- [Phil] Previously on "The Amazing Race."

teams left the snow-capped mountains of Cortina

and raced to the jewel of Italy, Venice.

Along the way, tensions rose when Reichen and Chip

caught up with the other teams.

- They're fierce competitors.

They're really a reason to scare me.

- Are they blocking the doors? - My backpack is there.

- Weezer and Geezer tried to get us out of the race

on our very first day.

They made enemies way too soon.

- [Phil] Russell and Cindy lost their way.

- Dumb ass! - Wrong way.

- As well as their tempers. - Talk down to me

one more time.

You were talking down to the wrong person.

- So did Tian and Jaree. - Quit trying

to demean me, okay? - Teams found themselves

at a puzzling masked ball. - It is so damn hard.

- [Phil] The final two teams were moments apart.

- Oh, God. - sh**t.

- [Phil] And Amanda and Chris were eliminated.

- Oh, he's still a real jerk, but I love him, it's okay.

- teams remain. [dramatic music]

Who will be eliminated tonight?

[dramatic music]

[dramatic music continues]

[dramatic music continues]

[soft music]

This is Venice, Italy.

Since the th Century, this island city

of bridges and canals has been the romantic heart of Europe.

And in the center of the city, the lagoon.

This was the second pit stop in a race around the world.

Teams arrived here at the end of the last leg

for a mandatory rest period.

Will Steve and Dave be able to maintain their lead

despite lingering pain from the knee injury Dave suffered

on the first leg?

Will Cindy feel more a part of her team with Russell

as they work to get to the front of the pack?

Steve and Dave, who were the first team to arrive

at : p.m., will depart at : a.m.

- Travel by train to Vienna, Austria.

[dramatic music]

- [Phil] Teams must now travel nearly miles by train

to Vienna, Austria.

Once there, they'll make their way to this intersection

where they'll have to follow a marked path

that will take them through the Historic Sewers of Vienna,

eventually bringing them to the next route marker.

- You're pretty stone cold on the route?

- On the route? - Yeah.

- Yeah. - Ow, yeah, it does hurt.

- Dave's still a little bit banged up to run.

[soft music]

We're gonna have to do this at a brisk pace.

- Drop this for a second. - That's our handicap

right now. - I don't see anything

that we're looking for. - Would it be good to go

to Verona, bigger station?

- Verona is a bigger station>

I think it probably is-- - The local said that

he thought that he had seen trains to Vienna

at the Padova station.

And then we go from Padova to Vienna?

- Yeah, it's possible. - It's possible?

- Our only chance to continue to hold onto

what meagerly we have is to get out of here

instead of grouping up with nine other cutthroat teams.

[dramatic music]

- Go. - Travel by train

to Vienna, Austria. - Let's go.

- Okay. - People don't want us to win.

They think that we're arrogant

and we're a team that just feels like

we can walk across everybody.

We don't wanna come across arrogant.

We just think we're gonna win.

- You have $ for this leg of the race.

- Got it. - Yup, let's go.

When we started the race, I was doing the race for Jon.

Now we're into the third leg and I'm doing the race for me.

I'm sick of being two percent of this team.

I'd like to be %. - Is there a sign?

- Yup.

The marriage is gonna be a / thing

and Jon needs to learn that on the race.

- [Kelly] Come on.

- You have $ for this leg of the race.

- That's what it is.

Holy crapola.

- [Tian] The race is making us

not get along very well.

I feel like I'm sacrificing and she isn't.

- Come on, Mama. - Wait, what you--

- [Tian] This way, come on.

- [Jaree] Tian blames everything on me.

Maybe she's better cardio shape than I am,

but definitely giving it my best.

- This way, come on. - Okay.

- Go by train to Vienna. - Let's go.

Go by train to Vienna, let's go.

This way.

We've been friends for about -/ years.

Around here.

- Our relationship, I think, is getting better

as the race as gone on. - Just keep going.

- Our strategies evolved a little bit.

Point isn't to finish first, second, or third,

but it's to get eliminated at each leg.

- Make your way to the race flag near

the intersection of Operngasse and FriedrichstraBße.

- Good, let's go. - Let's go.

- Jon and I were both circus clowns

and we definitely want the other people

to look at us and say, "Hey, those are fun guys."

But this is serious and this is a race.

When it's time to get aggressive,

we're just gonna get aggressive.

- Travel by train to Vienna, Austria.

- Wow, let's go.

Spend hours a day with Russell has created

a lot of tension between us.

- [Russell] Would you like to call a water taxi?

- Three years, I was thinking we're the best partners

and then, four or five days, I'm sitting here going,

"Wow, I'm not sure." - minutes.

How many people? - Two people.

- Okay, follow the flagged path to your next clue.

We should have . - We got $.

Here's the money. Let's go.

Running.

- [Chuck] This beginning of the race has not made me think,

yes, we should get married or no, we shouldn't get married.

- k*lling ourselves. - No, we gotta get in line.

- [Millie] Yeah, that's true. You're right.

- [Chuck] It has supported that we can work together

and also we can clash. - I can't wait

for Chuck forever.

We're running.

- Travel by train to Vienna, Austria.

- Let's go.

Go, go, go, go, go, go, go.

Most of my life, my dad and I have not gotten along

or ever really seen eye to eye.

But since we started the race, we're working on it.

- It's fricking cold, man.

- [indistinct] Okay, let's go.

- Last night, we were almost eliminated.

- The [indistinct] is now gone.

- Being that we're married to professional athletes,

we understand. - It's not over till

it's over and that's one of the the big things

my husband's always telling me.

- [Kelly] I think we're the first one's here. We are.

Vienna, no, no, none of those are it.

- [Jaree] These people must be in great shape

that were there. - Oh, yeah.

- [Tian] Are they open? [dramatic music]

- [Jaree] No, they're right behind us though.

Whatever. - It's fine.

- We're almost there. [dramatic music]

- They're here. - Oh man.

You guys got here? - I need the fastest

to Vienna, Austria. [dramatic music]

We're not waiting hours here.

- Okay, there's no train to Vienna.

You have to wait hours,

so we need to find a different way

to get to Vienna.

- We are leaving from here to go to Vienna, Austria.

The quickest way is train from here?

- There's another way.

You go-- - Show me on the map.

Here's a map. - You go via Verona.

Innsbruck, Innsbruck, Innsbruck.

- He gave us all this information and it was a train

that goes to Verona, but then connects through Innsbruck,

which then gets a very fast train from Innsbruck to Vienna.

[dramatic music]

- All right, going to this train station.

We're getting there, we're doing good.

We caught up with a couple teams.

- Trains, okay, run, train. - Train!

[dramatic music] [group chattering]

- Yes! - We're all good.

- Let's run.

- [Russell] Train.

- Train, then we can get tickets.

[dramatic music]

- There's Chip and Reichen. - Sheree and I relate

to Chip and Reichen because we're the two minorities.

We're the two black girls and they're two gay males.

- Where we going to? - Austria.

- [Millie] Chuck, Chuck! [group chattering]

- You need water? [dramatic music]

- I have asthma occasionally with exercise.

In the train station, I just couldn't breathe.

[group chattering]

- [Contestant] [foreign language] Verona, Verona!

- I looked at the time and it was :

and the train left at :,

so we winked at Monica and Sheree

and said, "Just follow us." - Go.

- [Sheree] Come on, come on.

[dramatic music]

- [Millie] Oh, I'm so happy to see a clown.

- Sit her down. - You wanna sit and rest?

- Get on quick, quick! [dramatic music]

- Jon! - Come on.

Come, on, come on, come on.

[dramatic music]

- Just makes me not breathe. Oh, God, okay.

- I don't think it matters where and when we leave.

- [Millie] I tend to break down and sucking the inhaler.

[dramatic music]

- Every day, I ask you to get rid of stuff

and you're holding on.

You don't need. - You know what?

- And you can't run with it 'cause--

- Because of you I cannot sit with you.

- Then leave, quit then. - I cannot look at you.

[dramatic music]

- I'm gonna sit here and bitch until

you take stuff out.

- We're in public, we're on a train, be quiet.

- I'm not going to be quiet.

- Do me a favor and shut up. - You're telling me right now

that you're not getting rid of anything in your pack?

- Listen, I don't know-- - It's fine--

- if you were taught manners-- - that you want--

- to take care of this-- - but you need to learn--

- them really fast. - I haven't done

anything wrong.

This is a race and you won't get rid of anything.

I'm sick of [censored] being behind

because you can't keep up. [dramatic music]

[group chattering]

- Alan and Jon are the best.

Those guys are the kindest guys to everyone.

- Water? - I'm good.

- You all right? - You all right?

[dramatic music]

- We wanna go to Vienna. - Vienna.

- Vienna? - No?

- We realized that Padova wasn't to our advantage.

Only way to get to Vienna was through

the Venice station.

- [Dave] I think we just [indistinct] something fierce.

- [Steve] All right, well, let's go home then, man.

[upbeat music]

- We wanna get to Vienna, Austria even if we have to change.

We need six tickets. - We took a :

from Verona to Vienna. - Thank you so much.

Have a great day. - Two tickets, please.

We found a way to get there through Verona.

- We did find out about the other team.

- They are on a train ahead of us.

[dramatic music]

- [Phil] Tian and Jaree, Kelly and Jon, David and Jeff,

Reichen and Chip, and Monica and Sheree

are traveling on the first train to Vienna, Austria.

Millie and Chuck, Jon and Al, Steve and Josh,

and Russell and Cindy, are on the second train

one hour behind.

Steve and Dave await a third train

that will arrive two hours after the first.

[dramatic music]

[dramatic music continues]

- It's not right here.

I think it's one more street over

is where it's gonna intersect.

- I got it, I got it. Call them.

Come on, guys. I got the flag right here.

- What's he doing? - There's the flag, guys.

- The flag's here. [dramatic music]

- Here's the sign.

Hours of operation : a.m. to : p.m.

[dramatic music] [group chattering]

I can't even believe this is happening.

We've had such a great lead and now it's all gone.

It's not open till : a.m.

So we're gonna have to find a little hotel.

[dramatic music]

- Route marker. Closes at :.

[dramatic music]

- We're gonna sack out here.

We know where we have to go tomorrow morning.

We'll just get up early and make sure

we get there early. [dramatic music]

[door slams shut] [dramatic music]

- Now we're gonna go into the ground like groundhogs

and crawl around a little bit.

Who knows what's gonna happen after that.

[dramatic music]

- I see other teams. We're in good shape.

We're now on equal footing again.

- They're walking up two minutes before the race

and I don't understand that.

My opinion on how to do this race

is try to be first everywhere.

That way, you can gain some some and advantage.

[dramatic music]

- Be very, very careful, Tian. - We're gonna get trampled.

- I'm coming like gangbusters. - Here we go! Whoo!

- Here she goes. - Oh, slippery.

[dramatic music]

- [Contestant] Oh my gosh, how scary is this?

- [Contestant] Here we go, here we go, here we go,

here we go. - It sinks like ass.

- [Steve] We can't keep up with these rabbits.

- Geez, it's dark. - Slime, slime.

- [Kelly] This is disgusting.

Is this potty water? John! - Come on, babe.

- Wait for me! - I'm beating Tian.

Let's go, we got her. [dramatic music]

- Jar, I gotta take this off. - We gotta catch up.

They're leaving us. [group chattering]

[dramatic music]

- [Contestant] It's getting smaller.

[dramatic music]

- [Contestant] There's arrows right there.

- [Jon] We got green, Kelly, we got green.

- It's slippery. - We got it. Good job.

[dramatic music]

- Choose a flag.

What is that? I don't know.

- Choose a flagged fiacre and find your way

to Schoönbrunn Palace.

- [Phil] Teams must now claim one

of these horse-drawn carriages known locally as a fiacre

by grabbing the ticket hanging on the carriage door.

They must then direct their driver approximately six miles

to Schoönbrunn Palace where they will find

their next route marker.

The fiacres will depart for the palace

in groups of three or four every minutes.

- Woo-hoo! It's horses. - Come on, come on.

[dramatic music]

- [Contestant] Move out.

- Choose a flagged fiacre and find your way

to Schoönbrunn Palace. - There's the horses.

Let's go! - Now you want a horse.

[dramatic music]

- There's only three. - There's two.

- There's only three of them here.

[dramatic music]

- Okay. - Here, give it.

Sheree, I'm gonna hold it. - Let's go.

- Choose a flagged fiacre and find your way

to Schoönbrunn Palace. - Let's go.

- Let's do it. - Come on.

- Flagged fiacre. - The horses.

- On your way to Schoönbrunn Palace.

- Claim the flagged fiacre.

Grab the fiacre pass that's hanging

from one of the door hands of the fiacre.

- Let's go. - Two passengers.

- You have to grab the pass on the coach

to claim it, okay? - Oh, you see it?

- It's right there. - Wait, wait, wait,

grab that.

Grab it, grab it, Jon. - I saw the pass.

It says you have to pull the pass and then that

horse-drawn cart is yours. - We got the pass.

- This is a pass. - Just trying

to figure it out. - Yeah, we gotta grab

that pass. - It's yours because

they didn't take it, so they have to get out.

- Right. - We got the pass.

We gotta go. - We're going on.

- You didn't get the pass. - No. No, that's not ...

- It says, "Grab the pass." That's what it said.

- You're kidding me. - You made a mistake!

- We got in the first horses and we were supposed

to grab the tag off the door when we got in.

The clowns come and grab the tag.

- [Contestant] They got minutes head start.

[dramatic music]

- They got it. - Schoönbrunn.

[dramatic music]

- Guys, you have to get out. - That's it right there.

- You have to take this off.

It's ours now.

Sorry, that's what it says right here.

You have to take it off. [dramatic music]

- Go, Jon. - No, stay right here, Kel.

Kelly, stay. - Hey, hey, hey!

- It says, "Grab it off the door handles."

You didn't take it off. - I'm sorry.

- Jon, hey! - You got it?

- No. You know what?

It's all right because you guys

are gonna self destruct today or tomorrow.

- Oh, we've been making y'all think that. Sorry.

- Listen, I am ... [Jon laughs]

- You're fine.

- Let's go, Tian. Giddy up, baby.

- Schoönbrunn Palace. This way.

Thank you.

- Is there any we can just take a carrot or something

and throw 'em in front of the horses

and make 'em go a little quicker?

[dramatic music]

- [Contestant] That horse right there.

[dramatic music] [group chattering]

- The horses have to come every half hour,

so we gotta wait till : for the next set.

- If we don't get the next three,

we're a half hour behind again.

- Calm down. - I have a feeling.

[dramatic music] [group chattering]

- We're reading the clue and we realize

that whoever sees the carriage first make a mad dash.

So we said we're gonna run. - We're gonna go run.

- We had an arrangement that Reichen and Chip

were gonna look out for us and approach

the fiacres and pull a tag for us

and that we were gonna be distracting the other teams.

- We're gonna run.

- That's why we're standing here.

- And we're gonna help you. [dramatic music]

- It's any man for himself.

[dramatic music]

[dramatic music]

- We knew that three sets of horses

were gonna come for the next three teams.

It says on the clue as soon as you see

the horses approaching you may go and claim a tag,

so every man for himself. [dramatic music]

- See, it's around the corner.

We can run all the way down there

and just rip the tag off. [dramatic music]

- Where'd she go? - If you see it

you get to grab it. - Leave your bags. No!

[dramatic music] [group chattering]

[dramatic music]

- Did you get it?

- [Contestant] I only got one. I only got one.

- [Contestant] They just went for one?

I don't know why they didn't get

to the second one.

Were they first? - Yeah.

- God, he's a jerk. He is a jerk, oh my gosh.

- So sorry, so I don't know what to do.

If you wanna get pissed at us.

- If you were gonna tell us that you were gonna look for us,

that's great, but if we rely on that and then--

- I know.

- You're not gonna be paying attention first

and then we're back here. - There was three cars.

We went right to grab the next one.

- All right. - I don't know what to say.

- As far as the alliance we have with Reichen and Chip,

we're gonna take information from 'em

is what we're gonna do at this point

'cause we've given a lot to them.

And so, we're gonna see some reciprocation.

But that's not gonna be "an alliance."

- We got to be smarter about this.

- Jon! [dramatic music]

- [Jon] Don't freak the horses out!

- Okay. Okay. - They got the first two,

but then no one saw this one.

This one was just coming up.

- Okay, I'm gonna get out real quickie.

- Did I do that? - It's not your fault.

I just wanna say it's not your fault.

It's okay, no. - I wasn't even gonna touch

you until you slammed my hand backwards.

I mean, because you started the manhandling crap.

I did not want to hurt you, but you did touch me first.

Chip is mister aggressive dude so I grabbed him

in the heat of the moment and something on me

came into contact with his mouth.

- I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do that.

That's what I'm saying. - Okay. All right.

- I cut his mouth [laughs].

Oh my God, what drama.

- I feel really dumb right now.

[dramatic music]

- Wow, oh my gosh. [dramatic music]

- Go through this side. - Okay, detour.

- Mozart or Beethoven? [dramatic music]

- A detour is a choice between two tasks,

each with its own pros and cons.

In this detour, teams have to choose between

two musical giants who lived in Vienna,

Mozart and Beethoven.

In Mozart, teams must carry a string bass six miles

to this house where Mozart wrote

"The Marriage of Figarohaus."

The house is well known and finding it should be simple,

but lugging a bass fiddle across town

could be exhausting.

In Beethoven, teams must carry a portfolio of sheet music

miles to this house where Beethoven wrote

a famous letter known as The Heiligenstadt Testament.

It's not a physically demanding task,

but in a city where Beethoven occupied

at least five different homes during his lifetime,

finding this little known house could take a while.

- Let's go. Let's get the sheet of music.

Come on.

Or this is probably easier. - Grab it.

See how you feel about it. - It's fine with me.

- Let's go. - Let's go.

- Detour, Mozart or Beethoven.

Let's do it right here. - Mozart.

- Quickly. - Let's do

the well known house. - Let's do the Figaro.

This one, right? - Figaro.

- Yeah, okay. ♪ Figaro

♪ Figaro, Figaro, Figaro

- Let's go. [upbeat music]

- Do you know where he is? Mozart?

- It's just near to St. Stevens.

- You wanna do this together? - Thank you.

- Yes. - All right.

- We're all up at the front and we knew

we had a pretty good lead on everybody,

so it was all about girl power.

[upbeat music]

- Wait a minute, I need to change arms.

- [Contestant] We have everybody? One, two, three.

[upbeat music]

- All right, we got the box.

Detour. Choose a double bass and carry it.

Let's do the bass. - Got it.

All right, get that, let's go. [group chattering]

- Steph and Stone? - Yeah.

- Left.

[Millie speaks in foreign language]

[group chattering]

- [Jon] Paper or the bass? What do you wanna do?

- [Kelly] The paper, hello?

- [Jon] Obviously, it's gonna be much farther away.

Kelly decides let's take the sheet of music

because it's gonna be easier for her.

But like she was really gonna carry the bass anyways.

- We have to take this sheet of music to Beethoven's house?

We think it's at the Beethoven Memorial,

which would be logical, but Jon's just doubting everything.

- Kelly, I wanna make sure that we're going

the right direction.

I wanna make sure it's the right direction, relax!

[upbeat music]

- You're wasting time.

The train's right there, please.

- We're trying to get to where Beethoven wrote this letter.

- I'm sorry. - No problem.

- [Kelly] No, that's okay. Thank you.

- We got a bass, baby. - Russell and Cindy joined up

with us taking the double bass to Mozart's house.

[upbeat music]

- Kelly, what about this? - Oh my God.

- What if there's a few places where he wrote music?

- Are you Ret*rded?

How many Beethovens in the world do you think there are?

- We gotta stay in this.

We're in last place right now.

We have decided that when we get to the palace

we're going to go for the fast forward.

- We gotta stay in this. [dramatic music]

- There's only one fast forward one each leg of the race.

The first team that finds it can skip all tasks

and go directly to the pit stop.

However, once a team uses the fast forward

that team can never use another one

for the rest of the race so teams need to decide

when it's most advantageous to go for it.

[air whooshes]

In this fast forward, teams must search the palace grounds

for this ballroom and put on formal attire.

Then, each team member will have to successfully carry

a tray of champagne-filled glasses across

a dance floor full of waltzing couples.

The first team to cross the dance floor

with all their glasses standing upright

can claim the fast forward. - It's left, dad, to the left.

- I think it's his house.

Anybody know where Beethoven Memorial is?

- Beethoven. - Can I have the clue?

She said, "Which memorial though?"

- Oh. - We're the last place

right now.

There's nothing we can do to make our horses move faster,

except perhaps get out.

- Each house is between five and miles from here [laughs]

- This is it. I hear the music.

Feeling it.

- [Steve] We were in the Schoönbrunn Palace

with about couples dancing the waltz.

[soft music]

- We go down to this path right here, right?

- [Josh] Yeah.

Carrying these big heavy trays

with these flimsy champagne glasses full of champagne

across this room with all these people

without spilling anything. [glasses clank]

[soft music]

Be careful, pops. [soft music]

[glass clanks]

Next.

I ended up knocking that first tray all over the place

and spilled on a bunch of people.

And went back and got the next one.

- [Steve] Man, oh man, this is not so easy.

- [Josh] I know, it's hard. Be careful.

[soft music]

I didn't see him around.

I looked across the room, he was done.

Finally, I just took my old man's advice

and I walked a little slower.

[soft music]

- [Steve] Take your time.

Just go very slow. Hold it.

Step at a time, step at at time.

[soft music]

- [Josh] Yeah, yeah! Let's go, let's go!

Let's read it. Oh, we got it!

Oh, man. Oh.

Congratulations, you just won the fast forward.

Go direct to the next pit stop.

[upbeat music]

- [Phil] Having won the fast forward,

Steve and Josh can now skip all tasks

and travel by train directly to the pit stop,

the Seeschloss Orth, a -year-old castle

in the lake region of Austria.

- We just bought ourselves some time.

- We've got some time. - Let's just get

to the train station.

- So we're gonna take a taxi right now,

spend some money, and get gone.

- The hope is that the fast forward got us

into first place. - Taxi!

- Thank you for helping us, Miss.

- Yeah, this is very nice of you.

- So that's where he wrote it?

The house? - No, no, no.

No, this is the memorial.

No, we need to go to the house.

- So Jon was right [laughs]. - Double ding.

[upbeat music]

- Where's the Figaro house? - Come on, we found it. Hey!

[upbeat music]

- Most is two people in front of us.

That's the most. [soft music]

- Hey.

- Did you already check down there?

- No.

- When we got to the house, we saw Jon and Al.

They had caught up with us, but they hadn't found

the Mozart House. - It's down here.

- We wait as they ran past, we ran on in.

- Go, go. - Go.

- We're getting it. [upbeat music]

- [Contestant] This was it, right?

Figaro House, Mozart? [group chattering]

Lay it down.

We have your present. [indistinct]

- Make your way to the route marker

at the base of Donauturm.

- [Phil] Teams must now make their way across town

to the Donauturm, an , foot spire overlooking

the Danube River.

At the base of the tower, they'll find their next clue.

[upbeat music]

- Mozart, Mozart, this is it.

This is it, come on. - Good job.

- [Millie] Figaro House? Yes!

Oh, thank you. Thank you.

- Make your way to the route marker

at the base [indistinct]. - Damn.

- There he is! - We ended up

in the exact place where we first started

it was just like a kick in the butt.

- Hey, you guys. - Hey, how are you?

- Hey. - It took us forever.

- Over there.

Come the other way. - Oh, I'm sorry.

- Yeah, I'm sorry.

- Make your way to the route marker at

the base of Donauturm. [upbeat music]

- So how many stops is it? Do you know?

- Four or five.

- It looked a lot closer than that.

[upbeat music]

Beethoven?

Everybody's heard of Beethoven, so I really thought

it would be easy to find.

But that blew up in my face big time.

- Beethoven? - Beethoven.

- Thank you. - Ah.

We were completely lost,

but we met this cute little old lady

that told us she would take us where we needed to go.

Look, there's a sign. [upbeat music]

I feel like we're in Munchkin Land.

[upbeat music]

You have something for us?

Nice to meet you. Like your music.

- [Contestant] We're not old ladies,

don't even worry about that.

- Grab one. - Go, go.

Hey, grab one. - Open together.

- Roadblock.

Which of you doesn't mind hanging from their ankles?

- Me, I'll do it. [upbeat music]

- [Phil] A roadblock is a task

that only one person may perform.

In this roadblock, that person has to take

a -foot bungee jump off this immense tower.

This gigantic leap is the tallest tower jump

in all of Europe.

- There it is, it's right there.

Roadblock-- - Roadblock.

- Okay. - I'm going.

- You're gonna jump? Go. - Yeah.

[group chattering]

- Which one of you doesn't mind hanging

from their ankles? - That's me.

- That's definitely Jon. - I don't mind.

- But I get to do it. [dramatic music]

- I wanted to do the bungee jump.

That's just my cup of tea.

I love anything like that. [dramatic music]

- This looks crazy. - Three, two, one.

- Bungee. [dramatic music]

- [Tian] Oh, wow. Oh my God.

Wow. - Yeah. Whoo!

- [Tian] The bungee jump is thrilling and amazing.

- Yeah, girl.

I love things like that.

Maybe I'm [censored] up the head, but I do.

[dramatic music]

- Route info.

We'll all look at it together. - Okay.

Travel by train to the town of Gmunden, Austria,

and check in at the next pit stop.

- Yes. - The last one to check in

will be eliminated.

- [Phil] Teams must now travel miles by train

into the lake region of Austria

to the small town of Gmunden.

Then they'll have to make their way here,

The Seeschloss Orth.

This -year-old castle is the pit stop

for this leg of the race.

The last team to check in here will be eliminated.

[dramatic music]

- Have any of the teams come? [dramatic music]

- [Josh] We need tickets for Gmunden.

All right, we're ready to go.

- The fast forward got us back to some part in the race

where we can do a little bit better.

It's pretty out there, isn't it?

We'll be all right. [soft music]

- I try not to think about it too much.

I was a little wigged out.

The one thing I didn't wanna do, I'm doing [laughs].

Who wants to just dive head first?

[soft music]

- Whoo! - Here she comes, Monica.

- Two, one, bungee! - Have fun.

- Whoo! [dramatic music]

Whoo! - There she goes.

[group scream] [dramatic music]

- I love you! - I can't believe

I did that [laughs].

Where's the closest train station?

- The way we came. Let's go.

[dramatic music]

- [Chip] Go, Reichen!

- Three, two, one, bungee! - Yeah!

[dramatic music]

Whoo! [dramatic music]

- Yeah, whoo!

Travel by train to the town of Gmunden.

- This is gonna be great, man, considering my occupation

is being a human cannonball.

I wasn't concerned about jumping.

I was looking forward to it. - Bungee!

- [Jon] [whistles] Yeah, baby, whoo! [whistles]

So we got to jet to train station!

- I might need a little bit of water.

I've been having asthma and it's starting to go right now.

I don't have my asthma spray.

They made me take it out of my pocket [coughs].

Just give me a little water. - Okay.

- It's my throat. [soft music]

- You'll be fine. I wish I had my asthma spray.

[soft music]

- That is high, isn't it?

Look at that. - Three, two, one, bungee!

[dramatic music]

[Chuck cheers]

[dramatic music]

- [Chuck] I'm jealous.

Good job, Millie.

The last team to check in will be eliminated.

All right, we'll need to move now.

- [Millie] Okay.

- I wanted to go to Gmunden.

Two tickets one way. [dramatic music]

- Yo, you made it. - Whoo-hoo! Good job.

[dramatic music] [group chattering]

- We're okay. - I liked it

when I got the clue first

and I handed them their clue.

And then, we read pull a number.

So when we walked back, Dave pulled the seven

and I pulled the eight. [Dave laughs]

Wanna trade? - Yeah.

- Okay. Yeah, no big deal.

A little disappointing.

- It's not good or bad, it's just how you wanna play

the game, I guess. - Mama.

- That's get taller the closer we get, buddy.

Roadblock. - I'll go.

Save your knee, I'll go. - All right.

- Good, it's tight. - Take me.

- No, no. - I'm yours.

- I'm fine.

- I asked him if I could do it backwards

and he said, "Yeah, no problem."

He's like, "Have you done it before?"

And I lied.

I told him I did it a bunch of times.

- [Attendant] Are you ready to go?

[dramatic music]

- That's my future husband up there.

- Three-- - Three.

- [Both] Two, one, bungee!

[dramatic music]

- Whoo, hoo! - Ah.

[dramatic music]

Oh my God.

I was freaking out.

You can't do anything normal. - Alrighty.

- He's crazy.

So, how was it? You did good.

Warning, the last team to check in will be eliminated.

- [Both] Bungee! [dramatic music]

[contestant screams]

- [Both] Bungee!

- Oh my God, that's so crazy! Hey!

- That was awesome.

Travel by train to the town of Gmunden.

- We're in a very big hurry to get to Gmunden.

It would be our pleasure if you would take us there.

- To the train station. [upbeat music]

- Well, that number seven came in handy.

- We made the train with about four

or five minutes to spare.

- We're not playing as cutthroat as many of these people.

Everybody can cut corners and we've chosen

not to play that way yet.

I mean, we may argue amongst ourselves or whatever

and wanna k*ll each other, but--

- That's the stuff we gotta avoid.

Focus on that as opposed to being cutthroat

with everyone else.

I think our weakest link between us is because

it is between us.

- See that's not actually been slowing down.

- It's not good. - Oh, I think it absolutely--

- See actually you're arguing right now.

- We're scared right now because there

are three other teams on here.

We know that Steve and Dave are behind us right now

and also Russell and Cindy.

But, I mean, there could be other routes

and so we could be the last people arriving.

[soft music] [group chattering]

- I just realized that we're the th team,

but we know somebody else took the fast forward,

so we went from first to worst.

There's no way I can keep up with these guys.

There's just no way.

[dramatic music]

[dramatic music]

Let's go. - Dave and I went

into the race saying, "We'll never give up."

No way I was not gonna do that jump.

- He got to the top of the tower and it was like an eclipse.

People were saying, "What happened to the sun?"

- Jump! - Green Peace showed up

and said, "Will you stop throwing whales from the tower?"

[dramatic music]

- Travel by train to the town of Gmunden, Austria,

and check in at the next pit stop.

Last team to check in will be eliminated.

We're at least physically in last place

on our way to the pit stop unless somebody

gets lost on the way to the pit stop.

[dramatic music]

[dramatic music continues]

- I think I see the pit stop too.

- Can you say that again? - Seeschloss Orth.

- Seeschloss Orth.

The bridge it says meters, right?

[dramatic music]

- Welcome to Austria. - Steve and Josh,

you're team number one. - Yeah, again.

[dramatic music]

- Is that good? - Oh, boy.

- Nice to be number one. - Exactly.

- Oh, boy.

- We're looking to go to Gmunden.

- Vienna North? And there's a train station.

- There's a train station here?

- Yes. And I think there's trains to Gmunden.

- Wonderful. I will see what's on the next station.

[group chattering] [dramatic music]

- We're not at all nervous about our place now.

We'll be th, so tonight I'm not worried about it at all.

Have a nice train ride

down to Gmunden. - I told you that.

I've already said. - No, no, but I have to--

- I need to buy two tickets for Gmunden.

- The next train to Gmunden leaves

at : p.m. - Huh?

- How long does it take? - Two hours.

- Okay. - Oh, okay.

- I need to buy two tickets, please.

At the train station, we had a little time to k*ll.

Your dog is beautiful.

So we're sitting around.

We had a sandwich, just kind of relaxed.

[dramatic music]

- Right now, we're heading into

the train station in Gmunden.

It's every man for himself. [dramatic music]

[group chattering] [dramatic music]

- Excuse me. - We're trying to get

to Gmunden. - The train leaves

from the Vienna West Station. - Vienna West?

- Yeah. - Okay, thank you, sir.

- We got off at the wrong train station

and we have to get back on the subway.

[dramatic music]

- Welcome to Austria. - Thank you.

- Monica and Sheree, you're team number two.

- [Both] Whoo! [soft music]

- I happened to just walk in this travel agent

to get a map of Gmunden.

We came in and we bought tickets and I showed

the guy our clue and he showed us tickets to Gmund.

- Which is actually G-M-U-N-D. - But Gmunden is a small town

on the sea in the middle of Austria.

We have to go and get on another tram

and go to a different station.

- That lost us a good minutes.

- Reichen and Chip, you're team number three.

- Whoo! Oh, good. [upbeat music]

Good job. [dramatic music]

- Upstairs? Number eight? [dramatic music]

- Tian and Jaree, you're team number four.

- Whoo-hoo! - Congratulations.

- Thank you. [dramatic music]

- One guy's error thinking we were going to Gmund,

could cost us the game, but I think we're gonna be okay.

Just by the skin of our teeth.

- [Cindy] It's train number .

- [Russell] Does it get us into Gmunden faster?

Because you totally missed.

I think that's the-- - Would you let me think

for a second?

Just let me read it. - Okay. Give you one.

- [Cindy] Thank you. Appreciate it though.

- [Russell] I deal with things

just differently than she does.

I like getting it done, so it can cause a conflict.

- So it does work?

So it'll get me in five minutes earlier?

- We need to get in five minutes earlier.

[dramatic music]

- Millie and Chuck, you're team number five.

- That's pretty good. That's pretty good.

[dramatic music]

- It's kind of tough to feel optimistic right now

knowing full well that the other nine teams

are in front of us.

We're not completely giving up,

but we're prepared for the worst.

- Whoa, [chuckles].

Jon and Al, you're team number six.

- Ah. - Yeah.

- I thought it was five. - It's a two-hour train ride.

- And just going to check in on the pit stop.

I don't know. We think we're last.

- We're bumming a little bit here.

- David and Jeff. - Phil.

- Team number seven. - Sweet.

- All right. - Good job, dude.

[dramatic music]

- Still hope, man.

Don't give it up. - All right. All right.

- Kelly and Jon, you're team number eight.

- That's good. We thought we were nine.

- I guess in a little while we'll see

if we're still in it or not. [dramatic music]

[dramatic music continues]

- Steve and Dave. [Steve and Dave laugh]

- Come on, come on. - You're team number nine.

- Yes! - Oh, go away.

- You're team number nine.

You are still in "The Amazing Race."

- Steve and I do wanna win and I think we can.

- Oh, it's raining. - There's always that chance

of something else happening to other teams.

In this case, it was true. [dramatic music]

[dramatic music continues]

- Cindy and Russell, you're the last team to arrive.

Sorry to tell you, you've both been eliminated

from the race.

- We had an amazing time though.

It's good. - Certainly, good.

- I'm a competitive person and I love being that way

and I hate losing.

- When you guys came into this, I believe you wanted

to learn something about each other.

What did you learn about Russell?

- Well, kind of what I already knew,

but I don't think I was placed in a situation with him.

I had felt a little lack of loyalty in working together

just for a couple days,

but those couple days were detrimental.

The competitiveness and determination,

which is a great thing, but it's a double-edged sword too.

When the chips are down,

I gotta see that you're right there.

If you're not, then it's gonna affect how I feel.

- It's disappointing and it's a letdown,

but, you know what, it was great?

[soft music]

- [Phil] Stay tuned for scenes from our next episode.

[dramatic music]

On the next episode of "The Amazing Race."

At a high speed roadblock-- - Feeling cagey and hot.

- Chuck has a panic attack. - Come on, Chuck.

You gotta hustle.

And Tian and Jaree cause a showdown in Marseille.

- I'm not even getting involved in this conversation.

- Just check your tires when you pull out because,

oh God, you never know what'll happen.
