- Well that's all of the boxes.

Let's finish decorating.

- This is a big job, we could use some help.

- [Rachel] Yeah.

(amusing, tinkling music)

- Oh-ho, whoa!

- Barney! - Barney!

- Maybe I can help. (giggles)

Christmas is one of my very favorite times you know.

- So is everyone ready to play secret Santa?

- Oh yes! (laughs)

What's secret Santa?

- You pull a name from the basket

and give that person a present.

- And whoever picks your name gives you a present!

- All right. - Oh!

- Your gift can be something you make,

or bake or buy.

Something that shows how much you care.

- Oh, I hope I get a brand new baseball glove

to go with my official big league baseball!

- Oh, I hope I get some super cool drumsticks

I can use on my drum.

- Well.

Remember Christmas isn't just about what you get,

it's also about the things you give.

Okay everyone, choose a name.

- Okay. - All righty.

- Here we go. - Oh.

- Oh I just love

Christmas! (giggles) (Barney laughs)

- Oh it's a wonderful time of year.

And a time when people celebrate other holidays as well.

- My friend David celebrates Hanukkah.

He gets to play a game with a dreidel toy.

It's like a top.

(bright notes) - Oh that's a fun part

of the Hanukkah celebration.

(magical harp music)

- That's terrific, Riff.

Are you going to make something special for him?

- Well,

I can't make a baseball glove and that's what

I want to give him.

(sports organ music) - Oh that's a very

big gift, Riff.

- Hey.

Maybe I could trade for it!

(gasps) I could trade my drum for nice baseball glove!

- But that drum's very special to you.

- I know, but,

but so is BJ!

- Oh.

Well, if you're sure you want to.

- Yeah, I'm sure! (bright happy music)

Thanks Barney!

- [Barney] Sure. (giggles)

- Psst! (sneaking music)

- [Barney] Huh?

- Barney, come here.

- Okay.

- Barney I got Riff's name

and I know he really wants those drumsticks.

I was thinking maybe I could trade my

big league baseball (sports organ music)

for drumsticks!

- Are you sure that's what you want to do?

- Oh (chuckles) yeah, I'm sure!

Got to go!

(amusing music) - Oh my.

(bright xylophone and piano music)

Ho, ho, ho!

- Oh! (laughs) - Oh.

- It's Santa Barney! (laughs) - Uh. (laughs)

- (chuckles) Merry Christmas everyone.

Are you all ready for the gift giving?

- Yeah! - Yeah!

- Okay. - Mm-hm.

- But, we don't have a tree to put the presents under.

- Well, we'd better go get one!

Come on everybody! (laughs)

- Oh, yeah. - We getting a tree!

- We get to pick one! (excited crosstalk)

(bright, bells and piano music)

- Oh wow! (kids laughing)

- Sure Barney! - Okay.

(happy holiday music)

- Oh goodie one for me! (Barney giggles)

- And here's one for Marcos.

- Aw, thank you! (Barney giggles)

- And these are for Riff and BJ.

- All right, thanks.

- There you go, Riff.

- Thank you Barney. (paper crinkles)

Marcos gave me a teeny, tiny tiara for Teddy!

(bag rustles)

- Look, what a cute little picture!

- Oh you're welcome.

- Cool, cookies!

- Yum. - Thanks Rachel.

- [Rachel] You're welcome.

- You haven't opened your present,

Riff! - (giggles) Okay.

Here we go, here we go!

- Oh boy.

- Wowzer! (tinkly bells)

It's, it's,

drumsticks.

- Oh, yeah.

- Oh, thanks BJ.

- Perhaps you should open yours now BJ.

- Okay.

Let's see what I got!

(gasps) Oh it's a brand new!

Baseball glove, oh, man!

- Well, what's the matter?

- Well, I wanted to get Riff those drumsticks,

so I traded my baseball for them.

- I wanted to get you that glove.

So traded my drum for it.

- Oh, eye, ya, yi!

We really messed up, huh?

But,

you know what?

I feel really happy!

- (laughs) Yeah me too!

It's like Barney said.

Christmas isn't just about what you get,

it's about the things you give, too.

- You gave up things you cared about

to make a friend happy.

And that's what Christmas

is all about. (distant singing voices)

- Love you, cuz.

- Hey, what's that?

- Listen everybody. ♪ Four calling birds

- Let's go see them, come on. - All right!

(kids applauding)

It's a race car for Marcos.

- Ah, thanks! - Ah, wow.

- There's something else in there.

Oh, it's a new doll for Baby Bop!

- Oh, for me! - Oh boy.

(Barney giggles) - Thank you!

- And a purse for you, Rachel.

- Thank you! - There you go.

- Oh, this is for you, Riff.

- Oh Wowzer!

It's a new drum!

- Here's one more.

And this is for you, BJ.

- An official big league baseball!

What a fantastic Christmas! (sports organ music)

- Hurray! - Hurray!

- No matter what holiday we celebrate,

giving a gift is a wonderful way to show

friends and family how much we care.

(tropical beats and magical tinkling)

- [Sadie] Can you guess what we're doing?

(hands smack) - We have coats,

and skates,

Can you guess, can you?! - Let me think about that.

- Okay, I'll tell you.

We're getting ready for snow!

- Oh my.

- Do you think it'll snow soon Barney?

- Oh I think it just might.

- Yes! - Yes!

- Oh, okay. (giggles and hums)

Oh hi, how are you?

- Good.

- Terrific. - Great!

Hello Baby Bop.

- Hi B-Barney.

- Oh.

Are you okay?

- Well know I feel kind of f-funny. (giggles)

- Do you mean feel funny like you want

to giggle and laugh?

- Well no.

Funny like s-s-something's different, oo.

- I know what you mean sissy.

Hi Barney.

- Well hi BJ.

Oh I think I know what it is.

May I see your hands please?

- Okay.

- Ah-ha.

Ah-ha, mm-hm.

Ah, just as I thought.

Your hands are cold. (chuckles)

And do you know why that is?

- Well sure, 'cause I'm you know,

well why, Barney?

- Because it's winter.

- Oh and winter makes my hands cold!

- That's right.

There are four seasons in the year.

Spring is warm and summer is hot.

Autumn is cool and winter is cold!

Today is the first day of winter

and that's why you're cold.

- Oh! - Oh!

♪ When my teeth start to chatter

♪ And my fingers freeze

♪ That's how I know it's cold

♪ When I shiver and shake

♪ from a little bitty breeze

We'll go to a place where it's nice and warm!

- Oh, good idea Barney! - Okay, come on!

- Oh, oh you're right Barney

it is warmer in here!

- Ah-ha.

This is the perfect place to wait for the snow to fall.

Oh, hi everybody.

- Hi Barney! - Hi Barney!

- Snow is so pretty.

What's it made of?

- Snow is made of frozen rain.

And snowflakes fall from the clouds.

- You can catch them in your mouth when

they float down to the ground!

(kids laughing) - Right.

- Oh, I wonder what they taste like?

- Oh they have a very special sort of snowflakey taste.

- [BJ] Yum.

♪ If all the snowflakes were bubble gum and cupcakes

♪ Oh what a snow that would be

♪ Standing outside with my mouth open wide

Oh there isn't any!

It is going to snow, isn't it?

- It doesn't snow everywhere, Baby Bop.

But we do get snow here in the park.

Everything has to be just right before it can fall.

But if you wait very patiently

you just might see some.

- Okay, I'll wait.

This is me,

waiting.

♪ Do, do, do, do, do, do

(anticipating, syncopated strings music)

Oh dear when is it gonna snow?

(anticipating, syncopated strings music)

Oh it's still not snowing! (cries)

- Oh Baby Bop, snow has to fall in its own good time.

We can't hurry it up or slow it down.

- Oh.

- Wait, I have an idea.

Come on! (giggles)

- Oh okay, goodie.

- While we're waiting for the real snow to fall

we can make paper snowflakes with our friends.

- But I don't know how.

- Here Baby Bop, I'll show you how.

- Oh thank you. - Oh that's nice.

(giggles) Okay.

First you fold your paper.

And fold it again.

(paper rustling)

Now fold one more time.

- Whoa! - Cool.

- [Barney] Pretty good.

Then you give it a good grip and you snip.

Now be careful there.

It's looking good.

(paper rustling)

And snip some more. - Thanks.

- [Barney] Keep on snipping.

And when you open it up

your very own snowflake!

- Thanks Barney! (kids laughing)

- [Barney] Good job everyone.

They look great. - Yours is cool.

- Thanks!

- Oh it's so pretty. (laughs)

- Watch this Baby Bop.

Snow can fall fast.

Whew! (descending xylophone notes)

- Or it can fall slow.

(descending woodwind music) - Ah.

- Fast! (makes rushing noise)

- [Baby Bop] Whoa.

- And slow.

Mm. (descending xylophone music)

- Oh look, we're really doing a snowflake dance, woo!

- Can you make a snowflake and dance like falling snow?

Come on, show me.

(magical, tinkling music)

- I'm done with my snowflake! (tinkling music)

(flourishing, tinkly music)

- [Barney] Oh Baby Bop.

- Yes Barney?

- Um, I think there's something you might like to see.

(giggles) - Oh.

Oh Barney, BJ everbody!

Lookie, lookie, lookie, snow!

- [Barney] That's right, it's snowing!

- Snow! (kids cheering)

- All right! (kids cheering)

- Yes, come on guys! - Just like you said, Barney!

I waited and waited and oh, it's snowing!

Let's go out in the snow, come on here we go!

- Well just a minute please.

You don't want to go out in the cold without this.

(bright, magical harp music)

(bells dinging)

- Oh! - Yeah!

- Make sure bundle up, okay. - I get the pretty pink one.

- Okay I'll take the--

- Whoa! - Wow!

- Oh there's nothing quite like seeing

the first snow of the year.

The only thing better than seeing it is

playing in it!

Come on, let's go!

♪ Winter's wonderful it's so beautiful

♪ The air is cold and clear (sleigh bells jingling)

♪ Snow is sparkling trees are glistening

♪ It's that time of year
