NARRATOR: It was a lovely day in Word World.

a perfect day to go camping with friends.

Hey, Dog!

Are you home?

(barking)

Dog!

Woof!

(barking)

Hi, Dog.

Whoa, whoa, huh!

(sighs)

Are you ready to go camping?

(barking)

It's going to be so much fun, Dog.

We're going to go hiking in the woods.

Woof!

And toast m-marshmallows over the campfire.

(barks)

And sleep in a tent.

And tell spooky stories.

(whimpering)

(laughing): Oh, don't worry, Dog.

There's nothing to be scared of.

(whines)

I'm the bravest camper in Word World.

And I'm something of a camping expert.

Whoa, whoa! Huh!

So I can tell you,

Pig's stories are just make-believe.

(howls inquisitively)

Come on, Dog.

(barks)

I can taste those toasted marshmallows already.

Whoa!

Ahh.

Well, let's go.

(barking)

♪ A-camping we will go

(with Dog barking along): ♪ A-camping we will go

♪ Into the woods, you know, a-camping we will go-- Hey! ♪

♪ A-camping we will go...

Hey, guys, the perfect spot for camping.

Let's unpack our cooking equipment.

(chuckles)

Whoa! Whoa!

(giggling)

Cooking equipment unpacked.

Who's hungry?

Pig, we can't worry about food yet.

First, we need to set up our tent.

Now, tents can be very tricky to put up, you know,

but I'm something of a camping expert,

so let me show you how it's done.

(barking)

Okay.

(humming)

And, voila!

E-N-T-T.

Hmm.

No, that's not right.

Oh! Of course.

Well, maybe if the first "T" goes here and...

Oh, yeah, yeah, this goes...

Yes! This must be right.

E-T-N... T?

(groans)

What order do these letters go in?

(yells)

(moans)

Well, Um... I-I'm

not a-a camping expert

like you, Frog, but maybe

if you sound out the letters in the word,

you can figure out what order

they go in.

(groans)

Okay, Dog. Let's see.

Tent.

Tuh.

Eh.

Nnn...

Tuh.

T-E-N-T.

(barks)

KIDS: Tent!

Yeah! Tent!

We did it, Dog.

(barks)

You said it, Dog; that meal was delicious.

And now it's time for one of my favorite camping traditions:

telling spooky stories around the campfire.

(whimpering)

Aww, they're only make-believe

spooky stories, Dog.

Nothing to worry about.

Oh?

I'll go first.

Once upon a time, on a very dark, dark night,

a group of friends--

a frog, a dog...

(whimpers)

...and a pig decided to go...

camping together in the forest.

(yelps)

Hey, I didn't even get to the spooky part yet.

Now, what the three friends didn't know

was that a monster roamed through the forest,

looking for campfires.

And when he found a campfire, he'd make a funny sound.

(animal hooting)

(whimpering)

Oh, are you a little scared, Dog?

Mmm-hmm, mmm-hmm, mmm-hmm.

Oh, sometimes things seem

spookier in the dark.

That's the way it is when you're camping.

Pig's right, and once you figure out what a sound is,

it's not nearly as scary anymore.

(animal hooting)

(whimpering)

(giggling)

Oh, it's okay, Dog.

That's just an owl saying hello.

FROG: You see?

(hooting)

Hello.

See?

Go on with your make- believe spooky story, Pig.

Right! The story.

Now, where was I?

Oh, yes, the monster.

Mmm...

Now, as I was saying...

a monster roamed through the forest

looking for campfires.

(gasps)

(giggles)

(slurping)

And when he found a campfire, he'd make a funny sound.

Yum, yummy!

(giggles)

Huh?

I didn't say anything.

Dog?

Uh-uh.

Owl?

Did you say something, Mr. Narrator?

NARRATOR: Me? No.

I didn't say anything either.

Yum!

(giggling)

(all shrieking)

Monster! Monster!

(shrieking)

The tent. It fell apart.

And our letters are out there--

Oink!-- in the forest!

Yikes!

We can't stay out here all night without a tent.

Someone has to go into the forest and find the letters.

What?!

I'm not going out there.

Well, I'm not going out there.

(howling inquisitively)

PIG: Will you go, Dog?

Please?

We're too afraid.

Huh?

(sighs)

Oh...

Attaboy, Dog.

Fetch those letters.

Whoo-hoo, Dog.

(sniffing)

NARRATOR: So out into the dark woods went brave little Dog.

(crickets chirping)

(Dog whimpers)

NARRATOR: Don't worry, Dog.

That was just another forest sound.

(chirping)

See?

That was just a cricket chirping,

nothing to be scared of.

Phew.

(sniffing)

(grunts)

(barking)

NARRATOR: That's right, Dog, a letter T.

(giggling) (howls)

(giggles again)

(sniffing)

(monster giggling)

(whimpers)

(dog howls softly)

Hello, you scared me for a minute there, little guy.

(giggles)

I think you might be looking for this letter N, too.

(barks)

(giggling)

(laughter) W-What's that?

(barking)

Dog?

(Dog humming happily)

(gasps) Dog! Oh, you did it!

You found the letters for our tent.

Let's see now.

Tent!

Tuh, Eh, Nnn...

Hmm, something's missing.

Tuh.

(giggling): Tuh.

Frog, identify that sound please.

Tuh.

I've never heard anything like that before.

(howling)

BOTH: Dog?

Tuh, tuh... tuh.

(barking)

Oh, monster! (screeches)

(barking)

Tuh... you're missing the letter T.

FROG: What did he just say?

I said, "you're missing the letter T."

See?

Tuh, Eh, Nnn, Tuh.

Tent.

Hey, he's

a friendly monster.

And smart, too.

He knew what letter we were missing from our tent.

And I know something else, too.

I know it's time to...

ALL: Build a word!

(funky dance music playing)

♪ It's time to build a word

♪ Let's build it, let's build it now ♪

Tuh, Eh, Nnn, Tuh.

Whoa!

KIDS: Tent!

♪ Yeah, we just built a word

♪ We built it, we built it.

Perfect, thank you so much, Monster.

(giggles) Happy to help.

And so the friendly monster roamed the woods

looking for campfires.

Hey, Monster?

Why do you look for campfires anyway?

For the toasted marshmallows!

(giggling)

(all giggling)

Well, that explains it!

NARRATOR: As the WordFriends told stories around the campfire,

Dog thought that his first camping trip

might be his best ever.

(barking)

KIDS: Pig!

(giggles)

Hi, there.

Come join me and my best buddy...

Ant!

(giggling): Come with us to the...

BOTH: Playground!

(music playing)

♪ Ant, oh, Ant, oh, A-N-T

♪ You're a great big friend to me ♪

♪ Pig, oh, Pig, you're my friend, too ♪

♪ I'd really like to play with you ♪

BOTH: ♪ When good friends want to say "I like you" ♪

♪ They play in the playground, that's what they do ♪

♪ Let's ride the seesaw, Pig, oh, Pig ♪

(grunting)

♪ But I'm so small, and you're so big ♪

♪ I'm always up, and you're always down ♪

♪ Let's find something else in the playground ♪

♪ When good friends want to say "I like you" ♪

♪ They play in the playground, that's what they do ♪

♪ Let's ride the swings, yeah, Ant, oh, Ant ♪

♪ I'll try to push you, but I can't ♪

♪ I'm just too small to reach that high ♪

♪ We'll find something else we both can try ♪

That's a good idea.

♪ Let's ride the rocket, ride it fast ♪

♪ Too fast, too fast, I just can't last ♪

♪ Oh, Pig, oh, Pig, it's not my day ♪

♪ There has to be something we both can play. ♪

There doesn't seem to be anything

we can ride together, Pig.

Oh, don't worry, Ant.

We'll find something that we can both use.

Yeah, something that has steps

so that I can reach the top of it.

And something we can swoosh down together.

Hmm. S... L...

Sluh...

I know what we need.

(giggles): So do I.

Come on, Ant, let's...

BOTH: Build a word!

♪ It's time to build a word

♪ Let's build it, let's build it now. ♪

Sluh...

Ide.

KIDS: Slide!

♪ Yeah, we just built a word

♪ We built it, we built it.

(giggles): Ready?

ANT: One... two... three...

BOTH: Slide!

(both laughing)

Sweet!

Let's do it again.

(both laughing)

(pants, barks)

NARRATOR: It was a cool morning in Word World,

and everyone could feel that fall was in the air,

except Duck.

♪ Fun in the sun, don't waddle, run ♪

♪ Vacation time, vacation time ♪

♪ Uh, uh, vacation time.

NARRATOR: Uh, Duck, don't you know that summer is over?

It's fall now, and before you know it, winter will be here.

Yeah. That's why I'm going on vacation!

Vaca...

Oh, well, hey there, Monkey.

What you doing?

Hi, Duck.

I-I-I'm about to do

a little swinging on my vine.

Vvv...ine.

KIDS: Vine!

V is for vine.

Ooh-ooh-ooh.

Now stand back, Duck,

and watch how far this vine takes me.

Ready, set, go!

(chattering)

Wow, Monkey was right.

You really can swing far on a vine.

Hmm, well, let's see.

Oh, yeah.

♪ Fun in the sun, vacation time, vacation time ♪

♪ V-A, vacation time.

Hey, Bird, quack, quack.

Are you going on vacation, too?

Oh, why, hello, Duck, darling.

No, I'm not going on vacation.

I'm going on migration.

Migration?

That's what lots of us birds do,

head south for the winter.

I can almost feel the warm sand between my toes.

(chirping)

Yeah, fun in the sun!

That's a vacation!

Well, I guess it is sort of like a vacation, darling.

Say there, bird friend, you don't happen to know

the best way for me to get to my vacation, do you?

Well, of course.

Just look for the letter V, darling.

Look for the letter V?

What you talking about, Bird?

Well, all you need is the letter V.

It will take you on vacation, darling.

The letter V, huh?

(gasps) Of course!

V for vacation!

Thanks, Bird.

NARRATOR: So Duck knew he needed to search for a V

to help him get where he wanted to go.

DUCK (chuckles): Okay, come on, V.

Let's you and me get going on v-v-v... vacation.

And we're off.

(grunting)

(grunts)

I said, "We're off."

(quacking)

Come on, V, let's vamoose.

That means "Let's go."

(grunts)

NARRATOR: Um, Duck?

Not now!

I'm busy with this here V.

Come on now.

V-V-- Oh!

Hmm.

Maybe that's not the letter V I'm looking for.

Hmm, so where's the V that's right for me?

Where's the V that's right for me?

Where is the V that's right for me?

NARRATOR: Duck continued his search for the right letter V.

It seemed that V's were everywhere in Word World.

(gasps) Wait a second.

There's a V "cave."

C-A-V-E.

Yeah, Bear's cave.

Maybe that's where my vacation's supposed to be.

Here I am, Bear.

Oh!

Take me to my vacation.

Huh?

Come on.

You must be hiding the vacation stuff

around here somewhere.

Where's the sun?

Where's the sand?

Sand?

Sure! I've been looking for a V

because Bird told me

that's what I need to get me to my vacation.

So I saw the V in your cave and well, here I am,

ready for my vacation-- where is it?

Uh, well, Duck, there's not really

any sun or sand in my cave,

but you're welcome to sit.

Well, that sounds great. Thanks.

(both sigh)

Um, Bear, do you have any fruity drinks around or anything?

Uh-uh.

Hmm.

It's kind of cool in here, huh?

Not exactly warm and sunny.

Well, I have all this fur.

I need my home to be a little cool.

Um, okey-dokey.

Well, this has been great.

Thanks, Bear, but I don't really think

this is the kind of vacation I was looking for.

But it was nice to visit with you.

Um, I'll be moving along now.

I have to find the V.

Uh... the right V.

Have a nice day.

Hmm! Well, what V could Duck be looking for.

(ducks quacking)

Oh!

You think maybe that's the V Duck is looking for?

NARRATOR: Duck still wasn't ready

to give up on finding the right letter V.

V?! V?

Looking for a V.

(gasps) Wait a minute! Wait a minute!

Wasn't that a V?

Wait a minute! Wait a minute!

Oh, yeah, hey, Monkey.

What are you doing now?

Just monkeying around.

(laughs)

Actually, I'm driving my V-A-N.

A van. A super-duper way to travel.

Travel? Did you say "travel"?

I sure did, Duck.

(gasps) Then this must be the V

that takes me to my vacation.

Okay, Monkey, let's go.

Coo-oo-ool!

Um, where are we going, Duck?

(laughs) Quack, quack.

On vacation.

Ducks go somewhere warm in the winter.

It's called vacation.

Really?

I always thought that was called migration.

Migration, smigration.

Let's hit the road.

I'm sorry, Duck, but I'm not going on vacation.

I'm just going home.

You mean, this isn't the letter V

that's supposed to take me on my vacation?

Uh, I guess not.

Oh! Quack, quack.

But I could drive you home.

Uh... okay.

(groans)

Later, Duck, and good luck finding your vacation.

Thanks, Monkey, but I give up.

I'm going home.

Quack.

Huh?

Duck, what's wrong?

Why are you carrying your backpack?

I tried to go on vacation, but I can't find the right V.

The letter V?

Yeah.

Frog, can I move in with you for the winter?

I don't have a roof on my nest.

Hey! Hey, Duck!

I found the V you're looking for!

Oh, that's all right, Bear.

I've given up.

I'm going to move in with Frog for the winter.

Bear, would you care

to point out that V to Duck, hmm?

Look, it's right there.

(all quacking)

DUCK (gasps): The V!

It's made up of ducks, like me!

Quack, quack.

Yes, I forgot that ducks fly in a V formation

when they head somewhere warm for the winter.

It's called migration.

Oh, migration, smigra...

Wait just one minute.

That's migration?

Well, why didn't somebody tell me?

Well, actually, Duck...

(gasps) And look at that.

There's even a space in that V... for me.

Hurry, Duck, you have to catch up with all those other ducks.

Oh, but they're so far away.

I mean, what am I gonna do?

I'll never catch up with them.

We need something to help you swing up there.

Something, something that can go far.

Huh. Swing me up there.

Now, where have I heard that before?

(gasps, quacks)

I know, Monkey's vine.

A vine can swing really far.

Frog!

Do you have any vines around here?

No, but I have all the letters we need

to build a vine.

Oh, thank you, Frog.

Now stand back, 'cause it's time to...

ALL: ...build a word!

(funky dance music playing)

KIDS: Vine!

♪ Yeah, we just built a word
