[upbeat music]

STEVEN, SR: I am just
so blessed to have four boys

that all are actively
involved in the family ranch.

COLE: Steven,
what are you doing?

Come on!

- Steven thinks he can
run the farm better than me.

- I should
have stayed in the office.

STEVEN, SR:
Someday one of the boys

is gonna have to
take over the farm.

I'm just not sure
who that's gonna be.

- We just
need those main things

and finalize the--
the financials.

- I just
don't even know where

we would be without Galyna.

We would certainly not be
working on $105 million loan.

- I can spoil
you and give you a massage

and make you just feel good.

- Yeah, yeah.

You look great.

You look fantastic.
[ON] BROOKE: Oh, thank you.

-
I'm ready to party.

- I bet you are.

- Is this my vehicle?

Who the f*ck totaled my car?

- Your
dad's side chick

wrecked his main chick's car?

- Only Steve McBee.

JESSE: Out of every
vehicle we have here, though,

it had to be that one?
[theme song]

[SINGING] When the devil comes.

- I made
a split-second decision.

- To take
care of your whore.

I'm not putting up with that.

It's-- it's-- it's her or
I. There is no other way.

It's her or I.

STEVEN, SR.: Well,
you used your ultimatum up.

- I know that she
probably has a grip hold on you

right now.

Obviously, Steve,
we're not gonna be

able to see each other anymore.

- Well,
my handsome man, you

ready to turn off the lights?

[theme song]

[SINGING] When the devil comes.

[upbeat music]

STEVEN: Keep coming.

Right there.

- That'll work.

Creating an alleyway.

Block this off.

STEVEN: Hey, we need to
get the bison from this pasture

over there to that corral.

JESSE: Oh, they
got a little gate?

COLE: Oh, yeah.

Come on, muscles,
let me help ya.

- Don't hurt
your back there, big guy.

- I don't
need no help, bitch.

- That thing's
heavy, ain't it?

- It's a little
heavier than I thought.

Cole, you're gonna stand
right here behind this gate.

JESSE: And just hold it.
[OFF] COLE: I am.

Me and Jesse are, right here.

[laughs]

- Currently we have

For me specifically, I want
to get our herd above 300

so we can start butchering
some of these animals,

selling a lot of the
meat, selling the skins,

selling the skulls.

Don't let 'em see you and
make sure everyone's out.

COLE: Here it goes.

STEVEN: There may be
buffalo all over the street.

STEVEN, SR.: Cole,
I'd scoot back a little.

- Yeah,
that gap there is--

- Let's
get the first ones through.

STEVEN: To me,
the bison is where

we are going to make our money.

There are so many
people that want

the lean meat from the bison.

I just have to get our herd
to the size we need it to be.

[bison bellowing]

STEVEN, SR.: Holy cow.

STEVEN: Is
that all of them?

COLE: Oh,
one more, Steven.

[laughter]

COLE: Dude, Steven
about sh*t his pants.

- I did.

[upbeat music]

[music playing]
All I do is slay.

Slay all day.

Slaying anything and
anyone that's in my way.

You just good, but I'm so great.

Do whatever it takes.

All I do is slay.

Slay all day.

Slaying anything and
anyone that's in my way.

You just good, but I'm so great.

- What up?

- Hello.

How was your flight?

- Not too bad.

You smell so good.

- Do I?

- Yeah.

- Thanks.

- I see
that Steven let you

take the G. Love that for us.

KACIE: I know.

I called Cole today.

I was like, will you ask
Steven if I can take it

shopping last-- or next week.

And he was like, you
want to take it shopping?

I'm like, yeah.

- Well, yeah, duh.

KACIE: Yeah.

I'm so glad to have you back.

- Are you?
[ON] KACIE: Yeah.

- Did you miss me?
[ON] KACIE: I did.

- Please tell
me I'm your favorite.

- You are.

- Steven and I
have been great lately.

And so, we both decided
it would be good for me

to spend a little bit more
time up here at the farm

so we can have
more time together.

KACIE: It's just
different when you're around.

CALAH: Yeah,
I'm happy to be back.

KACIE: 'Cause
Cole says you're, like,

the bad influence on
me, and then, like,

Allie is the good influence.

- I'm
the bad influence?

I mean, I kind of am.

- I'm not
as tame around you.

- I'm, like, the
devil on your shoulder.

- Yeah.

- Both
the Alys and Kacie

I've gotten along
with really well,

and we always have fun
when we're together.

How are you and Cole?

- Oh, I
feel like we've been

together almost five years.

And, like, we have rocky
stuff in our relationship,

but we always go
back to each other.

- So it's really
nice to be super close

with the other girlfriends.

Also, I heard about Brooke
crashing Galyna's car.

- The full
f*cking front of my vehicle

is destroyed.

-
I was just trying

to help solve a situation.

- I saw
the text messages.

- Was she being crazy?
[ON] CALAH: She's f*cking--

she was pissed.

I respect Steve
in a lot of ways.

I think Steve is, like,
very business-minded.

I respect him a sh*t ton for,
like, starting from nothing

and, like, growing his
businesses into what it is.

But relationship-wise,
he's not a good influence.

KACIE: No, and their dad
has a huge influence on them.

CALAH: Huge influence.

Like, don't y'all want, like,
to be married and, like,

have a family?

Like, you can do that
and still be happy.

I think, like, from what they've
witnessed growing up and then,

like, how their dad is
now, it's like they don't

think that they can have both.

- This
family and the drama.

Like--
[OFF] CALAH: I can't.

It's something new every day.

I really can't keep up.

It's crazy.

[music playing] I got me.

I got me.

Get on your horse
and ride it on me.

Yeah, I got me.

Don't need you anymore.

I got me.

- Oh,
happy Father's Day.

- Holy.

CALAH: Wow.
[OFF] GALYNA: You like it?

STEVEN: That looks good.
I love lemon.

-
Thank you so much.

I know you always
go above and beyond.

- This is the
first time I will be spending

the entire Father's
Day with Steve,

and all the boys are coming.

- Oh, my gosh.

This looks amazing.

- Thank you.

So a big day.

I'm very, very excited about it.

This is a pudding,
lemon pudding.

- Wow.

- Because your
dad likes lemon stuff.

STEVEN: Ah.

STEVEN, SR.:
Things have been very

awkward since the car wreck.

Again, that was a terrible
decision on my behalf.

You know, I wish I could
take it back, but I can't.

I just got to deal with
it and move forward.

I think that, you know, I--

I don't know.

I mean, it's-- it's always
a challenge to get to that

point where everything's right.

- We
would have cooked

for you since it is Father's
Day, but we feel like--

STEVEN, SR.: Yeah.

- --that
would-- that would

have made you more upset
than you cooking yourself.

- That's right.

I would rather cook myself,
and then I get what I want.

- Mm-hmm.

- You guys
want to go sit outside?

We can bring all that stuff
outside or make plates.

- Is
Cole coming or no?

- Yeah, they're--

they should be here any minute.

- OK.

Will you get my sunglasses
out of the bathroom

on the counter, Galyna?

- Yep.

- Thank you.

Let's see what kind
of temperature I got.

Damn, 400.

COLE: What's up?

- Oh.

What's happening?

- Hi.

- What up?
How are you?

- Good.
How are you?

- Good.

- Those are
some pink shorts, man.

- What?
[ON] JESSE: What?

- You don't like 'em?

JESSE: You
trying to match Kacie?

- This is my first
Father's Day with Galyna

around and not just us.

- We can sit in
that thingy because it's shady.

- I feel weird
whenever she's in positions

that my mom was usually at.

GALYNA: Those steaks
look so freaking good.

- The boys have
something special for you.

They wanted you to come over.

- Shotgun a drink.

KACIE: Shotgun.

Happy Father's Day, Dad.

COLE: He's so
proud of you guys.

-
I didn't realize

it was that kind of party.

- 3, 2, 1.

JESSE: I'm sure he's just
the proudest dad out there.

- [laughs]

- From all of us.
[OFF] COLE: Wow.

- I went
shopping today.

STEVEN, SR.: Oh,
I'll use that, for sure.

- Mm-hmm,
the cowboy hat rack.

- That's nice.

CALAH: For--
[ON] STEVEN, SR.: My new hat.

CALAH: Your new hat.

-
With our brand on it.

- Mm-hmm.
[ON] CALAH: And turn it around.

-
Oh, and my initials.

STEVEN: 7 and 1/4.

CALAH: Oh.

- I like it.

It's too big.

- No!

I'm usually 7 and 3/8.
[ON] CALAH: He has a big head.

COLE: That's convenient.

- It just
happens to fit me perfectly.

STEVEN, SR.: I can see.

- And
your initials are--

[ON] Wow.
[ON] CALAH: Are you serious?

- I did--

I didn't mean to.

- [laughs]

- All
right, obviously, I

think that one of the things
that means the most to all

of us boys is that
you have supported

us in any idea we've ever had,
any business we've ever had.

You tell us that we can take
on any single thing in life.

- As kids, you--

you sacrificed your
time for us and went

to every single practice every
single week for all four of us.

And I don't even
want to know how

many hours that added up to.

- You would
always get down and get

dirty, no matter what it is, and
work harder than anybody there.

I don't think
there's anybody out

there that has had
as good of an example

as we do for work ethic.

- Yeah,
well, thank y'all.

You know, being a father is
probably the most rewarding

experience in-- in life.

Those are my children.

I created those children.

So it's-- it's my job to make
sure that I take care of them,

protect them.

I just want to prevent
them from making

the same mistakes that I've
made, as I think every parent

does for their child.

You know I love you guys.
[ON] ALL: We love you, too.

- We love you.

- I spent an
overwhelming amount of time

with the older three,
Steven, Jesse, and Cole.

- Love you.
[ON] STEVEN, SR.: Yeah.

Love you, bud.

When they would come to
the farm every weekend,

Brayden wouldn't come a lot
because he was so much younger.

So I would say
that it definitely

is a complicated situation.

I love you, son.

- I love my dad,
but I grew up with my mom.

I was with my mom full time.

I never came up to the
farm to work up here.

I never wanted to work
up here full time at all.

I kind of didn't
necessarily have, like,

a fallout with my dad.

I just wasn't quite
as close with him.

- Do we
want to eat out here?

GALYNA: Yes.

COLE: I think
we eat out here.

It's nice.

[upbeat music]

STEVEN, SR.: Kind
of medium or medium rare?

GALYNA: Medium.

STEVEN, SR.: OK.

Get down.

- Very good.

I like it.

It's a good steak.

-
Has Steven talked

to you about the Montana trip?

We're going to where we got
the bison the first time.

- Mm-hmm.

- And we're
gonna fish on the river

that night right there in
the Yellowstone National

Park on the reservation.

It's gonna be a
pretty crazy deal.

- It does
sound pretty cool.

STEVEN, SR.: One of them
once-in-a-lifetime type deals.

- My dad
loves all of us boys,

and I know that my
dad wants a better

relationship with Brayden.

He talks about it all the
time, but there are some times

where it's pretty strained.

- What's
your schedule like?

Would you be able
to get off for that?

- I don't
know if I plan on going.

I might.

- OK.

I never wanted the boys to have
to deal with a divorced family,

and I never wanted
to fail the family.

And I never wanted
a broken family.

But you got to make good
decisions for that to happen.

And obviously, I
didn't make, you know,

all the right decisions.

All right, then.

[music playing] Love.

I'm gonna keep on going
hard till it's all mine.

Won't stop until I am the
greatest one of all time.

I'm the GOAT.

I'm the GOAT.

I'm the GOAT.

I'm the GOAT.

[off] CALAH: What
are you going to hit?

STEVEN: Biceps.
[OFF] CALAH: Of course.

STEVEN: Curls for the girls.

[SINGING] I'm the GOAT,
greatest of all time.

- What up?
[OFF] STEVEN: What's up, dude?

- What's up?

- Whoa, we
already got a sweat going.

- I've already
been k*lling back and body.

- Where's Kacie at?

COLE: Work.

CALAH: How
have things been?

COLE: We've been getting
a lot more serious here

the last week or two.

- You have?
[ON] COLE: We have been.

We been doing good.

- So what happened
in Forth Worth then?

STEVEN, SR.: There's Cole.

Oh, snap.

- Things change
quickly around here.

CALAH: What is
that supposed to mean?

STEVEN: I'm
referring to, like, crops

and sometimes relationships.

It can go from really
good to really bad.

CALAH: That's true.

[upbeat music]

STEVEN: Where's Kacie at?

COLE: Work.

CALAH: How
have things been?

COLE: We've been
getting a lot more serious

here in the last week or two.

Wow, look at that.

- I'm impressed.

- You
should be jealous.

- Jealous, happy.

I think it's a little hot.

We've been doing good.

- So what
happened in Fort Worth then?

- I probably should
have been a hair better,

but I'm pretty proud of
myself for the decision

I was able to make while
I'm completely blacked out.

- Because you
didn't go home with her?

[laughs]

- I can't say no.

- No, you can.

- I can't.

JESSE: You can.

You can say no.

- Just go, just
go, just go, just go.

I honestly don't think there's
a person in this world who would

have said no and
not left and went

home by themselves completely
blacked out like that.

- There better
be one person in this world

that would have said no.

COLE: I just feel like I'm
not getting any props for that,

and it kind of bothers me.

- For not
sleeping with the girl?

What do you want, a
round of applause?

- I would like one
because I'm getting screamed

at for meeting a girl at a bar.

- Here's
what I think, honestly.

Kacie is about one
of the only women

that can put up with Cole when
it comes to hunting, farming.

And I think that's
what Cole needs.

-
Literally, everything

that Cole is, Kacie--

STEVEN: Is.

- --is as well.

STEVEN: Like,
y'all are so similar.

COLE: I do
agree with that a lot.

It's going in the
right direction

to become more serious.

- Just knowing
Kacie and how things have gone

in the past, I think there's
a timeline on it where

that window is
about to close, and

whether it's you
or someone else,

she's gonna end up with someone.

- Lock it down.

[SINGING] My old man told
me, son, it's in our veins.

Said you were born
around midnight

and you ain't ever gonna change.

- It's a

Make sure you guys switch
out when you get tired.

STEVEN: We've got a

to get out to Montana to get
to the Flathead Reservation

and start corralling
our herd of bison

that we're bringing
back home to the farm.

-
Let's head out.

- All
right, let's do it.

[upbeat music]

STEVEN: There is not much
signal once we get out there.

Did you guys warn the girls?

- I decided that
would probably be best to wait.

I'm like, hey, by the way, I'm--

- By
the way, no signal.

Love you, bye.
[ON] JESSE: Bye.

STEVEN: Have you
told Kacie that, Cole?

- Yeah, I
told them that we'd

be up in the mountains.

Signal will be scarce.

I ain't hiking to the top.

STEVEN: How
did they handle that?

Are they good with y'all going?

- Yeah,
they don't care.

- No issues?

- Have you told Calah?

- Yeah, I told her.

I told her.

I think that she's gonna
plan something with the girls

this weekend.

I don't know what.

[upbeat music]

- I can
barely open my eyes.

JIMMY: It sure would be
nice to get up every morning

and look at those.

JESSE: Man, look at this.

- We made it, boys.

COLE: We're here.

STEVEN: Boy, you are out
here in no man's land, though.

COLE: My first
impression is the views--

the river, the mountains.

I've never seen
anything like it,

and we definitely do not
have these views in Missouri.

STEVEN: Look at this.

Dude, this is so cool.

[groan]

That's a lot of time.

What's going on?
How are you?

CODY: Good.
[OFF] STEVEN: Cody?

CODY: Yes, sir.
[OFF] STEVEN: Awesome, man.

I'm Steven McBee.

COLE: Steven, good
to meet you, brother.

- This
is quite the setup.

- Yeah?
[ON] STEVEN: This is awesome.

- How's it going, man?
I'm Jesse.

Nice to meet you.
[ON] COLE: What's up, man?

Cole.
[ON] CODY: Cole?

Good to meet you, man.
[ON] STEVEN, SR.: Steve.

- Steve.

-
Nice to meet you, man.

STEVEN: Cody is part
owner of Branded Bison.

Born and raised in
that area and is

very connected to the Flathead
Indian Reservation and all

of the tribal people there.

- Well, this is
your digs right here, boys.

Check it out.
[ON] COLE: Oh, yeah, awesome.

- This
thing is way bigger

than I thought it would be.
[ON] COLE: Holy cow.

CODY: 30 foot
diameter in here.

STEVEN: Wow.
[OFF] COLE: That's cool.

- And then when
the sun goes down, man, you

got the purple majesty
because the sunset

is amazing, but the
Mission Mountains, man,

they turn purple.
[OFF] STEVEN: Really?

- Yeah,
right before the ice.

Beautiful.

- That's
what I like to hear.

- Let's go.

- Well, let's
get you guys' stuff

and get some dinner going and
stretch the legs a little bit.

STEVEN: You want to go
check out the view from above?

JESSE: Yeah.

This is freaking
beautiful out here.

STEVEN: I love Montana.

- Those
mountains are already

starting to turn purple.

STEVEN: Yeah,
it really don't

get much better than that.

JESSE: Yeah,
it's freaking gorgeous.

- All right,
I'll follow your lead.

JESSE: All right.

- All right, you
guys need a hand out here?

- Probably
could help him, huh?

- I guess.

- If we have to.

[music playing]

- Dad, you want me to
do the grilling or you got it?

- Whatever.

- Some things you
just leave up to a man.

I would definitely
say that we spend more

time than the
average, like, father,

son, and brothers do together.

You know, we go on a
lot of trips together.

We are very big into
being with our family.

Like, my brothers
are my best friends.

- I'm
messing with you.

- No, you didn't.
[ON] STEVEN: I am.

JESSE: You tripped.
[ON] STEVEN: No, I did not.

I knew what I was--

- I want
to go up there.

Hey, sorry.

I just walked up the
side of the hill.

I have zero signal.

Here's what I came
up here to show you.

We're literally gonna
be riding our horses

and catching buffalo
all through this.

KACIE: I've never even
seen the mountains before.

COLE: The big
mountains are over here.

You can see the tops of them.

KACIE: Yeah, I see it.

I've never seen anything
like it in my life.

COLE: Pretty
cool, ain't it?

KACIE: I can't
believe it's daylight there.

- And it's light
until, like, 10:30, 11 o'clock.

KACIE: Why?

COLE: The days get way
longer during the summer.

But then they get way
shorter during the winter.

KACIE: That's crazy.

That's your teepee?

COLE: Yep.

These are like--
they said it's how

it would have been done however
many years ago, you know?

Whenever these were the only
thing that they lived out of,

like, the exact same way.

Kind of cool.

KACIE: Yeah, that is cool.

Did you know that
Calah is moving here

for the entire month of July?

- No, but I'm
glad I can say that

now when I go back down here.

Thanks for telling me that.

All right, well, I got
to head down there.

Have a good night.
Love you.

KACIE: Love you.

Cole is just, like,
the most genuine guy,

and he has, like, this soft
little teddy bear side to him

that, like, some people
see but not a lot.

He's always telling
me, like, I love you

and all this other sweet stuff.

- Boy, did
I just get some news.

- What happened?

COLE: You tell us.

STEVEN: Oh,
no, what did I do?

- You
didn't do anything,

but is there anything
coming up here

in the next month or a couple
of weeks that's going on?

Nobody's moving anywhere or
moving in with anybody or--

STEVEN: No.

- --moving
up from Texas?

STEVEN: Whenever
Cole's got news to share,

especially if it involves me and
he knows it's gonna make my dad

mad, that boy cannot
keep his mouth shut,

and he will be the first one
to rat me out on anything.

She's staying for three weeks.

- You weren't
gonna tell anybody?

STEVEN: You won't
even know she's here.

STEVEN, SR.: So my biggest
fear for Steven with Calah

is that Calah controls Steven
in a just overbearing way.

Every red flag is there.

Like, if I tried to call you
at 4:00 or 5:00 at night,

she don't let you
take a phone call.

You can't be a business
owner and not take f*cking

phone calls in the evening.

- I agree.

- And I don't
know why or how that dynamic

has gotten so lopsided
in their relationship,

but she controls him like
nothing I've ever seen.

- Anybody want to
take bets right now that she

moves back in three weeks?

- No,
she is, for real.

[tense music]

- OK, I'm going on.

- Oh.

- This
place is packed.

- I know.

CALAH: I love this.

- Yeah, this is nice.

- Best
seat in the house.

WAITER: Can I
get you guys started

with something to drink?

- I will do a
Tito's soda with lime.

- Can I just
do, like, a Moscow mule?

- Can I get the
spicy strawberry margarita?

WAITER: Spicy strawberry?

Of course.

I'll be right back with
those for you guys.

- Thank you.

CALAH: I'm so happy the
sun is down I would be dying.

- I know.

- It was so hot today.

WAITER: All right, here
are those drinks for y'all.

CALAH: Thank you.

- Calah, you need
to tell Kacie about what you

had to text me the other day.

Because she text me during the
day, asked to use our vacuum,

and I was like, oh,
no, please tell me

you are not cleaning
Steven's house.

Like, I know it's
gonna be a disaster.

CALAH: Like, no,
I'm doing it voluntarily.

It would be nice to
walk around barefoot

and not get a dead bug
on me or black feet.

ALLI: It
was so disgusting.

- Like, his
house, it was so bad.

[upbeat music]

ALLI: I have
to ask you guys.

Does Steve call
Jesse and Cole daily?

- I would say
he calls them daily.

- Steve calls
Steven 30 to 50 times a day.

I'm like, that's
like-- that's a lot.

It's a lot.

It's gotten to the point
now, it's like, if we go out,

I'm like, I--

don't answer any calls.

ALLI: Yeah.

- Like, this
is me and you time.

- You have
to really set, like,

those guidelines for the guys--

I think every
single one of them--

because if you
don't, like, you will

never have time for yourself.

- It's,
like, similar about us.

Like, we're very strong willed,
and they need that so badly.

- Oh, yeah.

- That's why he needs
to be more grateful for me.

- I agree.

- They all need to be
more grateful for the women.

- Who do you think
is the influence on this?

- Steve.

Hey, I called him
out the other day.

I was like, why
are you telling all

your kids not to get married?

I've been with him

and you're telling your son
not to get married to me.

Like, what the f*ck?

Steve is constantly instilling
in his boys, don't get married,

don't get married.
You're gonna ruin your life.

-
I mean, marriage--

like, what, the first
marriage, there's, like,

a 60% failure rate.

I will never get married again.

I served my prison sentence.

I'm out.

I was married for 28 years.

They want your power.

I don't want no
one else's power.

ALLI: Just because
his marriage didn't work out

doesn't mean that
his son's marriages

aren't gonna work out.

I think that's kind
of a slap in our face,

and I have told him this.

- I really do feel
like it's-- there's, like,

a deep fear in him.

- 100%.

They're literally
his best friends.

Like, if they're not
there, what's he gonna do?

KACIE: Yeah.
[OFF] CALAH: Exactly.

Obviously, we've been with
the boys for years now.

It's like, there's
something there.

Like, we love each other.

- He's an
example to them, too.

Like, I mean, these
boys looks up to him.

- He's a
huge example to them.

- And the way
he acts right now--

KACIE: And the boys
even know it's wrong,

and they're like, ah,
why is my dad doing this?

If he's not gonna
break up with Galyna,

then he has no right to talk
sh*t on anyone's relationships.

ALLI: No, not at all.

- I feel like we have
never gotten together like this

and actually had a
deep conversation

about our relationships.

So it's really, really nice to
see that the other girls feel

the same way and
that all of the guys

kind of have some
similarities between them

when it comes to relationships.

CALAH: Should
we take a sh*t?

We should.

- On his tab.

CALAH: I have his--

I have his credit card.

- Yeah, or
I can give you Cole's.

- I have Cole's,
too, but it may get declined.

You never know.

- No, Cole's been
making good money lately.

- Yeah, he has.

KACIE: Because he
literally put emergency

money in his nightstand for me.

He said, this is in case
there was an emergency

and you need it.

- Why are
all the guys like that?

KACIE: That's
what Cole does, yeah.

- Steven will
send me 10 grand and--

- OK.

- 20 grand.

- $20,000?

Are you kidding me?

I was just bragging on
Cole for sending me,

like, $200 sometimes, 100.

- What?

What am I lacking
in this deal here.

- Cole needs
to get a better job.

So to find out that
Calah is getting

sent $20,000, like, that
is literally insane.

- Y'all better
not f*cking repeat that.

Please don't-- no,
no, no, no, no, no.

- I need to tell
Jesse step up his game.

[upbeat music]

- What's
happening, fellas?

-
In about 15 minutes,

we'll be eating some ribeye.

- Oh, man.

These guys do it right, man.
[ON] STEVEN, SR.: Oh, yeah.

STEVEN: Vance,
I'm Steven McBee.

- Steven,
nice to meet you.

- Good
to meet you as well.

MR. GEORGE:
Oh, look at this.

VANCE: You guys are making
your dad do all the cooking?

STEVEN: No, he doesn't
let anyone else do it.

- He'd be taking
it out of your hand.

- Yeah.

- There's a
right way to do everything,

you know what I'm saying?

- Yeah.

- Everybody
gets their own steak,

and here's the potatoes.

There's a napkin for you, sir.

STEVEN: I know last
year, whenever you guys

got to come down to Red Barn
and stay the night there,

we feel like we have
a pretty nice setup,

and we're pretty proud of it.

And then you bring us
out here and totally

put ours to shame with the
views and the hospitality.

And every single thing about
it has been unbelievable.

- I just can't
get over that we're

literally gonna be riding
our horses catching

buffalo all through this.

- Yeah, these
guys, they're ranchers,

just like you guys, you know?

But the Indians here are
hunters and gatherers, you know?

STEVEN, SR.: Right.

- Agriculture was
kind of introduced to us

in the last hundred years.

But my grandpa, he
was a race horse man.

So was my great-grandpa.

We rode bareback
a lot, you know?

And that was just
fun to us, you know?

MR. GEORGE:
I learned to ride

bareback before I could ride.

My dad wouldn't allow
me to be on the saddle.

COLE: Really?

MR. GEORGE: No, I had to
learn to ride bareback and--

VANCE: Yeah, I
rarely had a saddle,

too, when I was growing up.

My grandma used to
make Indian saddles.

And those were pretty cool, but
we never used them, you know?

I always say they did all
that Indian stuff, you know?

- Our
grandma was half-Cherokee.

VANCE: Did you
guys get to know her?

-
Oh, we knew her good.

Yeah, we stayed every summer.

JIMMY: Every
summer, we spent

the whole summer at her house.

VANCE: Did
she talk Indian?

JIMMY: No.
[OFF] VANCE: No?

We do our best, you know?

We're trying to teach our--

our young people
these things, you

know, because so much is lost.

So much has d*ed out.

- My-- my parents
both spoke fluent Salish,

and they chose not to
teach us as their kids

because when they went to
the government schools,

they were punished if they
spoke the native tongue.

So they said, I'm not putting
our kids through this.

So they didn't teach us.

VANCE: Yeah, but our
language is hard, you know?

Like, for example, the
way you say horse--

STEVEN: Uh-huh.

- [salish] So if I
was to say, go get your horse--

[salish]

Go get your horse.

- Wow.

- If you really
were fluent, they know.

They know, you know?

They know.

STEVEN: Well, I know that
we appreciate it more than we

can even put into words how
much this has meant to us just

coming out here,
being able to check

out everything and listen
to Zan and Cody, Mr.

George and yourself.

I mean, it has been truly
an experience of a lifetime.

JESSE: It's
life changing for us.

- Yeah.

And don't forget to
pray, too, you know?

Indians are always
praying, you know?

We use the word "sacred,"
and it's kind of a taboo word

now or whatever, but
everything is sacred, you know?

We take care of it.

JESSE: I really
admire everybody that's

living on the reservation--
their tenacity,

their willingness to
help each other out,

and just their determination
to keep this way of life going.

They're out there
doing it, doing

the thing, keeping it alive,
keeping the traditions alive.

And it's-- it's impressive.

VANCE: Before
we go, I'm gonna

share a song with you guys, OK?

And this song is to just
simply honor you guys.

[chanting]

That's-- that's it.

- Thank you.

-
That was awesome.

- Yeah, thank you.

-
I say this to--

in a lot of meetings and
to my boys the whole time

they grow up.

People may not
remember your name.

They may not know-- remember
what you said or did,

but they never forget
how you made them feel.

And that's hospitality.

You guys made us
feel very welcome.

So we really appreciate it.

STEVEN: Can you
text that to my wife?

[laughter]

- Yeah, hey, we can
always use some extra points.

COLE: Oh, I'm,
like, crying right now.

JESSE: You're
missing Kacie.

STEVEN: I was gonna
say, it's not the smoke.

[laughter]

STEVEN: sh**t,
we're gonna have some work

cut out for us tomorrow.

[serene music]

STEVEN: Oh, look at that.

Look at the horizon.

See that deer?

- Morning, sunshine.

- Morning.

- What time is it?
[ON] STEVEN: I don't know.

My phone don't work.

It just d*ed.

Cooking breakfast over an open
fire, looking at the mountains,

breathing in that fresh,
crisp mountain air.

It's who we really are.

It's what we grew up
doing with my dad.

It's always been in
our blood, and it'll

always be in our blood.

I think Zanen said the cowboys
would be here about 8:00,

working the buffalo.

- It's gonna
be some up and down hill.

STEVEN: How in the
world are we gonna find

a hundred bison in 3,500 acres?

This right here is going to
be a lot different than what

we're used to on the farm.

JESSE: We've
got some I would

call them hills in Missouri.

There's not really anything like
what's out here in the West.

So trying to herd these
bison through these mountains

and the terrain and all the
valleys and rocks and basically

everything that the West
has to throw at you,

it's gonna be a challenge.

- 3,500 acres is
not a small piece of ground.

- This is
truly going to separate

the men from the boys.

COLE: Good thing we got
the real cowboys showing up.

- We just
rolled out of bed.

COLE: What?

COWBOY: He didn't
want to get up this morning.

- How
you feeling today?

- Call
you baby Casey, bro.

- I know.

- My brother Jesse
might look like Casey Dutton,

but Zannon, he's
true Casey Dutton.

He is a cowboy in every
sense of the word.

- All right, so just
a quick rundown of the plan,

how you guys are gonna
do this and go about it.

You guys are gonna go up
through here over this ridge,

all the way down to
the beach on the river.

STEVEN: Yeah.

- The
buffalo side of it

now, I just know that they're
down at the south end.

STEVEN: Mm-hmm.
[ON] ZANEN: So I don't know.

They're gonna be in some
breaks and some sage.

If you find them, don't think
you can ride straight to 'em.

STEVEN: Yeah.

ZANEN: You're gonna
have to peel back out

and watch those ravines.

Because if you go
down in a hole,

you won't be able to
get back up out of them.

So keep an eye on each
other, how you do that.

And then once you
get them gathered,

we'll try to get in
touch with everyone

so we can make sure
the trap is set

and everything's ready to go.

- All
right, here we go.

COLE: That's pretty.

That's so cool.

STEVEN: That's
wild, isn't it?

[music playing]

STEVEN, SR.:
Beautiful country up here.

- That's
cool, isn't it?

STEVEN, SR.: It's awesome.

[upbeat music]

JESSE: This
country is so cool.

ZANEN: It is.

- I'm just
taking it all in.

The American bison
used to roam the Great

Plains of North America for--

for thousands of years.

Bison meant everything
to American Indians.

They used every
single part of a bison

when they would harvest it.

They wouldn't leave
anything to waste,

and it's something that we
share and that we are super

passionate about as farmers.

STEVEN: The bison
are right over there.

STEVEN, SR.:
Fan out, boys.

JESSE: Get ready.
Get ready.

Get ready.

Oh, sh*t, they're moving.

Oh.

STEVEN: sh*t.

STEVEN, SR.: Steven,
here they come, Steven.

STEVEN: I got you.
[OFF] COLE: Fan out right here.

Spread out right here.

JESSE: Come on now.

COLE: The buffalo--

herding them is not
like herding cows.

I mean, as soon as they see
you, their heads are up.

They're moving quick.

I mean, there's
nothing stopping them.

They are way more
athletic than I thought.

JESSE: Come on,
come on, come on, come on.

[tense music]

COLE: You did it, buddy.

STEVEN: It was close.

COLE: Dude,
did you see me, Dad?

Both my feet come
out the stirrups.

Oh, boy.
I think that went pretty good.

I don't know, I've never
done this but this one time,

but it seemed like
it went decent.

STEVEN, SR.: Oh, that
was the best ride I've been on.

- Oh, the best ride,
but I was talking about just

catching the buffalo.
I don't--

- Oh, yeah.
Yeah.

- You guys
did an excellent job.

- No, dude.

That buffalo rounded the
corner, and they go, McBees.

That's the boys right there.

Yeah, so the plan is we're
going to sort them three ways,

get them prepped, get
them fed for the night,

and then we'll get some food.

- Let's do this.

- Let's get it.

This will be about as
easy as herding cats.

COLE: We're gonna
put the pairs over here,

the bulls over
here, and then we're

gonna put all of our
buffalo that we're taking

right here in this one pen.

ZANEN: Watch your paddle.

They're coming.

COLE: I'm
looking at these things

just kind of running
around out there,

chasing each other around.

They're eyeing us,
and I think this could

be a little bit dangerous.

- All right,
pay attention because--

COLE: I got to
bring these bulls.

- We're
bringing the bulls up the alley.

ZANEN: Jesse,
Cole, watch yourselves.

JESSE: We're
taking them all.

- Come on, come on.
Hey, hey.

STEVEN: These are purebred
American bison, 100% bison DNA.

These are not beefalo, which is
what you get a lot of the times

out our way, where they've bred
cattle into the bison genetics

so they're a little more calm.

Out here, these bison
are wild animals.

So getting them into a corral,
it's dangerous as all get out.

MEN: Hey, hey,
hey, hey, hey, hey.

STEVEN:
Coming up the alley.

JESSE: Take the bottom
piece and pull it there.

STEVEN, SR.:
Watch that big one.

Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.

JESSE: One more time.

ZANEN: 1, 2, 3.

STEVEN, SR.:
Up, up, up, up, up.

ZANEN: Watch yourself.

Watch yourself.

COLE: Hey,
hey, hey, hey, hey.

Come on, come on.

Hey, hey.

We're gonna put the pairs over
here, the bulls over here,

and then we're gonna
put all of our buffalo

that we're taking right
here in this one pen.

Hey.

Watch yourself.

Watch yourself.

STEVEN, SR.:
Up, up, up, up.

[clanging]

[cattle calling]

STEVEN, SR.:
Here she comes.

Cody!

STEVEN: Dad, watch out.
[OFF] STEVEN, SR.: You good?

You want to trade me out?

- Oh, no, I'm fine.

Why, do I look scared?

- No.

COLE: Do I look scared?

Because I'm scared to death.

MEN: Hey, hey,
hey, hey, hey, hey.

Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.

Hey, hey.

ZANEN: Go ahead,
go ahead, go ahead.

COLE: Shut the back gate.

Go ahead.

STEVEN, SR.: Well,
we got them all sorted.

STEVEN: Yeah.

- We're
gonna let the other ones that

are stressed out settle down.

You guys are gonna meet
us later at the river.

- Yeah.

- Thanks for the help,
and thanks for everything.

- Appreciate it.

- What'd you
guys play in football?

What position?
[ON] COLE: Running back.

- Yeah, me too.
[ON] COLE: Yeah.

- We're good then.
[ON] COLE: Yeah.

- That's
why we survive, bro.

- It's been a while.

- We got 'em.

STEVEN: I'm gonna
go jump in the river.

I feel like-- I feel
like a dust bowl.

-
I'll take a towel

and shampoo down to the river.

- My hat doesn't
even look dark brown anymore.

Oh, well.

-
Good job out there.

You always man up.

Pitch there.

OK, what happened
to the shampoo?

Do you have it?

STEVEN: We got it.

We're good.

JESSE: Yeah, three in one.

It does it all.

Oh, man.

Oh, my.

STEVEN: All
of us are sweating.

We all have a little
bit of swamp ass.

We're all stinky and smelly.

We're more than ready
to jump in this river

and get cleaned
off for the night.

- It looks cold.

- Oh, my.

- Oh.

- That's worse.

- Oh.

- Don't
get too far, though.

- Oh.

[laughter]

COLE: The river is
cold, I'm not gonna lie,

but it's pretty cool to be out
here swimming in this river

and taking a shower, you know,
out in the mountains in Montana

with my family.

But with my family?

That sounds kind of weird,
taking a shower with my family.

We weren't naked.

I mean--

It was the rocks
that were hurting me.

JESSE: Somebody
help the elder.

COLE: I'm
waiting for a grizzly

to come out over there
looking for its next meal.

- It would have
been me because I couldn't

have gotten out fast enough.

- That's
why I got out first.

JESSE: Freaking
beautiful out here.

COLE: I love Montana.

Boy, it'd be cool to
have a place out here.

JESSE: Big country.

STEVEN: Oh, man, we're
gonna be up early, too.

[music playing] Make a
path in the wasteland.

I'm searching for
the rising seas.

- Cole,
are you limping?

- Yeah.
It hurts today.

[SINGING] We know there ain't
no cure for this disease.

- All right.

JESSE: 22 hours.

COLE: 22 hours.

We got it.

- No
stop till Gallatin.

JIMMY: Once
these boys have kids,

how often are you gonna get
to do something like this?

STEVEN, SR.: I know.

I don't know.

The boys-- my biggest
fear with the boys

has always been the same answer.

What do boys do?

They get with a girl.

And I've seen it
already over and over

and over and over and over, and
not one of my boys is married.

Just having their girlfriends,
their biggest fights.

You know, they get along fine.

I'm not saying they don't
ever have a dumb-ass skirmish

over something silly.

But, boy, when you
get with a girl,

it causes rift between them.

JIMMY: The wrong woman
can tear families apart.

If you fall in love
with the wrong woman--

- Oh, you--
you'll destroy your family.

[upbeat music]

STEVEN, SR.: Am I
gonna be all right on the--

is this hill too high?

STEVEN: It
might hit the hill.

You might need to
go more downhill.

- That'll work.
[OFF] STEVEN, SR.: Hold on.

JESSE: Yep, yep.

- I don't
want nothing getting out here.

- All right.

- Welcome
to the farm, girls.

- Everybody ready?

- Yeah, let them out.

[upbeat music]

- Pull that one.

JESSE: Ooh,
every one of them.

STEVEN: That's awesome.
That was a long trip for them.

- 24
hours, pretty much.

- Yeah.

Look, they already know
where the water is.

-
They can smell it.

- Yeah.

What a event of getting these.

Dude, everything we did to
get these guys here, huh?

STEVEN, SR.: Is
that back gate open where

they can get to the other one?

JESSE: Yeah,
they're heading out there.

STEVEN: Yep, they're
heading out to the pasture now.

JESSE: They
see the other ones.

They're going to them.

They went right to them.

- Hell, they may
know some of them other ones.

STEVEN: I was
gonna say, that's

gonna look like
one hell of a herd

whenever they all get together.
[OFF] STEVEN, SR.: Yeah.

- They're
all together right now.

Come look at them.
[ON] STEVEN: Are they?

- Yeah.

- Wow,
that's awesome.

Knowing that these bison were
part of the original herd that

repopulated the United
States when the bison were

on the brink of extinction, it's
really a generational moment

for us here at McBee Farms,
knowing that decades from now,

my kids' kids are
going to be running

these bison here at the farm.

- We got them home.

I think it's time to
get ourselves home now.

- I kind of stink.
That river--

- I smell
pretty bad, too.

- --that river
shower we took there

today didn't do it for me.

Ooh, let's not
fall off the fence.

[upbeat music]

COLE: This is a nice view.

KACIE: This is cute.

- Pretty nice, huh?

- Yeah.

- Not too bad
for some old cowboy, huh?

We couldn't have asked
for a better night.

It's been, like, hot
every day, and it's

really nice out tonight.

- I know.

- You want one?
[ON] KACIE: Lunchable?

No.

- Lunchable, man.

You can't b*at a Lunchable.

This a date or what?

Lunchables and some pretzels
out in the cow pasture.

Probably one of the best
dates I've taken you on, huh?

- It really is.

COLE: When I
was 18 years old,

I was out with a bunch
of friends late at night.

This girl that I went to school
with messaged me and was like,

hey, come get in the hot tub.

You know, me and my friend,
are over here chilling.

Lo and behold, I get there,
and there's Kacie, first time

ever meeting her.

And I don't care how small
Gallatin is or any other town

around here, I was
a star quarterback

for two years of this town.

So I feel like everybody should
know who I am just from that.

KACIE: He asked me to
go to a Dustin Lynch concert

with him.

We go to the concert.

He was too scared to
kiss me when we got back.

COLE: We hit
it off really well.

It was, like, 4:00
in the morning.

Literally watched
the sun come up.

KACIE: After
that, I kind of friend

zoned him for a little while.

And then we went
driving around one

night, like, with
a group of friends,

and then at the
end of the night,

it just ended up
being me and Cole.

- I'm not
really romantic, huh?

- Mm-mm.

And I don't know why, but,
like, a flip just switched,

and we made eye contact.

And, like, I could feel it in,
like, my stomach and my heart.

I was like, I am going to
love this guy for so long,

and I don't know--

I've never had
that feeling, ever.

You just, like, show your
love in different ways.

You know?

- Mm-hmm.

I know we've been kind
of, like, not really

knowing what things are lately.

I mean, we knew
we were together,

but we didn't really
have, like, a name for it,

I guess, but I don't know,
I think I'm ready to commit.

What about you?

- Yeah, I would
call you my boyfriend.

- Would you?

KACIE: Yeah.

COLE: I have
realized that Kacie

is definitely the
only girl I could

see myself settling down with.

Only five years later.

- For the 37th time.

- No, I
think we've definitely

grown up in the last year.

Might as well try it again, huh?

- Yeah.

- All right.

I think it's probably time.

[music playing]

[SINGING] Hey, boy.

Hey, boy, don't lie to me.

Tell me where did
you sleep last night.

- Wait, what?

JESSE: Easy, girl.

COLE: Dang it.

- Whoa!

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

Whoa, whoa, whoa,
whoa, whoa, whoa.

COLE: Hold on.

- Steve, I'm hurt.

- Your
dad doesn't want

you guys to be, like, boo'd up.

STEVEN, SR.:
I can't figure out

who's the bigger
trainwreck, Steven

and Calah or Cole and Casie.

- [laughs]

GALYNA: I
brought some boxes.

Can you help me?

- Yeah.

STEVEN: Galyna
has no intentions

of finding her own place.

- Calah told them that
you've been writing $10,000

and $20,000 checks to her.

If I was running
everything and I

was in control of the finances,
I would not be handing money

to a girlfriend like that.

- Do you
think Dad would trust

you with taking over the farm?

That ain't gonna happen
over my dead body.
