Hi there! Come on in.

[sniffs]

Ooh, tell me, did you just
have some blueberries?

Cause you smell
like blueberries.

[sniffs]

Or maybe you just smell
this sweet all the time?

[chuckles]

Anyway... Come on,
into the kitchen.

I was going to run out to
pick up a few things we need.

You know, stuff like, uh...

milk, eggs, butter,
bread, carrots...

from the Woodland
Valley General Store.

TREELO: Store?

Did we hear someone say
a trip to the General Store?

I just love the General Store.

-Well, yeah. so do I...
-Yeah, yeah!

I just love that General
Store too. So much great stuff.

And that Jeremiah. He's a
funny one, Bear! A funny one!

-Jeremiah funny.
-Yeah, he is funny...

Can we go too, Bear?

Oh! Well, sure,
if you want to come with me

to do a little shopping?

-Is someone going Shopping?
-Uh-huh.

Yeah guys, I mean, if you want
to come and buy some stuff too?

Yeah! Cool! We wanna buy stuff.

Um... how
do you buy stuff, Bear!

Yeah, you know, we see
you go into the general store,

and then you come out and
you've got all of this stuff...

-Yeah. How does that work, Bear?
-Yeah?

Oh,
well. Buying is... Hey. Buying!

Wow! Whoa...

Buying is when
you go to a store...

And you get stuff you need,
well,

you give the
storekeeper money...

and then you get
the stuff you need.

Like... Bread... milk,
or juice...

Huh!

Or you could go to a store

and get something you want like

an ice cream
cone with sprinkles!

Ooooooohhh...

But I have one other question,
Bear...

the whole money thing... um,
how does that work, exactly?

Oh, um... Money.

Well...

money is just what you trade
for stuff you need or want!

Oh.

All over the world,
there's all kinds of money.

Here in Woodland Valley,
we use Clams.

Clams! We love clams.

[laughs]

Yep, this is one
Woodland Valley Clam.

Oooooh... cooooool...

Yeah, but how do you get money,
Bear?

Yeah. We want to spend
some money at the store!

Yeah.

Oh. Well, there are two
ways you can get money...

-Aha, yes...
-One way

is that you can sell things.

The other way is ...well,
you can go to work.

Work! We can do that! Bye, Bear!

Guys!? I mean... not right now.

Yeah, we could sell something
to make money. Couldn't we not?

Well sure, why not, Ojo!

Well, yes,
you could... but, now?

-Bye, Bear!
-Wait. Tutter? Treelo? Ojo?

Wait! You guys, wait. I mean...

You don't have to do
it right now. You can...

[door close]

So, I'm not going to
the store just yet... Yup!

[ music plays]

There goes two
satisfied customers.

Lemonade!
Get your lemonade here.

Oh, so you guys are
selling lemonade, huh?

Uh huh.

Wow! That's great!
Oh, thanks well,

we're trying to earn some money,
if we're going

to go get some
great stuff at the store!

Hey, you guys! Look!
We can sell these too!

-Wow. Cookies.
-Yeah. I Very nice.

What a good idea
Ojo. So... uh...

how's it going? How's business?

Business is really picking up,
Bear...

Oh yeah. Big rush.

Yeah, you know, we should
have enough clams by, um...

-tomorrow...
-Or maybe the next day.

Yeah.

Uh huh... um...

Aha! [clears throat]

You know, all of a sudden,
I'm rather thirsty.

[gasps]

You are?

Why yes, I am. In fact,
I could drink

let me see, why, a whole
pitcher's worth of lemonade.

Really?

Yes I could. How much
for the whole pitcher?

Oh... Urn...

Just a minute. My partners
and I have to talk.

Right!

[whispers]

Bear, you can have the
whole pitcher for two clams!

-Two clams.
-Two clams.

Two clams? That is a fair price.

Yeah!

And while we're on the subject,
how much for all of the cookies?

[gasps]

[whispers]

Same thing. Two clams.

Uh huh. Two clams.

-Whataya say, Bear?
-Yeah, yeah?

Huh... two clams for cookies?
Two clams for lemonade?

Wow, you guys are
really getting the hang of

this whole buying
and selling thing.

-Yeah.
-Well then,

here you go... four clams.

-We're rich.
-Cha-ching

Now we should really find Pip
and Pop...

Bear! You bought it.

Don't you want to
drink it? It's delicious.

-Um...
-Yeah.

I had a feeling you'd
say that. Sure, uh...

I'm in the mood
for some lemonade.

-He's gonna love it.
-Yum yum.

[slurping]

Wow! He drink the whole thing.

Look at him go!

Wow! How was it? Good, right?
Right? It was good, right?

Mm hm. What kind
of lemonade... is this, exactly?

Oh, it has a secret
ingredient. Right guys?

-Salt!
-Salt?

I mean, it's the same thing,
right? It looks like the same.

-And the cookies too!
-I mean, what's the diff?

Well, let me
same my cookies for later, okay?

-Alright Bear.
-Okay.

And we should really
find Pip and Pop.

Huh?

Pip? Pop? Are you guys alright?

-You look a little... kind of...
-Full?

Yup. Full would be the
word you're looking for.

[burp] Excuse me.

Guys,
did you eat all of those clams?

We did, Bear!

We needed the shells.

It was rough,
but somebody had to do it.

We had to find some
way to make money

for our trip to the store, Bear.

Yeah, we want to buy stuff!

Oh, guys... I'm sorry. I
think you misunderstood.

You see, those are regular
clams. They're not like this.

This is a Woodland Valley clam.
This is Woodland Valley money.

We know, Bear! We...

Hello, Pip and Pop!

Hey, Lois!

Oh my, these are wonderful!

I can make some marvelous
jewelry out of these!

Here you go! Clams
for your clams!

-Oh, I'm so full.
-Oh, full tummy.

[snoring]

Well... Hello...
Bear! Hey everyone.

-Hey Jeremiah.
-We want to buy.

-I want something nice.
-I want cheese.

Treelo not sure
what Treelo want.

Well, here at the Woodland
Valley General Store,

we've got just about everything!

Ooo!

♪ Come on down take a look
around it can all be found ♪

♪ But we've got it all
who needs the mall? ♪

♪ -A pumpkin
-A mitten! ♪

♪ Trousers for a kitten! ♪

♪ Sure,
they got that kind of stuff ♪

♪ -mouthwash and gargle ♪
♪ -remote control marbles ♪

♪ If you don't see
what you like ♪

♪ You're not lookin'
hard enough ♪

♪ Everything's at
the general store, ♪

♪ General store if it
ain't on the shelves, ♪

♪ It's probably on the floor ♪

♪ So, buy what you need,
and then buy more ♪

♪ Step right in with
your money and a grin ♪

♪ To the best store that's
ever been the general store! ♪

[laughs]

So, what can I get ya?

So much, let's see...

What have we got.

Guys, I'll be right here when
you decide what you want. Okay?

[chatters]

Let's see... What do I need?

Hmm...

[Shadow laughs]

Did you hear that?

[Shadow laughs]

That sounds like
Shadow. You know,

if we sing our song together,
and look really hard,

she might appear. Ready?

what have you been doing today?

I've been hopping
with the grasshoppers

Hi, I'm a turtle. Like my purse?

♪ Who saved a penny a day ♪

Here it is, one penny.

♪ Each week she
went to the bank ♪

Oh, what a nice bank building.

♪ To put the money away ♪

A penny saved is a penny earned.

for a hundred years ♪

♪ Finally she went up
to the friendly cashier ♪

Please, I'd like my money now.

♪ She said, ladylike ♪

♪ And went off and
bought a fast motorbike ♪

Wow! That was a great story,
Shadow!

I'm glad you liked

[laughs]

[sniffs] Ahhh.

Look at this! The
latest issue of...

Mussel man and Oyster boy!

It's one where they are caught
in the underwater lair of...

the Evil Octopus.

And use their deflector
shields to escape and...

Save the world from...

Octo-domination!

[laughs]

It costs two clams.

We want it!

Oh,
but look Pop! Baseball cards.

Hey! Only one clam a pack.

We want those, too!

[gasps]

Wait a minute...

Mussel man is really cool,
Pop, but...

But we could get twice as
many baseball cards as comics.

This is a tough one.

The question is,
which will provide

more hours of pure enjoyment?

Hmm...

Hmm...

We can't decide!

-Hey guys.

We got the baseball cards

We wanted both.

do with your cheeses?

had a lot of trouble deciding...

big storm a while back,

the one where that
tree fell on the library?

Well, the same storm flooded
Billy and Bonnie's home, and

well... they lost a
lot of their things.

Whoaaa...

Sometimes, when someone's
going through a hard time,

really good people chip
in and help... like Jeremiah!

Jeremiah's giving the bunny
family things they really need.

Wow. That is really nice of him.

Yes. Jeremiah is very generous.

Whoa. Imagine if
that happened to us.

Yeah... kind of
makes me feel silly

for talking about
everything we want...

When all Billy and
Bonnie can think about

is stuff that they need.

Oh, hey... Everybody listen...

It's okay to want things.
Everybody wants things.

But, the important thing to
remember is the difference

between wanting something
and really needing it.

Well, a trip to the store
can be quite exciting.

Yeah. And they ended up making
a new friend. Billy, the bunny?

I heard what happened to their
house. That must be difficult.

Yeah... but they're doing fine.

And I think everybody
in the Big Blue House

found out a little
something about giving.

The feeling that you get
doing something for someone

else is one of the
best feelings of all.
