- [Phil] Previously on "The Amazing Race,"

eight teams set out from this year old

fortress in Portugal.

Desperate for help, Andre and Damon

bought into the brotherhood alliance.

- We'll give you euros if you guys just help us

with this part of the leg.

- Okay, you're in, you're in, you're in.

- [Phil] Teams drove to these steep cliffs

where they were forced to face their worst fears.

- I wanna get out, pleas!

- [Phil] After putting the wrong type of fuel

in their vehicles. - She needs a nice batch

of unleaded. - Four of the teams

found themselves stranded in Spain.

- Dammit! - Some rose to the challenge.

- Watch out, gas is flowing out.

[engine revving] - I love you!

- This is cool. - While others

had their confidence shaken. - Now we're done.

- I'm so humiliated right now.

- [Phil] Ken and Gerard finished first.

- Yeah! - And Michael and Kathy,

who slipped far behind, were eliminated.

Now, seven teams remain, who will be eliminated tonight?

[upbeat music]

[upbeat music]

This is the city of Fez,

the religious and cultural epicenter of Morocco.

And high on a hill to the north, the Borj Nord,

a massive fortress built more than years ago.

This was the fifth pit stop in a race around the world.

Teams arrived here at the end of the last leg

for a mandatory rest period.

And have no idea what's in store for them.

They'll have to figure out for themselves

how to get to the next yellow and red route marker

by solving clues they'll find in sealed envelopes.

Will ally teams Ken and Gerard, and Derek and Drew,

still be able to work together effectively,

now that Andre and Damon are positioned between them.

And will Terry and Ian, the oldest team ever

to reach the sixth leg of the race,

continue to avoid elimination?

Ken and Gerard, who were the first to arrive

at : PM, will depart at : AM.

- Drive yourself to the Hassan Mosque in Casablanca.

You have $ for this leg of the race.

- Ah, we're off to Casablanca. - Casablanca.

- [Phil] Teams must now drive themselves nearly miles

to the city of Casablanca

and find the Hassan II Mosque, bested only by Mecca itself.

This mosque is the second largest religious monument

in the world. [upbeat music]

- We gotta hit the road to Casablanca.

Lord knows how long that is.

We're on top again, and really feeling awesome,

but we have to stay sharp, because when we're sharp,

and when we're on it, we do very well.

Well, that's good. [car revving]

While I look at this map, you wanna maybe try

and flag a cab? - Yes.

- We need taxis to say,

"Hey, can you direct us to this location?

This aint easy. - Middle of Morocco, no cab.

- All right, let's see what we got.

- What's up, baby, see where we're going.

- Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca.

- We both feel gratified being in the second position,

'cause we've been fighting for survival.

And now that we are with lead pack.

- We need these guys. - Cause they're pretty

resourceful. - And by hanging with them,

we can maintain this lead.

- , , , $, come on. - Come on.

This will be our third leg and in alliance

with Ken Gerard.

We'll just catch up to them. - Okay.

- They're well traveled and it's still beneficial

to work together, and they're a really strong team.

- You speak English?

We have to go to Casablanca.

- Something's happening. Hold on.

- No, I think he's telling us who the road is.

- To catch that big highway, right?

I have to go South?

- So, I'm gonna wait here. - All right.

- We got stuck with Andre and Damon.

They basically said we are following you.

We are gonna stay on your butt.

- And we're like, "Huh, oh, alright."

Why waste the energy on trying to get rid of them?

- We're hiring a cab now. - Great.

- We're coming to deal with them twins.

- We're all set, we got a cab.

We're going to Caribean. - Okay, cool.

- Let's roll. [upbeat music]

- Don't lose that guy.

[upbeat music]

- We're in a caravan going to Casablanca.

- And hopefully we don't get separated,

'cause we've given up our maps to Ken and Gerard.

Our brotherhood with the twins

has been beneficial to both of us,

but I don't know if they can read a map as well as Gerard.

And , no way, they can't read a map.

They don't know where they're going.

[upbeat music]

[paper tearing]

- All right, let's do it, guys.

- Go, got some ground there. - John Vito and Jill

are a great team for us to pair up with,

because they're really honest.

So, I'm not worried about them.

Okay, straight to the left and then straight.

- Okay, we'll follow you. - Okay.

- We get along great with Flo and Zach.

And it's just beneficial for both of us

to put our minds together and try to pull away

from the guys behind us.

- Drive yourselves to the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca.

- Oorah, we'd rather be in the fourth position

than the sixth position, but it's not a big deal,

and we're gonna hit the ground running.

Okay, now grab the map. - Where is, oh.

You just handed it to me. - I just handed you the map,

Terra. - I thought you knew

the route. - Terra, if I'd known

last night which way we were going.

- Well you should have planned both ways.

We talked about it. - Please don't berate me.

Time is of the essence, I'm gonna hammer down.

Show them what the old folks can do.

This is one of our teams, I think.

- Just keep going, go around them.

That's both of them.

- Hey. Look who's here.

- Oorah, we're ahead of them.

- Ian and Terry got ahead of us.

- Look at the temperature gauge, it's on.

- Each, what do you want me to do?

Something just blew. [intense music]

- I think one turned off.

- Look at it, it's the radiator.

- I think that- - We do wanna go to Rabat.

- That's what I, yeah, that's what I thought.

And then there's a super highway from Rabat.

- That's correct. - To Casablanca.

- Right. - They have a horrible sense

of direction, I would rather not follow them.

- Monsieur, Rabat?

- See ya. - We blew by them.

- Merci.

Okay, they took the lead.

- We somehow lost John and Jill behind us.

- They're not there?

Where would they have gone?

- If something happened to their car,

we would've definitely at least stopped

to make sure everyone was okay.

[intense music]

- Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca.

We did entertain the notion last night

that perhaps it was all over for us,

but we're still totally in it.

I think we have a lot more to give to this race

and we're just gonna keep running.

- [speaking french]

I mean, we don't speak the language here

and we don't really speak French.

You just scream at people and they seem to respond

really, really well.

- [Phil] If a car breaks down through no fault of the team

or becomes completely inoperable,

the rule is that a replacement car

may be given to the team at their request.

However, no time credit will be given

for this unlucky situation.

- Let's go.

It's been about an hour since we broke down,

and now we're headed to Casablanca.

[upbeat music]

- We're looking for the Mosque.

- You're looking for the Mosque.

- Yeah, where is it?

Thank you.

[upbeat music]

There's a flag.

[upbeat music]

- You can't run in here, we have to walk.

- Make your way into the desert to The Palmerie.

- [Phil] Teams must now travel miles by train

to the city of Marrakech.

From there, they'll have to take a taxi

to the outskirts of the city

and find this large Oasis known as the Palmerie.

- Let's get to a train station.

- Look, if somehow get right onto a train, it'd be amazing.

[upbeat music]

- This Teri and Ian? - Yes.

The hat, it can't mistake him for anyone.

- How much, ? - They just passed us.

- We need to get off of the highway.

- I'm telling you, - You missed another exit.

Don't tell me to chill out again.

- You're making a mistake by getting off the highway

so fast, but if you want me to, I'll do it.

I'm gonna follow your direction and what the outcome

is your responsibility, because I think it's a mistake.

- Well then stay on.

- I'm going to go a little bit further.

Central Village in Central town.

- This could be it, this is like the center of the town,

Ian and Teri stayed on the highway.

- They got off. - They got off?

- Yeah. - We'll get off here

and try to make our way to the Mosque.

- [speaking in french] - What did he say?

- This way. - You know?

- Si. - You take me.

- Si. - I follow you.

Just hired this taxi to take us to the Hassan Mosque.

- That's it, I see the flag.

- There was no Fast Forward with that stuff, correct?

- Correct. - Okay.

If we take the Fast Forward today,

there's a good chance we won't get eliminated.

So I see what happens.

- So we have to go to the - Train station?

- Yeah. - All right.

- There is the flag. - I see it.

- [Zach] All right, let's go.

- [speaking in french]

- Momentum. - No, this is mine.

- I hired his cab, he's mine.

- He's hiring our cab, don't go.

- How much do I owe you?

You stay here, you stay here, we be back.

- No, what do you mean, stay here?

- I want him to stay here.

- Well get another one, let him-

- I want him to stay here.

- You don't need to yell, it's really rude.

I didn't know that was your taxi.

- I want him to stay here.

When I make a decision, it's a decision and that's it.

- We're a team.

- It's not nice to yell at me like that.

I'm not, he's not my.

Let's go, I wanna beat them.

- Let's see what the Fast Forward is.

- Go to the flagged carpet shop in Marrakech.

- [Phil] There's only one Fast Forward

on each leg of the race.

The first team that finds it can skip all tasks

and go directly to the pit stop.

However, once a team uses the Fast Forward,

that team can never use another one

for the rest of the race.

So teams need to decide when it's most advantageous

to go for it.

To claim this Fast Forward teams have to find this shop

in the city of Marrakech and search through hundreds of rugs

to find the one with the Fast Forward symbol

woven into the design.

- Gare de Casa Voyageurs. - What is that?

- That's the name of the train station.

- Oh, Gare de Casa Voyageurs,

that's it, that's it.

We're the car right in the front, good.

- We're going to Marrakech - Marrakech.

- Marrakech. - Marrakech, yeah good.

- Marrakech, what time does it leave?

- About minutes. - Oh, in minutes?

Give me two tickets. - Two right here.

- [Gerard] We're not gonna get train, Derek.

- Yes we are.

- Oh, I see a flag. - Yeah?

- You see it?

[upbeat music] [train clattering]

:, when was the last one?

[train whistling]

:. - Oh.

- Just missed it.

[upbeat music]

- The train just left at :.

Old brother, twins, team , all on that train.

And the next one isn't until :.

It's frustrating.

- Let's go. Let's go. - Stop talking to me

like that, Teri, or I'm gonna blow.

- [Flo] Ian and Teri are here.

- Hello. - Hello, what happened

with Jill and John? - Nowhere to be found.

- We're in second to last place right now, that sucks.

- We've been in the back before, we're professionals.

- Yeah. - We're professionals

at moving up. [upbeat music]

- We should stop at a gas station.

Get a map of Casablanca.

- Early in the game it was nice,

because we didn't have a lot to worry about

in terms of being eliminated.

Now we're at the end of the pack.

I fully believe in Aaron.

He and I work together so well.

And I think that's all we really need at this point.

- We really ought to think about this Fast Forward.

- I wanna take it.

Teri and Ian are nipping at our heels.

- We'd be so much better off if we could get

through this leg on our own, kick ass.

Beat out Teri and Ian, and still have the Fast Forward.

It'll be so good.

- We need to stay in the race, Teri.

- We will, and if we take the Fast Forward now,

we cut our throats for later.

- If we get eliminated where our throats are cut.

I'm telling you they're gonna go after us.

- I just think we have what it takes to beat Teri and Ian.

- Let's not be stupid.

Look, now even if you beat out Teri and Ian,

John and Jill can beat us,

unless John and Jill don't show up.

If they're not here, then we won't take it.

- I understand, let's wait and see

what happens with John and Jill.

- Fast Forward. - Let's read this

in the car, let's go.

- Since we keep falling behind,

we are going to do the Fast Forward.

Jill said to me, "I don't want to take any chances."

She's been making pretty much all the decisions

and she's always right.

It's because of Jill why we've gotten this far

and I don't wanna let her down.

- Do you see them? - Aw man, oh man.

- Jill. - What happened?

I don't understand. - We were driving on the road

right behind you guys, when Teri and Ian

were coming up behind us and our radiator exploded.

- At this point, since they're here, they've caught up.

I just think we need to secure ourselves

a place in the race right now.

- If they ask us if we going for the Fast Forward,

straight up, "No?" - Just let me deal with it.

Let me answer it, okay.

I'm a much better liar than you.

- John and Jill are here.

So the only ones that are in position

take a Fast Forward now are the people

that are on this train, and Aaron and Arianne.

- All right, we gotta find the train station

on Casablanca. - And out of all those people,

anybody could take it. - Just wait.

- Wait for what?

- I'm trying to tell you I'm a little on the tired side.

- So am I. - That's why maybe

we should take the Fast Forward.

- Our Fast Forward is in Marrakech.

Hopefully we'll be able to just swing by the Fast Forward

and it'll still be there.

And all our prayers will be answered.

[train whistles] [upbeat music]

- Let's hustle, baby.

Train to Marrakech, two tickets, please.

- When did the last train leave?

- [Ticket Seller] :.

[upbeat music]

- Ken and Gerard and us are on our way to Marrakech,

with Damon and Andre who is basically following us.

Right now, it's fine, 'cause so far

it hasn't really jeopardized either of our position.

[upbeat music]

- La Palmerie, la Palmerie.

- Stick with them. [upbeat music]

- This isn't fun when you're just stopped in a cab.

Ken and Gerard are ahead of us now,

'cause they made this light.

We just have an agreement with Ken and Gerard.

We share information on the long portions of the legs.

And then when we hit detours and roadblocks,

you're on your own.

- Detour.

- Ooh. - Now you see it,

now you don't.

- A detour is a choice between two tasks,

each with its own pros and cons.

In this detour, teams need to choose between,

"Now you see it" and, "Now you don't."

In "Now you see it," teams choose a pair of horses.

ride to this route marker, which they are able to see

from where they are, and dig for clues

painted on pottery, hidden in the sand.

They won't have to travel far,

but traveling by horse might be slow going.

And digging up their clues could take a long time.

In "Now you don't," teams choose a sand bike,

ride along a marked course to a route marker

they are not able to see from where they are.

And make a rubbing of a clue etched on a stone.

They'll have to take a leap of faith,

traveling an unknown distance,

but the sand bikes are fast

and making a rubbing of their clue

shouldn't take long at all.

- Sand bikes, let's ride. - Five speed.

- Oh it's five speed and I don't know how to do that.

Wanna ride the horses? - Oh, there it is.

Right there. - Go, go, go, go, go.

- Straight where that, see that yellow and red flag.

- Oh yeah, they go to red flag right there.

- Come on, Ken. - Detour.

- Detour. - Do you wanna take horses?

No, let's take the bikes, let's go, let's go.

- Dog, let's kick up some dust in ATVs.

[upbeat music] - Ah, ha, ah!

I'm too fat for this horse. - Gee dee hup.

- Whoa, whoa, whoa. - Go to the flag!

- To the flag!

[engines revving] - Okay, go, go, go.

- Go follow the dirt track.

Go to the arrow, you've got to stay on the track.

[upbeat music] [engines revving]

- What are we looking for? - A ceramic pot and lid.

- I got something. - What is it?

- It's a beautiful rock. - Beautiful rock.

[upbeat music]

- The ATV for the detour ended up a little aggravating.

I mean, it was so dusty

and we were just flying all over the place.

All of a sudden we realized

we were going the wrong direction.

Damon and Andre were doing the same thing.

- It's a little bit of mix up.

Derek and Drew, Andre and I back up.

Okay look, we can't find this thing.

Let's ride together and look for it together.

- The dogs do it. - Go Fido, go!

- Oh Lord, help us. - Oh man.

Talk about a needle in a haystack.

- Ah! - Let's leave, come on,

let's just go back. - Well, let's go.

[engine revving] [upbeat music]

- Oh, there it is, right there.

Go, go, go.

- Whoever translates, man, has to translate Arabic.

- [Phil] Teams need to find someone to translate their clue,

which is mostly in Arabic.

Once the clue is translated, teams will discover

they must find transportation

back to the center of Marrakech,

locate the Cafe Glacier, and make their way to the roof.

However, this outdoor terrace doesn't open to the public

until just before dinner time, : PM.

- : PM. Okay. [engine revving]

- [Gerard] Okay, let's go, Ken.

- Free flow. - We should follow the mark,

straight over here. [engine revving]

- Andre and I were the first ones to complete the detour.

We're now in the first place.

- But we didn't know what Glacier was

and we couldn't interpret the Arabic.

So I said, "Damon, we're just gonna follow those guys."

- Why don't we just team up

and just quick get to this place.

- We thought Ken and Gerard had k*lled us

and were on their way.

And it's just too hard to keep track of everybody, and so.

- It was just smart to bring Damon and Andre

along at this point.

- Yeah, this is our clue.

So can we get it a little neater?

[engine revving] [upbeat music]

- Let's figure it out.

Do you want to ask up here at the shack?

- D, have her read the Arabic portion.

- What is this? - The name of cafe?

- The name of cafe. - Yeah.

- Is it here? - It's Glacier Cafe.

- In Marrakech? - Glacier, yes.

- Marrakech, yes. - Taxi!

- He's coming. - Okay, we'll follow, yeah.

- On to the Glacier Cafe in Marrakech, huh?

[upbeat music]

- We've decided to go ahead and use the Fast Forward.

I really think if we can run a clean race,

after we get this Fast Forward today,

we will be in the top three at the end.

[upbeat music]

- Quick pace. Quick pace. - Guys.

We're gonna go for the Fast Forward.

- So are we. - Let's let them go for it.

- I wanna go for it. - Taxi.

- Close the door. - Wow, we fly.

- I would like to go for it,

because I don't want Ian and Teri to get it.

- Let's sh**t it out. - Okay.

- Winner chooses. - Okay.

- Rock, paper, scissors, sh**t.

Aah! - We decide.

It's up to you. - All right, let's go for it.

- Okay. - We were gonna do it.

We'll go for it. - Get it.

- All right. - Okay.

- Taxi. - See you guys!

- Bye guys, love you!

- I hope Teri and Ian don't go for Fast Forward.

- [John Vito] We can beat them if we're being honest.

[upbeat music]

- [Ian] We're in a contest to go to the Fast Forward.

So we have to go very fast.

[upbeat music]

- To claim the Fast Forward, go to the flagged carpet shop

and search for the carpet

with the Fast Forward emblem woven onto it.

[upbeat music]

- Right over there. - Where?

- Just trust me and jog.

I see the flag, voila!

- This one. - How do you know?

- It's marked? - Wait a minute.

- Start here. - You start here.

You jumped in, you gotta be looking, using your eyes.

- Oh, we've got sand.

Let's do this pile together.

- You gotta wait for me, you gotta wait for me.

[upbeat music]

Oh, we got more company. - Oh god.

- Everyone wants the Fast Forward.

[upbeat music]

- Oh man, there's a flag.

- Oh, I'm ready to leave the Sahara, that's for sure.

- Hey guys, it's a bitch.

Can you take me?

- What do you mean it's a bitch?

- It's a bitch.

- What should I do? - What should I do?

You think I'm gonna tell you.

- Oh, come on, Kenny, I'm four hours behind, you rat.

Okay bye, Ken! - See you later, honey!

- Glacier, you know where it is, you know?

- Yes. - Okay, good.

- First come, first robbed, whatever.

- Let's do it. - Whatever.

We've got to do this fast.

[upbeat music]

- Got it! - Got it! Yeah!

- Let's go. - Good luck. Good luck.

- Thanks Jill. - It's all right, come on.

Let's go, let's go, let's go.

- Good luck.

Thank you, merci. - You want some tea?

- Some tea. - Thank you.

- Tea. [speaking foreign language]

[upbeat music]

- I would've liked to do the Fast Forward, but that's okay.

Hopefully it will all work out.

Now, we're gonna go to the regular route marker,

which is the Palmerie.

- We got it. Yes! - Congratulations.

You've won the Fast Forward.

- Having won the Fast Forward,

Terry and Ian can now skip all tasks

and go directly to the pit stop,

the rooftop of The Riad Catalina,

a traditional Moroccan guest house in Marrakech.

- There's one right there, taxi.

Teri, come! - This is the address, okay?

I got it. - Thank god.

[upbeat music]

- Zach, what was that?

Zach has been the most amazing partner.

- Go too fast. - I want you to try

to turn this around, I'm not staying on it.

This race is so taxing, and as a result,

I haven't been very nice to him, sometimes.

He's so laid back, and I'm like a bat outta hell.

It's definitely been one really long,

stressful, dirty date.

Ow! - Ooh, the dust.

- Ow! - Let's go.

- You wanna do the sand dunes? - Yeah.

[engine revving]

- Get mine out. - I'm trying.

Get it on your back.

There's the Riad Catalina, right there.

Come on, we're on a clock here!

- Go! [upbeat music]

- Welcome to Marrakech. - Thank you.

- Teri and Ian, you're team number one.

- Hell yeah! - Yeah! [laughs]

- Now I've got some good news for you.

As the winners of this sixth leg of the race.

You've each won a Kodak Easy Share Digital Camera,

which you can enjoy after the race.

- Thank you very much.

- So what's making your strategy work?

- We're a team, we're a team.

- We fight and we maybe talk nasty sometimes,

but after when the push comes to shove, we shove together.

- Glacier.

What do you think this says?

Glacier, how do we know what Glacier is?

[engine revving]

- Is this all it is?

[engine revving]

- All right let's go Z.

Ask him what the thing says.

- Cafe Glacier. - [speaking in french]

- [Zach] We need a taxi as soon as possible.

- Taxi? - [speaking in french]

- We're on our way to the Glacier Cafe.

This is where a grouping may happen again

because the place open to :,

so this may be a point where some groups

are able to catch up with us.

[horn beeping]

- Go fast, where do we get taxis, this way?

- Yes. - Let's go.

As fast as you can go, it's an emergency.

- [Arianne] We're gonna snag this little Fast Forward,

and we are gonna win this leg.

[upbeat music] - Let's go.

- [Flo] Taxi, oh!

- Hey look, look, look, look. - What?

- Zach. - Yo.

- Yo. - Ian and Teri got it.

- [Flo] All right, let's go.

Cafe Glacier. - Cafe Glacier, he knows.

[upbeat music]

- This is it?

Okay yeah, I see the flag, I see the flag.

We gotta wait, it's not : yet.

[engine revving] - This is here?

Okay, okay.

- Okay, merci beaucoup.

Go, go, go.

We got to the Fast Forward place.

Was somebody already here?

We walked in to find out quite immediately.

- Sorry Fast Forward taken. - All right,

let's get out of here. - Dammit.

- There's a taxi. - Go, go, go.

We had two plans, plan A, which failed,

so now we're making our way into the desert to the Palmerie,

an extra five minutes is not gonna make a big deal.

- I really think we're gonna run into a line or something

that is gonna force everybody to catch up to each other.

So that is what we really hoping to have happen.

- We're really, really hoping.

[upbeat music]

This is rue Palmerie.

- Can you take us to the flag?

- Let's take the sand things. [engine revving]

- All right look, woo.

Okay, the sign over there. [engine revving]

[upbeat music]

- Did you grab it?

Roadblock. - Roadblock.

- A roadblock is task that only one person may perform.

In this roadblock,

that person has to team up with a local food vendor,

help him assemble his stall,

and personally sell five balls of escargot,

a favorite snack for Moroccans.

Once the teams have sold five bowls of snails,

at the market rate of five Dirhams each, about cents,

the vendor will give them their next clue.

- You wanna do it? - No, you can do it.

- Okay, I'll do it.

- Come on, let's do it. - Here?

[upbeat music]

- Come on, come on, set the seats, set the seats up, yes.

[upbeat music]

- Ooh. [upbeat music]

- Come on, who want some?

Everybody. - All right, five Dirhams.

- Let's go Dre!

[upbeat music] - Aah! Aah!

- You can't scream like that. - Well we went into the thing.

- I can't, because you scream and freak out.

[engine revving]

- So just fill it? - Yes.

- All right, there you go, there you go.

- Come on, come on, yeah. - He's done.

- It's route info, collect your partner.

Check in at the next pit stop,

the rooftop of the Riad Catalina.

[upbeat music]

- Teams must now make their way

through the crowded streets of Marrakech

and find a place called Riad Catalina.

The rooftop of this traditional Moroccan guest house

is the pit stop for this leg of the race.

The last team to check in here will be eliminated.

- Let's go, coming through.

- Good job dog, I was watching with the binoculars.

Let's go team, team , where out!

- That's it. That's it, right? - Yeah.

- Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whoa! - Come on.

- Jill, come on! Let's go girl!

Watch yourself, watch out for that bike, Jill!

- You're doing well. - Let's get a taxi.

- You did awesome, you got a line.

- I was talking in Arabic, he told me how to talk in Arabic.

- Do you know where it's at?

- Yeah, come on, come on.

- Very fast. - We need to go very fast.

- That's five? - Five.

- Five, okay. thank you, thank you.

- All right, Gerard! - Go, Flo!

- Five, whoa! - Go, go, go, whoo.

[upbeat music]

- Riad Catalina, Derb Abdellah Ben Hssain, do you know?

Oui? - Oui, oui.

- Let's go. [speaking French]

[upbeat music] [hooters blowing]

- Do I take a taxi or walk? - No, I'll walk.

- Walk. - Walk.

- Through there? - Minutes.

- Hotel a minute walk. - Yes.

- Okay. Enough.

- Let's go, come on, let's get in.

Come on. [upbeat music]

- Riad Catalina, oui?

- This is the frustrating part about this,

because we don't control our destiny.

Our destiny is in this driver's hand.

The city could be in a totally opposite direction

and we don't know it.

- Whoa! [engine revving]

- Let's get outta here. - Oh my God.

Is this open? - Yes.

- Oh, super, super duper.

- Glacier do not open until :.

So I mean, no matter what, we've seem to have gained

on the rest of the pack.

- At least by a couple hours. - By a couple of hours.

It could still be anyone's game.

- Riad Catalina is okay?

[speaking French]

Get out, get out. - Is this it?

Okay. Thank you. - Come on, Zach!

[upbeat music]

- Come on, come on. - Through here, here?

- Riad Catalina. Hey, hey amigo.

Hello, hello. [upbeat music]

- Whoa. - Flo an Zach.

You're team number two. - All right.

- Whoa! [upbeat music]

- Hi. - Ken and Gerard,

your team number three. - Great, all right!

- We'll take it.

- Our taxi cab take us to this desolate city

that has no resemblance of downtown Marrakech.

Riad Catalina, ? - A local guy,

just sitting at a local merchant, we ask him where it is.

He tells us, yeah, right down this alley.

So we suit up, we grab our bags.

We hustling down this alley.

We make right hand turn and into this little tiled area.

And it's a mosque.

- Inside, it's only for Muslim.

- Okay, where can we go then?

How do we go? - Do we have to go round

the back, I need to see a flag right now.

And this guy takes across the dusty road,

in the the back of another neighborhood.

Does that look like that's it?

The doors are closed. - Nothing looks like it.

- There's no flag, that's why we need to get out of here.

- We think, okay, something obviously has gone wrong.

Some man just dropped this off in the middle of nowhere.

Middle of nowhere.

- Started to get scared, started to become fear

for our own safety, pretty traumatizing experience.

While we're waiting for our taxi cab to come up,

the local official come to us.

He asked for our passports and we're detained.

Officially detained. [intense music]

- No, Riad. - Riad and.

- Here, here, here, here, here.

Ask him. - Okay, let's get out.

You know Riad Catalina? [speaking foreign language]

- We're walking.

- I don't understand Arabic,

but this guy has no clue where he is going

and he's k*lling me.

- Jill, let's get out. - Let's walk.

- Stop, stop, stop. - Stop, stop, stop, wait.

Wait, let's run. - This is it.

Can we go? - Yeah, let's go.

[upbeat music]

- What is the street's name? - Riad Catalina.

- It's right, right, right. [upbeat music]

- Oh, here it is. - Derek and Drew.

You're team number four. - Oh my god. All right.

- John Vito and Jill, you're team number five.

- Right. - Yes.

- Whoa!

- The official asked us to follow him to his office.

So we followed him to his office

and he wanted us to surrender our passports to him.

We refused to surrender our passports.

So we're held there for who knows how long.

And then our security staff

were able to come and negotiate for us.

- And we're to resume the race.

- Hey all, this whole race

we've been performing from zero to hero,

back to zero,, back to hero.

Due to the cab driver taking the wrong turn,

we went from hero to zero again.

- Andrea and Damon, your team number six.

- All right.

When Phil told us we were not in last place,

I almost didn't really hear him,

'cause I was just glad to hear his voice

and know we were in the right place.

Took a wrong turn, but we recovered.

The race is not over by any stress of the imagination.

[upbeat music]

- Whoo. - Road Block. Me?

And today we went through the whole day hopeful.

And I think that sometimes ignorance is bliss.

It was a good time, thank you.

Wow!

- All right, let's get this show on the road,

ladies and gentlemen.

we've always had a really special friendship

and a really special connection.

- Whoa! - years ago

I knew that I'd found my match.

Feels good to have that person in my life.

You were brilliant.

- I have no regrets about how he performed on this race.

It just made me realize how thankful I am

to have Arianne in my life.

If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't be half the person

that I am, so.

- Aaron and Arianne, you're the last team to arrive.

- Yes, Phil - Sorry to tell you

you've both been eliminated from the race.

- Yeah, yeah, yeah. - Yeah, yeah, yeah.

That was a real shocker, Phil.

We had a great time, had some good laughs.

We met some really good people, we didn't give up.

And I think that's an important thing.

Our last two handshake. Woo!

- Woo! - Woo!

[soothing music]

- [Phil] Stay tuned for scenes from our next episode.

On the next episode of "The Amazing Race"

Flo sets her sights on Andre and Damon.

[Speaking French]

The twins have a communication breakdown.

- It's not this man. - No! In the book!

- [Phil] And Ken and Gerard have a blowout of their own.

[tire blowing] - Caramba, what was that?

[upbeat theme tune]

[upbeat music]

[upbeat music continues]
