I'm playing explorers with a new babysitter, Amira.

Then, I'm having a sleepover at the Treehouse

with Katerina and O the Owl.

I'm so excited because my babysitter is coming today!

Have you ever had a babysitter?

We play Jungle Explorers

and make a cave with pillows!

Let's see what we can explooore inside.

Mom Tiger: [chuckles] Hi Daniel!

Oh remember, I'm taking Margaret to her checkup,

so a babysitter--

Daniel: Prince Tuesday is coming!

Prince Tuesday is coming!

We're going to be Jungle Explorers in our cave!

Mom: Oh, remember Daniel, since Prince Tuesday is away

at college, he can't come babysit you.

A new babysitter is coming.

Daniel: Ohhhh, right.

But I don't want a new babysitter,

I want to play with Prince Tuesday.

Grr!

Mom: I understand you're upset,

but your new babysitter is Amira.

Teacher Harriet's niece.

Remember her?

Daniel: Oh yeah, Max's big sister!

But...

Prince Tuesday always babysits me.

Mom: Hmm, I know you like

playing with Prince Tuesday,

but I think you might also really like playing

with Amira if you give it a try.

Mom: It's a beautiful day today.

Maybe you two can play outside.

Amira: Oo yes!

Maybe you could show me Jungle Beach, Daniel.

Who's this?

Daniel: Tigey.

Amira: Hi Tigey!

What does Tigey like to play?

Daniel: He likes to play Jungle Explorers

when Prince Tuesday is here.

Amira: Well guess what?

Daniel: What?

Amira: I love playing Jungle Explorers too!

Daniel: [surprised] You do?!

Amira: Mhm!

I think I have something a Jungle Explorer might like.

Let me see...

[humming]

Ah ha!

Daniel: What's that?

Amira: I like to pretend it's a telescope

to look for Jungle birds high in the sky!

Daniel: [giggles]

It's kind of like my binoculars!

I made these.

Amira: Wow, those look great for exploring outside!

Mom: Looks like you two have a lot of exploring to do!

Daniel: Ugga mugga!

Mom: Ugga Mugga!

Margaret and I will be back home in a little while.

Amira: Bye! Baby Margaret: Bye Bye!

Mom: Goodbye, Jungle Explorers!

Daniel: [giggles]

[birds chirping]

Amira: [gasps] Listen!

Do you hear that?

Amira: Let's go outside and explore!

Daniel: Well...

when I play Jungle Explorers with Prince Tuesday,

we always play inside.

He makes a jungle cave out of pillows...

Amira: We could play inside...

But I'd love to explore Jungle Beach with you

and look for...

jungle treasure!

Daniel: ♪ You might change your mind, ♪

and play Explorers outside.

Amira: Great!

[chanting] We're on a jungle hunt

and what do we see...?

A jungle vine for Tigey!

Daniel: [giggles]

Tigey is swinging soooo high

through the jungle!

Weeeee!

Amira: [giggles] Go Tigey!

Daniel: [giggles]

I do like playing Jungle Explorers outside.

Amira/Daniel: [chanting] We're on a jungle hunt

and what do we see...?

[birds cawing]

Daniel: [to viewer] Jungle birds looking at me!

[birds cawing]

They sound like they're making music!

[birds cawing]

Heyyyy...

do you want to make-believe with me?

Let's make-believe...

we're in a jungle bird band!

Narrator: ♪ Ba do ba do

Daniel: ♪ Come see the jungle bird band in the trees ♪

[bird whistles]

♪ They dance all around the nest, doing the shimmy ♪

Narrator: ♪ Do ba do ba do ba do

Daniel: ♪ Toucans are singing, whistling merrily ♪

[birds whistling]

♪ Parrots and Parakeets

♪ tappin' their feet

[tapping]

♪ Come see the jungle bird band with me ♪

[birds whistling]

Daniel: [to viewer] Wasn't that grr-ific?

Amira: Ooo!

Look, Explorer Daniel!



These look like elephant ears!

Daniel: [giggles] They do!

Amira: That reminds me of an adventure story!

Do you want to hear it?

Daniel: Ooo, a Tigey the Adventure Tiger story?

I looooove Tigey the Adventure Tiger books!

Amira: This isn't a Tigey the Adventure Tiger story.

It's a story about Evie the Elephant!



Daniel: Well, I really like Tigey books.

I can go get one of mine.

Amira: Actually, we're going to make a story together,

in the sand!

Daniel: But, I've never made a story in the sand before.

Amira: I know it'll be different,

but you might like it.

Daniel: Hmmm...

Ok. I'll try it!

Amira: Great!

I'll start.

This is Evie.

She's an explorer elephant!

Evie has biiig floppy ears...

and a loooong trunk!

Daniel: [giggles]

Amira: Do you want to draw Evie's tail?

Daniel: Uh huh! Mhm!

Amira: Evie the Elephant loves to explore

with her friend Liam, a little lion!

Let's draw the lion together.

Daniel: Okay!

♪ [playful music]

Ooo, a stick for the tail.

♪♪

And a seashell mane!



Amira: Ooo, I like that lion mane, Daniel!

Daniel: What happens next?

Amira: Suddenly, Evie and Liam come to a river

with lots of waves!

Daniel: Woooosh! Here's the water.

Amira: Evie stomps and splashes through the water,

but the lion is too small,

and can't make it across!

What will they do?

Daniel: [gasps]

Amira: Evie tosses a vine to Liam

so he can swing across the water!

Daniel: Here, Liam! Here's your jungle vine!

Amira: [giggles]

The lion used the jungle vine to swing safely

to the other side of the river!

Daniel: [relieved] Phewwf!

Amira: Now Evie the Elephant and her friend Liam the Lion

can go on more adventures together!

Daniel: Yessss!

Amira: The end!

Daniel: That was tigertastic!

I like the part when the lion used the jungle vine!

Can I hear the story again?

Amira: Yep!

Amira/Daniel: [giggle]

Narrator: ♪ When you're trying something new ♪

♪ Sometimes it takes some getting used to ♪

Daniel: Mom! Mom! Look what we made!

Mom: Wow!

It looks like you and Amira had such a good time together.

Daniel: It was grr-ific!

Can she babysit me again?

Mom: Of course!

Margaret: [happy baby babbles]

Daniel: [to viewer] At first,

I didn't want to play with a new babysitter.

But...when I gave it some time,

I changed my mind.

I'm glad I did,

because I liked playing with Amira today.

Ugga Mugga!

Daniel: [to viewer] Let's go see some Neighbors!

Janae: Hi, I'm Janae, and today I'm going

to go meet a storyteller.

♪♪

Kristen: Hi Janae, I'm Kristen.

Janae: Hi Kristen.

Kristen: Are you ready to tell a story?

Janae: Yeah! Kristen: Let's go!

Janae: What does a story teller do?

Kristen: A story teller tells stories

without a book or pictures.

Instead, we use spoken word,

movement, and imagination.

Janae: Wow!

Kristen: One of the people who told me stories

when I was a kid, was my Grandfather,

and he liked to go fishing.

So today, we're going to tell a story about a fisherman.

There once was a fisherman,

and he lived in a little sea port village,

and everyday he would go to the shore to fish.

One day, he decided to try a place

that he had never been before.

And when he cast his net,

it was heavy very quickly.

And so, he pulled,

and he hauled, and...[gasps]

what do you think he caught?

Janae: A slice of pizza!

Kristen: A slice of pizza!

Oh, but it was all slimy.

It had been in there too long.

So, he had to feed the piece of pizza to the shark

and cast his net one more time.

Well what do you think he caught this time?

Janae: A nice big salad!

Kristen: A nice big salad!

And he took it home, and he and his family

had a nice healthy dinner.

And he thought about what he might catch, tomorrow.

Janae: That was fun. Thank you.

Kristen: You're welcome.

Janae: Bye Neighbors!

Daniel: [to viewer] I like these visits with you!

Daniel: [to viewer] Hi, Neighbor!

It's almost bedtime,

but I'm not sleeping at my house tonight.

Katerina Kittycat's Treehouse!

O the Owl is going to be there,

and you can come, too! [giggles]

Dad Tiger: You ready to go, my big tiger?

Daniel: Uh-huh!

Daniel: I'm heeeere for the sleepover!

Daniel/Katerina Kittycat: [giggle]

Katerina: Me threeeee, meow meow!

Well, I always sleep here.

All: [giggle]

Henrietta: Katerina, why don't you go ahead

and set up the sleeping bags

like we talked about, meow meow?

And I'll be right back.

Katerina: Okay, Mommy!

Let's use our sleeping bags to make a big,

cozy bed on the floor!

I'll sleep here, meow meow.

Daniel: And I'll sleep right here!

[giggles]

Katerina: Do you want to sleep here, O?

O: We're sleeping on the floor, hoo hoo?

Daniel: Uh huh!

O: Oh...

I didn't know we were sleeping on the floor.

I always sleep on the bed.

X The Owl: I know it's different from what you're used to, O.

But, you might like it!

We'll make it a nice cozy spot.

O: Okay...

Daniel: Guess who else is here for the sleepover...?!

Katerina: Oh! And Penelope Pinky Pink Pig, meow meow!

O: I don't sleep with a stuffie.

I always sleep with my fluffy pillow, and a book--

[gasp] My book!

I forgot my book!

I'm not sure I want to sleep over anymore.

O: Owls looove bedtime snacks!

Daniel: Applesauce?

I tried applesauce once before and...

I don't like it.

Henrietta: It's okay if you don't want your snack, Daniel,

but sometimes,

it takes trying a food a few times

before you like it, meow meow.

It tastes like yummy apples...

but even apple-y-er!

Katerina: Follow me!

[long yawn]

...sleepy.

Aaaand she wants a cozy place to sleep on the floor, too!

Daniel: So does Tigey! [giggles]

Katerina: We need just the right spot.

Here! In the middle of all of us!

Daniel: Tigey thinks that's tigertastic!

O: Hmm.

I don't think they look cozy yet, hoo hoo.

Let's use this soft pillow to make them a bed!

Katerina: Just one more thing!
