♪ Barney's friends are big and small ♪

♪ They come from lots of places ♪

♪ After school they meet to play ♪

♪ Barney shows us lots of things ♪

♪ Like how to play pretend

♪ ABC's and 's and how to be a friend. ♪

♪ Barney comes to play with us

♪ Whenever we may need him

♪ Barney can be your friend too ♪

- How did you like your bike ride Barney?

- Whoa (laughing)

That was a great ride.

Hi Cami, hello Sarah.

- Will you come and play with us Barney?

- Why I'd be absolutely delighted.

- Oh it looks like someone got a new bike.

- I did Barney, and a new helmet too.

- My mom says its important to always wear your helmet

when you ride your bike.

- Oh yes, that's very important.

- It protects your head,

in case you fall.

- Wearing a helmet,

now that's using your head.

(all laugh)

- Oh, Barney.

- Nick should be here by now,

he's bringing some of the decorations for our bikes.

- Oh, but you both have very pretty bikes already.

Why would you want to decorate them?

- Because today is a bike parade.

- Everyone decorates their bikes

and rides all through the park.

- Oh boy, oh boy!

Oh that sounds like lots of fun.

- Yeah.

- Can't wait.

- Hey, there he is.

- Hi Nick. (all)

- Hi guys (in a sad tone)

Hi Barney.

- Are you okay, Nick?

- Yeah I'm okay.

- What happened to your knee?

- Well while I was riding over here,

I fell off my bike and skinned my knee.

- Does it hurt?

- A little bit.

- I'm really sorry that happened Nick.

But I know something you can count on

to make you feel better.

- What's that Barney?

- You can count on me.

- And me.

- And me.

- Are you feeling any better, Nick?

- Yes I'm feeling a lot better.

- Oh good.

- But I think my bike still needs some help.

- Afraid you're right about that.

- How am I going to get it fixed

in time for the parade, Barney?

- I'm sure we'll come up with something.

- Hi everybody.

(all saying hello)

- Oh my, what seems to be the problem?

- I had a little accident today.

My bike is broken.

- So now he can't ride in the bike parade.

- Well that is a problem.

Maybe I can help, lets take a look.

- Oh I know, maybe we should start by

looking at the wheels on the bike.

(laughing)

(upbeat music)

- Turning over there.

- Oh yes, Whoa.

(barney laughing)

Oh my!

It looks like there are a few problems with the bike.

- Well there sure are Barney,

this tire is definitely flat.

And it looks like the chain is broken too.

- You think it can be fixed in time for the parade Barney?

- Well um, what do you think, Mr. Boyd?

- Oh absolutely!

I've got some tools in the shed that should fix it.

I'll get right to work.

- Okay.

- Bye Mr. Boyd (all)

(bell ringing)

- Look at me, look at me.

(all cheering) baby bop!

- Hi everybody.

- Its nice to see you.

- See what I can do?

(all cheering)

(bell ringing)

- Ring your bell?

- Oh I can do that, but watch this.

(laughing)

- Here I go!

- Whoa you're riding your tricycle.

- Yes I am.

And do you know what I like best?


(laughing)

(spinning sound)

- Going around in circles.

- Yes, and I can ride all by myself.

I don't need any help.

(all cheering) good job Baby Bop!

- Thank you, I can do lots of things by myself.

- Oh I see that.

- Very nice.

- Oh what a pretty bike.

- Thanks, Baby Bop.

Its my new two-wheeler.

But it has , , , wheels.

- That's because she's still learning to ride.

Those little wheels are the training wheels.

- Oh, training wheels.

Barney, what are training wheels?

- They're wheels that keep you steady

until you're ready to ride a two wheeler.

After some practice, you take them off

and ride on just two wheels.

- See, like mine.

- Right.

- But why does my bike have three wheels, Barney?

- Well that's because your bike is a tricycle.

It has three wheels to make riding easier

when you're first learning to ride.

- Oh, well how many wheels does your bike have, Nick?

- It has two wheels.

But only one that works.

- How do you ride a bike with only one wheel?

- "Wheely" carefully.

(all laughing)

- Oh Barney.

- I can't ride it right now because one tires flat

and Mr. Boyd is fixing it.

- And then you can ride your bike again?

- I hope so.

Riding my bike is one of my favorite things to do.

- Me too, I like to ride bikes with my dad.

- Sometimes my mom and I take long bike rides.

She says its good exercise, and I think its fun.

- Oh bike riding is fun.

(upbeat music)

and a terrific way to exercise.

- Here I go!

- That was fun!

- Exercising makes me feel good all over.

- Me too.

- Wow, what a cool bike.

- And it looks like a fast one.

Its a racing bike.

Sort of like some of these.

- Wow, look at all the racers.

- And all the bikes.

- [Barney] Those are all racing bikes.

But there are many other kinds.

(Barney laughs)

This bike pushes a cart that carries people.

- [Baby Bop] They have three wheels like my bike.

- [Barney] There's some more.

(upbeat music)

- [Barney] These bikes only have one wheel.

They're called unicycles.

- [Nick] I guess you can ride a bike with one wheel.

- [Barney] Or sometimes, two people can

ride on one bicycle,

like this tandum bike.

- [Baby Bop] Oh look.

- [Barney] This bicycle is called a mountain bike.

You can ride it almost anywhere.

(all exclaim)

And some police officers use bicycles to do their jobs.

- [Baby Bop] Hello officer.

(all laughing)

- [Barney] Bikes are used all around the world.

In many different ways.

For work, getting around,

exercise, and of course for fun.

(Barney laughing)

- Oh that looks like fun.

- Hey I wonder how Mr. Boyd is doing with my bike.

- Come on, lets go see.

(all cheering)

(upbeat music)

- Hi Mr. Boyd.

- Hello.

- How's the bike repair going, Mr. Boyd?

- Oh pretty good Barney.

Its almost uh,

ready to ride.

- Oh great!

(all laughing)

- Did you see that guy on the racing bike?

- Oh I sure did.

- Bike racing is so cool.

Do you think I can be a racer when I grow up?

- Absolutely Nick.

Just work hard, and practice safe riding habits.

- Oh I know how to be safe on a bike.

- Oh?

- That's great Baby Bop.

Tell me a bike safety rule.

- You should only ride your bike in the daytime.

- Oh good one.

- I know one too,

always wear your helmet.

- Very good. What else?

- Keep both hands on the handle bars.

- That's handy for steering.

(all laugh)

- Ride on sidewalks and obey stop signs.

- That's right.

And most importantly, before you walk your bike

across the street,

always stop, look, and listen.

(all cheering)

- Its a road, look.

(laughing)

- I always hold hands with a grown up,

and I always look both ways.

- That's the safe way to cross the street Baby Bop.

- Remember, a good bike rider is a safe bike rider.

- Oh I will, Barney.

- Say Nick, I could use a little help

finishing up your bike for the parade.

- All right lets go.

- Okay.

(all saying bye)

- Hey is there going to be a parade today?

- Yes, and we're going to decorate our bikes

and ride in it.

- Oh can I help?

- Sure Baby Bop.

- Lets start decorating.

- Great idea. I can't wait to see what you're going to make.

- I have an idea for a special decoration we can make.

- What's that?

- License plates for our bikes.

- That's a great idea, Sarah.

- Oh that sounds like fun.

How do we make them?

- I'll show you.

- Okay.

- I'll bring these.

- Just decorate a piece of construction paper

anyway you want.

Then write your name on the back.

- Oh I see.

- I can do that. I know how to spell my name.

- K-A-M-I

- Good job, Kami.

- Can you help me write my name?

- Sure I'll help you.

- And I'll make one for Nick.

- That's a great idea.

- Very nice Baby Bop.

♪ A birthday card came in the mail ♪

- Way to go everybody.

You've done a wonderful job making your license plates.

- Hey guys, my bike is fixed.

- Oh that's great news, Nick.

Lets go check it out.

(all cheering)

- Come on everybody.

(upbeat music)

- There's Mr. Boyd now.

- (all) Hi Mr. Boyd.

- Hello everyone.

- I think Mr. Boyd's bike is too small.

- That's because its my bike.

- I've been giving it a little test drive.

There you are. Good as new.

- Thanks for fixing my bike, Mr. Boyd.

- Oh you're welcome Nick.

But I could never have done it without your help.

- When friends work together,

they can fix almost anything.

- Well, you were right about that, Barney.

Oop, I better get going.

I need to get ready for the parade myself.

- [All] Bye Mr. Boyd.

- We made this for your bike, Nick.

- Oh wow, its great.

- Look at mine, it has my name on it.

- That's cool, Baby Bop.

- I can't wait to show it to BJ.

- Well now that you know how to do it,

maybe you can make one for BJ's scooter.

- Oh Barney that's a great idea.

BJ will love that. I better get going. Bye bye.

- [All] Bye Baby Bop.

- We better get busy decorating our bikes.

The parade is going to start in just a little while.

- Can someone help me get my bike ready?

- Sure, we'll help you.

- You know if we all work together,

we'll have have these bikes ready to roll in no time.

Oh I can't wait.

- This is great. This will look good right here.

- Perfect here.

- Like that?

(indistinct talking)

(upbeat music)

- There you go.

(laughing)

- Oh everything's coming along so well.

Look at all the colors.

Wow, your bikes look great!

- [All] Thank you Barney. I like them too.

- But it seems like something is missing.

- What's that Barney?

- Hold on, I think I've got just the thing. Right over here.

- Okay.

- Oh you're going to love it.

(rubber duck sound)

(indistinct talking)

(clock sound)

(squeaky sound)

(spring bouncing)

(indistinct talking)

- Its in here somewhere, but I just can't seem to find it.

Oh here we go!

- [All] Balloons!

- That's right.

- Thank you Barney.

- You're very welcome.

(laughing)

- Those are beautiful.

- Will you please help us put them on our bikes?

- Well, absolutely. Here you go, Sarah.

(laughing)

- Everybody ready?

- [All] Ready!

- Lets take a practice ride.

- Terrific!

- Look at Kami go.

That's some nice riding.

- I think I'm almost ready to ride

without the training wheels.

- I'd say your ready and steady to ride a two wheeler.

(laughing)

- Thanks for bringing the decorations for our bikes, Nick.

- You're welcome.

You know, I wasn't having a very good day,

but thanks to all of you I had lots of fun.

(soft music)

- Well, that's because good friends

can turn any day, into a great day.

(laughing)
