male narrator:

Saving time.

Samson

is a very proud engine

who usually works

on the mainland

but sometimes

comes over to help

on the Island of Sodor.

Thomas was collecting some cars

from the shunting yard

when Samson arrived.

- Hello, Thomas.

Stanley.

- [grumbles]

- Been asked to help out

with a big order of stone

from the Blue Mountain Quarry.

Sir Topham Hatt wants it moved

Said I was the only engine

for the job.

- Nonsense.

You're not the only engine

Thomas?

Thomas up to the quarry.

Going to the docks,

are they, Sir Handel?

- Yes, Samson.

But you'll have to

It was you who

Never mind.

Need to learn

from my mistakes.

- So I guess you won't be taking

so many cars next time?

[whistle toots]

- Certainly not, Thomas.

That would be silly.

- [laughs]

narrator: But as Thomas

was approaching

Gordon's Hill again...

[whistle blows]

Samson came racing from behind,

and this time he was

pulling only one car.

- [chuckling]

Samson!

You can take

more than that!

- I know, Thomas!

But it's much quicker

this way!

Saves time

in the long run!

- Oh.

[laughs]

narrator: But Thomas

knew Samson

wasn't really saving time.

He was just

being silly again.
