Hey there [chuckles]

it is so good to see you again.

I was hoping you
would come today.

Well, come on in.

Hey, Bear! Watch this!

Hey, Ojo!

Wow, you're certainly
getting good on that bike.

Yeah. I'm going to see how many
times

I can ride around the Big
Blue House without stopping.

See ya, Bear!

-Oh! See you Ojo.
-[bicycle bell ringing]

[chuckles]

That Ojo, she really
loves riding on her bike.

Well, come on in.

You know,
I was just on my way to -- huh?

Wait a second [sniffing]

What's that smell?

It smells like [sniffing]

fruit.

[sniffing]

Hm? [sniffing]

[gasps] It's you!

[sniffing] Oooo!

Tell me. Did you just have some
fresh fruit,

because you smell all fruity!

[chuckles]

[sniffing] Aaah!

Or maybe you just smell this
good all the time. Heh, heh.

Anyway, I was just on
my way to mouse school

for soccer practice.

I'm the coach.

Now,
I'm just looking for my whistle.

Oh! There it is.

[whistling]

I just love doing that.
[chuckles]

Hey would you like to come
with me to soccer practice?

Great! Let's go!

[whistling]

And we'll study more about
these plants and flowers

during our field trip tomorrow!

A field trip?

Cool!

[chuckles] Um...
Where are we going?

Well, it's a surprise but
it's going to be lots of fun.

Now I've handed out
permission slips for everyone.

Be sure to have your parent
or caregiver sign them

so that you can go on the trip!

No slip, no trip!

Got that everyone?

Got it, Miss Maxwell!

-[whistling]
-Ahh!

Ahhh! Sorry everybody.

It's just me, Bear.

[chuckles] Hey, Bear!

So is everyone ready
for soccer practice?

YAAAY!

That was a great
soccer practice, Bear.

It sure was, Tutter.

-Hi guys!
-Hey Bear! Hey Tutter!

Hey, everybody!

So I'm going back inside
to make some snacks.

Oooh!

Anyone hungry?

Yeah!

Can I have a grilled
cheese sandwich, please?

And we'll have...

A dozen
fried clams on the half shell.

Bananana for Treelo, please.

Honey cakes for me, please Bear.

Okay.

Cheese sandwich,
Clams, banananana,

um, banana...

and honey cakes. Got it.

I'll go inside
and make some snacks.

Thanks Bear!

So Tutter, whatcha got there?

-Huh?
-Oh!

Oh! Oh. [chuckles]

I forgot all about that!

It's a permission slip.

I'm supposed to get Bear
to sign it

so I can go on
a class field trip tomorrow.

[chuckles]

Oh, yeah!

Trip!

T-rip.

You're going on
a field trip at school?

[chuckles]

Cool!

You know, I'd love to go
on a trip on my bike.

Out into the world.

To an exciting new place!

Oh!

Where's your field trip to,
Tutter?

A museum or something?

A Fire Station?

[chuckles]

Well uhm,

I don't know actually.

Miss Maxwell
said it was a surprise.

Well. If it's a field trip,
it's probably to a field,

wouldn't you say, Pip?

Oh most definitely.

A field?

Yeah, you know.

A field. Big patch of land...

Grass on it.

Yeah.

[mumbling] When you say big,
like how big exactly?

You know. Big. A big old field.

Ha! I wonder where it is?

Mmm... In the middle of nowhere.

Yeah.
That's usually where fields are.

The [gulp] middle of nowhere?

That sounds sort of far away...

I'd love to take
a trip far away.

The farther the better!

Hey, are they giving you
lunch on the field, Tutter?

Yeah, and what if you
have to... you know...

go.

Yeah, where's the bathroom
on a big old field, anyway?

Miss Maxwell didn't say anything
about lunch or a bathroom!

[scared] I don't know...

Ha! I think it sounds great!

The wide open road...

the wind in your fur...

the whole world to explore!

[laughing nervously] So, um,
how wide are we talkin' here?

[laughter]

Hey, you know what?

I'm gonna take a trip myself.

On my bike.

If guys will excuse me,
I've got to plot my course!

You must be excited, Tutter.

Going so far away and all...

out in the middle of nowhere...

Yeah... the

middle of nowhere.

[scared] Right.

Well if you'll... excuse me.

I've got some hiding...
I mean thinking...

to do.

Excuse me again.

I'm certainly glad we got
that all straightened out.

Me too.

[sigh]

Hey! Let's go play monkey
in the middle.

Excellent idea.

[chuckles]

Hey,
who's going to be the monkey?

Okay so it's
a left at The General Store,

past Jeremiah's place
and through the meadow.

-Hey Ojo.
-Oh!

I brought you your honey cakes.

Oh yummy, hey, Bear.

Thanks.

I'll take them
with me on my trip.

Ooh. A trip. Sounds exciting.

So, where are off to this time?

Maybe to Ojo Island
for some sand and surf?

-No.
-Or maybe to a pirates' cove?

-Arg-arg.
-Nuh.

Or maybe the second
star from the right?

Oh no, no no, Bear.

This isn't a pretend trip.

It's real.

-Real?
-Uh huh.

See, look.

Um, I'm going to ride my bike

all
the way past Doc Hogg's orchard,

through the meadow

and up that big hill
with the pine trees.

I always wanted to go there.

Wow. Um,

that's quite the journey you've
have planned for yourself, Ojo.

Yep.

And I'm going to do
it all by myself.

-Ohh ... I see, um.
-Yeah.

Um...

-the thing is, Ojo, um...
-What?

that is an awful lot of food
to carry on your bike...

Oh... Yeah. Um...

That's sorta true, Bear.

Yeah. And you're gonna get
hungry aren't you?

Oh, yeah-yeah. All explorers do.

Exploring is hungry work!

Yes, I've heard.

And...

you do have a guide, don't you?

A guide?

Um...

What's that? What, um?

Oh a guide is... someone
who knows the area,

that can show you around.

Oh! Um...

Explorers need those?

Oh, yeah guides are
standard explorer stuff.

Oh, I see.

Otherwise explorers be
getting lost all the time.

Oh, oh oh...

Lost? Oh,
I don't want that to happen.

Um, oh boy.

But where am I going to find
someone to carry my lunch

and be my guide.

-Think, think, think.
-Ahem.

-[whistling]
-Oh ...

-[chuckles] hey Bear...
-Hm-mm?

you wouldn't happen to

know your way
around way out here

would you?

You know, I do know
my way around here, Ojo.

And um...

you don't think that
you would mind to um...

carrying
an explorers lunch do you?

[laughter]

-I would not mind at all.
-Oh good.

In fact why don't you put on
your bicycle helmet

and I will pack a picnic basket.

I know the perfect
place to find a snack.

-[chuckles]
-Okay! Thanks, Bear!

There! A nice picnic lunch.

Of fried clams, honey cakes,

a grilled cheese sandwich
and a banana.

This is shaping up nicely:

a nice little
ride and a nice little trip.

Oh!

-Hey, Tutter.
-Hi, Bear.

Um, Ojo and I are
talking a little trip

and having a picnic lunch.

Would you like to join us?

Me?

A trip?

Uh uh. No, thank you, Bear.

I don't think so.

No way.

It's not like I have any
school trips, or field trips,

or anything like that
if that's what you're thinking!

Okay, Tutter, if you're sure.

Oh, I'm sure, Bear! I'm sure!

-Uhm.
-Um...

Tutter,
what's that in your hand?

This? Oh,
it's just a permission sli--.

Nothing!

Excuse me!

Oh!

Okay, Tutter, see you later.

Well, um...

Okay, then.

-Hey, Oj--
-Ha ha!

Ready Bear! I'm ready.

I guess I'm ready too.

-Let's go.
-Yeah, let's go.

Come on!

[sniffing]

Ah yes, there's nothing like
getting out into the open air,

and hittin' the road.

-Isn't this fun, Ojo?
-[laughter]

Yeah! And someday,

I'll be able to go on trips
like this all by myself,

-right, Bear?
-Uh. Sure, Ojo...

someday.

Now I think we make a right
at that raspberry bush up ahead

and then
we're nearly at the hill.

Okay, Bear.

Oh uh, wait up, Ojo.

Slow down a bit.

Bear?

I thought he said to turn at
the raspberry patch but...

maybe I was wrong.

Oh no.

Oh Bear?

[scared] BEAR! WHERE ARE YOU?

Ojo! [panting]

Ojo, it's okay, I'm right here.

Oh Bear!

I, I didn't know where you were,

and I didn't know where I was...

and, and, and I was all alone!

It's okay Ojo, I'm right here.

I-I-I'm really glad
you were here, Bear.

Me too.

You just a little ahead of me,
that's all.

So next time, maybe you should
stay a little closer to me.

After all we're in no hurry.

The fun part is getting there.

Oh...

Okay, Bear.

Hey, Ojo, look.

You're almost
and the top of the hill.

So, are you up for it?

Well, okay.

But I'm gonna stay close so
I can see you, okay Bear?

-That is a very good idea, Ojo.
-[chuckles]

[bicycle bell ringing]

Wow, that was great, Bear.

-We went really far, didn't we?
-[panting]

[panting] Yes.

I'm glad you were with me Bear.

Hey,
look, there's Tutter's school.

Oh, yeah. And look.

There's Tutter's teacher,
Miss Maxwell.

Hey Miss Maxwell.

Oh hello, Bear. Hello, Ojo.

[chuckles]

Guess what, Miss Maxwell!

We went on a trip together

all the way up the hill
past Doc Hogg's orchard.

-Yep.
-[chuckles]

All the way up.

Oh my. That sounds
like a wonderful trip.

And Bear, I'll bet
Tutter is excited

about our field trip tomorrow,
as well.

Uh hum, huh?

Field trip?

Well, yes.

Didn't he give you
his permission slip to sign?

Well. No, he didn't.

But, he has been acting
a little strangely.

Oh yeah, he -- he was talking
about the field trip earlier.

Um, he seemed kind of worried.

Hmm, worried?

I think we'd better get home

and figure out
what's going on with him.

Oh well.

Why don't I come with you, Bear?

Maybe I can help
clear this whole thing up.

Good idea, Miss Maxwell.

Come on.

Tutter?

Tutter?

Oh Tutter, there you are.

Oh. Hi Bear, Ojo.

Miss Maxwell, hi!

I'm glad you're here too,

because [coughing]

I don't feel so good.

[coughing]

I don't think I can
go to school tomorrow.

Oh me...

That's uh,
quite a cough you have, Tutter.

Yeah. It's pretty
[coughing] bad [coughing]

So, about tomorrow?

I guess I'll just have
to stay home, I guess.

Too bad huh?

Uh...

Tutter?

This wouldn't have anything
to do with the field trip

tomorrow, would it?

Hm. Trip?

What trip?

Oh the field trip.

oh! I forgot all about that.

[coughing]

Yeah.

I guess I'll have to miss that,
too!

Oh, what a shame.

I know. I was really
looking forward to it, too.

[coughing]

Oh well.

Um, Tutter,

Miss Maxwell told me that

you got a permission slip and
you didn't show it to me.

Maybe we should talk about --

Okay, okay!

I admit it! I'm not really sick.

Well, Tutter why don't
you just tell me

what's bothering you.

I'm sorry for fibbing, Bear.

It's just... I don't want
to go on the field trip.

I don't want to go
to a big old field

out in the middle of nowhere.

Anything could happen
to a little mouse out there!

Oh Tutter

just because it's
called a "field trip"

doesn't mean you're
actually going to a field.

It could be anywhere.

To a museum, to a factory
or even a firehouse!

Well, that's true, Bear.

But it just so happens,

that we are going
to a field tomorrow.

We're taking a field
trip to a field.

See? Huh?

Oh. Uh

okay. Uh. Well, that can be
interesting too...

for a mouse.

It sure is!

It's going to be a lot fun,
Tutter.

It is?

Of course.

We're going to look at some
beautiful wild flowers,

learn how plants grow

and meet
some wonderful field mice.

Well... that -- that does
sound kinda fun, I guess.

But still... what about lunch?

I mean,
I might get hungry and...

I'll be packing sandwiches
and juice for the whole class.

Huh.

Okay. But let me ask you this:

Uh huh?

What if I have to, you know...

go?

[chuckles] If you have to use
the bathroom,

you just tell me and I'll
show you where to go.

I'll be there to watch
out for you

and take care of you
the whole time, Tutter.

-You will?
-Why, of course.

Yeah, Tutter. Just stay close to
Miss Maxwell and you'll be fine.

Um, Miss Maxwell's a grown up

and grown-ups watch out
for us kids.

Haha! Especially when we go on
trips to new places and stuff.

Right, Bear?

That's right, Ojo.

And Tutter, the next time
something worries you.

You can talk to me or
Miss Maxwell about it.

So that we can talk to you.

Okay?

Okay Bear.

And whenever you're afraid
of something

it always helps
to talk about what scares you.

Oh okay, Bear.

And now,
if you'll all excuse me...

Tutter, where are you going now?

I have to get my permission
slip for you to sign, Bear!

I've got a field trip to go on!

[laughter]

Okay.

I'm glad we're taking
another trip, Bear.

Together.

[laughter] Me, too Ojo.

[giggles]

That must be
Tutter's field trip.

A yellow one, look at that!

OJO: Look! There's Tutter.

Hey Tutter!

Oh, hey Ojo!

[chuckles]

and hold hands with your buddy.

Let's go!

Oh boy, oh boy.

[chuckles]

So, Ojo.

Are you ready to go up
yonder other hill over there?

Oh. To other yonder hill!

I'm right behind you Bear.

[chuckles]

[sniffing] Aaah!

Aren't these pretty?

These are the flowers that I
picked today on his field trip.

And look.

This is the picture
that Ojo drew

from the top of the hill today.

Wow!

So much has happened today.

You know...

I bet Luna will want
to hear all about it.

Come on!

Ah.

There she is.

Hello Luna.

Hello, Bear.

How are things
in the Big Blue House?

Well, Luna,

lately it seems that Ojo and
Tutter

are both taking trips
outside the Big Blue House.

-Really?
-Uh-hmm.

That sounds exciting.

Oh, it is.

Ojo is so eager to get
out on her bike,

and get out on her own...

That Ojo.

She's got a bit
of the adventurer in her.

She sure does.

But she found out that for now,

it's there are some trips
that you really need to take

with a grown-up who you
know and trust.

And Tutter found out the same
thing on his field trip...

To a field!

[chuckles]

Oh, I'm glad, Bear.

Going out into the world
is a wonderful thing.

It's part of growing up.

And it's always good to know

that someone is watching over
as you make your journey.

Hmmm.

Sort of like the way you
hang in the night sky

watching over things,
right Luna?

That's right.

Well, Bear.

I better get back up there.

I have lots of travelers

that need me
to shine my light on them.

Well Luna,
