It's nighttime here
at the big blue house.

Well, come on in.

Ojo's spending the night over
here at the big blue house and,

hmm?

[sniffing]

Wait a second.
What's that smell?

[sniffing]

Hmm. [sniffing]

[gasps] It's you?

[sniffing]

Ooh, tell me,

did you just take a bath
and put on your jammies?

'Cause you smell like
you're ready for bed.

[sniffing] Aaaah!

Or did you just wake up?

Hmm?

[chuckles]

I know, I know.

You must smell this
good all the time.

[chuckles]

Well, like I was saying,

Ojo's spending the night here

and I'm
getting her ready for bed.

Come on. Let's go up
and see how she's doing.

-There you go, Ojo.
-[chuckles]

All nice, fluffy and dry.

Thank you, Bear.

So how was my favorite
little bear cub's day today?

Ooh, it was great.

[gasps]

I had a really cool
picnic with Tutter.

Oh and, um...

well,
you'll never guess what we ate.

Well, let me think.

Um...
With Tutter, was it cheese?

[chuckles]

Yeah. Three kinds of cheese.

Ooh, and Treelo and I played
with his fur collection.

And I met a bug friend
of Pip and Pop's.

His name was Boris.

Oh and Boris too, huh?

Uh-huh.

And he was really nice, Bear.

I just remembered

[mumbling]

[spitting]

when Boris was leaving,

he crawled down between
a couple of rocks

and well, he didn't come out.

Do you think he'll be
all right down there?

Oh yeah. He'll be fine.

Bugs like crawling down
to places like that.

Kind of that nice cozy
feeling you get

when you're under the covers.

-Really?
-Mm-hmm.

[yawning]

Well, looks like somebody's
ready to surf into bed.

[yawning]

Oh, what? Um...

I don't think so, Bear.

I don't think so.

I think that I'm
not sleepy [yawning]

at all.

That's okay if you're
not sleepy right now,

but I bet if you go downstairs,

lie down and close
your eyes for a few minutes,

you'll be asleep in no time.

So ready to do
some dream surfing.

[chuckles]

Dream surfing?

You're funny, Bear. [laughter]

Okay, let's go.

Dream surfing, dreamer dude.

[humming a rhythm]

OJO: See you at the living room,
Bear.

Oh, I'll be right
down to tuck you in.

You know, I think Ojo is a lot
sleepier than she thinks.

Hey, sleep!

Sleep.

You know, some people think
that sleeping doesn't matter,

but the truth is,

sleep is very important

because sleep gives your body

and your
brain the rest it needs.

So you can be strong
and do things.

Why without sleep, you'd be
like a car

[car engine stops]

that runs out of gas.

And you know,

everyone
thinks sleeping is easy,

but the truth is, we all have
to learn how to get to sleep.

Oh yeah.

And sometimes it isn't
as easy as it looks.

But if you just surf off to bed

and let go of the day,

you know, stop worrying, stop
thinking,

before you know it,

you'll take a trip
to dreamland in no time.

[chuckles] Well, I love it when

-Um... [yawning]

I don't think I'm
anywhere near sleepy.

Mm-mm.

-Nope.
-Oh, well, that's okay.

But just in case,

why don't we go through
our bedtime checklist?

Oh! It's very important
to go through

everything you need to do
before you go to bed.

Oh, okay.

Well,
I'm ready for Bear's checklist.

[chuckles]

Great.

-Bath?
-Check.

I'm all squeaky clean.

-Teeth?
-Check.

I brushed them and this
little bear is minty fresh.

Ha! [chuckles]

Snow bear.

Oh, check. She's right here.

[kissing sound]

Well, looks like you're
all ready to go to sleep

and head on off to dreamland.

[yawning]

Okay.

Well, maybe I am a little
bit sleepy, Bear.

Oh, but, Bear.

Yes, Ojo?

Can I have your extra
special bear tuck in?

Oh, sure, Ojo.

It's always nice to get a
special tuck in from a grownup

just before you go to bed.

Okay, Ojo.

It's time for the tucking.

Tuck, tuck, tuck, tuck, tuck,
tuck, tuck, tuck, tuck, tuck.

[yawning]

But you know, Bear,

I still don't think that
I'm really so [yawning]

sleepy.

[snoring]

Shh.

Good night, Ojo.

[snoring]

Sweet dreams.

[chuckles]

[yawning]

Wow.

This bear's kind
of pooped himself.

I think I'll surf
off to dreamland.

And you know, that pillow of
mine is going to feel so good.

[knocking on door]

Did you hear that?

That sounded like
a knocking sound.

and it sounded like it was
coming from the back door.

DOC HOGG: Are you home, Bear?

Doc hog?

Hello, Bear.

Hello.

Doc, Jeremiah.

What are you doing here so late?

We're so late.
I'm sorry, Bear. I know.

But we'll just make ourselves
at home so we can get started.

Um... Get started?

[moaning]

Sir,
I've been wait all day for this.

Oh my, my, my Bear.

What is it, Jeremiah?

Well, the table, Bear.

It's kind of bare.

Get it? [chuckles]

There's nothing on it.
It's bare, Bear.

Yeah, I get it, Jeremiah.

-No chips.
-No dip.

If we're gonna play cards,
we need a few snacks, Bear.

You know, cards, snacks, cards.

Play cards? Here?

Tonight?

You know if I didn't
know better, Bear,

I'd think you forgot that
tonight was the night

for our regular game of Go Fish.

[chuckles] Forgot?
Hey, now that's a good one.

Well, that would be just plain,
plain...

Forgetful?

-Yeah.
-Yeah, it would.

[chuckles]

So what did he say, Bear?
Ready to play some card?

Erm... Well, sure.

-Yeah, let's play some cards.
-Great.

I guess that pillow of mine's
going to have to wait.

So, who's got the cards?

[chuckles]

Okay guys.

But you see, um...

the thing is,
we have to keep our voices down.

What?

We have to keep our voices down

because Ojo's asleep in
the living room

and Tutter's
asleep here in the kitchen.

Oh,
why, don't worry about us, Bear.

[clearing throat]

We'll be as quiet as mice.

Just like Tutter. [chuckles]

Are you going to rustle up some
grub, Bear and, well I'll...

um... erh....

Shuffle the cards?

Yeah, right.
I'll shuffle the cards.

All right,
just shuffle them up there.

Here you go, guys.

Oh yeah. Thanks, Bear.

Say, I'll say you
got any salmon, Bear?

No, sorry. Just the crackers.

[chuckles]

No, I meant the cards, Bear.

The cards, you know the Go Fish.

-You know, the cards?
-Oh, right. Sorry doc.

Okay, Jeremiah. Your turn.

Oh, um...

Oh, um, um....

Oh, no, no.

-[gasps]
-Hm?

Oh, hi, Doctor Hog.

Hi, Jeremiah.

[chuckles]

Bear, hi there.

What are you guys doing, huh?

Ooh,
playing a little Go Fish, huh?

-Yeah.
-Sounds like fun.

-Look at that.
-Sorry, Tutter.

We didn't mean to wake you.

Oh, no, no. Don't worry, Bear.

No, don't you worry at all.

[yawning]

Well, Tutter,

it is kind of late

and all little mice should be
getting their rest.

Is there something
I can do for you

before you go back to sleep?

Oh, oh do. Well, little old me.

[chuckles]

Let's see. I'm thirsty.

Yeah. That's it.

[chuckles] Oh,
Bear, would you mind terribly?

-Yeah.

-[chuckles]

[slurping]

So, Tutter, is there anything

I guess not, Bear.

maybe you should use the potty
before you go back to sleep.

Always works for me in Go Fish.

It has been all night.

[Shadow's laughter]

I'm sure you won't miss
anything here for quite a while.

[chuckles]

HOGG: Okay,
Jeremiah, you just go ahead.

That sounds like Shadow.

You know, if we look real hard
and sing our song together,

she might appear.

♪ Where could Shadow be... ♪

Hmm.

-Shadow?
-[chuckles]

Hey, big old bear.

I'm over here.

Oh, Shadow. There you are.

So good to see you.

So what have you been
up to this evening?

Ooh, I was just taking a snooze
with the shadow of a leaf.

Aw, that sounds so relaxing.

You know, Shadow,

it sounds like you and
your shadow friends

always have a lot of fun.

Yes, Bear.

And we always love
to take a good nap.

But Bear,

did you know that
shadows are very good

at helping you go to sleep?

-Really?
-Yes.

We especially love
to help the little ones.

♪ You can feel us drawing near ♪

♪ We close your eyelids ♪

Feel like I'm swimming upstream.

Well,
the game's going fine, Tutter.

Although I haven't had
a chance to play all that much.

Oh, well.
Okay Tutter, what is it?

Well, if you drink milk
and then laugh real hard,

why does it come out your nose?

Well, the milk and your nose...

Tutter, why don't we talk
about this in the morning.

But Bear, I really want to know.

Well, actually, Tutter.

I'm thinking that you really
don't want to go to bed

because of the Go Fish game.

No, that's not.

Well, I sure hate to miss
a good game of Go Fish.

Boy, this mouse really is tired.

swimming

in the bubbling brooks
and all kinds of other stuff.

I was just casting my glow

on all the contented
sleepers below.

Ooh, that's always nice.

So how was your evening
in the big blue house?

Well, Ojo's sleeping over

and we had a lot of fun
getting ready for bed.

Ojo is such a good sleeper.

Well, sleep is one
of my favorite things.

While you're asleep,

you can dream of all the great
things that happened that day.

Yeah.

Oh and then Tutter had a little
trouble getting to sleep

while Doc Hog,
Jeremiah, and I played cards.

Oh, that's a tough one.

But it turned out all right

because Tutter and I decided

to have
our own game of cards tomorrow.

Oh and Shadow told me

how shadows watch
over us at night

and
can even help us get to sleep.

Isn't that grand.

Some of my best nighttime
friends are shadows.

Mmh!

Well, Bear,
it's time for me to rise.
