cinnamon toast?

Because you smell like cinnamon.

[deep breath]

Or maybe you smell
this good all the time.

[chuckles]

Anyway, we're expecting
two very special visitors

to the Big Blue House.

-They're...
-Are they here yet?

-Are they? Are they here?
-Are they, Bear?

Pip, Pop.
No, they're not here yet.

I was just about
to tell everyone that...

Oh, hi there!

[sniffs]

Cinnamon.

Well, Pip, tell them!

Right. Our grandma
and grandpa are coming to visit.

Yeah, we call them Grandma
Etta and Grandpa Otto!

That's their names.

Yeah... Except, don't forget,

Grandma Etta's middle name
is Angelica...

-Yeah.
-Just like mine!

And Grandpa Otto
always brings us...

Clams!

And Grandma Etta's really,
really, really nice!

-Isn't she, Bear?
-She sure is.

We love Grandma
Etta and Grandpa Otto!

So, when will they
get here, Bear?

We've been waiting
our entire life!

Guys, guys, guys.

-Yeah!
-Guys, they will be here any...

[doorbell rings]

...minute now.

Open the door!
Open it! Open it! Open it!

It's hard to wait for somebody

when you're so excited
to see them.

-Yeah, yeah! Open it!
-Okay, okay, okay.

[cheering]

Hello, and welcome
to the Big Blue... House?

I don't see anybody here.

OTTO: We're down here, Bear!
Down here!

-[grunts]
-[chuckles]

Yep, we finally made it.

-Grandma! Grandpa!
-[Grandma laughs]

Well, I'll be a fish's uncle...

Is that... Could it be?

Yeah, yeah, yeah?

Three bears? I thought
only one bear lived here.

No! We're not bears!
That's Bear!

Well, right you are.
Hello, Bear!

Hi, Grandpa Otto.
Hello, Grandma Etta.

Oh. It's nice to see you, Bear.

Well, wait just an
clam diggin' second...

If you're Bear, then who
are these two big fellas...

Why, you couldn't be
our little Pip and Pop?

It's us! It's us, Grandpa Otto!

Well, I'll be
a pelican's pajamas!

Look at you two!

Why you're just about
a foot taller

since the last time I saw you...

Yep... Don't you think so,
Grandma?

Oh, yes. They sure are.

And grandma Etta needs

a big Pippy-Poppy hug before
they get another foot taller!

Oh, grandma!

Oh, grandpa!

[all laughing]

We love grandparents!

We love Pip and Pop!

[all laughing]

Of course, we brought
you something special.

-Now, where did I put those...
-Oh, they're right there.

Here they are.

[all laughing]

Clams!

See, Bear... We told you Grandpa
Otto always gives us clams!

And here's one for you,
too, Bear.

Why, we wouldn't want you
to feel left out, now, would we?

Oh, well...
gee, thanks, Grandpa Otto.

Wow, my very own... clam.

[all laughing]

Come on, Pop.
We gotta go find everyone.

Bear, can you look after
Grandma Etta and Grandpa Otto?

Well, sure guys,
I think I can handle it.

[giggles]

[chuckles]

Well, Etta, Otto... come in
and make yourselves at home.

to the Big Blue House.

[laughs]

Those two otters...
What a pair...

And growing up so fast.

Yup!

Well, Pip and Pop

have really been looking
forward to seeing you two.

-[laughs]
-[sighs]

Grandparents!

Well, that's a nifty trick,
Bear.

Nifty keen.

Thanks, Etta, thanks, Otto.

Grandparents are great

because they're the parents
of your mom and dad.

Hard to believe, isn't it? Your
parents were once little, too!

[laughs]

Yeah... And grandparents
are also great,

because they've been around
for a really long time...

Oh, yeah.

So they know
a lot of good stuff!

Like... They can tell
the best bedtime stories...

Yup.

And they love to take
you to places for a visit.

[shouts indistinctly]

And they love to sit with you
and ask all about your day...

And you know, if you don't
have a grandma or grandpa,

well, you might have
a family friend

who's just like a grandparent!

That's true...

But the main thing
about grandparents is...

they love you just
as much as you love them.

on the telephone ♪

and pinch your little cheek ♪

playing hide and seek ♪

are the greatest.

about your grandparents?

I like to visit
my grandpa and grandma,

because every time I hug my
grandpa, he always tickles me.

We go to India
to visit my grandparents.

Two grandpas, one grandma.

We like to play with them.

Or go to the beach
with them in the summer.

I like to take
walks with Grandpa.

I give her a hug.

I tell her that I love her, too.

I'd like to live with
my grandma and grandpa,

because they spoil me rotten and
I get a lot of stuff from them.

Wow. You sure do
love your grandparents.

And they love you too.

-PIP: Grandma!
-POP: Grandpa!

PIP and POP: Come meet
Ojo and Treelo!

Yup, we're coming!

Come on, Etta... We don't want
to keep the young un's waitin'.

I'm right behind ya,
you old otter!

Oh, are you coming
with us, ya big Bear?

Of course.

Now, let's see,
can we get there from here?

[chuckles]

Do you want to come too?
Come on.

Grandma, Grandpa...
This is Ojo...

It's nice to meet you,

Mr. Grandpa Otto
and Mrs. Grandma Etta.

[laughs]

-[telephone rings]
-[laughs]

That's the telephone.
I better answer it. Excuse me.

Okay, Bear.

Now where's that little lemur
I've heard so much about.

He was right here...

There he is...

It's okay, Treelo.
They're really nice.

They nice?

Well hello there, Treelo...

Hello.

Such a cutie...

[laughs]

Yes, Doc, okay.
Yes. I'll be right over.

Yeah, Doc.
Yes, I'm sure that's true. Bye.

That was doc Hogg.

He needs my help
getting old Jeremiah Tortoise

into his office...

Jeremiah has a touch
of rheumatism...

Yep... There's nothing slower

than a tortoise with
a touch of the rheumatism...

That's really nice of you
to help him out there, Bear.

don't mind staying here,

[Ojo whispers]: Here they come.

[babbling]

Oh, what nice, sunny day.

-Hi, kids.
-What do you kids like to do?

-I don't know... Bear usually...
-You know... Plays with us...

Yeah, yeah. We play pretend...

And games...
Like balloon bounce...

But that's kind of, you know...
hard... Like a sport...

[laughs]

I see..

Sometimes, Bear makes a snack.

Do you think that
Bear will be back soon?

Yeah, yeah. Will he?
Maybe we should go find him.

[indistinct chatter]

I think he'll be
back real quick...

But, in the meantime... Well,
kids, I don't know about you,

but Treelo's snack
idea sounds good to me!

Well...

Okay... A snack sounds good.

Great, then a snack it is...
To the kitchen.

Now, let's see... That would
be... due east from here...

Well, you can get there
from here, grandpa Otto.

Come on, we'll show you.

[indistinct chatter]

-Grandma Etta...
-Yes.

-You making pancakes?
-Well... I...

Triple berry?

Yeah, you see, Bear usually
makes triple berry pancakes!

And I'm sure they're
quite wonderful!

Oh... They are...

But grandma Etta and I

thought you just might like
to try something

a little different...

-Different?
-Yup.

Yes.

Smushed pancakes.

Oh, yeah...

[laughs]

No, no, no. Not pancakes!
These are called crepes!

Oh! Crepes.

Grandma Etta... What are crepes?

Well, crepes are kind
of like pancakes but thinner...

And you can put all kinds
of stuff inside of them.

What kind of stuff?

Well, like these here clams.

One of my personal
favorite fillings.

[chewing]

Hey, how about... Honey!

Oh, that would be a great idea.
Now you're talking.

Bananas?

Why, sure. Anything you want...
Except the kitchen sink.

[all laughing]

Grandpa Otto, you are so funny.

Okay. Come on, kids.
We've got some crepes to make!

[cheering]

[indistinct chatter]

[laughs]

You know, I'll bet that Bear
would really have liked these...

Yeah, he sure would.

Well, looks like there's
one crepe left...

Hey, let's save it for Bear.

Oh, yeah! I bet Bear
never had a crepe before!

Yeah! We can surprise him.

Then he won't have
missed anything!

-Now you're thinking!
-Yeah!

Crepe surprise for bear.

Yeah!

Gee, grandpa Otto,

we didn't know you and grandma
Etta could do such cool stuff.

Well now, I haven't even begun
to show you the "cool" stuff

we can do...

Come on to the living room
and I'll show you a magic trick.

-Alright!
-Yay!

[laughs]

Hey, come on, Ojo.

Well, I think that
I'll just stay here

and help grandma Etta...

Thanks, Pip.

Okay, Ojo... Wait for me!

Grandma Etta...

Yes, Ojo?

Well... I was thinking...

You and grandpa Otto sure
have a lot of fun, don't you?

Oh, we sure do, for the most
part. From the first day we met.

You mean you haven't
known him forever?

Oh. No, I met grandpa
Otto when I was a young otter.

You were young?

[laughs]

Well, I know it's hard
to believe, but, yes,

we were both young once...

-How did you meet grandpa Otto?
-Well... Now let me see...

ETTA: I was sitting under
my favorite apple tree one day,

playing my fiddle...

I was a darn good
fiddler in my day.

When along came
this young otter.

OJO: Was it grandpa Otto?

ETTA: It sure was...

Anyway, he started to dance
to the music.

A fast jig it was...

And boy-oh-boy,
could he ever dance...

OJO: And did you dance with him?

ETTA: Well, not right away,
but he was a very good dancer

and pretty soon I knew

that grandpa Otto was
the otter for me!

And we've been dancing
the otter jig ever since.

-[upbeat music]
-[Bear sighs]

That Jeremiah tortoise
sure is heavy.

Well, I wonder
where everybody is.

TUTTER: That's so cool!

PIP: How'd you do that,
grandpa Otto!

POP: Yeah, do it again!

Aha! I think we've found them.

[indistinctly chatting]

Cool trick, grandpa Otto!

Do it again! Do it again!

-Hey, guys!
-Hi, Bear!

Hey, Bear.

Bear, grandpa Otto
is a master magician.

Yeah, yeah. Show Bear the trick,
grandpa Otto.

Well, okay. You see, Bear,

all it takes a slight tum
of the hand...

And you come up with a clam!

Yeah!

Nice trick, Otto.

Grandma Etta & grandpa
Otto are so much fun!

Yeah, they made us creeps.
I mean, crepes!

Yeah, we save one for Bear.
Save one for bear.

Oh! You saved one for me?
Thank you!

Oh, Bear! Bear! Guess what?

Grandma Etta was just telling me

about how she and grandpa
Otto first met!

Oh! That sounds interesting.

Yeah! Yeah! Grandpa Otto and she
used to dance! Can you imagine?

Oh, yeah.

Well, from what I know
about Etta and Otto,

they can still
dance the otter jig.

-Really?
-Why, of course we do!

Oh, please, please. Can we
learn it? Can we learn it?

Yeah, we want to learn
the otter jig!

Etta, you brought your fiddle,
didn't you?

Do I ever go
anywhere without it?

Let's jig!

Hey! What are these long faces?

-Nothing.
-Nothing at all.

-Nothing, huh?
-No...

-Well, I guess we best be going.
-Yep.

We don't want you to go!

-You could stay here!
-Yeah, we got lots of room,

right Bear?

-Right, Bear?
-Well, sure, guys...

They're welcome to stay
at the Big Blue House

any time they want.

-See?
-But, you see,

after all that jigging,

they just might want
to spend the night

in their own beds tonight.

Yup. Now,
don't you worry, Pip and Pop...

We'll see each other
again real soon.

Yes. In fact, we want you
to come visit us at our house.

-Really?

-Can we come now?

Whenever you want.
Our door is always open...

in the Big Blue House?

Well, Luna, Pip and Pop's
grandparents visited today!

Etta and Otto?
Oh, how are they doing?

Just great.
Grandparents can be so much fun!

That's for sure.

Etta and Otto made
these special pancakes

for everyone called "crepes!"

[muffled]

-And did everyone like them?
-They sure did.

They even saved one for me.

Well grandparents sure
know a thing or two, don't they?

Well, Bear, when you've been
around a long time,

you learn so many things.

True, Luna, true...
