and that reminds me I wasn't invited.
Cassie: Well, come on, everyone.
We have two more things to try and find.
Next up...
Zak, Wheezie, and Cassie: A rainbow rock.
Wheezie: b*at you to the rock field, Zaky.
Zak: Not if I get there first.
[All laugh]
Wheezie: I won. Zak: No way.
What do you say, Emmy?

Ord: Wow. I've never seen

Cassie: I'll bet nobody at Brian's party

Max: Neither will we.
It's not even sunny outside
and you can't even tell which one's
a rainbow rock unless the sun shines on it.
Emmy: There can't be that many rocks shaped like diamonds.
We just need to look extra hard.
Zak and Wheezie: Hmm.
Max: Emmy said coming to Dragon Land
would make me feel better, but it isn't.
And I usually like nature hunts,
but I still feel pretty sad.
[Sigh]
And I still wish I was at Brian's party.
Cassie: Max, I understand how you're feeling.
I've felt the exact same way myself.
Max: How could you? You got
a zillion brothers and sisters.
You probably go to birthday parties every day.
Cassie: I mean, I know what it feels like
to be left out and to feel sad.
One day after school, I wanted to play dragonball,
but nobody picked me to be on their team.
At first, I felt really, really terrible.
Max: But then they changed their minds
and said they made a big mistake by not inviting--
I mean, picking you?
And they were really, really sorry?
Cassie: Uh, no. I never got to play.
Max: Oh. That story isn't really making me
feel any better, Cassie.
Cassie: The thing is, even though I felt
really, really bad at first,
some of my sisters and I went to Singing Springs
and sang happy songs instead.
After that, I felt much, much better.
Max: Singing would just remind me
that my school friends are probably singing
"Happy Birthday" to Brian right now.
Cassie: Uh-- Max: Everything reminds me of the party.
There's nothing that'll make me feel better ever again.
Emmy: Max, remember what Quetzal said?

before it even wakes up.
Pleasant dreams, little bean.
[Laughs]
Ord: Hopping was extra fun.
Ha ha hey.
Cassie: Yes, Emmy. Great idea.
Max: I was just thinking.
Hopping reminds me of hopscotch,
which we always play at birthday parties back home,
but know what? Even though I was thinking about
Brian's party, I didn't feel as sad.
Cassie: That's probably because you had so much fun,
you didn't have room inside you for any sadness.
Quetzal: Muy bien, ninos.
You found all items.

'cause then I started thinking how
tomorrow at my school,

Brian's birthday party.
Quetzal: There is no magical cure for sadness, Max.
But I think you'll agree
that feeling sad doesn't last forever.
It starts to get less and less strong as time passes,
and the more you allow yourself to have fun.
Max: Well, I did have fun
chasing the bow blossom
and finding the rainbow rock,
and especially hopping after that hopping bean.
[Max laughs]

You don't have to smash your cake.
I don't mind being reminded of Brian's birthday party

I'm squishing it because I want to make

Max: What are you doing, Emmy?
Emmy: Each one of us can fill in
one of these boxes.
When you finish painting yours,
you can run to the front of the line.
Wheezie: What do we do then?
Emmy: You paint another box to try to stay
ahead of everyone else.
Like a race.
Zak: What's the big box for?
Emmy: You and Wheezie can share it,
since there's two of you.
Wheezie: Looove it!
Max: Come on, Ord. I'm gonna b*at you.
Ord: Not if I sing my mommy's song!

all along the way.
What's wrong, little buddy?
Emmy: Max's friend Brian is having a birthday party
and Max wasn't invited.
Cassie: Oh. I'm sorry, Max.
But I'm sure there's a good explanation.
Maybe your invitation got lost in the mail.
Ord: Or maybe it's a really small party
and Brian could only invite a few friends.
Max: Yeah, well, whatever.
Quetzal: Hola, ninos.
Max, I overheard your discussion
regarding Brian's birthday party and--
Max: You know why I wasn't invited?
Quetzal: Well, no, I don't,
but I do understand that you feel hurt.
Nobody likes being left out.
Max: You can say that again.
Quetzal: And the important thing to remember is
that feeling sad doesn't last forever.
Meanwhile, try to find things to do
to make you happy again,
like a nature hunt.
I have items for you to locate
on your adventure, ninos.
The first one is a bow blossom,
and it can be found in the field of flowers.
Second, if you look very carefully
in the field of rocks,
you may find the rainbow rock.
Emmy: I don't see a rainbow.
Quetzal: Es verdad, Emmy. It's true.
But when sunlight hits the rainbow rock just right...
Kids and dragons: Ooh. Wow.
Quetzal: it opens up and the colors
of the rainbow appear.
Cassie: You said there was a third thing
we should try to find, Quetzal.

I have to find it myself.

Quetzal: Ord?
Ord: In the field of...uh... uh, beans!
Quetzal: That's correct. Cassie,
will you be in charge of carrying the pictures?
Cassie: Of course, Quetzal.
Ord: Well, what are we waiting for?
Dragonberries--er, I mean, nature hunt,
here we come.
It's gonna be fun, huh, Max?
Max: I hope so.
Quetzal: All right, ninos. Good luck.
Remember, Max, just give it time.
Max: Mm-hmm!
Emmy: You have to admit, Max, this sure beats
sitting at home staring out the window, doesn't it?
Max: I guess.
Cassie: OK. The first thing we have to find
is the bow blossom.
Ord: Hmm.
I see one! I see one!
Ohh!
Cassie: Oh, no!

Uhh.
Ord: Whoa!

Max: Uhh!
Zak: Way to go, Max.

and presents remind me of Brian's birthday party,
and that reminds me I wasn't invited.

[Emmy laughs] Gee,
it looked neck and neck to me.
Ord: Wow. I've never seen
so many rocks.
Cassie: I'll bet nobody at Brian's party
has ever seen a rainbow rock, Max.
Max: But then they changed their minds

some of my sisters and I went to Singing Springs

Max: This should be easy.
There are beans everywhere.
Ord: That's true. But hopping beans
aren't like any other beans.
Emmy: They're not?
Ord: Nope. They're really big, like this,
and they don't grow out of the ground.
Emmy: Hey! There goes a bean right now!
Zak: Uh, another thing about hopping beans.
Emmy: Uhh! Uhh!
Zak: They move very quickly.
Emmy: No kidding. [Laughs]
[All laugh]
Wheezie: Hopping bean ahoy!
Ord: We can catch it!
Emmy: But you know what would be really fun?

Max: No, it didn't.

[Hopping bean snoring]
[All cheering]
Wheezie: I'll put it in my pouch so it can snooze.
We can show it to Quetzal and bring it back
before it even wakes up.
Pleasant dreams, little bean.
[Laughs]
Ord: Hopping was extra fun.
Ha ha hey.
Cassie: Yes, Emmy. Great idea.
Max: I was just thinking.
Hopping reminds me of hopscotch,
which we always play at birthday parties back home,
but know what? Even though I was thinking about
Brian's party, I didn't feel as sad.
Cassie: That's probably because you had so much fun,
you didn't have room inside you for any sadness.
Quetzal: Muy bien, ninos.
You found all items.
[Hopping bean snoring]
Ord: And best of all, Max isn't so sad anymore.
Max: Well, I wasn't,
until I came back here to the school,
'cause then I started thinking how
tomorrow at my school,
the kids are gonna be talking about
Brian's birthday party.
Quetzal: There is no magical cure for sadness, Max.
But I think you'll agree
that feeling sad doesn't last forever.
It starts to get less and less strong as time passes,
and the more you allow yourself to have fun.
Max: Well, I did have fun
chasing the bow blossom
and finding the rainbow rock,
and especially hopping after that hopping bean.
[Max laughs]
[Cassie, Zak, Wheezie, Ord, and Emmy laugh]
Both: I wish, I wish to use this rhyme
to go back home until next time.
Max: It's OK, Emmy.
You don't have to smash your cake.
I don't mind being reminded of Brian's birthday party
because I'm hardly even sad anymore.
Emmy: I'm not squishing the cake
to make you feel better.
I'm squishing it because I want to make
a bow blossom, a rainbow rock,
and a hopping bean so we can have
our own nature hunt.
Max: That's the best idea ever!
