NARRATOR: This is
my boss, Jonathan Hart,

a self-made millionaire.

He's quite a guy.

This is Mrs. H. She's gorgeous.

She's one lady who knows
how to take care of herself.

By the way, my name is Max.

I take care of both of them,

which ain't easy,

'cause when they
met, it was m*rder.

[♪♪]

[♪♪]

You tired?

No, I like riding behind you.

[CHUCKLES] I hope
that's a compliment.

You can be sure of it.

Boy, I could sure go

for one of Max's huevos
rancheros right now.

Oh, I know what you mean.

Even the vegetation is
beginning to look edible.

I'll tell you what.

I'll race you. The loser treats.

I'll even give you a handicap.

Oh, yeah? Yeah.

One day on a bike and
you're already Evel Knievel.

Okay, I'll tell you what.

Give me a count of 30.

You got it. Now.

[JENNIFER LAUGHING]

Morning, Mr. and Mrs. H.
Who won? Morning, Max.

Oh, I did. She did.

You really know how to give
a guy a run for his money.

Well, it's just that I like
being chased by you. [SIGHS]

Yeah? Mm.

Mm.

Mm.

Ooh.

You know, I hope you
two worked up an appetite

because I got a real
healthy breakfast for you.

Ooh, starved. That looks great.

I've been feeling
hunger pains. Mm.

[TELEPHONE RINGS]

I got it.

Here.

Hart residence.

What?

Just a minute,
I'll check it out.

Mrs. H., did you order

some dried-tree ear fungus?

Oh, yes. And... tiger lily buds?

I certainly did. I'm
glad they're here at last.

Yeah, we're the guilty party.

Thanks.

Dried ear fungus?

Mm-hm. Tiger lily buds?

Uh-huh.

All right. Laugh, you two.

But wait till you
taste mu shi yu.

You're right, uh, darling.
It's no laughing matter.

Do you want me to pick
up the fungus and lily buds?

No, that's all right, Max. I
have to go shopping anyway.

Darling, you want
to come with me?

You go ahead without
me. I can wait for my...

dried-fungus ear
fingers till later.

[CHUCKLES]

[♪♪]

Funny.

[♪♪]

Mr. Camp...

I'll give you three
guesses who's here

and the first two would
be better than the third.

Not Marty?

Bingo.

Want me to send him in?

If you have to.

[SIGHS]

[KNOCK AT DOOR]

Eee-yo.

[LAUGHS]

Hey, Ronald. How
you doing, babes?

Did you hear about the
guy that was so stupid,

he spent three weeks
in a revolving door

just trying to find
the doorknob.

[TWO SNAPS, CLAP] [LAUGHS]

What is it, Marty?

"What is it, Marty?
What is it, Marty?"

You're looking
very good, Ronald.

Who's your mortician?

[TWO SNAPS, CLAP] Hoo-hoo-hoo.

You know, Marty,
you've only got two faults:

everything you do
and everything you say.

That's good. That's very good.

But I bet you never
heard the one about...

Okay, Marty. What do you want?

Another loan?

Look, I was in a little
game the other night.

I owe a couple of guys.

Not that I can't
handle it, but, uh...

But you don't want to see
your kneecaps adjusted.

Does Louanne know about this?

Ronald... there
are certain things

you just don't...
bother the wife with.

You know what I mean?

I like her, Marty.

And I'm tired of seeing
her hurt with your games.

Nobody's getting hurt.

I just need a couple of
bucks. Nothing major.

Well, if you want
money from me...

this time you're
gonna have to earn it.

You mean... [DEEP
VOICE] earn it.

Like the guy on the tube?

[LAUGHS]

All right, all right.

So what do you... What
do you want me to do?

You'll arrange to
have an accident.

An accident?

Hey. Wait a minute.

I got a very low threshold
in the pain department.

Nothing like that.

Go out in your car and
get yourself hit in the rear.

You'll have a nice PI case.

That's... personal
injury, Marty.

A little fender-bender
can net you...

10,000 easy.

Where do I go?

[♪♪]

Beverly Hills during
the shopping hours.

Stake out a class type
who's doing a lot of shopping.

Watch what she throws
her packages into.

Make sure it's something nice.

Go for the gold.

A Rolls will do just fine.

[♪♪]

[♪♪]

[JENNIFER STARTS ENGINE]

[MARTY STARTS ENGINE]

[♪♪]

[TIRES SQUEAL]

[TIRES SQUEAL]

[TIRES SQUEAL, BRAKES SCREECH]

[PASSING CAR HONKS]

[♪♪]

Are you all right?

Somebody call an
ambulance! Get the police.

Can you hear me?

[INDISTINCT POLICE
RADIO TRANSMISSION]

What... happened?

There was an
accident. You were hit.

Ow.

It really hurts bad.

Oh. Oh, my back.

Well, don't move.

Ooh. [MOANS]

Oh, just relax. Just relax.
Help will be here in a minute.

Oh. Officer.

Officer. Uh, can you
call an ambulance?

Uh, there's one on
its way. Oh, good.

Excuse me. Mister, are you okay?

I don't think s... oh, the pain!

[MOANS]

Huh. You see, th... there
was this green light and...

I don't know what happened,
but he stopped and...

I know. Everybody's
in such a hurry

trying to b*at the light, right?

I wasn't trying
to b*at the light.

Okay. Well, listen, we've
got to fill out a report.

Come on over here.
This car has been involved

in a rear-end collision.

You should check it out.

Uh, do you want me
to have 'em look at you?

No, I'm fine. I... I...

Do you think he'll be all right?

OFFICER: Yeah, probably.
So it doesn't look too bad.

[SIGHS]

Oh, I feel terrible.

[♪♪]

[SIGHS]

I just can't get my
mind off that poor man.

He was in such terrible pain.

Oh, it was a minor
accident, darling.

I'm sure he's doing fine now.

Our insurance agent
is taking care of it

and he said for us not to worry.

Oh, great.

He wasn't the one
who hit the man.

Ah, he should be all right.

I mean... you
barely touched him.

There was no damage
done to the Rolls.

I know, but you
should have seen him.

He was... so helpless-looking.

I called the hospital, darling.

They said he's
resting comfortably.

But if you'd like to
go down tomorrow

and see how he's
doing, we can do that.

Oh, I would. I really would.

It would make
me feel a lot better.

[♪♪]

WOMAN [OVER PA]:
Orderlies not assigned to duty

report to Emergency.

[TWO SNAPS, CLAP]

[DOOR CLOSES]

[♪♪]

Hello.

Martin Willis' room, please.

Uh, he's not on
this floor any longer.

Are you relatives?

No. Uh... I was

in the... accident with him.

Oh.

Is something wrong?

He was doing so well.

What happened? Complications.

What sort of complications?

Uh, I'm afraid
Mr. Willis d*ed last night.

[♪♪]

[♪♪]

I've never seen Mrs.
H. Like this before.

I wish there was
something I could do for her.

Yeah, she's not taking
it too well, is she, Max?

Would you mind keeping
this going for me, Mr. H.?

Thanks.

What'd the hospital say?

How did he die?

Well, the hospital report
said it... it was a trauma

caused by the accident,

but he, uh, d*ed
of a cardiac arrest.

Yeah, I had an uncle
who d*ed that way.

He was in an accident?

No. In terrific health,

perfect shape, and then... wham.

Yeah, well, those
things can happen, Max.

I'd like to get ahold
of that Willis' doctor,

get some more facts.

Don't worry about
anything here, Mr. H.

Right after lunch, I'll
get Mrs. H. involved

in a game of Scrabble, and...

she'll be okay.

I hope so, Max.

I'll see you later.

Right. See you later.

[♪♪]

[MEN CHATTERING]

[PINBALL MACHINE,
VIDEO GAMES BEEPING]

Excuse me.

Just fill this out
and don't forget

to sign the doctor's lien.

I'd like to see
Dr. Reston, please.

Everybody here wants
to see Dr. Reston.

Uh, this is personal.

Are you a friend of his?

We've never met...
but, uh... Oh. Well,

I doubt if he'll see you
if he doesn't know you.

What's the name?

Jonathan Hart. And what
is this in reference to?

It's in reference to
one of his patients.

And who might that be?

Martin Willis.

Oh.

Well, he's very busy.

I'll have to see.

How you feeling?
Not too good today.

Like I told you, the
doctor is very busy today.

And he is not at liberty to give

personal history
on his patients.

He suggests you
call his attorney.

[♪♪]

Here's my card,

in case Dr. Reston
changes his mind.

As you can see, the
doctor's very busy.

A lot of people in pain here.

You can tell him if he
wants to get rid of this pain,

to take two aspirin and
call me in the morning.

All right?

[DOOR OPENS]

[DOOR CLOSES]
[CHATTERING RESUMES]

[♪♪]

Hi, Max.

Hi, Mr. H. How did it go?

I didn't see the doctor...

but, uh, if I ever
need a lawyer,

I've got one right there.

Something funny going
on? Yeah, I think so.

When I walked in there
was a bunch of people

sitting around with neck braces.

They all looked healthy
until they saw me,

including the receptionist.

So what's the story? I don't
know. Is Mrs. H. around?

I'd like to have her help
put the pieces together.

She went out a while ago.
Something she had to do.

Did she say where she was going?

Sorry, Mr. H., but
she said not to worry.

She'll be right back. All right.

What you got going there?

Uh, I got a long
sh*t in the third

that might do something.

Playing it across the board.

I'll split it with you.

You're on.

[♪♪]

[RINGS DOORBELL]

Yes? Oh, uh, is this
the Willis residence?

Yes, it is. Can I help you?

My name is Jennifer Hart.

Is Mrs. Willis at home?

Uh... as a friend of the family,

I... I'm sure you'll understand.

Mrs. Willis is bereaved
at the loss of her husband.

Seeing you at this
time, well, I, uh...

I'm not sure I
think it's advisable.

I understand.

I just... I-I wanted her to know

that if there was anything
I could do to help...

Don't you think you've
done enough, Mrs. Hart?

[♪♪]

Well, I'm, uh... I'm sorry.

WOMAN: Ron. Who was it?

Just a real estate lady
asking about the house.

JENNIFER: He wouldn't
even let me see her.

Well, maybe it's for the better.

All I wanted to do was
explain what happened.

I feel like a criminal.

[DOORBELL RINGS]

Darling, I... I wish you really

hadn't have gone
over there alone.

Hi, there. This is for
Mrs. Jennifer Hart.

She's not seeing anybody today.

Well, can you sign for her?

Sure, what do you got here?

Oh, I don't read
'em. I just deliver 'em.

Thanks.

I don't like the feel of it.

[CHUCKLES] So long.

[♪♪]

It's for you, Mrs.
H. I signed for it.

Thanks, Max.

That looks like a
legal document.

It is.

They're suing me.

They're what?

They're suing me
for the wrongful death

of Martin Willis.

Wrongful death?

You mean, they're saying
you whacked him out?

They certainly are.

And they're
asking for $2 million

of compensation.

[♪♪]

CAMP: So what's
the big emergency?

RESTON: I had an
unexpected visitor today.

The police?

They're not asking
any questions, are they?

No. No, not them. But
we've got to be more careful.

I'm always careful.

Now, what are you talking about?

A man came by...

asking about Martin Willis.

What did you tell him?

To see you.

What?

Who was he?

Jonathan Hart.

You know him?

It was his wife we set up.

Well, I don't like this.

I can tell you that.

Don't worry.

[♪♪]

I've taken care of the Harts.

You won't be hearing
from them again.

What makes you so sure?

I've given them something
more important to think about.

Jonathan... oh, there you are.

I've been looking
all over for you.

Oh, baby.

You feel as bad about
this as I do, don't you?

Yes, I do.

You know, I've been
thinking about that doctor.

Really? Willis' doctor?

Yeah, there's something
funny about him.

Well, how do you know, darling?
You've never even seen him.

I didn't have to.

I think I saw
everything I needed to

in the waiting room.

What do you mean?

Well, when I walked in
there, the patients were going

at those video games full steam.

Then when they saw me,

everyone seemed to
take a turn for worse.

Do you think they were faking?

I don't know, but the
interesting thing is,

they all look like they'd
been in an accident.

Do you think that Reston's
specialty is accidents?

I'd stake my collarbone on it.

How do we prove that?

Want to play doctor?

[♪♪]

[♪♪]

[MAN SNORING]

JENNIFER [WHISPERING]:
Darling. The light's on.

Maybe we ought
to get out of here.

JONATHAN: Now, that's
the physical therapy room.

As long as we're here,
let's check out the office.

[WHISPERING] Darling.
These are the patients' files.

[SNORTS] [CLATTERING]

Here it is.

Look at that.

[DOOR CLOSES]

Someone's coming.

[GASPS]

[SIGHS]

Turn on the light.

Well, it's Dr. Reston.

The accident specialist.

Is he all right?

Yeah, he's alive.

I think he's drunk.

Come on, let's get out of here.

[♪♪]

JONATHAN: I wish I could have

at least come up with
some solid evidence.

Right.

The next time I call, it
won't be to turn myself in.

Goodbye, Lieutenant.

What happened?

He says we were lucky.

Lucky?

Well, we did go in uninvited.
Breaking and entering?

Not to mention destruction
of private property.

So why are we so lucky?

Reston thinks that someone
was looking for dr*gs.

The lieutenant also
made it very clear

that he didn't want us to
be involved with police work.

He said if there's
something going on, that we...

I know. We should
leave up to the police.

Right.

So where do we go from here?

We go back to the
scene of the accident.

Oh, Jonathan.

I don't want to go
over all that again.

Darling... is there something

that you could, uh, think of

that might have happened
before the accident.

Some detail that you've
forgotten? [SIGHS]

Before the accident? Yeah.

I don't know. Let's see, um...

I was stopped for a red light.

Wait a minute.

You know, I... I, uh...

I think he was right next to me.

Yes, he was.

I remember he
was awfully nervous

and there was a "for sale"
sign in the side window.

In fact...

he cut in front of me when
we were going up the hill.

That's how he got in front
of me when we approached

the intersection where
the accident happened.

We both stopped for a light,

then the light turned green.

He started up again
and then he stopped

and I hit him.

That doesn't
sound right, does it?

No, it doesn't.

Jonathan... do you
think that maybe he...?

Yeah, I think he
created the accident

in order to collect
the insurance money.

But, darling...

we're being sued for $2
million because he d*ed.

[FREEWAY BARKS]
MAX: Here we are.

Freeway paid tribute to the lawn

and the lamppost.

That really deserves a
double doggy treat, huh?

Yeah. Yeah, Max.

Feeling better, Mrs. H.?

Oh, yes, Max. Thank
you. Much better.

She's feeling a lot better, Max.

It's you I'm worried about.

Me? Don't worry about me.

I never felt better in my life.

No, that, uh...

kink you've got in your neck.

Kink?

I got no kink.

[♪♪]

Oh.

[♪♪]

Service with a smile.

[CHUCKLES] We aim to please.

Oh, thanks.

[DOOR OPENS]

[DOOR CLOSES]

Here you go.

Nice setup you got here.

Glad you like it.

Here's to you.

Ah.

It indicates here
that you were hit

in a rear-end
collision yesterday.

Yeah. Some guy
nailed me real good.

So, what can we do for you?

Well, this buddy of mine told me

I shouldn't mess around
with my insurance company.

He said if I saw a lawyer
I'd be much better off.

If you know what I mean.

Tell me...

how did you happen
to come to this office?

Your friend?

I called this guy my
buddy suggested,

but he was out of town.
On a seminar or something.

So my finger took a little
trip through the yellow pages.

Your ad was the best.

It seemed to say just
what I want to hear.

From what I've read
here, you have a...

Appears you have
a very strong case.

I see no problems.

So you can make it
worth my while, huh?

I foresee no difficulties.

What we'll do first is start you
on some medical treatment,

a little physical therapy.

I don't know about my doctor.

[CHUCKLES] A physician
who works with me exclusively

on all my personal-injury cases.

He'll take good care of you.

I was wondering...
Yes? Well, you see,

with this accident and all,
I'm out a couple of bucks.

I mean, I had to rent
a car, and, you know,

I took off time from work.

[♪♪] And you'd
like a little advance?

Only if it's kosher.
I don't want

to break the rules or nothing.

How much do you need?

How much can I get?

Depends on how
hurt you want to be.

Oh, I'm hurt real bad.

[♪♪]

We're glad you could
come over, Paul.

That's all right. My pleasure.

Besides, it's a nice
change from city hall

and the, uh, public
defender's office.

Hi, Jonathan.

Paul. How are you?
Nice to see you.

Nice to see you.

So... what can I do for you two?

You, uh, have a traffic ticket

you want me to take care of?

Not exactly.

We need some information.

Sure. I'd be happy
to help if I can.

Would you like a drink?

Yeah, I'd love one.
Scotch, please.

You got it.

Have you heard of an attorney
by the name of Ronald Camp?

Camp. Yeah.

Yeah, I've seen him
around city hall... a lot.

He's a court-appointed attorney.

You know, what's when
the defendant can't afford one

and the court assigns one.

It's every citizen's right.

What is Mr. Camp's specialty?

Criminal, mostly.

But just, uh,
two-bit stuff. Thanks.

It's an easy way to
build up your clientele.

What do you mean?

Well... chances are, the
defendant's gonna get off.

I mean, if it's a first offense.

And chances are they're
gonna get busted again.

They usually end up calling
the guy who got 'em off.

Ron Camp keeps real busy.

You mean, most of his
clients are petty thieves

and minor drug offenders.

Et cetera.

Say, look, you're not
involved with him, are you?

Well, nothing we can't handle.

Oh? What'd you do,

run into the back-end
of one of his clients?

[CHUCKLES] Why did you say that?

Oh, Camp handles
a lot of PI on the side.

What... what does that mean?

Um, personal injury, isn't it?

Right. Yeah.

Well, he's an ambulance chaser.

It's the only way
that kind of shyster

can make any kind of big bucks.

There's not much
work involved in it.

[SIGHS]

Now you know who to blame
your high insurance rates on.

Cheers.

[♪♪]

Here you are,
darling. Thank you.

Hi, Mr. and Mrs. H.

Nice touch, don't you think?

What's that for, Max?

I saw that lawyer, Ronald Camp.

I mean, if I was
really in an accident,

this is the way I'd wind up.

You want some coffee,
Max? Oh, thanks.

What'd you find out?

Well, it was a real
pain in the neck,

but I found out what you wanted.

When I was waiting, I listened
to these other guys talking.

They all knew each other.

None of them worked. One
of them was on probation.

Were they all rear-ended?

MAX: Yeah. All whiplash like me.

There's one thing
I don't get it, Mr. H.

If Martin Willis was
in on the scam...

what when wrong?
Why'd he get it?

Because an
accident only pays off

a few thousand dollars.

But accidental death...

Now, you're playing
for really high stakes.

Darling, do you
think that Mrs. Willis

was in on it all the time

and just got greedy?

Yeah, I think that
could be a possibility.

Hey. Maybe this lady
had a guy on the side, huh?

I think we ought
to find that out, too.

[TELEPHONE RINGS]

Hello. Jonathan Hart.

Oh, yes, Lieutenant.

All right.

They got the preliminary
autopsy report on Willis.

You think that somebody

tampered with the intravenous?

Yeah.

Okay. Um, yeah.

Thanks, uh, very much,
Lieutenant. Bye. Appreciate it.

The night nurse said that, uh,

somebody moved the
clip on the intravenous.

Their theory is that
somebody took the IV apart,

put something in the drip,

and that, uh, fed
into the system.

Certainly would be a good way

to poison somebody, wouldn't it?

Yeah. Well, there's
nothing definite.

The cause of death
remains the same.

Complications
due to the accident.

[♪♪]

And me.

[♪♪]

The door's open. Oh.

Hello?

Maybe they're around back.

Let's check.

Uh, Mrs. Willis?

Oh. Hi there.

Hello, I'm, uh, Jonathan Hart.

Hello. This is
my wife, Jennifer.

How do you do, Mrs.
Willis? Pleased to meet you.

Um, what can I do for you?

Well, my wife, uh, is the
person who was involved

in the accident
with your husband.

And we'd like to
talk to you about it.

Oh. You're...
You're the lady, uh...

[SIGHS] I-I know you must feel

really badly about
hitting Marty and...

I just don't even
know what happened.

You don't?

No. A friend of mine

h-has been, uh, taking
care of everything for me

and he wanted me to wait
until I was feeling better.

Uh... [SIGHS] W-would
you please sit down?

Thank you.

[SIGHS]

Look, uh...

you're just going to
have to bear with me,

see, 'cause I... I haven't
been myself lately.

And when I found
out, I wanted to call you

and I wanted to
let you know that...

I know that you weren't to
blame or anything like that.

And I know that it
was just an accident.

Thank you.

Mrs. Willis, if you think
it was just an accident,

then, uh... why
are you filing suit?

Suit? I... I don't
know what you mean.

These are legal
documents and they state

that you're filing a suit

against my wife
for, uh, $2 million.

Two million dollars?

W-why would I do
a thing like that?

Because of the accident.

Well, that's ridiculous.

I know that you didn't mean it.

And you really look
like a very nice person.

She is. And it was
a minor accident.

Look, I know a lot
of people didn't think

that Marty was very good.

And I... I know he
gambled. So what?

[SIGHS]

We had something
that was very special.

I loved him.

And not even $100 million...

would make up
for his being gone.

And the lawsuit?

I don't know anything about it.

[♪♪]

But... I think I might
know who does.

Would that be Ron Camp?

Yeah.

I'm sorry, Mrs.
Willis, but I'm afraid

your husband's
last bet was thrown.

He didn't stand a
chance of winning.

[♪♪]

[INTERCOM BUZZES]

Yeah.

SECRETARY: Mr. Camp,

it's Louanne Willis on line 2.

Great.

Louanne. I was
just gonna call you.

LOUANNE: Ron, is that you?

[CHUCKLES] Yes, of course it is.

Heh, where are you? It
sounds like you're in a tunnel.

I've got you on my speakerphone.

Well, good. Because there's

something that I
want to tell you,

and I don't care if the
whole world hears it.

Good news?

What is this about legal suits

and wrongful deaths?

[♪♪]

Uh... uh, it's, uh... It's
standard procedure

in a case like this.

What case?

Look, I don't appreciate
your taking advantage of me

or trying to make a
profit off of Marty's death.

Or taking advantage
of those people.

Louanne, you don't understand.

I... I-I'm just looking
after your best interest.

What interest?

You... and me.

With Marty gone, I
thought we could...

[SCOFFS QUIETLY]
Ron, I told you years ago

that you and I are finished.

And you didn't listen to me then

and I guess that
you never heard me.

I married Marty
because I loved him...

and because... he was good to me

and he made me laugh.

I mean, we had a
really good thing.

And I thought you
were my friend.

I am. I care about you.

That... that's why
I'm doing all this.

Look, I just want you to
give that $2 million back.

Wherever it came from,
I don't want any part of it.

Furthermore, Ron, I
don't want any part of you.

[♪♪]

[SIGHS] Mr. Camp,

I found something
very interesting here.

I was making up the files,
and you'll never believe this.

But you know that
guy who came in here

with the rear-ender
the other day? Max?

What do you want, Susan?

I'm trying to tell
you, Mr. Camp,

he's the same person who signed

for Mrs. Hart when
she was served.

Tell me...? Tell me what?

[SIGHS] Mr. Camp.

Look.

Yeah, yeah. They're signed.

[SIGHS]

Here's the signature

on the proof of
service for Mrs. Hart.

Here's Max's signature on
his client docket and liens.

[♪♪]

What?

Why didn't you
show me this before?

They're the same.

I thought you'd never notice.

[SIGHS] I don't believe it.

Get me Dr. Reston on
the phone right away.

And hold all my phone calls.
I don't want to see anyone.

Uh, Mr. Camp... Right away!

[DOOR CLOSES]

[♪♪]

Yeah.

Well, the Harts' man, Max,

is waiting in the
reception room.

Mm.

You leave me no choice, Ron.

I'll have to take care of him.

Well, I think we
should celebrate.

I'm gonna call Lieutenant Grey

and tell him what we
found out about Camp.

Darling.

Max has gone to the
clinic for a treatment.

Gone to the clinic?

Dr. Reston's physical therapy

can be very hazardous
to your health.

Let's get over there.

How you feeling, Max?

I think your therapy
is beginning to help.

Oh, good.

Well, I have something for you.

It's, um, a muscle relaxer.

It'll ease out all that
tenseness you've been feeling.

Help you along
with your therapy.

I don't know if I
need this, Doc.

Doctor's orders, Max.

Come on.

[♪♪]

That a boy, Max.

Let's get on the table.

Face down.

[♪♪]

[TIRES SCREECHING]

All right, Max,
now, you just relax.

Gee, Doc, that feels real good.

Be back to check on you
in about a half an hour.

[DOOR OPENS]

[DOOR CLOSES]

Did you take care of him?

I gave him a tranquilizer.

You want a drink? No.

Well, I can use one.

We got about 20 minutes,

then he should be
sleeping like a baby.

Do you have the stuff here?

[♪♪]

Yeah.

This should do the trick.

Are you sure it won't
show up in his system?

It didn't in Marty, did it?

[SIGHS]

I... I thought...

I thought you'd do it this time.

This is as far as I go.

But... he's not even
hooked up to an IV.

You can figure it out.

I got faith in you.

Let's get it over with.

You covered
yourself, didn't you?

Death due to complication,

a result of which
caused his heart to stop.

Lucky for you, they won't

hold that against
you in a court of law.

[♪♪]

[♪♪]

He'll be out a while.

Yeah.

A lifetime.

Wait a minute.

You can't go in there.

Stop!

What's going on here?

That's what I'd like to know.

[GRUNTING]

Okay.

Ron, why don't you
just give it up, huh?

[GRUNTING]

[♪♪]

JONATHAN: Watch it. Careful.

Was that meant for Max?

As they say...

innocent until proven otherwise.

What happened?
I'll explain later.

Just my luck.

Looks like I slept
through the best part.

Well, I'll tell you
something, Max.

We're not ready
for an instant replay.

[♪♪]

JENNIFER: Oh.

Oh. Ah. [WINCES]

Oh, darling.

[GRUNTING]

Do you think anxiety
makes you accident-prone?

I think it's only a sprain. Oh.

Besides, your anxiety
was over yesterday.

I think your
timing's a little off.

Yeah, about three stairs.

Easy. Ouch!

[SIGHS]

Now, look... what we do...

is put your ankle up.

[GROANS]

Easy, easy, easy. Up like that.

Ooh.

Then we apply the
ice to the injured area.

Do you have a
license to practice?

I take any license I can get.

Now, the other thing is

you should slide down
a little bit like that, see?

Relieves the stress on
your back. [GRUNTING]

Now, put your arms
around me, that's it.

Lean forward. But, darling,

it's my ankle that's
hurt, not my back.

Oh.

Darling. Huh?

Sometimes these
things creep up on you.

So I've noticed. Uh-huh.

You know, the most
important thing...

is to make sure that the patient

is feeling comfortable.

Oh. Mm-hm.

Darling. Hm?

Do you think

that mouth-to-mouth is
gonna help my sprain?

I've never lost an ankle yet.

Oh.
