02x16 - Break Van

Post by bunniefuu »

Twins Donald and Douglas came
from Scotland to help.

One engine was expected.
The twins caused confusion.

The Fat Controller gave them
the numbers and .

He planned to send one engine home.

A brake van had taken
a dislike to Douglas.

Things went wrong
when he had to take it out.

His trains were late and he was blamed.
Douglas began to worry.

Donald, his twin, was angry.

“You're a muckle nuisance.
I'd leave you behind.”

"I'm essential.”

“Och, aye, you're nothing
but a screeching and a noise.

“Spite Dougie would you?"

“Oh,” cried the van.

"Don't misbehave.”

The van behaved better
until Donald had an accident.

The rails were slippery.
He couldn't stop in time.

The Fat Controller was annoyed.

“I am disappointed.
I did not expect such clumsiness.

“I had decided to keep you.”

“I'm sorry," said Donald.

“You have upset my arrangements.

“James will have to help
while you are mended.

“James won't like that."

The Fat Controller was right.
James grumbled.

“Anyone would think
Donald had his accident on purpose.

“I heard about an engine
and tar wagons.”

“Shut up." James didn't like to hear
about his accident.

“Well, well, well.
Surely, James, it wasn't you.

“You didnae say.”

James didn't say. He slouched away.

“He's cross,” said the brake van.

"We'll make him crosser.”

“Hold back," giggled the trucks.

James did his best
but he was exhausted.

Luckily Douglas was there.

“Help me up the hill," said James.
“The trucks are playing tricks."

"We'll show them."

Slowly but surely,
they forced the trucks up.

James was losing steam. "I can't do it.”

“Leave it to me,” said Douglas.

The guard was anxious.
“The van's breaking.”

The van was in pieces. No one was hurt
and Edward came to clear up.

The Fat Controller said,
"I might have known it'd be Douglas.”

“Douglas was grand,” said Edward.

“Douglas worked hard enough
for three. I heard him."

“Two would have been enough.

“I want to be fair, Douglas,
but I don't know,

“I really don't.”

He was trying to make up his mind -
but that's another story.
