[suspenseful music] - Previously

on "The Amazing Race."

Rob and Amber, welcome to Lucknow.

In Lucknow, India, teams checked into what they thought

was a Pit Stop.

You're still racing.

- Ah! - Whoa!

- Oh my God. - Then took a train

nearly miles to Jodhpur.

When they arrived, [firecrackers popping]

teams partied with the locals.

[Gretchen cheering] - It was absolutely amazing.

- Me, up in there? - Gretchen hitched a ride

on a wooden elephant.

- Get outta the way. - While Meredith struggled

to push it through the busy streets.

- Oh, help him, help him.

We have a bad elephant.

- At the Fast Forward, - Uh-oh,

they got scissors.

- [Phil] Joyce participated in an ancient Hindu ritual.

- Okay. - [crying] It's okay,

it's just hair.

[birds squawking] - I'm sorry.

[hair clippers whirring]

Ah! [gentle chimes]

- [Phil] Sending the couple to the front of the pack.

- How do I look?

- You look beautiful. - Okay, let's go.

- [Phil] While the other teams

struggled with ill-tempered camels.

- No, this way! [camel bellowing]

- Oh, God, no. [suspenseful music]

- No! Meredith, steer her! - I'm trying!

- [Phil] On the way to the Pit Stop,

Lynn and Alex got lost.

- Which way? Where is everyone?

- And in the end,

the boyfriends couldn't recover from their mistake.

I'm sorry to tell you,

you've both been eliminated from the race.

- I love you. [suspenseful music]

- Now, four teams remain,

who will be eliminated next?

[gentle suspenseful music]

[gentle suspenseful music continues]

[gentle suspenseful music continues]

[gentle suspenseful music continues]

[gentle suspenseful music continues]

[upbeat suspenseful music]

This is Jodhpur, India, [calm upbeat music]

built more than years ago by warriors,

this city is now the agricultural center of Northwest India,

and in the heart of the city, Jaswant Thada.

This royal tomb was the eighth Pit Stop

in a race around the world. [dramatic music]

Teams arrived here at the end of the last leg

for a mandatory rest period.

Will working together help Rob and Amber, and Ron and Kelly

remain at the front of the pack?

And can Meredith and Gretchen

finally find a way out of last place?

Uchenna and Joyce, who were the first to arrive at : am,

- Yeah! - Whoo!

- [Phil] will depart at : pm.

- Fly to Istanbul, Turkey. - Istanbul, Turkey.

- [Phil] Teams must now fly

more than , miles to Istanbul, Turkey.

Once there, teams must travel by train to this dock,

then they must take a ferry to this island

known as Kiz Kulesi.

At the top of the island's tower,

they'll find their next clue. [suspenseful music]

- Okay, let's do it. - Okay, all right, let's go.

Our saying is, let go and let God,

and letting go of my hair must have been in God's plan.

I feel strong now, there's nothing that I cannot do.

And we believe that just by going through what we did now,

we will win. - We'd have to go

to a travel agent. - Yeah, let's go.

[suspenseful music]

- Fly to Istanbul, Turkey.

- Once there, make your way to the top of Kiz Kulesi.

- All right. - Let's go.

On this last leg of the race, we met Sanju,

who ended up acting as our guide for us.

Sanju, do you know where we can buy

international tickets now?

- You must go to the travel office.

- Are they open now? - Yeah.

- Okay, let me see that real quick.

All right? [mumbles] - [sighs] Geez, chill out.

- If you wanna come around here,

I can't see it while you're on

the other side. - No, no, I'm just trying to

think about what we should do. - The amount of tension

that Kelly and I have had between us

is starting to build at this point.

If we sit there and harp on all these bad feelings,

we're gonna have a hard time running the rest of the race.

- Let's go. - We need to go

to the travel agent. - We can all just go together,

right? - Amber and I work

very well together with Ron and Kelly,

but two teams working together

are not necessarily better than one team.

When push comes to shove,

we're gonna do whatever it takes to win it.

- All right, we're going to Istanbul.

Come stay at the Nova. [laughs]

- Good luck.

- You have $ for this leg of the race.

Let's go, baby.

Let's go to the travel agent. - Meredith and I

are still making it in this race, it's unbelievable.

Before, I was just hoping to get one more day

out of the way.

Now, my goal is to win the race.

- The man has so many stickers on the windshield,

I don't know how he sees through it.

- This is very dangerous.

[suspenseful music]

- I was thinking that this tourist agency

is probably gonna be closed.

- So we're gonna try to go to a big hotel

and make a call,

and maybe find out if this place is open right now.

- This one here, Chandra. - We'll be back.

Hello, we need to make a phone call

and then see if this tour company's open.

- You're the best.

Are you still open?

Okay, what is the earliest flight I can get

going to Istanbul?

Morning flight, what time?

:, okay, I'm coming now.

Let's get to the travel agent.

- It's open -hours. - We can book

tickets tonight. - We need to go

to Istanbul, Turkey,

as soon as possible. - As soon as-

- [Travel Agent] A direct flight is not available,

but through Delhi, I can do.

You can fly this morning, :.

- Can we have that? - Okay.

[suspenseful music] - Right now, Kelly and I,

and Rob and Amber have purchased tickets

for a : flight to Delhi, and we're on the best flight

that we can find to Istanbul.

And it arrives the next day about : in the morning.

[dramatic music] - Let's go to a hotel.

Hey, Sanju, did you tell the driver where we're going?

Yeah, I can tell him, okay. - Yeah, tell him.

Thank God, 'cause my Hindu's

just not up to par yet. - It's not up to par. [laughs]

[suspenseful music]

- Be back. - Step it up, old man.

Hello, hello.

We have to go to Istanbul.

- There is one morning flight. - Can we get on that?

- :. - We'll take it.

We got some tickets to Turkey,

arriving at : the next day.

Oh, look, there's Uchenna and Joyce.

- You got tickets here?

- We got the best tickets we could get.

- The :? - Yes.

- We're staying up the street at the Chandra Hotel.

- We're gonna go in, get our tickets, and then go back.

- [Gretchen] Okay, we'll wait.

- Hello. - We want to purchase

the same arrangements the other people got.

Thank you.

- If you guys wanna follow us,

we just... - Okay, we'll follow ya.

- Why don't we pay for this, and y'all pay for the room?

- Yeah, let's go. - All right, buddy.

See you later. - Thank you, Sanju.

[suspenseful music]

- We go back to the hotel.

- [Joyce] Uchenna and I are working with

Gretchen and Meredith because they are truly good people.

And so you really wanna help 'em, but at the end of the day,

they're still our competition.

- Thank you. - We bought two more.

- [Gretchen] All right, home sweet home for eight hours.

[dramatic music]

[calm upbeat music]

[dramatic music] - The airport's like

five minutes away. - Yeah.

Two more people come.

- Come on, let's hurry. - Let's go, let's go.

Let's go. - Joyce, you look beautiful.

- Thank you. - We gotta roll.

- Bye. - Bye.

[suspenseful music]

- Airport.

[local speaks in foreign language]

- Let's go. - Let's go.

I'm so over India.

[suspenseful music]

- There it is, right here.

All right, we gotta rush. - Come on, hon.

- Entry. - Let's go, baby.

- Shall we get our boarding pass from you?

- [Staff Member] Yes.

- Thank you very much. - Thank you.

- Two.

Thank you. - Thank you very much.

[suspenseful music]

- [Rob] Indian Airlines.

- [Ron] Come on, babe.

- [Gretchen] There's Rob and Amber.

Guess who's just checking in. - Oh.

[suspenseful music] - Did you guys get on

the earlier flight to Turkey?

- No. [laughs] - No?

Not yet. - At least we know

there's a earlier flight to Turkey.

Did you hear what I said to her?

- To Gretchen?

Yeah. - [laughs] I asked her

if she got on the earlier flight to Turkey.

Just 'cause I wanted to see, number one,

if there was an earlier flight that they know about.

And number two, just to instill a little [laughs]

bit of fear in 'em, "What are they talking about?"

Thank you. Let's go.

We're pretty sure that the fight from Delhi to Istanbul,

we're on the best one already.

[suspenseful music] - Rob just said,

"Did you get on the earlier flight to Turkey?"

- So obviously there's an earlier flight.

[dramatic music] - We need to call Delhi

and get on the early flight to Istanbul.

Will you help us?

We have to dial a travel agent.

[suspenseful music] - Come on, brother.

Aisle seats. - Thank you.

- We're ready to go. [gentle suspenseful music]

- It's ringing. - Oh, thank you very much.

Yes, what is the earliest flight to Istanbul?

An : pm Indian Air flight from Delhi to Dubai,

connecting with a : flight on Turkish Air

from Dubai to Istanbul. [suspenseful music]

And what time would it arrive?

It would arrive at : tomorrow morning?

When I get to Delhi,

I will try to make arrangements to come to you.

Well, thank you very much.

[suspenseful music] - Uchenna was talking about

the : flight. - We have to get

on that flight.

- [Uchenna] It's a really good feeling for Joyce and I,

getting the earlier flight.

And now we have a chance to be first

because everyone's together.

[plane engine roaring] [suspenseful music]

- [Rob] Yo, taxi!

I'm glad to get rid of Ron and Kelly

because they're just slowing us up.

We gotta go to a travel agent

and see if there's anything even sooner.

- Is everybody here? - Yeah.

- Taxi, let's get these tickets

and get squared away. - Let's go.

- Follow him, he knows the way.

- There's a taxi up there. - You see Rob and Amber here?

- [Ron] They were toward the front of the plane.

We're going to find Turkish Airline.

- [Kelly] And we have to hurry.

[gentle suspenseful music] - Wow.

It's amazing, going around the world

and seeing all this different stuff.

And I'm never gonna get a chance to do it again in my life.

It makes me realize, there's really a lotta things

to do in my life before settling down

and having kids and being married.

- I really am not gonna sit around and wait for somebody

to say that everything else in life is more important.

I mean, I'm worth more than that I think.

I'm ready, I wanna be with you,

but obviously you're not there

and I'm not gonna sit and wait anymore.

Your patterns in life

show that you don't make commitments. [laughs]

- You're right, - I don't think

you'll choose that. - I was only committed

to the m*llitary.

- And you got out of that one.

- How did I get out of that one?

- By being a POW, you left

your commitment early. - Oh, yeah, I was, yeah.

What I did is, I crashed myself.

I went through hell and t*rture

so that I could get outta the army early.

I almost d*ed,

but I knew I was getting outta the army early

if I survived it.

I'm not even gonna argue with you about that.

I'm getting sick of fighting all the time.

It just gets old. [dramatic music]

[suspenseful music]

- Right there, right there.

There's a bunch of travel places there.

Come on, baby.

Let's give it a sh*t.

We want to go to Istanbul, Turkey.

Can you tell me what's the quickest flight to get there

that arrives? - Arrives : am.

- We have a reservation on that already.

And nothing gets there earlier?

Even if I go through another city,

it connect? - No, I'm sorry.

- [Rob] We'll see if there's something else.

[dramatic music]

[suspenseful music]

- Okay, we'll be back. - Pull your belly thing down.

- Where is it? Right here. - We called for us

to pick up tickets. - Delhi to Dubai,

Dubai to Istanbul. - [Meredith and Gretchen] Yes.

- [Uchenna] We'll arrive at : tomorrow morning?

- Yes. - Everybody's doing

the same thing.

- Thank you. - Thank you very much.

- Okay, we got tickets, we're outta here.

Come on, Uchenna. - To the airport.

- Thank you, here we go.

We're gonna get on an eight o'clock flight tonight,

connecting through Dubai, getting us into Istanbul,

I believe, at :. - That's a two-hour jump

on the original tickets.

- [Amber] It's Turkish Airline.

- This is it, Kelly. - Let's go.

We can ask them if there's an earlier flight.

Hey, y'all. - Hey, kids.

- [Rob] Is there another airline that leaves

Delhi tonight? - No.

- They said- - What was the airline,

the : that we were looking

at earlier? - I thought he said

Turkish Airline. - Who said that, Uchenna?

Oh, yeah, he has no clue what he's talking about.

- Is there another flight tonight,

Turkish Airlines? - No,

Turkish Airlines flies once,

there's only one flight. - Just straight to Istanbul?

- Straight to Istanbul,

nonstop. - All right.

Is there a flight tomorrow morning

at : in the morning?

- There's no flight for :, only :.

- Thank you for all your help.

It seems like the flight that we have is the best flight.

[suspenseful music]

- [Uchenna] Come on, babe.

- All right.

- Let's go in here. - We don't know

where Amber, Rob, or Ron and Kelly are,

but there weren't too many selections in flights

to get to Istanbul, so feeling good about our choice.

[plane engine roaring] [suspenseful music]

- Come on, babe.

- You see anybody else, babe? - I don't see anybody.

- [Kelly] Let's go find Amber and Rob.

- [Ron] Where's Uchenna and Joyce,

and Meredith and Gretchen?

There's no sight of 'em. - Well, hopefully,

they're on a later flight.

- I'm feeling pretty confident that this is the only flight.

Uchenna and Joyce don't know who to turn to.

- Oh, yeah. - I mean, they're asking

Meredith and Gretchen for advice now.

It's like the blind leading the blinds.

You'd think at , years old, you'd have a clue,

but they don't. - Uchenna is a leach

for information though. - They just coasted

this whole game and just followed other people.

And now this time, they don't have anybody to follow.

So they're stupid.

[dramatic music]

[suspenseful music]

- [Kelly] Ron and I, and Amber and Rob

are going to Istanbul, Turkey,

arriving at : this morning. - Uchenna and Joyce,

and Meredith and Gretchen, they're not on our plane,

and I'm completely confident

we totally just gained the lead.

[plane engine roaring]

- [Phil] All four teams are now on their way

to Istanbul, Turkey.

When they land, they must make their way

to this island lighthouse called Kiz Kulesi,

where they'll find their next clue.

[suspenseful music]

[plane engine roaring]

- [Gretchen] As long as we don't see the red cap up here.

- I've forgot all about

the red cap. - The red cap.

Which way's the train? - Here's the terminal,

downstairs. - Rest your bones, people,

we got a little train ride to go on.

[dramatic music] [train chugging]

[suspenseful music]

Wow, look at that.

- It's beautiful. - This is awesome.

- [Joyce] Uchenna and I have wanted to travel,

that's what we love to do.

So just to be able to see the world

and experience all these adventures together,

it's just amazing.

[suspenseful music]

[train door beeps]

We need to take a ferry to Uskudar.

- [Meredith] Here it is, it's straight ahead.

- Hustle, guys. - Hurry up.

[ferry horn honking] - It's on.

Get the clue and we'll find out what's up.

[ferry horn honking] [suspenseful music]

- [Rob] We gotta move.

Ron and Kelly are just behind us.

- I think we need to go this way.

- Straight ahead, looks like

a train- - It says right here,

Hafif Metro, light rail system.

- [Kelly] Okay.

[suspenseful music] - Which track?

- Go down on the right. - On the right, thank you.

Come on, honey. There it is.

All right, that was worth it to run.

- Ron and Kelly are still back at the airport.

- [Ron] You know which time we're going?

- Relax.

Oh, dang, we missed the freaking train.

[suspenseful music]

- Hurry. - Let's go.

- [Uchenna] There it is, there.

It's that island over there.

- Kiz Kulesi? - Kiz Kulesi?

- Yes. - Thank you.

- [Meredith] Follow me, hon.

- Thank you. - Let's race!

[suspenseful music]

- There's a doorway there on the left.

[suspenseful music] - Come on, baby.

Let's hit that door. - I'm gonna leave my bags.

- [Gretchen] Come on, stay with me.

- Come on, Uchenna. - Two blocks over there.

- Search the island and find a gnome.

- [Phil] Teams must now search this island

for one of these gnomes.

What teams do not know

is that these are Travelocity roaming gnomes

and each one has a marking on the bottom.

The team who chooses the gnome with the airplane marking

and carries it all the way to the Pit Stop

will win a special prize for this leg of the race.

After taking a gnome, teams must make their way

miles to Galata Kulesi Tower.

It is here, they'll find their next clue.

[suspenseful music] - Let's go down and look.

- Watch your step here, Meredith.

Ooh, lots of clues here,

means we're first.

- Search the island to find the gnome.

- [Gretchen] Come on, hon.

- [Uchenna] Okay, I'll get on the outside,

you get on the inside. - Okay.

Okay. - And we're gonna go right

around the edge of this thing.

- [Joyce] Could be in the trashcan.

You looking in the rocks?

- [Uchenna] Yeah, I'm looking in the rocks.

- You wanna go that way or this way?

- Here, let's go this way.

A gnome, a gnome.

Woo-hoo, got one!

[suspenseful music] - Good.

All right, we gotta get back on the ferry.

- Nothing, huh? - Uchenna,

there's one right behind you.

Right there, right there, right there.

Hurry up, hurry up, hurry up.

Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go.

We got a gnome, we got a gnome.

- Woo-hoo. - I know.

- [Uchenna] You guys found it pretty quick.

- Oh, yeah.

We were the first two.

We're here already.

[suspenseful music]

- Let's go. - Thank you.

- Taxi! - We need to go to,

you know? - Oh, Galata Kulesi,

okay. - Okay, we're in a race.

- Meredith, do you have the gnome?

- Yes. - Taxi! Whoo, whoo.

Galata Kulesi. - We're in a big hurry.

[gentle spirited music]

- Oh, this is nice. A lot nicer than India.

- You can actually see like a little bit into the distance.

There's no smog. - Smog.

I feel like I'm at home on the T.

[suspenseful music]

- [Ron] There it is.

Kelly and I know we're behind Amber and Rob right now.

The other teams didn't get on the plane,

so we're hoping that they're behind us.

- Man, he is flying.

- Galata Kulesi. - [Uchenna and Joyce] Ah!

- Come on,

let's go look. - Right here, babe.

- Yay! [laughs]

Detour, Columns or Kilos.

[suspenseful music]

- A Detour is a choice between two tasks,

each with its own pros and cons.

In this detour, teams have to choose between

Columns and Kilos.

In Columns, teams make their way two miles

to Binbirdirek Cistern,

an ancient well held up by columns,

each one displaying a number.

Once there, teams must use a unique grid with coordinates,

directing them to four specific columns.

Then, teams must pull a box from this well,

and using the numbers obtained from the columns,

figure out the correct combination

to unlock their next clue.

In Kilos, teams must travel to this town square

and take part in a common practice

on the streets of Istanbul, weighing people.

They must get their scales from this man.

And once they've weighed enough people

to come to a total weight of , kilograms

or , pounds, they'll get their next clue.

[suspenseful music] - We're gonna try Kilos.

That sounds easier. - Way easier.

Taxi.

- [Joyce] Yeni Camii?

- Okay. - Let's go.

[calm music]

- Who are we gonna call this guy?

- I don't know, Gnome.

- Jerome, Jerome the Gnome.

[suspenseful music]

- Come on baby. - This way, honey.

- That's it? - That's it, let's go.

Let's go. - There's no sight

of Ron and Kelly, let's hope that they don't make this one.

- Oh, they're closing the door.

I think we got a big enough lead right now.

We don't wanna overdo it.

[Amber laughs] [dramatic music]

[suspenseful music]

- Yeni Camii. - This is it.

Come on, babe. - We gotta find

the man with the scales.

He could be anywhere.

- [Uchenna] There, the scales.

Hello. - You'll pick one scale.

- [Joyce] Just pick one, so we gotta find someone to weigh.

- Hello, please, we just get your weight.

Ah, sir, please, sir, please, please, please,

please, come on, come on. [Joyce laughs]

- How much? - .

- [Joyce] All right, we need , kilos.

We need some heavy people. - Please, please, we need you.

Thank you very much, sir.

- . - Yes.

No, no, no, keep your coat on.

- , thank you. - Good one, [clapping]

good one. - Whoo!

Good, good, good. - Yes, !

Thank you. - .

- Excellent, [clapping] thank you very much.

- . - Thank you.

- Thank you. - How are you doing?

- We're getting there. [suspenseful music]

- Oh my God, Meredith, it's way up there, whoo!

- [Meredith] Gretchen, we're not even positive this is it.

- It says Galata Tower. - Huh?

- I guess you go to the very top.

Z, what's Z?

Where do we go? - Push ,

I have to believe it's up there.

- [Gretchen] Oh my God.

- Let's look outside. [Gretchen cheers]

- Are you looking for a clue,

Meredith? - Yes, I am.

[exhales sharply] Man, this is hard.

- If I passed it, I'm gonna be very upset.

Maybe it's downstairs on the outside.

We are losing so much time.

[suspenseful music]

- We're close. We're so close.

Oh my God, honey. - I need one man.

- One. Can you, please? - Will you, please?

Competition. [helper laughs]

Ah, I hold it for you.

I hold it for you. - [laughs] I wish, yeah.

- . - We got it.

[suspenseful music] - We gotta take it back

to this guy, come on, babe. - Okay.

- This is okay. - Okay.

- So it's okay? - Yes, thank you.

Thank you. - Yeah!

Make your way to Rumeli Hisari.

[suspenseful music] - Teams must now

make their way miles

to this -year-old European fortress, Rumeli Hisari.

It is here where they'll find their next clue.

- We need a cab.

[car horn honks] [Uchenna whistles]

- [Uchenna] Let's move out.

[calm upbeat music]

- Aye, aye, aye.

Do you have it? - I don't have anything.

- [Gretchen] Come on, why do we have so much trouble

with things like this?

[suspenseful music] [Meredith sighs]

- Hon, I don't know.

- We'll try one more time? - Yeah, try one more time.

Come on. - Oh, God.

Why don't we see things? - I don't know.

- [Gretchen] Oh, here we are, again.

- [Meredith] There it is.

- Where? - Right after

the entrance way, come on,

let's get back. - Oh, what a waste of time.

[suspenseful music]

Oh, for God's sakes.

- All right, Detour. - Detour.

Let's do this Kilos. - Kilos.

Taxi.

- [Gretchen] What a waste.

[suspenseful music]

- [Rob] That's it, baby, right there.

Keep your eyes open for the flags and stuff.

Let's go, come on.

This Kiz Kulesi? - Yes.

- Thank you. [suspenseful music]

- Come on, baby. - Okay, let's go.

- This is it, Kelly. - We're in second place

right now, we gotta catch up. - Let's go.

[suspenseful music]

- How many teams come so far?

- Two teams. - Oh my God.

Two teams already? - Two teams?

- Damn.

What time? - Eight.

- Eight in the morning? - Eight in the morning, yeah.

- They got a : am flight somehow.

- [Amber] I thought we've been in the lead this entire time.

- Unbelievable. [dramatic suspenseful music]

[gentle suspenseful music]

- [Amber] I thought we've been in the lead this entire time.

- Unbelievable. This is a huge mistake.

[suspenseful music] Let's go.

It's this way. Come on, honey.

We gotta hurry. There it is, honey.

Find a gnome.

What's a gnome? - It's like a little statue.

Come on, let's just run around. [panting]

- What is a gnome? - I think it's like

a little statue.

Here it is! [suspenseful music]

Okay, good. - Be careful, don't break it.

Okay, go.

You know Galata Kulesi?

- It's in Uskudar.

- Yeah. - The one we just came on.

- So first the boat, then a taxi?

We gotta go back to the boat.

Come on, honey.

[suspenseful music]

- That's the place we're going right there, Kiz Kulesi.

We gotta go. - I don't see Rob and Amber.

- [Ron] Hopefully, we can even up.

[suspenseful music]

- Galata Kulesi, what time?

- . - Now? Let's go.

- [Amber] We're gonna have to work hard to keep our lead

on Ron and Kelly.

[suspenseful music]

- Let's go, let's go.

Not seeing Rob and Amber here makes me a little nervous.

I mean, maybe we b*at them here somehow by miracle.

- Come on, baby. - Let's go.

[suspenseful music]

- [Amber] What are you looking at?

- There's Ron and Kelly.

We got a little advantage here, let's keep it.

[suspenseful music]

- [Ron] Hurry, hurry, hurry.

- Find a gnome.

The last clue. - We're the last ones here.

- We're looking for a gnome.

- There's one. - Good job, baby.

Come on, let's go.

Gotta take it with us the whole way.

Come on, we got a lotta catching up to do.

- Okay. - This is kind of a nightmare.

We could be eliminated.

- Let's go. Let's go.

Taxi, taxi.

Galata Kulesi. - Let's go.

- Maybe this will be faster than waiting on the ferry.

- I hope so.

[suspenseful music]

- Right there, right there. - Oh, right there.

Right there, right there. - Right there.

Thank you. - Let's go.

- [Joyce] We gotta go fast.

Okay. - We gotta hurry.

- Roadblock, is climbing your forte?

[suspenseful music]

- A Roadblock is a task that only one person may perform.

In this Roadblock,

that person has to storm this ancient fortress.

First, they'll have to climb a -foot rope ladder,

and then make their way to the top of this tower

to get a key.

Finally, they must repel back down to the courtyard

and unlock their next clue.

- I'll climb it.

Be right back, baby. - Good luck, honey.

- All right, let's do it. [suspenseful music]

No problem.

- Oh, I'm so glad it's him climbing, not me.

[suspenseful music]

- [Uchenna] Yeah!

- Uchenna, where are you?

- Moving right along.

Come on. [breathing heavily]

Keep moving, come on.

Almost there.

Find a key.

Use your head, think, think, think, think, think.

- All right, eyes peeled, eyes peeled.

Where is it?

[gentle suspenseful music]

- Thank you.

We have to find our way to the man with scales.

- Is that a scale? - No.

We need a big scale.

Scales.

Scales.

- What are you doing, hun? [wings flapping]

- [Gretchen] I'm looking to see if there's a man

with scales here. - Gretchen,

all right, let's go in here. - Okay, okay.

Scales. Oh, God.

Where is he?

[suspenseful music]

- It could be anywhere. Come on!

Ah, there it is.

Unbelievable.

Hey, hey!

I got the key. [breathing heavily]

I'm ready to repel.

- Climbing is so not my forte.

I'm glad Uchenna chose it.

[dramatic suspenseful music]

- Oh my God.

[gentle spirited music]

[Uchenna cheering]

Yeah! [laughs]

- Come on, where are you?

- This is it, this is it.

Come on, come on.

Yeah, I got it. Yeah!

The Pit Stop. - Teams must now search

the interior of this fortress

and find this scenic overlook of the Bosporus.

This is the ninth pit stop in a race around the world.

The last team to check in here, may be eliminated.

- Where's my princess? - Uchenna, Uchenna,

are you here, are you here? - Yes, baby, come on.

We're going to the Pit Stop

right now. - Okay, cool, cool, yay!

Good job, honey, good job.

[suspenseful music]

- Come on, hurry, baby.

[panting] Okay, Phil.

- Welcome to Istanbul, Turkey.

- Thank you, sir. - Thank you.

- Uchenna and Joyce,

- Tell us.

- you're team number one.

[both cheering]

- Good job. [gentle spirited music]

You did amazing!

- [Phil] I understand you guys have a gnome to hand into me.

- He's in good condition [panting] and smiling.

- If this gnome has a little plane on the bottom,

you're gonna get a great prize from Travelocity.

- Well? [suspenseful music]

- I'm sorry to tell you, - Ah!

- you have not won the prize, [gentle spirited music]

but you guys are team number one, second time in a row.

You guys feel confident?

- We do feel confident. - We feel good, we feel good.

Yes. - And we're happy to be here

in first place,

- Exactly. - prize or no prize,

we're having fun. - Yeah.

[dramatic music]

[gentle suspenseful music]

- Scales. - There he is.

- [Gretchen] Oh, for God's sakes.

Hello. - Hello.

- We need some people! - Go get 'em, hun.

[calm upbeat music]

- We need people big. Please, help us.

Yeah, a big man, we want grande people.

Good, Superman.

- - Big man. Whoo!

Come here.

And? - Oh, here's a good guy.

- . - .

Next big man. - Yes, good man.

- Ooh, that's a grande. - I need someone big.

Thank you, here we go.

- . - We still need a lot.

[suspenseful music]

- [Amber] There's a taxi up to the left.

- [Rob] Taxi!

For Galata Kulesi.

Could we have taken the taxi from that other place

we were at? - I hope not.

- What's the Galata Kulesi,

just an hour? - I don't know.

I'm just worried about fast right now.

We're about to lose if we're last.

[suspenseful music]

- Yay, big people in here!

Good one!

, good, good!

, that's a light weight.

Come on, you can go.

Yes, thank you.

- . - Okay, we better add up.

Oh, my. - We got it, we got it.

We got it. - It's good!

Yay! - Yes!

Make your way to Rumeli Hisari.

We got a cab over here. Let's go.

[suspenseful music]

- Let's go. - We have to hurry.

- Ah, there it is, right in front of us.

Detour. Wanna do the scale thing?

- Yes. - Let's go.

- [Amber] We could do the scale really quickly.

- Go to the store. [dramatic music]

Yeni Camii? - Yeni Camii?

- Do you know this? - No.

Now we gotta find it.

[suspenseful music]

- Galata Kulesi. - Get out and take off.

- Which way? - I don't know.

- Sir? - Sir, which way?

It's up there. - This is it, right here.

- Are you sure? - He said, "Run up

the stairs," I hope we did the right thing.

- [Ron] Hopefully, there's a clue up there.

- I hope this is right. - I don't see anything.

- This is not right. - I know,

that's what I was trying to say.

- [Kelly] Well, what do you want me to do, Ron?

- [Ron] [laughs] Not rush to conclusions.

- Let's keep looking. [dramatic music]

[suspenseful music]

- Do you know you Yeni Camii? - Yeni Camii is in Eminonu.

- How far, taxi or walk? - I say walk.

One kilometer. - One kilometer, this way?

- Yes. - Thank you.

Let's go. [suspenseful music]

- [Ron] Gonna me a marked entrance, or something.

- See if you can see anything, there it is, down there.

- Come on. - It is so frustrating.

- [Ron] That's why we should never have went up here.

- [Kelly] Well, didn't say, "No, Kelly, I think

we should go outside. - What do you think I did?

- [Kelly] You didn't say I think we should go outside.

- Oh, okay, you're right. - You didn't.

- You're right. [suspenseful music]

- What do you want me

to do about it? - I said everything's right.

This feels completely right. - It's my fault,

it's my fault, completely my fault.

Take the clue, take over then. - Okay, I'll play this game

by myself from now on. [suspenseful music]

Kelly, come on.

- Columns or Kilos? - Columns.

This is probably gonna be the easiest one.

There's a taxi right over there.

All right, let's go, go, go, go.

We're even farther behind now.

[gentle suspenseful music]

- Ron and Kelly, and Rob and Amber

have not been seen since we arrived.

- We're just gonna hope that we get on the mat

before they do, which would be a great feeling.

[dramatic suspenseful music]

- We shoulda taken a taxi, it's stupid for us to walk.

Here it is, here it is, here it is, here it is.

- What's up, buddy? - Grab.

- Grab a scale. - We'll grab this one.

Okay? - Okay.

[calm upbeat music] Sir, please?

. - .

- Come on, everybody. .

Next. Get everybody in line.

Come on, please.

. Okay, next.

. Come on.

- . - .

- Oh, oh. - Oh, [laughs] yeah, yeah.

Nevermind. [Amber laughs]

. This is not gonna be a problem for us.

[suspenseful music]

- I'm not mad at you.

- Well, I'm not mad at you either.

I'm just mad about the whole thing.

- All right, we should've known better.

Okay, there it is, over there.

Come on, babe.

We have to go and find these columns using a grid system.

Wow, look at this.

- [Kelly] I think we start right there.

- Yeah, so H-.

So this would be H, so this would be four,

that would be five, this is zero.

[gentle suspenseful music]

Okay, now we need I-. [suspenseful music]

So if this is H,

I-, seven, eight, one.

We need K-.

So that'd be J, K-, ,

three.

- Okay, then what? - Then we need a L-.

This is it, six.

- Okay. - Okay.

Now we gotta pull the box out of the well.

[suspenseful music] - There it is,

right there. - It's right there.

Uh-oh, this doesn't look good.

Oh my God, Meredith.

- Is climbing your forte?

You wanna try it?

[Gretchen groans] [dramatic music]

- So I'll try it. See ya. - Okay.

Good luck. - Just say a prayer.

- Gretchen has a lot of determination

and I think she'll make it, I just hope that she's okay.

[suspenseful music] [Gretchen grunting]

- Whoa.

Uh-oh, it's not as easy as it looks.

[calm upbeat music] - .

Hop on there, bud. , good job.

Where are you, babe? - ,,

after that. - Okay, okay, let's go.

So we got more than enough. [suspenseful music]

- Yeah. - Thank you.

- Thank you. - Make your way

to Rumeli Hisari.

Right there's a taxi.

Okay, let's go.

[suspenseful music]

- Over here. - Zero, one, six, three

are our numbers.

Hurry, Ron. Hurry, Ron. - I got it.

Now we just gotta do it in different combinations.

We need to figure out what it is.

- Zero, one, six, three.

- Okay. - Zero, six, three, one.

- Okay, next one. - Zero, one, three, six.

- No. - Six, three, O, one.

- [Ron] Okay.

Hold on. Whoo, whoo! - You go, good job!

- Make your way to Rumeli Hisari.

Okay, let's get it.

- [Kelly] Please, hurry. Good job with the grid.

- Brother can use a map, can't nobody doubt that. [laughs]

[gentle suspenseful music]

- Oh, Mama Mia.

[exhales sharply] This is hard.

[breathing heavily] I don't have the energy.

Oh, my legs are k*lling me.

Oh, God, I'm in trouble.

Big trouble.

[suspenseful music]

[Gretchen grunts]

[groans] My upper body strength is not very good.

- My guess is she's having a rough time on that rope ladder.

She's tough, she'll get up there some way.

- [groans] How do I do this?

Be stronger. [grunts]

Whoo, almost there.

[grunts] Come on, girl.

[Gretchen groaning]

[grunting] Good.

A -year-old lady shouldn't be doing things like this.

Come on, keep going.

[suspenseful music]

- [Amber] I'm hoping Ron and Kelly are still behind us,

and they could have passed us up.

- [Rob] I don't know, babe, we'll see.

[suspenseful music]

- Your next clue's at the front gate.

- [Kelly] We need to hurry.

[suspenseful music]

- Must be right in here.

Oh, for God's sakes.

Oh.

Oh my God, where is a key?

Here, key.

Over there.

That's a key. Here we go, again.

Oh my God, I have to repel down this.

[suspenseful music] Oh, no.

[groaning] Oh my God.

Oh, whoopee!

Whoo!

I'm almost there.

Oh, boy.

Oh! - You can do it.

Come on, babe. - Okay.

Just have to unlock one of these books, and I've got it.

Congratulations, search the fortress for the next Pit Stop.

Can you let my husband in?

Come on in. - You're not a sight

for sore eyes. [Gretchen laughs]

Come on, babes.

There's Phil on the mat, come on.

- Meredith and Gretchen, - Yes?

- you're team number two. [gentle spirited music]

- Phew. [Meredith laughs]

We haven't made two. - We did.

- There's a little gnome that you guys

were gonna bring to me.

- He sure enjoyed the trip. - There.

- If this gnome has a plane on the bottom,

you will have won a nice prize,

- [Gretchen] Ooh.

- but it doesn't have the plane.

Unfortunately, you have not won the Travelocity prize.

However, you are team number two

and you guys are still in "The Amazing Race."

- Oh, we're so proud of ourselves, we really are.

We have been hanging by our nails

often because of mistakes made by other teams,

but this time, we made it on our own power

and that feels great.

[suspenseful music]

- We're going, sorry? - It's up here,

that's where we're going.

- [Rob] Thank you. There's a clue box.

- [Amber] Honey, we have to hurry.

- Roadblock. - Is climbing

your for- - Your forte?

Yeah, I should do it.

This way. Here it is, baby. [gentle suspenseful music]

[groans] Let's go.

[suspenseful music]

- Good job, baby!

Woo-hoo! Good job, baby.

Okay, I'm gonna round front.

- That was good. [suspenseful music]

- [Kelly] That's it up there.

Okay, let's go. - Come on, Kel.

- Is climbing your forte? You.

- [Ron] There's Amber.

Ah, sh**t. Let's go. - Hurry, Ron. Hurry, Ron.

Hopefully, they drop their gnome somewhere. [chuckles]

[gentle suspenseful music]

- [Rob] Gotta be here.

It has to be here.

[suspenseful music]

- You know what you're doing? - Yeah.

- [Kelly] Honey, you can do it.

- Golly. - Catch up with Rob, babe.

- I'm trying. - All right, baby.

You got it.

[suspenseful music]

- Ah, there it is, all right.

This is the key.

[gentle suspenseful music]

Okay, let's go.

- [Ron] Oh, man.

- Hey. - Hey.

[suspenseful music]

- [Rob] Whoo! Yeah!

Whoo!

Woo-hoo!

Wow!

- Keep going. - Ooh, what a ride.

Okay, yay.

[suspenseful music]

- I need a key.

[gentle suspenseful music] - Coming, baby.

Come on.

Come on.

- [Ron] What the heck? I don't see it.

- You got it. Baby! - Yeah.

- Come on, come in here! - You did it!

- We're going to the Pit Stop. [suspenseful music]

We just barely escaped. - Whoa!

- [Ron] Ah, dang it!

[suspenseful music]

- Rob and Amber,

you're team number three.

It's very close competition,

of course, you can see Ron over there on the other tower.

- Ron and Kelly have pretty much been a couple minutes

behind us the whole entire time, they're tough competition.

And I'm glad we're ahead of them.

- Do you have your gnome?

- We do have our gnome.

There he is.

- If you guys have a plane on the bottom of your gnome,

then you will have won a trip.

- Is there a plane? - Unfortunately,

you do not have the plane. - Oh, a train.

- Oh! [gentle spirited music]

- The good news is, - Uh-huh?

- you guys are team number three

and you're still in "The Amazing Race."

- Thank you. - All right, good enough.

We made a stupid mistake today,

we missed a flight and that's why

we're sitting here in third.

So next leg, we won't miss that flight, end of story.

[gentle suspenseful music]

- I can't believe that. - Come on, hurry up.

[gentle suspenseful music continues]

- Come on, baby. - I don't want this

to be over. - This is it.

- Ron and Kelly, [gentle pensive music]

you're the last team to arrive.

I'm pleased to tell you, however,

this is a non-elimination leg,

and you guys are both still in "The Amazing Race."

[dramatic music] - Thank God.

[Kelly sighs]

- But there is some bad news.

I need you to hand over all your money.

In addition to taking all your money,

I'm gonna take all your possessions

except for the clothes on your back and for your passports.

So please hand over your bags.

These are your two bags?

When you start the next leg of the race,

you'll not be receiving any money and you need to start

the next leg of the race with $ to your name.

- Okay.

- It's been a whole lotta bad news,

but there could be some good news.

Did you guys bring the gnome for me?

- He still in one piece. - All right.

If your gnome has the plane on the bottom,

you will have won a great prize from Travelocity.

- Okay. - Please be it.

- Oh, my, please. - Whoo! [laughs] Yeah!

- Congratulations, Ron and Kelly.

Now, because you have this gnome,

you've won the grand prize, $, to spend on Travelocity.

That's enough to keep your adventures going

long after "The Amazing Race" ends.

Now, in addition, for the next hours,

while everybody else is sitting in on the Pit Stop,

you guys are going to a first-class suite

at the Four Seasons Hotel,

where you'll have a chance to browse online for your trip.

[Ron and Kelly laughing] Congratulations.

- Whoo, thanks, Travelocity. - Thank you.

- I am kind of nervous about the relationship side

of Ron and I, but when it comes down to it,

we're a team and I wanna win.

- [Ron] Kelly and I are down to nothing

but the clothes on our back.

It's gonna be difficult.

If we start disintegrating our communications

and you're gonna see our team disintegrate,

then we'll be eliminated. [calm music]

- [Phil] Stay tuned for scenes from our next episode.

[dramatic music] On the next episode

of "The Amazing Race,"

[suspenseful music] - Oh!

- Uchenna helps Meredith and Gretchen

with a difficult Detour.

- [Uchenna] Meredith and Gretchen are good people, man,

I hate to see 'em break their backs like this.

- [Phil] And the Roadblock

drives teams crazy. - Ah, tight! I'm sorry.

[Meredith grunts] - Ah!

- [Ron] Ah, it's like teaching women how to drive.

- I can't understand what the hell you're saying!

[dramatic music]

[gentle suspenseful music]

[gentle suspenseful music continues]
