Whoa! Blue just skidooded into that latke recipe!

Let's go!

- [Blue barks]

- Whoa! [gasps] We're in a potato palace!

- [Blue barks]

- Lady Latke's potato palace!

- Oh!

- [sighs] But I can't make any more latkes.

- [Blue barks]

- Will you help me?

Ah! Will you help Lady Latke?

Amazing!

- [Blue barks] - Thanks!

- My recipe got all jumbly.

So, first we shred the potatoes into tiny pieces,

shred, shred, shred.

Hm, I, uh-- I just can't remember,

what do we do next to make the latkes?

- Hm, well, let's see,

frying, mixing, and serving, which one comes next?

- KIDS: Mixing!

- JOSH: Mixing, yeah!

- [Blue barks]

- Oh, yes [chuckles]!

- Okay, well, let's mix the potatoes, flour,

and eggs together, ready?

♪ Mixa, mixa, mixa, mixa, mixa, mixa ♪

♪ Mixa, mixa, mixa, yeah

- Shredding, mixing, uh, I just can't remember what's next!

- Hm, well, let's see,

what comes next, frying or serving?

- KIDS: Frying!

- [Blue barks]

- Frying, right!

- [Blue barks]

- After we mix the ingredients together, we fry them in oil!

- Oh yes, of course!

- ♪

- Frying is for grownup chefs.

- [Blue barks]

- We put the uncooked latkes with oil so they fry.

- ♪

- See?

- JOSH: Now the latkes are getting nice and brown

on the sides and bottom!

Mm, those smell delicious!

- [Blue barks]

- Ooh [chuckles], well, the frying's almost done,

what comes next?

- Oh, well, let's see. Come on.

- [Blue barks]

- We shredded and mixed, and fried the latkes,

so...now it's time to serve!

- [Blue barks]

- Shred, mix, fry, serve [laughs]!

Thanks a latke!

- Oh [chuckles] happy to help, Lady Latke!

Oh, you wouldn't happen to have any extra oil, would you?

- I think I have some around here somewhere.

Oh, over here! - Come on!

- [Blue barks]

- I've got lots of oil.

You know, oil's really important to me,

and especially on Hanukkah!

- Wow! Thank you, Lady Latke.

- [Blue barks]

- Oh!

- We got to get this oil back home to Mr. Salt, come on.

- [gasps] Come on.

- Whoa! Mr. Salt, Mr. Salt, we have oil for you!

- Oh, thank you, thank you, you saved the latkes.

Wait a minute, what are the steps to make latkes?

- Oh...

- KIDS: Shred, mix, fry, serve!

- Ah yes! Shred, mix, fry, serve,

thank you!

The latkes will be ready soon for everyone to eat!

- Everyone?

We better find our last clue,

so we can figure out who else is coming to our Hanukkah party!

- KID: A clue, I see a clue!

- Seventy-two?

No, there are eight nights of Hanukkah!

- KIDS: [giggles] No, there's a clue...on the cat!

- Oh, there's a clue on this cat!

Hey, you know what we need? Our handy, dandy, Hanukkah...?

- KIDS: Notebook!

- Notebook, right.

[hums], Okay.

Alright, and...so a cat.

We'll draw a circle for the head,

and little triangles for the ears,

two eyes, a nose, and a mouth.

There, a cat.

We have all three clues!

Wait! We have all three clues,

that means we're ready to sit in our...?

- KIDS: Thinking chair!

- Thinking chair, come on!

- ♪

- Okay, now that we're in

Periwinkle's purply thinking chair, let's think.

So, we need to figure out who else is coming

to our Hanukkah party,

and our clues are [clears throat],

family,

glasses,

and a cat.

Hm, so who else is coming to our Hanukkah party

that has something to do with family, glasses, and a cat?

Oh, [gasps] well maybe--maybe a family of cat glasses

is coming to our Hanukkah party, huh, is that it?

- KIDS: No!

- [Blue barks]

- Oh, okay, well,

maybe whoever's is coming to our Hanukkah party

is a cat who wears glasses

and is part of a family!

Oh, well, Periwinkle is a cat.

Okay, who do we know who is a cat with glasses

in Periwinkle's family?

Oh!

- KIDS: Grandpa Mauve!

- Yeah!

[gasps] Grandpa Mauve is coming to our Hanukkah party!
