♪ Wild Kratts! ♪

Chris: We're here in North America.

Winter's on its way,

so it's a good time to look for some warm and fuzzy creatures.

Martin: It's us the Kratt Brothers!

I'm Martin-- Chris: --I'm Chris!

And we're looking for two kinds of animals,

that people love to have around.

Martin: We're looking for dogs--

Chris: --and cats.

Martin: Hey, we gotta checkout this barn here.

(dog barking)

Puppies!

Chris: Kittens!

Cat: (meow)

Cats love to climb just like me.

They climb fences, they climb trees,

and it's those sharp claws that help them do it.

Climbing is one of the amazing powers

of pet cats and wild cats.

Like leopards.

Leopards are master big cat climbers.

They can easily climb tall trees in seconds.

And once they're up there, it's time to chill.

I think I'm a cat person.

Martin: Oh yeah, cats are cool,

but what about dogs?

Hey, hey, hey guys, all right

we got a little pack of puppies!

Oh yeah, the thing I love about dogs is

they love to be together as a group.

That's the basis of the pack.

Dogs are canids like wolves

and they depend on the pack

for protection and comfort.

These puppies love to hang-out with each other.

I'm definitely a dog person. C'mon!

Chris: Imagine if I had cat powers.

Martin: Oh, imagine if I had dog powers.

Martin/Chris: What if?

Martin: Cats and Dogs Part One.

♪ (upbeat music) ♪

Chris: Ahh, back on the African savanna

and this is a great place to start the day.

Martin: Yup, at the old watering hole.

There are the usual suspects.

Rhino! Ready to charge.



Chris: Lion! A whole pride.



Martin: Elephant! Taking a morning bath.

Chris: Giraffe! Scanning the scene.

Hooves the size of dinner plates.

Martin: A congregation of creature power and--

Martin/Chris: A kitty--?

Look out!

(stomps)

Phew! Martin: Whoa--

Martin/Chris: A pet kitty?

Martin: Oh no, someone's pet kitty got lost

on the African savanna.

Aviva: How did a pet kitty get way out here?

Chris: Yeah. We're in the wilderness

really far from the nearest town.

Martin: Living lost and in the wild.

She's so cute and small and vulnerable.

Chris: She'll never survive out here.

We've gotta help her.

Time for a creature rescue.

Martin: You mean... A pet kitty rescue.

(laughter)

Drive close Chris and I'll reach out and grab her.

Um-- Uh-oh.

Remember that rhino? Chris: Yeah.

Martin: Well here she comes!

Martin/Chris: Whoa!! Aaah!

Uaaah! Oof!

Martin: Why are you stopping?

(crunch)

Reverse!

Oooh! There go the tires.

Koki: There goes the engine.

It's totally destroyed!

Martin: Oh, sorry Koki.

Chris: Our Createrra VX couldn't cut it! Uh--.

Martin: Hey, how can a little pet kitty like you

survive out here?

Chris: Wait a second.

Longer legs than a house cat and a more muscular body.

Martin: And that stripe pattern,

that's not your everyday tabby.

Chris: Much fewer stripes,

mostly on the legs and tail.

Those are the markings of a wild species.

This isn't a pet cat, it's--

Martin/Chris: The African wild cat!

Chris: And this wild cat can survive out here.

Martin: Better than us Wild Kratts!

You might not be a pet,

but even a wild kitty still needs a name.

Being a small cat in a big dangerous savanna,

you've got to have your wits about you.

Wits! Witty!

That's it! Witty the Wild Kitty!

Witty: (growls)

Martin: What's up?

Chris: A jackal, a wild dog.

Classic defensive behaviour.

Puff up and stand sideways to look bigger.

Martin: But the jackal isn't fooled...

Dog chases cat.

Classic dog behaviour.

Chris: Whoa, did you see that cat climb?

Classic cat behavior.

Martin: Did you see the dog not climb?

Classic dog behavior.

Jimmy Z: Uh guys, we're getting cat and dog questions.

Lots!

Koki!

Koki: Did you see the Createrra?

I've gotta fix it, you take the questions.

Jimmy Z: But we're getting flooded!

Aviva: I'll help.

Whoa! Kids really love cats and dogs.

Let's dig into it.

Nina: Why do dogs chase cats?

Aviva: Hmhmhm?

Javier: How come dogs can't climb?

Jimmy Z: Errrrrr?

Aviva: Bros you getting this?

Lots of cat and dog questions.

Steven: Do cats always land on their feet?

Scarlett: Why does my dog stick his tongue out

when it's hot outside?

Yi: Do all cats purr?

Leo: Do you like cats better?

Audrey: Or dogs?

Martin: Well I guess I'm more of a dog person.

Chris: And me, a cat person.

Leo: Like that jackal, our dog chases our cat but--

Do cats ever chase dogs?

Chris: Uh--

I think this caracal might answer that.

Big dogs chase small cats,

but when the cat is close to the size of the dog--

Cat chases dog!

Scarlett: Whoa, cats chase dogs too?!

Martin: Yup.

Yi: A jackal is a dog?

Chris: Sure is.

Audrey: Why does my dog love me so much?

Martin: Dogs are pack animals

who like to show affection to their friends.

Yi: Why does my cat act so cool?

Chris: Cats are pretty independent,

so they seem confident and cool.

Martin: These are great questions.

We have so much to learn about cats and dogs.

♪ (suspenseful music) ♪

Zach: Hmmm, those little kiddies are so into cats and dogs.

What if I capture all the wild ones in the world

and sell them as special pets?

Everybody will buy one or two

(gasps) or even three of each.

I'll make zillion's of dollars!

(evil laughter)

Time to set some traps.

Koki: Totally wrecked, so many repairs!

Gotta fix it, gotta fix it.

Aviva: Dog chases cat,

cat chases dog.

Maybe the wild cat, wild dog relationship

isn't as simple as we thought.

Chris: Sounds like we've got some creature adventuring to do!

But first, here's a simple creature quiz.

Who do you like best?

Cats?

Martin: Or dogs?

I'm definitely a dog dude.

Aviva: Do you mean wild dogs and cats?

Or pet dogs and cats?

Martin: Uh, are we the Wild Kratts

or the Pet Kratts?

Wild of course!

Chris: Although the pet ones have a lot in common

with the wild ones.

Martin: Yeah well, you can definitely like both,

but which do you like better?

Even if it's just a little better.

Dogs?

Chris: Or cats?

Jimmy Z: Uhh, I don't know.

Martin: Who do you like?

Koki: Ughh, are foxes wild dogs?

Martin: Well, like dogs they are members of the canid family,

so what we're calling wild dogs today are canids.

Chris: So that's dogs, jackals and foxes.

Koki: Well, I love foxes so I guess then I'm a dog person.

Aviva: Okay, so it looks like

Koki and foxes are on Team Dog.

Chris: What about you Aviva?

Aviva: Well, I do like tigers.

The cubs are soooo cute

and the mom's so beautiful and powerful.

Jimmy Z: Ooh, and I like those little dogs that g*ng up

and chase the tigers.

Aviva: Hey, that's not fair,

so maybe I am a cat person?

Martin: Yeah those little Indian wild dogs called dholes

will team up to chase one of the biggest cats.

Jimmy Z: Yeah, I like dholes and coyotes too!

So I'm down with dogs.

Aviva: Hmmm, I can't decide.

This is a big decision.

I have to learn more.

Martin: Well then let's get adventuring,

and find some more wild cats and wild dogs.

C'mon!

Zach: Okay Zachbots, you know what to do.

Operation Dog and Cat Capture unleashed.

(evil laughter)

♪ (suspenseful music) ♪

♪ ♪

♪ (energetic music) ♪

Ready.

Good catch!

(evil laughter)

Martin: How about this, whatever we find first,

a new dog or a new cat,

is what we adventure with today.

Chris: Okay, you're on!

Martin: Hmmm--

Who could it be?

Yes! It's dogs!

Chris: Oh no!

Martin: African wild dogs!

A whole pack. (laughter)

That's why I love wild dogs.

They run in a big pack.

They have fun together.

C'mon let's hop in the Createrra.

Jimmy Z: Uhh, you really wrecked it, remember?

Chris: Right.

Martin: Oh yeah. Koki: (honking) But I--

Fixed it!

Aviva: How did you fix it so fast?

Koki: Repair power.

Martin: Way to go!

Let the wild dog adventure begin.

Chris: Huh?

Caracal!

What a catch.

You can't ignore the spectacular leaping ability of cats.

Cats jump higher than dogs.

Martin: C'mon Chris, we gotta go!

The pack is taking off.

Chris: Oh, but this caracal just caught a bird out of mid-air.

Martin: Cool cat, but it's a dog day today.

Chris: Aw, catch ya later caracal.

Hey wait up!

Aviva: It's really hot out here.

Martin: Sure is, but these dogs know how to cool off

after a long run in the savanna sun.

They pant.

See they stick their tongues out

to release the heat

and cool their body temperature.

Plus with a drink from the watering hole,

it's a great way for them to b*at the heat.

African wild dogs are so great.

Aviva, I really, really need an African wild dog power suit.

Aviva: I've got my mobile invention kit all set-up,

and I'm getting a jump start

from past canid power suit programming,

like coyote, Arctic wolf and dhole.

I'm using what we've learned canids have in common.

One: sensitive nose with great sense of smell,

like the dingo.

Two: Claws for gripping and digging,

like the bat eared fox.

Three: Good endurance running ability,

like the gray wolf.

Four: Vocalizations like the Arctic wolf.

And five: Togetherness and a real team spirit,

just like the dhole.

In other words, pack behavior.

Martin: And we've got a pack of

African wild dogs here.

Koki: So, what's original about the wild dogs?

Martin: Well the amazing patterns for one.

Swirl, patches, swishes.

It's like splashes of paint.

That's why African wild dogs are also called--

Chris: (panting) Panting dogs!

Martin: (chuckles) No, not panting dogs.

Chris: I said painted dogs!

Martin: Yeah! Painted dogs.

Because their patterns look painted on,

each one unique.

Oh, and they're going swimming!

Uh-oh! Don't wash the paint off!

(laughter)

Dogs are playful swimmers.

Oh, this swimming bro definitely likes dogs.

Chris: Whoa, that dog found a croc.

Crocodile: (hisses)

Martin: That's how wild dogs deal with predator and prey,

as a team.

Chris: They come in at all different angles.

Dogs: (growling)

Martin: Look out!

Chris: Even a huge croc

can't defend teeth coming in

from every direction.

Martin: Alone, a dog is one set of teeth,

but as a pack, they can be twelve.

Chris: Gotta admit, African wild dogs,

aka painted dogs,

are awesome!

Zach: Wait, what? Painting dogs?

(gasps) Dogs that can paint.

Everyone will want one!

I'll sell them for so much money!

(evil laughter)

Aviva: These African wild dogs are so inspiring.

I just need to add some African wild dog fur

to get those unique wild dog instincts

and cool fur patterns, and--

African wild dog power programming complete!

Chris: I'll give it a try.

Martin: Thank you very much.

Chris: Insert Wild dog Power Disc!

Martin: Touch Wild dog!

Martin/Chris: Activate Wild Dog Powers!

♪ (dramatic music) ♪

Yeah!

Martin: Woo-hoo!!!

You look like a dog person to me.

Chris: Hey, I activated wild dog powers,

but I'm still a cat person.

Martin: Hey, I like your patch there.

Chris: Nice swirl and swoosh.

Martin: Ooh, thanks.

Koki: Hey bros, it looks like the pack of wild dogs

have returned to their den site.

Martin: (gasps) Could a den site mean--

Puppies?

Aviva: They're so cute.

Martin: I love wild dog puppies.

Chris: Okay, I admit it, puppies are cute.

Done yet?

Martin: Done? I still have to name them all.

Okay, and I'll name you Swish,

oh-oh calling you Splash--

And you Pumpkin Face.

Dogs: (yipping/chirping)

Chris: Hey, the wild dogs are talking about hunting.

Dogs: (yipping/chirping)

That's what they're saying with those sounds.

We're going hunting.

Martin: Oh yeah.

Martin/Chris: (wild dog calls)

Dog: (chirping)

Martin: Aw, I don't want to stay home.

I don't want to be the babysitter.

Chris: You've been chosen.

One dog is always chosen to stay behind.

Aviva: To take care of the pups

and guard them from danger, right?

Chris: Right!

Martin: Oh yeah, I guess I don't mind.

This could be fun.

Koki: Martin as a puppysitter?

Oh, this'll be interesting! (chuckles)

Chris: Gotta admit, running with a pack of

wild dogs is pretty cool.

No cat has this long distance running power.

Martin: Wait! Swish!

Get back here!

Sorry about that.

Aviva: Martin, behind you!

Snake: (hisses)

Martin: Whoa! Get outta there.

Pumpkin Face let it go!

Cobra's bite!

Ooh that was close.

Who knew taking care of so many puppies could be so hard.

Auuuu! Pumpkin face!

Aviva/Koki/Jimmy Z: (laughter)

Chris: Whoa, uhhh!

Zach: Yes!

Chris: (struggling) Zach: Got one. A wild dog!

Chris: (struggling) Uh, make that a Wild Kratt.

Zach: Chris?

Why are you pretending to be a wild dog?

Chris: I activated wild dog power to learn more about them.

Zach: So annoying!

Hmmmm, (gasps) I know!

Dogs chase cats, right?

Chris: Yeah?!

Zach: Now shake it.

Not you, him!

Upside down.

Chris: Whoa, ughhhhhhh.

Oah!

Zach: It's helpful that you arrange your

power discs alphabetically.

Chris: That way I can find any disc easily.

Zach: As can I.

"C" for cat.

Cheetah.

Ah Chris, you like kitty's, right?

Activate animal--um--ness,

I'll hold on to these power discs for you.

(evil laughter)

Chris: Touch cheetah.

I guess I'm activating cheetah powers.

Oh, (chuckles)

I've activated a cat power suit right in front of--

a pack of wild dogs!

Zach: (laughter) I got you good!

Bye-bye.

♪ (fast boogie music) ♪

Chris: Time for cheetah speed!

(whoosh)

Phew, can't b*at cat speed in a sprint!

(dogs chirping)

But African wild dogs are endurance runners.

They can run all--day--looooong!

Martin: (yawns)

That's right pups,

enjoy your puppy dreams,

'cause this wild dog is watching over you.

(gasps) I hear something,

(sniffs) smell something.

Dogs have great noses!

I smell--

(gasps) Leopard!

Jimmy Z: An African Leopard was right next to us the whole time?

Aviva: Leopards are the masters of stealth and surprise.

Martin: Uh-oh.

(alarm call)

That must be a wild dog alarm call.

(alarm call)

Run to the den, go, go!

This is why wild dogs always leave

a babysitter behind in the den.

Hurry, hurry.

But Leopard remember, dog chases cat.

Uh, wait a second.

A cat has five weapons.

Teeth, plus four sets of claws.

One dog only has one w*apon, teeth.

Leopard: (growls)

Marting: Ahhh, cat chases dog--

Yipe, Yipe, Yipe--

Into the den!

Leopard: (growls)

Koki: Phew, that was a close one.

Martin: (sighs) Well guys, I'm no match

for that big cat on my own.

I gotta admit-- cats are cool.

Chris: Uah! Cheetahs are the fastest,

but wild dogs just keep on running.

I gotta deactivate.

I gotta admit, you dogs have

incredible running power.

Zach: Nicely done, Chris.

Those pricey dogs are standing on my net.

All I have to do is drop my hand

and my Zachbot will pull the net.

One thing you can always count on,

dogs chase cats! (evil laughter)

Chris: Uh Zach, not always!

Look behind you!

Lions: (growling)

Chris: Those two huge cats want to chase wild dogs,

and you and your bots are in the way.

Zach: Ummm, ahhhh,

Zachbots stop them!

Lions: (growls)

Chris: Whoa, that's how a cat can att*ck,

using its claw power,

they pounce with their sharp claws,

grab the head with their teeth and front paws,

and scratch the belly with their hind claws.

Oh-ho!

Zach: I do not like big cats.

Chris: Uh Zach,

I don't think those wild dogs are too happy

with you trying to trap them.

Zach: Ahhhhh, I don't like big dogs either!

Chris: Wild dogs and wild cats aren't pets.

They belong living free and in the wild.

Zach: I gotta get out of here!

Lions: (growls) Chris: My power discs!

Got it.

Zach: Uh-oh, you haven't seen the last of me--

Wahhhhh!!!!

Chris: You wild dogs are tough,

but you can't take on two lions.

Aviva: Chris, a leopard's trapped

Martin and the pups in the den.

Koki: And us in the Createrra. Jimmy Z: Help!

Chris: I'll be right there

with the power of the pack!

Leopard: (growls)

Chris: Hello big cat.

Martin: Chris!

Chris: A lone wild dog is no match for a leopard,

but together--

Dogs: (growling)

Leopard: (growls)

Chris: Dog chases cat.

Martin: That's dog power!

Chris: Classic cat escape-- climb a tree.

Cats have sharp claws, so cats can climb,

but dogs have dull claws.

Great for traction on those long distant runs,

but no good for climbing.

I love climbing, so I'm still a cat person.

Martin: Chris! Help!

Chris: Coming bro!

Martin, what's wrong?

Martin: I'm being overwhelmed by puppy power.

(chuckles)

Pumpkin face deactivated me.

With friends like these,

I'm definitely a dog person.

Chris: Ooof--oh Swish, you deactivated me!

Martin: How cute is puppy power?

Chris: Pretty cute.

Martin: What an amazing wild dog adventure.

Chris: Yeah, and this pack of Wild Kratts

needs to do some more creature adventuring.

Aviva: Yeah, and I want to see more cats and dogs.

Martin: More dogs? Chris: More cats?

What are we waiting for?

Aviva: Let's hit the creature trail.

Chris: Hey, that's my line. Jimmy Z: (laughter)

Martin: Later African wild dogs

and wild cat!

Zach: Auugggghh! So annoying!

Zach: I don't want dogs anymore.

No dogs big or small.

No big cats either!

But I'm not done yet.

I want small cats.

Calling all Zachbots,

forget the dogs!

Now, I only want cats and small ones,

small cats!



Exactly!

(evil laughter)

And I'm not leaving here without a couple of

itty-bitty kitties.

Koki: Hey guys, we have another question.

and it's a doozy.

Warren: Hey Wild Kratts, who's cuter?

Puppies or kittens?

All: Whoa!

Aviva: That is a tough question.

Chris: It could be the toughest creature question

we've ever gotten.

Martin: Well, on our adventures

we've met a lot of cute puppies.

Pumpkin Face,

Little Howler,

Little Red.

Jimmy Z: And Baby Tooth and Adapto.

All: Awwww!

Chris: And on the kitten side,

there's Spotswat,

Shadow,

Pounce More.

Aviva: Baby Blue and Little Cubby.

Koki: So who's cuter?

All: Awww.

Aviva/Jimmy Z: It's a tie!

Martin: I'm still a dog person,

but maybe cats could convince me.

Chris: Show me a canid that can climb,

then I'll think about being a dog person.

Jimmy Z: I'm devoted to dogs.

Totally devoted.

Aviva: (sighs) I am confused.

Completely confused.

Who do I like better?

Koki: How come we haven't seen any foxes yet?

Martin: You mean like the bat-eared fox?

Koki: Fox? Jimmy Z: Huh?

Aviva: What? Chris: Where?

Martin: There.



Koki: Whoa, I love foxes!

With their smooshy little faces and their big ears.

Martin: And this species has really big ears,

so it's called the bat-eared fox.

Oh and I'll name this particular one...

Batsox.

Koki: Batsox, the bat-eared fox?

Martin: Uh huh, yeah.

Aviva: Wait a sec.

Are sure foxes are dogs?

They move kind of like cats,

but have those little doggie faces.

Martin: True. Somewhat catlike,

but foxes are definitely with the dogs.

In the canid family!

Koki: He's looking for termites at the mound.

Aviva: Wait, is that mound fritzing?

Jimmy Z: It's not a mound!

It's a video projection!

Chris: From an upside down Zachbot!

Koki: Batsox look out!

Noooo!

Aviva: Witty the wild kitty watch out!

(meow!)

Chris: Aaagh!

I need cat jumping powers!

Jimmy Z: They're taking them to Zach's plane!

All: Nooooo!

Zach: I told you, you hadn't seen the last of me!

(evil laughter)

Martin: We have to get them back!

Aviva: We really do, because

I think Witty is a Mom.

Kittens: (crying)

Aviva: And these are her kittens.

Koki: We really--

Jimmy Z: Really--

Chris: Really--

Martin: --have to get Witty back!

Kitty: (mews)

Zach: Two more small cats.

The kiddies will love this kitty.

Owww, it nipped me!

Aaagr!

Pose beam!

♪ (dramatic music) ♪

(zap-zap)

Better!

Good thing I borrowed Donita's pose beam.

Yeah, the kids'll love these kitties.

Put them in the collection!



That's a lotta cats!



Koki: We can't leave these little kittens.

Jimmy Z: But we can't take them with us either!

Chris: Kittens are left behind by wild cat mom's,

parked in a safe place.

Martin: Yeah but that's just for a short amount of time

while she's out hunting.

Aviva: We don't know how long it will take

for our creature rescue.

Koki: Well then, I'm going to stay and protect them.

Jimmy Z: Me too!

In the instant safari camp.

We'll kittensit!

Koki: Hurry! Go save Witty and Batsox!

(fa-woosh)

(beeping)

Chris: Two Zachbots straight ahead.

Martin: Uhhh-- there!

Heading to Zach's plane.

We can't let 'em get away.

Aviva: Get ready guys!

♪ (adventurous music) ♪

♪ ♪

Zach: Express speed!

Martin: Hold it! Martin/Chris: Uaaah, uuf!

Aviva: Whoa, he's gone supersonic.

Can't lose him.



Martin: Ahh.

Hold it Zach!

Zach: You Wild rats shouldn't be here.

Chris: That's Wild Kratts.

Hand over Witty the wild kitty.

Zach: Witty the what-whatty?

Martin: And Batsox, the bat-eared fox.

Zach: Ah, am I supposed to know who that is?

Chris: Oh no! He's captured so many.

Martin: Wild cats,

dogs, foxes.

Zach: Dogs?

Foxes?

They're cats. All cats!

Aren't you two the "animal experts"?

Martin: Uh-- Martin/Chris: Yeah.

Chris: First of all, wild cats do not make good pets.

They're wild animals.

Second, this is a cat.

See its long slender body

and its retractable claws?

Martin: While this fox,

and Amazon bush dog...

they have blunt claws that are always out,

for digging and grip when running.

Plus, you can learn to recognize cats and dogs

from their general appearance.

Dog. Chris: Cat.

And now to point out number three,

we're going to un-pose beam them.

Martin: Give us the pose beamer.

Zach: Not gonna happen.

Stop the plane!

Martin/Chris: Oof.

Zach: What floor?

Martin/Chris: Huh?

Zach: Ok...ground floor!

(evil laughter) Martin/Chris: Whooaaaah!

Zach: Going down!

Martin/Chris: Aaaahhh!

Chris: Martin, do you have anything in your pockets

to break our fall?

Martin: Yeah...

(struggling)

Auto inflatable pink flamingo pool floaty?

Chris: What?

Martin/Chris: Aaaahhhh !!!

Aah! Uh!

Aviva: Are you guys alright?

Chris: Yeah, we're ok.

Aviva: Whew, good!

Hey, Koki, Jimmy, how are you doing?

Koki: All good here.

Jimmy and the kittens are sleeping.

Kitten-sitting is easy.

What about you?

Aviva: Zach, threw the bro's out his plane.

On my way to get them.

Martin: Well get here quick, because you gotta meet

and spotted leopards.

Aviva: Interesting,

roaring cats can't purr.

Martin: But a clouded leopard kitten can.

Aviva: This is awesome!

Chris: That'll help us rescue those cats and dogs

on Zach's plane.

Chris: Ok, how about this wow fact,

the clouded leopard has the largest canine teeth

Martin: Well the sand cat, Chris: --and the fennec fox--

Chris: The big ears let body heat

Chris: The amazing answer is that most pet cats

Both parents take care of the kits.

Jimmy Z: That's right. Koki: Why pick just one?

Chris: When there are so many!

Amazon bush dog,

ocelot, tiger--

Martin: --coyote, margay, bobcat.

Chris: Just some of the species of wild cats.

Martin: And species of wild dogs and foxes

in the creature world.

Chris: Living free and in the wild!

Martin: That's where they all belong.

So, I guess now I'm a cat person.

Chris: And now I'm a dog person.

Martin: Oh yeah, there's so much to learn

about these amazing groups of animals.

Cats--. Chris: --and dogs.

Martin: Now, you know all those

wild cats and wild dogs we saw,

they've got so much in common

with our pet cats and dogs.

Chris: And they have similar powers and behaviours

of their wild cousins.

You know how your dog likes to dig?

That's a wild behaviour

that comes straight from wolves.

It's called food caching.

They'll dig a hole, put the food inside

and then cover it up, saving it for later

and protecting it from other animals.

Martin: Dogs have an amazing sense of smell.

That nose helps them find whatever they bury.

A dog's sense of smell can be

thousands of times greater than a human's.

And wild canids, like wolves,

have an even stronger sense of smell.

That's one of the coolest things

about the dog family.

Chris: And you know your pet cat

has a lot more in common

with wild cats then you'd think.
