We don't want to be late.

Yeah, school today is gonna be really, really special.

Lorca: Who's Prince Griffin?

Prince Griffin is the dragon who tamed the golden unicorn.

He untangled the pretzel snakes.

He charted the invisible sea.

He's the greatest hero in Dragon Land history.

Max: Hmm? Emmy: Oh.

Quetzal reads us stories about him every year,

Teachers can look lots of different ways.

Ms. Tipps: It's such a beautiful thing for me

to be back at the School in the Sky.

But first, my surprise,

we're going to start the day by taking a field trip.

Lorca: But we always start class with Quetzal reading a story,

and today we were supposed to hear about Prince Griffin,

my favorite.

[Birds chirping]

And have you ever seen fainting ferns?

Max: How come we've never been here before?

It's so close to the school.

Enrique: It's hidden away like a secret garden.

That funny-looking ivy is making me itch.

And those birds are staring at me.

I don't like it here.

Lorca was right.

We should have stayed at school today.

There's nothing to be afraid of, Ord.

Zak: We know what these birds are.

They're rhythm birds.

Wheezie: And, boy, do they keep a crazy beat.

And now let's make some music.

Music time is usually the last part of the day.

I hear what you're saying, Lorca,

but if you can go with the flow, you know, be patient,

I think you'll still have fun.

[Sighs] Yes, Ms. Tipps.

Zak: We'd like to play everyone's favorite,

"The Rainbow Canyon Blues and Greens."

Please don't clap until the end.

Huh?

Don't mean to interrupt,

but I was wondering if you wouldn't mind

performing your song on one of these.

Wheezie: But, Ms. Tipps,

we've never played anything like that before.

Then try any of these.

Any one at all.

Wheezie: We've never ever seen anything

like these instruments before.

Then it will be a new experience for everybody.

But we like to practice before we play in front of an audience.

That way we won't make mistakes.

Oh, pah, don't worry about mistakes.

Everyone makes mistakes.

Just have fun.

Lorca: Quetzal would never ask Zak and Wheezie

to play those rusty old things.

Cassie: I'll help.

I'll play with Zak and Wheezie.

Sounds like fun.

Thanks, Cassie. That's the spirit.

Zak: Well, I'm not sure what it'll sound like,

but we'll give it a try.

Wheezie: And away we go.

And a-one and a-two and a...

[Blowing horns]

Lorca, don't you want to join in?

Well...

[Music playing]

[Laughter] Ord: That was cool.

Zak: We're pretty good.

It's a beautiful thing.

Thanks, everybody.

Lorca: The day's almost over,

and we still haven't heard about Prince Griffin,

Treat time.

Oh, boy, I'm starving.

Lorca: I've never seen anything like them before.

What's in them?

Max: I don't know.

Try one, Cassie.

Uh...no, thanks.

Enrique. I'll try one.

They look like enchiladas.

Max: Hmm.

Ord: Uh.

[Gulps] Me gusta.

All: Mmm!

Cassie: This is really tasty.

Emmy: Try one, Lorca, before Ord eats them all.

How do I know if I'll like it?

I know.

We can tell Lorca if these taste like anything

we know he already likes.

Wheezie: [Slurps] Well...

it's like a stickleback loaf sandwich,

only not so smooshy mooshy.

It sticks to the roof of your mouth like peanut butter.

It tastes like--like I want another.

Zak: I'd say it tastes a lot like Ragnarok cheese

with just a hint of chopped green leafy,

all in a delicate crust of dandelion flower.

Well, it does.

Well, I do like all those things.

Mmm! Hey, it is good.

Let's sit down, everybody.

[Sighs] Another change. Now what?

I thought this would be a lovely place

to end our day together

and hear a story about Prince Griffin the Great.

[Gasps] Prince Griffin? At last!

Yes, Lorca, I'm going to read the story of Prince Griffin

and the golden unicorn.

Do you know it?

Oh, do I ever!

Then maybe you'd like to start.

Well, Prince Griffin had to catch the golden unicorn

to learn its secret,

so he followed it into a forest

with all kinds of strange plants.

Excuse me, Lorca. Which part of the forest?

It was called Shady Hollow.

Cassie: That's where we went today.

That's right. Here it is.

We visited the very same place

where Prince Griffin chased the unicorn.

Wow! Really?

Yes, really.

And do you know how he caught the unicorn?

The unicorn was too fast to be trapped,

so the prince lured it with the sound of hunting horns.

Zak: Those are the ones we played today.

Right, Zak.

The prince used the same kind of horns.

And in the end, the prince and the unicorn

shared a meal of cheese wrapped in a thin pancake.

Ord: [Slurp] Just like those yummy treats.

You're right, Ord.

I hope that seeing, hearing, and tasting the same things

the prince did made this story come alive for you.

Oh, it sure did.

It was even more exciting than I remembered.

Cassie: First thing tomorrow,

we're gonna ask Quetzal if you can come visit us again.

Lorca: And soon, real soon.

It's nice of you to say that, Lorca.

To be honest, I wasn't sure

you liked the way I taught the class today.

Well, I didn't at first.

But I guess that sometimes a little change can be--

Ms. Tipps: a beautiful thing?

Lorca: Yes!

Kids: I wish, I wish to use this rhyme

to go back home until next time.

Let's go to my house. We can play in my backyard.

But in the afternoons, we play here in the playroom.

It's what we always do.

Heh heh. Gee, Max, does your sister

remind you of someone we know in Dragon Land?

Max: Mm-hmm!

OK, maybe we should do something different.

Max: Like Ms. Tipps said,

a little change can be...

All: a beautiful thing.
