Glitter Ball Trouble

a story about responsibility.

[cracking]

- [gasps] That egg moved.

- You just moved the table.

- Ah, I thought it
was going to hatch.

- Not quite, but soon.

Thanks for egg sitting
while I'’m at the dentist.

You will watch them every single
second, won'’t you Chelsea?

- Don'’t worry Zoie.

Even if they do hatch, I can
handle a few baby chicks.

Bye, Zoie.

- Bye, Chelsea.

- I mean, they'’re so small,

how much trouble could they be?

[barks]

[dramatic music]

Wow, are these
glitter ball eggs?

- Yep, twelve of them.

And according to
my glitterometer,

they'’re going to
hatch very soon.

- It'’s been a long time

since we had new glitterball
babies in sparkle mountain.

- Ah, they'’re going
to be so cute.

- Oh, they'’ll be cute alright.

Also, playful, active
and very energetic.

[barks]

- Sounds just like you, Honey.

When you were a much
younger puppy, I mean.

- Chelsea, since you have
experience with little ones,

could you watch the eggs for me?

I'’m way behind on my gem making.

- Me?

Sure, Sapphire, I'’d love to.

- No, I can'’t ask that of you.

They could hatch any minute.

That'’s okay, I can handle it.

- And I'’ll help.

I love glitterball babies.

- Well, if you'’re sure then.

Thank you.

I'’ll check on you later.

- Oh, I almost forgot.

Glitterball babies
shouldn'’t get near water

for a few weeks
after they'’re born.

It takes away their glitter.

So if they do hatch
before I get back,

be sure to keep
them nice and dry.

Good luck!

- We won'’t need luck, we
got this, right Barbie?

- Uh, Chels, you
might wanna see this.

[squeals]

- It'’s adorable.

Another one.

[chirping]

- Wow, twelve is a lot
of glitterball babies.

[squealing]

- Ah, they'’re so smart.

They'’re already
moving and talking.

[barks]

Honey, careful.

They'’re still babies.

[humming]

[squealing]

Glitter babies, come back!

- We'’d better go after them.

- Look it, they'’re curious.

They just wanted to
see what was outside.

- We should get them back
inside where it'’s safe.

Psst, Chels, what'’s the plan?

- I'’m kind of making
it up as I go.

- Good plan.

[barks]

- Oh, not again.

Honey, Honey!

[barking]

Ah, they'’re just playing.

Good glitterballs, good.

- I have to admit, I was
nervous for a second there.

- See, there'’s nothing
to worry about.

We are great baby sitters.

Uh oh.

- Now where'’d they go?

I can'’t believe we
lost sight of them.

- They are fast little guys.

- [Cobalt] Hello?

Anyone out there?

- [Amethyst] Besides
glitterballs?

- Cobalt?

Amethyst?

- [Both] Up here!

- What are you doing up there?

- We were practicing
a flying spell,

when out of nowhere
came a huge herd, uh...

Flock...

Pack of glitterball babies.

Now we can'’t get down.

Hang on, I can help.

[magical chimes]

- Oh, thank you Barbie.

Hi Chelsea.

- Hi.

So did you see which way
the glitterballs went?

They'’re kind of
my responsibility.

- That way.

- I thought it was that way.

- [Melky] Ah, back you
glittery scoundrels.

- [Both] That way!

[squealing]

- Ah, you found them, Melky.

I was supposed to be watching
the glitterball babies.

But they kinda got away.

- As you can see, they
chased me up this tree.

Don'’t they know that no
one chases the castle cat?

[barks]

Except for you.

- Don'’t worry, they'’re friendly.

You can come down.

[squealing]

- Hm, if you don'’t mind,
I'’ll just stay up here

a little longer.

- Look, they seem hungry.

- Maybe that'’s why
they keep running off.

[humming]

[squealing]

- Wait, babies,
where are you going?

- After them!

Bye, Melky.

- Hm, I thought
they'’d never leave.

- There.

- [laughing] Oh, stop.

Hi, Barbie, hi Chelsea.

Good to see you.

I'’m in a bit of a
tickle pickle here.

Can you help.

- Sorry about that
Elephant King.

We'’ll get them off your back.

I hope.

- I know, try blowing them
over here with your trunk.

But not too hard.

[blows]

- [laughing] Does this mean
they'’re never gonna leave?

- Well, it seemed
like a good idea.

- I guess I'’m stuck with them.

Oh, well, there are [laughing]

worse things.

Stop!

[humming]

[squealing]

Hi, Barbie, hi, Chelsea.

Whatcha doing?

- Hi, Charm.

We'’re trying to keep an eye
on the glitterball babies.

As you can see, that'’s
easier said than done.

- Oh, I know what they like.

Follow the leader.

They'’ve been following
me around all day.

Watch.

- [Both] Wait!

- Follow that hummingbird!

- Bye.

- Oh, I miss them already.

- Oh no, we lost them again.

- I'’m really worried.

They'’re so small.

I thought it would be
easy taking care of them.

- Don'’t feel badly Chels.

It was more than both
of us could handle.

Just because something is small,

doesn'’t mean it'’s gonna be easy.

[humming]

Charm, there you are.

- Where are the
glitterball babies?

- They got tired
of following me,

so they stopped for break.

You mind taking over from here.

Those little guys wore me out.

Sure, where are they.

Just over there
by Shimmer Falls.

Have fun [giggles].

- [Both] Shimmer Falls!

- Sapphire said if they get wet,

it takes away their glitter.

- Not gonna happen.

Let'’s go.

[squealing]

Okay, we just have to
get them to follow us.

Hang onto Honey.

Let'’s go in closer.

[magical chimes]

[squealing]

- Glitter babies, up here!

[squealing]

- Oh, they still
won'’t follow us.

- They followed Charm.

Maybe if we sounded like Charm,

they'’d follow us too!

- It'’s worth a try.

[humming]

[squealing]

It'’s working.

Keep humming, let'’s get
them onto the gem pad.

[humming]

- Good babies.

They'’ll be home safe
and sound in no time.

- Okay, we'’re back.

[squeaking]

Looks like it went pretty well.

[squealing]

[humming]

- Oh, hi.

- Barbie, listen.

The grown up glitterballs
sound just like Charm.

That'’s why the babies
were following her.

[squealing]

- What do you mean
one'’s missing?

[humming]

- Quick little
things, aren'’t they?

[squealing]

- Oh, I get tired just watching.

Thank you Charm and
Chelsea and Barbie

for taking such
good care of them.

They didn'’t give you
any trouble, did they?

- Um, actually,
Sapphire, at first,

they were a little more
than we could handle.

- But with a little
help from a friend,

everything turned out alright.

[squealing]

[chirping]

- Thank you for coming to help.

I kind of panicked when they
started hatching all at once.

- Are you kidding?

I'’ll help you chick sit anytime.

They'’re so cute.

- And fast.

- They hatched.

Thank you Chelsea!

- Don'’t thank me,
everyone helped.

[barks]

Even Honey.

- Oh look, the last one.

- Ah, isn'’t it cute.

- Look at the little
baby, oh so cute.
