It is so good to see you!

I've been waiting for you.

Well. Today I'm...

[sniffing] Wait a second.

What's that smell?

It smells like... [sniffing]

fresh flowers...

[sniffing]

Hmm?... [sniffing]

[gasps] It's you!

[sniffing] Ooo.

Tell me, did you just stop
to smell the flowers?

Because the tip of your nose
smells just like flowers!

[sniffing] Ahh.

Or maybe you just smell
this good all the time.

[chuckles]

Well, I have something to show
you and it's in the kitchen.

Come on!

I am doing something
very special today.

Now,
I bet you know what these are!

That's right! Cookies!

Well,
cookies that aren't cooked yet.

Oatmeal,
raisin and honey cookie dough!

Mm-hmm.

I'm making my annual batch for
everybody in Woodland Valley.

That's why I have so much dough!

Now, I'll just open the oven...

and pop them in...

And now it's time
to set the timer.

When the timer goes "ding!"

that means
the cookies will be done.

Mm-hmm.

Everybody loves my oatmeal
raisin and honey cookies.

Mmm-mm.

[whispering] Including me!

OJO: Hey, Bear! Bear!
TUTTER: Hey, Bear!

Hey.
That sounds like Ojo and Tutter!

Hmm?
I wonder what they're doing?

Do you want to go find out?
Come on!

We'll check on
the cookies later.

-TUTTER: Bear!
-OJO: Over here, Bear!

-OJO: Yeah! Over here!
-TUTTER: Over here, Bear!

-[giggles]
-Oh! Hey, Tutter!

-Hey, Ojo!
-Hey, Bear!

Oooh. Nice outfits.

I bet I know
what you two are playing...

[gasps]

That's right, Bear!
It's Detective Ojo....

And Tutter Le Mouse!

Big Blue House Detectives!

Ha-ha. Yeah, and, um,

we just finished solving
the mystery of what's behind

the books on Bear's bookshelf.

Yeah.

Nothing. Hmm.

[chuckles] Yes, I can see that.

Sorry to disappoint
you two detectives.

[chuckle] Aw. That's okay, Bear.

But the real problem is,

I think that we've solved

all the mysteries there
are to solve, Bear.

-Hm.
-Really?

Mm-hmm.

You think you've solved
all the mysteries

in the Big Blue House?

Yep. Yep.

And maybe... all the mysteries
in the world, Bear!

[gasps] The whole world!

[gasps] Oh...
It's a real problem.

-Oh, my goodness.
-[sigh] Oh yes.

That would be a problem. But...

I think I have an idea that
just might help you two out.

-[gasps] Yeah.
-I'll be right back.

-Heh.
-Heh.

OJO: I wonder what he's got.

TUTTER: I don't know.
I have no idea.

Oh, look. There he is.

Ta-da!

Ahh?

So... we're going to solve
the mystery of the dishtowels?

Uh, yeah.
We tried that one, Bear.

And, um, they just sort
of lay there

when you try
to ask them questions.

[chuckles] Well... actually,

I thought you two could
use something

to make your mysteries
a little more challenging.

-Oh.
-Come here. I'll show you.

-Challenging is good.
-Oh, yeah, sure.

-Okay. Now...
-What?

I'm just gonna put these on you.

-It might tickle.
-[laughing] It tickles!

Hey, what's the big idea?!

Hey, who turned out the lights?

Now, don't worry, you guys.

You two are ready to now
play the mystery game

of "What-is-it"!

"What-is-it"?

Yes. That's what you two
are going to figure out.

"What-is-it"!

-What is it?
-Exactly.

Uh. [stunned]

I'm going to give you something
and you have to tell me

what it
is without looking at it!

-You have to use your ears...
-Uh-huh.

...your noses... and your hands!

Ooooooohhh...

Hey! That's a good idea, Bear.

Okay. Get ready?

-Okay, ready!
-Okay.

Now... There's something
in front of you.

-Tell me, what is it?
-Uh-huh.

Um.

Well, it's really nice and soft,
that's for sure.

[sniffing] Wow.
Boy, that sure smells nice.

[sniffing]
-Mmm...

Yeah. And-and-and-and it,
um, it's really soft too.

[gasps] Hey, Tutter... are
you thinking what I'm thinking?

I'm thinking I am... [chuckles]

-Soft...
-Smells good..

It's a flower!

[gasps]

[cheering] It is a flower!
It is a flower! It's a flower!

[chuckling]
Good work detectives!

-Yeah. Thank you.
-Mm-hmm.

So, uh,
would you like to try one more?

-Oh yeah, yeah.
-Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.

Put your blindfolds back on...

[grunts] I'm ready.

Okay. Let 'er rip. Ha-ha-ha.

I think you
ought to like this one.

Oh yeah. Okay, now.

There is something
in front of you.

Tell me, what is it?

Oh. [chuckles]

Hm. Um, let me see what this one
feels like...

Oh... wait.

It feels sort of flat... and
kind of... squishy.

Er. B-B-But in a nice way.

Uh, yeah... you're right.

[sniffing] Wait a minute!

Wait a minute!..
I'd know that smell anywhere.

[sniffing] Oh yeah.
It smells peanuty and sweet!

Whoa...
It's my second favorite smell...

next to cheese that is...
[chuckles]

[cheering] Yeah!

-Peanut butter...
-And jelly!

Ye.

[chanting] Peanut
butter and jelly!

Peanut butter and jelly!

Whoo. Peanut butter and jelly!

[chuckles]

-Whoo. We were right!
-Ymm, ymm, ymm, ymm, ymm.

Oh boy, oh boy.

Wow! You two are
really good at this!

Oh yeah. Thanks, Bear.
That was great!

What a cool game.

-I love that game.
-Yeah.

Well, I'll leave you
two to your sandwiches.

-See you later.

-Oh. Good-bye, Bear.
-Bye, Bear. Thank you.

[laughing] We love "What-is-it"!

Wow, those two really enjoyed
playing, "What-is-it",

didn't they?

Hey, you know,
you can play "What-is-it", too.

Mm-hmm.

Just make sure to get
a grownup to play with you.

Oh. And remember,
it's best to play " What-is-it"

using your senses.

Yeah.

Senses!

Mm-hmm. Senses.

You have five senses!

Yeah. And they do come in handy.

For example,

you use your eyes --to
see things like a picture book!

And... oh!

You use your hands- And your
skin to touch things like...

-your pet frog!
-Sdoing sdoing

Croak.

Oh.

And then you use your tongue
to taste things like...

ice cream!

Mmm... [slurping] Mm.

And then there's the ears...

for listening to wonderful
things like your favorite song!

[music plays]

[chuckles] Then, of course,
there's my favorite -

the nose!

You use your nose to smell
wonderful things in the world.

Like you!

[sniffing]

[chuckles] Your senses!

And the best thing
about your senses is,

you should just let them
do their stuff.

[sniffing]

♪ Hear the birds in the trees ♪

♪ Feel that cool summer breeze ♪

♪ With the smell of flowers
Floating in the air ♪

♪ I've got a sense
It's a great day to be a bear! ♪

[sniffing] Aah!

Hey, listen!

♪ Buzzing bees in their hive ♪

♪ Make me glad to be alive ♪

♪ Oooh ♪

♪ I can almost
taste that ice cream ♪

♪ With honey swirled ♪

♪ Cause all my senses
Are makin' sense of my world ♪

[sniffing] Oooo!

[sniffing] Ahhh.

♪ Now wait a minute
What's that smell? ♪

♪ It's so inviting ♪

♪ And that familiar
little shape ♪

♪ Hey, I've seen that too! ♪

♪ So come on up
and touch my paw ♪

♪ Wow! This is so exciting ♪

♪ Cause my senses tell me that ♪

♪ What I smell and hear
and feel and see is you! ♪

Come on, sniff with me,
see with me, hear with me!

What a world!

♪ Breathe it out
Take it in ♪

♪ Pay no attention
To your silly grin ♪

♪ If all those sights and smells
and sounds have you in a whirl ♪

♪ Cause with your ears,
your eyes, your nose, ♪

♪ Your tongue,
the skin around your toes ♪

♪ Whether you're a girl, a boy,
a bear cub or a squirrel ♪

makin' sense of your world ♪

lovely sense of your world! ♪

Let's see how
those cookies are doing...

[sniffing]

-OJO/TUTTER: Bear! Hey, Bear!
-Hmm.

Hey. That sounds like Detective
Ojo and Tutter Le Mouse.

Hmm. I wonder what
they're up to now.

Do you want to go see? Come on!

But-But
why Tutter and Ojo no see?

Why you no see?
Treelo no get it.

Oh, Treelo,
that's just the way we do it!

Yeah. Sheesh.

You'd think you never seen
a blindfolded detective before.

-Yeah.
-I never really...

-Hey, everybody what's going on?
-Oh! Hello, Bear! Bear?

-Bear?
-Bear! Bear.

-Uh, over here, you two.
-Bear. Bear.

Oh. Aha! Of course, you are.

Oh. [giggles] Um,
Bear, it appears that

the blindfolded detectives have
a real mystery on their hands.

Not just a delicious peanut
butter and jelly sandwich.

Oh... Uh, a-a-actually, Ojo,

I think I still have a little
of that on my hands, too.

[chuckles] Oh.

Anyway... about this mystery...

See, Treelo lost his... uh...

[whispering] Bananana.

Oh yeah. Bananana.

[chuckles] I mean, hee-hee.
Banana....

-Yes.
-Um.

-You lost a banana in here?
-Mm-hmm.

-In my bedroom?
-Apparently so.

-Yeah. Yeah.
-Um

[chuckles] Uh,
Treelo, um... How long ago?

Oh… um, loooooong time ago,
Bear.

Ah, I see.

[sniffing] Yep.

I think I have been
smelling something up here.

-[sniffing]
-Exactly, Bear.

And we, Detective Ojo and...

-Tutter Le Mouse...
-Big Blue House Detectives!

Mean to find that banana!

Using only our remaining senses!

-Ha-ha!
-Ooh, ooh.

What is this? Ouch.

-Ojo? Tutter?
-Excuse me.

-Woo-hoo. Woo-hoo. Waa-haa.
-You're on my... Huh?

-Please be careful.
-Oh. Oh. Yeah, no problem.

Have no fear, Bear!

We're Big Blue House Detectives.

Mystery is our business.

-Aha!
-Uh, yeah!

A-Are you ready,
Tutter Le Mouse?

Let's sniffing, detective Ojo!

Okay, this way, Tutter!

[sniffing] Uh, I think
that we're getting warmer...

-Yeah, yeah.
-Sniff, sniff.

Woo.
I think it's right over here!

-Really?
-Oh. What?

-Where?
-[squishing sound]

-What was that?
-Oh, um, I think I found it.

Huh?
-My Bananana?!

-Look.
-[sniffing]

Oh! We found it!

Yay! [cheering] We found it!
We found it! We found it!

Yes. The mystery of the... ew...

yuck... rotten... [sniffing]
Ew... stinky...

squishy looking old banana
has finally been solved!

-Yes. Wow.
-Yes. All over my foot.

-Oh.
-Yuck.

Yeck. Yee.

[chuckles] Oh,
oh. Here you go, good Sir!

Um, I believe that this is
what you were looking for.

Yes, indeed.

Uh... gee, uh... Thanks.

[chuckles] My...[sniffing]
ew... bananana.

Mm-mm. No problem.

-Bear?
-Don't worry, Treelo.

I'll take this.

I think I know
just the place to put it.

[sigh] Okay. Thanks, Bear.

And don't worry,
I have another banana for you.

Yeah. Bear get another
bananana. Thanks, Bear.

-[chuckles]
-Come on.

-I'll see you guys later.
-Okay. See you later, Bear!

-Bye, Bear.
-Bye!

Wow. That was so much fun.

Yeah. You're good detectives.

[giggles]

I thought I heard Shadow
somewhere out here...

You know, if we look real
hard and sing a song together,

she might appear. Sing with me!

♪ O! Where-o where-o
where is Shadow? ♪

♪ Where-o where-o
where is Shadow? ♪

♪ Where-o where-o
where is Shadow? ♪

♪ Where can Shadow be... ♪

[shouting] Shadow!

[laughter] Hey, my furry friend!

-I'm right here.
-Oh!

[chuckles] Hello, Shadow!
How are you today?

Oh, fine, Bear, fine.

Well, Shadow, I was wondering-

-if I had a story
to tell you today?

Why yes. How did you know?

Well... we shadows have a
sixth sense

about these things

and I've got a
great story for you today.

Just watch.

[magic fairy dust sound]

[humming]

Hi! -Well, hello there. I
mean, uh...

[in feminine voice] Hello,
Little Red Riding Hood.

My... What a big nose you have.

The better to... I mean,

[in feminine voice] the better
to smell you with, my dear.

[sniffing] Whoa.
You been eating garlic?

My...
What big eyes and ears you have.

Well... the better to see
and hear you with, my dear.

My... What big hands you have.

The better to touch you with,
my dear.

Heh, heh, heh.

My... What big teeth you have.

Whoa.
I've been waiting for this one.

[in feminine voice]
The better to...

-[gasps] Hold it right there.
-What?

Stick out your tongue.

Ahh!

Mmm. Everything looks okay.

All right, Dr. Granny.
The patient is ready.

Thank you, Red.
You're a very big help.

Well, Mr. Wolf, it looks like
you're going to be just fine.

Oh. Thanks, Doc. What a relief.

Uh, I guess I gotta cut out
the girl scout...

uh, cookies, that is.

[magic fairy dust sound]

Wow! What a great story!

-"Little Red Riding Hood!"
-Yes.

It's one of my favorites, too.

Well, I'm off.

But when you need another story-

[chuckles]

Well, I think we should go into
the kitchen and check on those -

TIMER: Ding!

Cookies! They're done! Come on!

[sniffing] Ahhh.

Don't they look great?

Everybody is going
to be so happy

to try one of my cookies...

mmm-mm....

Mmmm. I just love those honey
oatmeal raisin cookies of Bears.

They smell sooooo good.

Yeah,
and they taste pretty good too!

[chuckles]

Mmm. Treelo want some. Mm. Mmm.

Yeah. Me too,
Treelo, but they're not for us.

They're for everybody
else in the valley.

Well, maybe... and maybe not.

I have an idea... Hey, come on!

Oh. Okay.

Just perfect!

-OJO: Bear?
-Huh? What's going on?

-Bear?
-Bear?

-Bear?
-Bear?

-Bear?
-Hey, uh everybody...

-Oh. Bear?
-I-I'm right here.

-Ojo? Tutter? Treelo?
-Bear! Bear!

-I-I'm right here.
-Bear! Bear.

Oh. I found him! I found him!

Ah, what is this all about?

Oh. Well, Bear,
for our next feat of detecting,

we will solve a mystery
without any of our senses,

except our sense of taste!

-Ahhh!
-Ahh!

Ahh!

[shouting] Anybody
taste anything yet?

What?

[shouting] If only somebody
would put something

In our mouths...

-What?
-Ah, everybody,

I don't think this is
such a good idea.

Huh?

[shouting] I said... [normal
voice] um, Tutter? Tutter?

-Huh?
-Over here. Over here, please

-and let me take this off.
-Oh. Okay.

Ojo, could you come­
--over here, please, too.

-Thank­
-But, but, oh...

Tree-Tre elo, easy there.

Let me just take these off,
my little detectives.

[chuckles] Ah.

-[giggles] There you go.
-Hey… me can't see.

-Open your eyes, Treelo.
-Open your eyes.

[laughter]

Now, guys.

If you just wanted some cookies,
all you had to do was ask.

Ohhh...

Besides, I was planning
on giving you some anyway!

[gasps] Yaaaaaay!

I just have to call Pip and...

-Hey, everybody!
-Pop.

How do they do that?

-Hi, Pip and Pop!
-Hi, Pip! Hi, Pop!

So, what's up guys?

You just have to come outside!

You just have to!

Well, actually, we were
just about to have some...

[gasps] Cookies!

Alright!

Hey, bring these outside, too!

There's something
we just have to show you.

Come on!

-But...
-Oh, okay.

-Oh.
-All right then.

-Well, um... okay.
-TREELO: I guess...

I guess we're
having our cookies outside.

Come on.

-So, guys! What's...
-Shh.

-[whispering] ...up?
-Be very quiet and listen.

Yeah.

-Croak! Croak!
-See... can you hear that?

Mm... I don't hear anything
but frogs and birds and wind!

Yeah... Isn't it beautiful?

-Ah! Ah.
-Hey, yeah.

Oh! Now just take a big sniff.

-Oh!
-[sniffing]

Ahhh.

Trees and grass
and [sniffing] flowers?

Yeah. Now you got it!

-It's so wonderful...
-The smell of the grass...

-The feel of wind on fur...
-The crisp blue of the sky...

The gentle sound of
the lap-lap-lapping...

Lap, lap. Lap-lap-lap.

...of the pond
meeting the shore...

-The taste of a fresh clam..
-Oooh.

-That's a good one.
-Oh, why, thank you.

-Well, you're welcome.
-Oh... my pleasure.

-That's very nice.
-Now, I get it!

Pip and Pop are using
their senses to enjoy

-this beautiful day!
-ALL: Ahhh..

That's another great
thing about the senses.

You can just enjoy them!

-You said it, Bear!
-Mm-hmm.

Yeah, it is kind of nice...

Hey... if
you get to go out later,

why don't you use your senses,

and notice everything you see,
smell, and hear!

-Mm-hmm. Yeah.
-Well, you know.

There is one more sense
we haven't used yet...

-Uh-oh.
-Really?

-Cookies anyone?
-[gasps] Yay!

-Ooo.
-Yay.

Oh! Oh!

Hoo-haa, here I come...

Mmm.

Looks like my cookies
were a big hit.

[licking] Especially with me.

[chuckles]

Well,
we have had quite a day, huh?

Mm.

Hey.

Let's go up and tell
Luna all about it.

Come on.

[click]

Ahh! There she is!

-Hey, Luna!
-Hello, Bear!

How was your day
in the Big Blue House?

Sense-sational! [chuckles]

We spent
the day experiencing our senses.

Oh that's wonderful!

And what did you do?

Well, Tutter and Ojo played
my old favorite game...

"What-is-it!" [chuckles]

That's right!

And later, they solved-

the "Mystery of the Brown
and Rotten, Squishy Banana!"

[chuckles] I think Tutter
and Ojo

have a good nose for mysteries.

-And Pip and Pop?
-Oh.

Those guys are great!

They spent all day sitting
outside, just...

well...

-enjoying their senses.
-Mmm.

-Oh. What a life!
-Mm-hmm.

[chuckles] But I must
tell you Bear,

I spend many evenings
doing just that.

It's so wonderful up
here being the moon!

Yeah.

Your senses are one
of the greatest things

about being alive!

Speaking of great things, Luna,

how would you feel about joining
me in a "Goodbye Song?"

Oh. That, too,
would be sense-sational, Bear!
