Like I said, my Uncle Daz
wasn't using it anyway.

If we can get Henry to use it,
we got half our couch back.

Some chance.

I got it all figured out, Marco.

It's just a question
of conditioning.

Watch.

Come on. Go in, Henry.

In your new home.

Come on, Henry.

Chet,
you gotta get him turned on or something.

I know.

Here you go, Henry. Huh?

Okay.

Now, Henry,

I want you to go get it
in your new home.

Go on, Henry. Go on, buddy.

Get in there, Henry.

Maybe he needs a little
bit more conditioning.

Ah. Don't worry about it,
pal. I'm going to sell him yet.

Now, Henry,
I want you to get this...

Henry! Come here, Henry.

Come on. Henry!
Get in here, will you?

Henry, come on.

We just got a new battalion chief,
that's all.

Miller's gotten reassigned
up to Operations.

Oh, yeah? Who's replacing him?

McConnike.

JOHNNY: Yeah?

When I was an engineer,
he was my captain.

Oh, I'm telling you,
the day that man made battalion chief

and went walking out
that door...

Oh, he's a real hard nose, huh?

I knew he'd catch up
to me again.

All right, all right.
Now, the thing to do here

is to remain professional.

We can cope with this if we
remain calm and professional.

Just cool, that's it.

Cool, yep, that's it, that's it.

[STANLEY MUTTERING]

What? You're just going
to sit there? All right.

Don't bother getting out.

I'll do it myself!

[MUTTERING]

Hello, ma'am. Can I help you?

No, I can handle it
just fine, thank you.

I need the key.

Thank you.

ATTENDANT:
Having some trouble there?

No, no, I'm just fine.

It doesn't work.

[GRUNTING]

George, this isn't
going to work.

I'm not the Bionic Woman,
you know.

I can't do everything.
You have to move up.

You wanna watch that hose,
though. Watch the hose there!

No! Wait!
George, that's too far!

Go back.

Now, wait a minute,
wait a minute, wait a minute.

George, are you trying to
make me look stupid or what?

You could break the man's hose.

Go up more, about 3 feet.

George! Wait a minute! Okay,
hold that! Come on!

You idiot! Can't you
do anything right?

All right, bring it back.

Whoa!

[SIRENS WAILING]

DISPATCHER ON RADIO:

toxic chemicals are stored
in a tanker.

Use caution.

KELLY ON RADIO: Squad 51,
this is Rampart. Can you send me some EKG?

JOHNNY ON RADIO:

We're sending you a strip.
Vitals to follow.

Pulse is 160. The victim
is in extreme pain, Rampart.

[INTERCOM BEEPING]

This patient is in V-fib.

Rampart, we have lost the
victim's pulse. Beginning CPR.

[RAPID BEEPING]

We're defibrillating victim,
Rampart.

Rampart, we've defibrillated
victim. Decent sinus rhythm.

JOE ON RADIO: Administer 2 amps
sodium bicarb and insert an airway.

KELLY ON RADIO: Start an IV,

DIXIE: Squad 51, continue monitoring
Vitals and transport immediately.

JOHNNY ON RADIO:
We're on our way, Rampart.

[SIREN WAILING]

Come on.

What's the problem here?

Oh, it's under control now.

I've been putting this on her.

Uh-huh.
It's kind of dirty there.

Better pull a couple of
inch-and-a-halves. Wash this gas down.

[EXCLAIMS] Hurt
any place else here?

Well, isn't that enough?
My head is splitting.

Here you go.

I'm going to dress it down
here. How did this happen?

Oh, this idiot.

She got hit in the head
by the truck.

He backed up
and the mirror hit her.

He wasn't looking
where he was going.

Okay, you wanna be still here.

Ouch!

What? Hey.

It just looks superficial.

You in charge here?

Yeah, yeah. But the owner,
that's Mr. Nelson,

he's on his way over now.

You got the main power shut off?

Yeah, easy. First thing I
did. Wanna see it? Come on.

Yeah. Better had.

Look, what we'll do is, we'll dress
this and then we're gonna take you

into Rampart General
Hospital, if that's okay.

They'll just check you out.
Just to make sure.

Yeah, well, you better.

This is the switch box,
and that's what I did.

Good deal. We'll turn it on again
once we get the pump shut off.

Can I have the key there,
please? Yeah. Right.

Which one goes to the pump?

Ah, it's this little one.

Thank you.

Everything under control?

Yeah, everything's fine.
She's got a superficial cut.

We're going to take her
into Rampart just to be sure.

Good.

Okay, ma'am. Maybe you can
get up here and we'll get you...

I'm not an invalid. I can walk.

Marco! Yeah.

I want you to open the pump
and close the shut-off valve,

so we can turn
the power back on.

Okay, Cap. Thank you.

You let this happen,
you little squirt.

It's your fault! It's your station,
isn't it?

Yeah. I'm going to sue you

for having unsafe equipment.

I guess you're the owner.

I'm the owner, yeah.

Okay, well, things are not as
bad as they could have been.

She could have been
seriously injured.

She's just got a little
superficial cut here.

We took all the gasoline,
washed it off.

So everything's okay.

Why is the power off?

One little pump gets damaged,

they shut down
the whole station.

I can't operate like that.

The firemen made me do it.

I wouldn't have done it,

but they wanted to
get the gas out of there.

Anybody talking to you,
chowder-head?

All right, fine.

Gas is washed up. Let's
get back in business.

No!

Hey!

[STANLEY SHOUTING]

You all right?
Huh? You all right?

Look at me, look at me. Yeah,
I'm okay, I'm fine.

Okay. How are your hands? Marco,
how are you?

Yeah, I'm okay. I'm...
Cap, I'm okay.

But I wouldn't want
to try it again.

How are your hands?

They're okay.

Roy, you better
get him into Rampart

and have him checked out,
all right?

Okay, let me just check
his eyes and see...

I'll do that if you want.

Okay, yeah. Why don't you
just lay your head back here?

Here,
I'll take off your helmet. All right.

Just take off your
helmet there. Okay.

Let me see your hands,
let me see your hands. Okay.

All right. Here,
go ahead, go on in.

I'll take the squad on in.

I'm going to take
the squad in, Cap.

STANLEY: Right.

All right, I got it.

All right.

[STAMMERING] I guess
that was my fault.

I... I turned
that power back on.

It sure was, Mister.

You can bloody well be thankful
nobody was seriously hurt.

Yeah, well, you know, I'd like to do
something to kind of make amends.

Hey,
maybe now we can turn the pumps back on,

I'll fill your t*nk. Free!

Well, what are you looking at?

Go on, turn that power back on.

DIXIE: Room 2.

Do you mean to tell me it takes
two paramedics and one firefighter

to bring in one woman
with one bump on her head?

We were lucky we didn't bring
in the whole crew on this one.

Oh, one of those kind,
huh? Yeah.

Hey, Doc. No talking to firemen

unless the building
is in flames.

Dix, didn't you read
the newest directives?

What directive is this?

Our new administrator.

So far we've had seven
memos on increased efficiency.

That all x-rays must
now be in group pictures.

The only memo I want is
the one outlawing residents.

Especially the comedians.

Who's being funny?

Doc, this is business.

Yeah, see,
Marco Lopez here, he...

He was holding on to some wires
and somebody put the power on.

Oh, it was a great sight. You have seen it.
His hair was standing straight up on end.

How do you feel, Marco?

Oh, I feel fine, Doc. I just wish it
had happened to somebody else.

Hey. Like him, for example.

Did you get hurt here?
Yeah, here.

You think he'll ever be
able to play again, Doc?

[CHUCKLES]

Let's go into Room 4.
You can come, too.

Oh, thanks.

[CLEARING THROAT]
That's nice of him.

See you.

Hi, Marco. Hi, Doc.

Hey, Doc.

Hi, Dix. Hi.

Anything urgent happening?
I'm on my way up to Elgin's office

for his meeting on staff costs.

Forget it, Kel.
It's been postponed...

Postponed?

But I rescheduled my whole
morning to accommodate him.

Until 4:00 this afternoon.

That's impossible.
I've got rounds then.

Well, I told that
to his secretary,

and she said it was the
only time they'd see you.

At 4:00.

[sums]

Well, if he wants to
see me at 4:00,

he'll have to be lying on a
Treatment Room table at the time.

Well, if he is,
you may just want to discuss this.

What?

Well, all requisitions for supplies
must now be countersigned

by the head
of my department, you,

and the administrator, Elgin.

You've got to be kidding!

Yeah, this is Dr. Brackett.
Let me speak to Elgin.

Good luck.

Well, when he gets
off the phone,

will you tell him to call me?
It's urgent.

Kel, if you break the phone,
it'll take us two months to get a new one.

You know, Dix,

that just may be
the best idea you ever had.

[WHIRRING]

Hey, what... What are you doing?

Never mind, leave me alone.

I've got to finish this up.

The floor was waxed
yesterday by B shift.

I know, but we've got
a new battalion chief

and the Captain thinks
he's coming in anytime.

So what? We don't use
the floors for firefighting,

or for rescues, for that matter.

Marco, how are you? Fine.

Look, I want you and Johnny to
get to work on the dorm in there.

Turn all the bedding,
and then, Roy,

you and, and, and... Kelly.

Kelly, get to work
with the buffer in there.

John,
just... How's your log? Is it in shape?

What about the woman in
the gas station? Did she...

Cap! Cap! Wait a
minute. We just got here.

Cap, what is all this
about McConnike?

Don't ask. Just don't ask.

Oh, and will somebody please
do something about Henry?

[WHIRRING]

What are you doing?

RAYMOND: Okay, honey. Now,
this is the way you do it.

SANDY: Okay. I'm watching.

[SANDY EXCLAIMS]

See? You think you can do that?

Yeah, I'll try.

Now, be very careful
getting hold of this grip,

because I don't want you to put
your finger on the trigger accidentally.

This is a lethal w*apon,
and don't you forget it.

I won't.

Okay. Now, easy, slow and easy.

Like that? That's it.

Put your hand up there.

Okay. Good girl.

Now just press the trigger,
right? Right.

[EXCLAIMS] Wonderful!

Okay. Now, down to the next one.

Like that? That's right.

Good. Oh!

Okay. Don't be afraid of it.

Okay. One more right here?

Fine.

[LAUGHING]

You know, honey,
when we get this room finished,

it's really going to be a trip.

You're not a-kidding.

[SANDY EXCLAIMING]

Is this how you want it, honey?

Yeah, that's fine. Just fine.

Now, come on over here
and help me out.

Okay, wait till I put
this thing down.

[PNEUMATIC g*n sh**t]
Oh! Oh, God!

[SIREN WAILING]

It was an accident!

We were using the g*n

in there and it went off
and it hit him in the chest.

There's a nail sticking
out of his chest.

Okay,
just relax. Settle down. He's in there.

Oh, he's...

Hurry UP!

Oh!

JOHNNY ON RADIO:
Rampart. This is County 51.

Go ahead, 51.

Rampart, we have a male,
approximately 65 years old.

Apparently,
he's been hit in the chest

with a nail by a pneumatic g*n.

Semiconscious.
Superficial bleeding.

SANDY: Oh, God.

Why so little bleeding?

A wound there should
produce a heavy flow of blood.

You think it could be
a pneumothorax?

description of the wound itself?

JOHNNY: Standby, Rampart.

[SANDY EXCLAIMING]

[GASPS] It's the pacemaker.

The nail hit him
in his pacemaker.

Rampart, it's a...

He had an att*ck
a couple of years ago,

and they put that thing in...

Ma'am, will you just relax?

[ALL CHATTERING]

Just relax.

Oh, God.

Outside of superficial bleeding,

there are no signs of trauma.

I got a pulse of 35,
respirations are 12.

JOHNNY: Rampart,
pulse is 35, respirations 12.

BP is 80, systolic by palpation.

Standby for EKG.

Hmm.

heart block.

Start an IV D5W with
a slow isoproterenol drip.

Administer 6 liters O2.

Transport as soon as
possible and monitor closely.

Listen,
can one of you guys go get our oxygen?

It's in the right front bay,

right behind the cab, okay?

Johnny, I'm gonna go
into the lower arm here,

because they want to
start an antecubital later on.

Okay.

Is there anything I can do?

Is he going to be okay?

Yeah, he's going to be fine,
he's going to be fine.

Just calm down, all right?

Listen, we're going to be
taking him to Rampart General.

If you want to
go with us, it's okay,

but you're gonna have to ride in
the front of the ambulance, all right?

Okay, 0 Kay-

All right. Just take it
easy. He's going to be fine.

Ah! Good deal. Thanks, Sonny.

Then you get these
back to me, stat.

I want him in Room 4.

I'll get the door.

Uh-uh, no, no, no.

I'm sorry. Only staff in there.

But he's my husband.

What happened was my fault.

No, no,
no. He's going to be just fine.

I don't want you to
worry about a thing.

Why don't we go fill out
some papers? Come on.

But you don't understand.

If something happens to him,

I don't know
what I'm going to do.

He's almost like a father to me.

Yeah, well, come on with me.

I'll show you what to do.

Doc... JOE: Yeah.

You need me for anything else?

No, that's fine.

[HEART MONITOR BEEPING]

Vitals are holding okay.

Looks like we were right, Mike.

He has third-degree heart block,

secondary to pacemaker failure.

I'm going to insert
a transvenous pacing wire.

Get a chest x-ray, stat.

Alert OR. Tell them the
patient's coming up for surgery.

NURSE: Right away, Doctor.

Where am I?

Take it easy, Mr. Foster.

My chest hurts like blazes.

Hey, look, everything's
gonna be okay.

You're at Rampart Emergency.

Honestly,
everything's just fine.

Sandy, my wife.

She's going to
be really worried.

WOMAN ON PA: Dr. Baker, report to
surgery. Dr. Baker, report to surgery.

Dixie, have you seen Johnny?

Yeah, he's in the lounge with
the gal whose husband got hurt.

Any news on him?

Yeah, he's going to be fine.

Oh, good. That's the kind
of news we like to hear, huh?

[EXCLAIMS] Here, take this.

Right.

Dix, OR's going to need
those admission forms.

I'll route them
up there for you.

A resident offering
to do paperwork?

Uh-oh.

MIKE: Looks like the meeting
with Elgin didn't go too well.

What meeting?

I rearrange my
whole schedule again,

and when I get up there,
his secretary...

Told you the meeting would
have to be rescheduled again.

Yeah, right. Some administrator!

He's trying to run a hospital

and he can't even get
his own schedule organized.

Yeah, okay. Would you sign here,
here, and here?

Three boxes of file folders?

Mmm-hmm. And I only need one.

What?

Elgin's instituted cost-cutting.

I need to ask for three
to get one.

[sums]

Compared to him,
Elgin's a pushover.

[LAUGHS]

CHET: Henry! Come on, buddy.

Henry! Come on, buddy.

Come on, Henry.

You know, Chet,

you look more comfortable
in there than Henry would.

STANLEY: All right, everybody,
I just talked to Captain Johnson at Eights.

Says McConnike was just there.

He pulled an inspection.

Now, he's working
his way this way

and he's going to
be here anytime.

CHET: Really tore up
Eights, huh, Cap?

Kelly,
will you get out of that doghouse?

And one of you
do something about Henry.

Roy...

Roy, this McConnike, he must really
be some terrible monster or something.

I mean, I've never seen
the Captain so upset.

Well, we're just gonna
have to learn to live with it.

After the first inspection,
things should clear up a little.

Yeah, but, see,
don't you think it's kind of funny

that no one else in the
battalion is worried about him?

I mean, if he was really
that terrible of a guy,

wouldn't somebody else
be talking about him?

Oh, not necessarily. The
Captain served with him firsthand,

the Captain should know.

Well, if that's...
Okay, that's another thing.

How come the Captain
can't tell us what he did?

Well, maybe he just doesn't
want us overreacting.

So that's why he's overreacting?

STANLEY: He's here,
he's here! Let's move it.

Let's go, let's go, let's go!

Oh, come on, you guys.
For crying...

That's my hat!

[ALL YELLING]

This does not fit!

Attention! Hut!

I told you it doesn't fit.

Morning, Hank. Morning, Chief.

Station 51, all present.

All right, then
let's get on with it.

All right. This is our engineer,
Mike Stoker.

Glad to meet you, Mike.

Firefighter Marco Lopez.

Lopez.

Firefighter Chet Kelly.

Kelly.

Our two paramedics, John Gage...

Gage.

And Roy DeSoto.

DeSoto.

Now, if you'd like
to inspect the station...

Oh, I don't think
that'
be necessary.

I imagine you've got
everything pretty well in hand.

I just thought you guys would
like to get a look at the new Chief.

I know how it is.

Well, Hank,
great to meet your crew. Sir.

And I look forward
to Friday's drill.

[STAMMERING] Friday's drill? Oh,
at the movie studio. Yes, sir.

Yes, sir. Looking forward to it.

I put three coats of wax on the
floor and he never even looked at it.

That guy was a nice guy.

[ALL CHATTERING]

I don't know about you guys,
but I think he's a neat guy.

You don't know him.
It's just an act.

That was an act?

He's sneaky! He's laying
for me. Gonna set me up.

Friday's drill. That's when it's
gonna happen, Friday's drill.

Okay, we have time to go
over the drill before dinner.

Marco, clean off the blackboard.

Why me, Cap?

Cap, that's not... That's crazy!

[ALL CHATTERING]

MARCO: Let's face it,
we have a crazy Captain.

[STANLEY YELLING]

Wait a minute, he's yelling.

Yeah, Cap, we're coming.

STANLEY: All right,
everybody knows what you're doing, right?

John, you're going to be
handling the tip up here.

Roy, the base of the ladder,
assisting 28.

Chet, Marco,
around the corner with a two-and-a-half.

John, watch that ladder,
it can be tricky. Be sure you lock in.

Right, cap-

STANLEY: Yeah. Any questions? All right,
let's go.

Stoker,
charge the ladder pipe. Charging the line!

[ENGINE ROARING]

Captain seems a little nervous,
don't you think?

[LAUGHS]
What makes you think that?

Locked off? Okay.

Chief.

[BLASTING]

[WATER GUSHING]

Mike, shut it off!

STANLEY: Kelly,
you okay? You okay, pal? Okay?

CHET: Yeah. How's your shoulder?

I think it's just bruised.

ROY: Hang on, let me
check you out here.

You get the wind knocked out
of you? Is he going to be okay?

Let me check. Tell me
if this hurts. Is he okay?

I think he's better now
than before the accident.

Okay, let's get back to work,
see to that hose.

How's your man? Kelly, isn't it?

Yes, sir,
I think he's going to be fine, Chief.

Chief,
I take full responsibility for this.

Oh, we all have equipment
failures. Nothing to apologize for.

Sure you're all right, Kelly?

Yeah, Chief.

Okay, let's get that hose
fixed and continue the drill.

Sir.

You know, this was one of the most
spectacular hose breaks I ever saw.

I'm really sorry
about the hose, Cap.

I know how much you wanted this
first drill with the Chief to be perfect.

It wasn't your fault there.

Well, maybe you guys will feel
better after some of this stew.

Johnny found the recipe
in a magazine.

Now, we're really in trouble! The only
magazine he reads is Wheels and Gears.

Hey, Cap,
I wouldn't worry too much about it.

It's like McConnike said,
equipment failures happen to everybody.

Yeah,
I thought he was really decent about that.

He could have
really chewed us out.

But he didn't. See?

Cap, you said he was gonna set you
up at the drill on Friday, and he didn't.

Now you begin to understand, I hope,
just how sneaky McConnike can be!

Why? You mean because
he didn't set you up Friday?

Almost genius.

Of course, I didn't just fall off of
the turnip truck either, you know.

I'm gonna figure it out. I'm gonna
figure out how he's gonna get me.

I'll figure it out.
I'll figure it out.

Phew!

[ALARM SOUNDING]

DISPATCHER ON RADIO: Station 51.
Unknown type rescue at the skating rink.

1120 Reno Boulevard.

Cross street, Olympia.
Time out, 1240.

Station 51. KMG 365.

[ENGINE STARTING]

[SIRENS WAILING]

Oh, boy.

What a mess!

What happened?

Well, those two clowns
started fighting with each other

and we tried to break it up,
but a couple of girls got banged up.

Oh. We're gonna need some help out there,
Cap.

Chet, Marco,
go on out there with him.

I'll get some salvage covers out here
before you guys all break your necks.

Okay.

Ma'am, is your elbow all right?

Oh, yeah, it's just a little
bruised. I'll be all right.

Maybe you guys better take care
of the ladies over there, all right?

Okay. MARCO: Okay,
Roy, thank you.

Watch it, watch it.

SKATER: Robin, you go there
with Lucy and Maggie and help Sam.

You two, keep
these two guys apart.

Okay. All right.

How you doing? What
seems to be the problem?

I don't know.

Nothing's wrong with you?

That idiot cracked me
a good one.

Okay, well,
maybe we'll check you out there.

I think my arm's busted.

Yeah, well, okay.

Did you fall down?

CLOWN: Yeah.

What have you got, Marco?

Well,
it looks like a possible fractured ankle.

Hey, Chet,
how you doing over there?

Possible concussion,
possible fractured ankle,

I'm going to check
the other girls here.

[GRUNTS]

Johnny? Yeah.

You might check...

Yeah.

Chet, too.

Yeah.

All right.

You Okay?

Yeah, I'm all right.

All right.

Okay, just take it easy.

Haven't got enough
to reach, Cap.

Well,
throw what you got out there, then.

You know, I don't think you have a broken
arm at all. I think it's just a sprain.

Did you hear that?
It's just sprained.

It's sprained. It'll put me
out of action for the show.

Oh, well...

If I'm out, he's out, too.

Yeah, well,
I don't think... Oh, yeah?

Come on, let's get up.
Let's go at it again.

Come on, fellows,
let's not go through this again.

Come on, fellows,
let's not go through this again.

[ALL GRUNTING]

"The chief engineer may suspend a
member for... Not to exceed 30 days..."

"Pending investigation, filing of charges,
or hearing on discharge."

Oh, dear God.

"Inspection..."

Psst!

[STANLEY MUTTERING]

Don't bother him. He's
trying to memorize the manual.

"A
hinges and sectional...
should be inspected for..."

It's all right.
"And loose nuts tightened,

"any loose..."
Oh, that's all right.

"Guide rollers..."
Guide rollers.

[INHALES]

I'll be okay.
It's okay, it's okay.

[STANLEY MUTTERING]

I think he's flipping out on us.

"Vertical tracks secure..." Yeah,
that's all right, it's all right.

No problem at all.
Can't get me on the...

He's bananas. I tell you,
he's going bananas.

[ALARM SOUNDING]

DISPATCHER ON RADIO: Station 51. Freeway
accident at the Orange Street off-ramp.

Orange Street off-ramp.
Time out, 1618.

STANLEY: Squad 51. KMG 365.

[SIRENS WAILING]

[HORN BLARING]

STANLEY: Hey,
Vince. VINCE: Hey. We got a nasty one, Cap.

Driver says the truck's
loaded with pesticides.

We've got the freeway
blocked off a mile each way.

What about the people
in the car?

I don't know. We haven't
been able to get in.

Okay, Marco, check for
leaking gas over there.

Chet, grab a ladder,
see if we can get into that car from above.

I'm going to find out
exactly what's in that truck.

You're the driver, right?

Yeah.

I called in for help,
then passed out. I feel dizzy.

Looks like you took a little
bump on your head, there.

Yeah. We'll check you out.

I was driving down the road...

Rampart, this is County 51... and all
of a sudden there was this big crash.

JOE ON RADIO: Go ahead, 51.

Drove my rig into
that wall over there.

Rampart, we have a male...

Felt like a
freight train hit me.

Car must have come
off that overpass up there.

Crazy drivers.

He's the driver.

You're carrying pesticides in there,
right?

That's right. What kind?

He's complaining of dizziness.

I don't know what kind.
All kinds.

You got a manifest in there?

No.

Pulse is 86.

LA Engine 51 at scene.

Request another ambulance,
first alarm assignment.

Have one engine standby
the hydrant down the street.

We have unknown pesticides
involved here. How about it?

Oh, Cap, when the car
penetrated the roof of this truck,

it kinked these bars and I
can't get it open. It's jammed.

It looks like a
can of tuna. Yeah.

Kelly, what about it?

Cap, we put any
pressure on this roof,

that car is gonna go
right on through.

Any signs of life in there?

Yeah, I heard some moans.
I think they're alive.

I think there's at least
two of them in there.

Come on down.

[DISPATCHER CHATTERING ON RADIO]

Let's go with the jaws. We're going
with the jaws, Chet. Give Marco a hand.

All right.

[AMBULANCE SIREN WAILING]

MAN: I'll check up
underneath the rig, Mike.

ROY: Cap, anybody inside?

Well, Chet heard some moans up there,
so somebody's alive.

You gonna cut through the side?

I was thinking about it,
but there's too many stress points.

We could lose the car.

Chet says we can't get on the roof,
these bars are jammed back here,

so the only thing we can do is to
cut through these doors with the jaws.

All right.

Get her going.

All right.

Kelly, check for gas leaks
again. We don't want a fire.

ROY: I'll start her up
when you're ready.

JOHNNY: All right.

Hey, Marco!

We've got a gasoline leak here. It's
not diesel, so it's got to be from the car.

Go tell the Cap.

I'll get you to start it up.

Cap, found gas leaking from the car,
it's not diesel.

That's all we need.

Okay, get an inch-and-a-half.
Start washing it down.

Kelly, need a couple of air
masks and a stretcher over here.

[PUTTERING]

[WHIRRING]

[MEN CHATTERING]

[MOTOR POWERING DOWN]

[GRUNTING]

That's one.

Hang on. Wait a minute,
wait a minute.

That thing won't move, see.

All right.

Cap?

That's what we need!

I'm afraid to
put water in there.

We don't know what it
will do with the pesticides.

We could hit some loose powder
and cause a dust expl*si*n.

Yeah, what happens
if that burns?

If it burns, we get toxic fumes.

Kelly, get an inch-and-a-half,

but we won't use it unless
we absolutely have to.

[SIREN WAILING]

[BREATHING HEAVILY]

Johnny, this door's stuck.

Could you give me a hand?

Okay, Cap-

All right, we've got... We've
got two passengers in there.

Two young girls,
they're both alive,

but it's really
getting close in there.

Okay, the pesticides, they're all
in bags and they're all ripped up.

We've got gasoline leaking and I think
the smoke is coming from the burning wires.

Okay,
got any toxic fumes that you know of?

So far, no.

Okay. We'll hold off
on the water, then.

How about the jaws?
You need them?

No, we got the
door open ourselves.

How about some help
with the victims?

Not in here,
but we will out here.

Okay, you got it. Okay.

Vince, we could
use a hand over here.

Bring those two ambulance
attendants with you.

[sums]

[GRUNTING]

Got her? Yeah.

Okay.

I'm gonna need a minute.

Let me get my arm
up underneath. Okay.

Let me know when you got her.

I got her. Okay, easy now.

You got her leg?

Yeah, just a sec.

Got them? Yeah.

All right, good deal.

JOHNNY: Let me set her down.

[GRUNTING]

Get her in the harness.

Got a bad left arm here, Johnny.

Okay,
do you want to get the suitcase out first?

Uh...

You got her okay?

I think so. I think
we can drag her out.

Okay.

I'll see if I can pass her through
here. Can you get her through there?

Watch her left arm.

Just a sec.

If you can get on the other side of her,
I got her.

Can you swing your leg over
and I'll hold her here?

Yeah.

Okay.

Okay_ Okay?

Okay, Johnny.

JOHNNY: Watch her arm. She's
got a possible broken left arm.

Okay. All right, let's go.

All right, Los Angeles County,
let's knock it down! Knock it down!

Got a pulse of 70
over here on Victim 1.

Okay.

All right,
pulse is 62 over here.

Rampart, this is County 51,
how do you read?

Read you loud and clear, 51.

Rampart,
we have two automobile accident victims.

Both have sustained
numerous cuts and bruises.

Johnny, got a fracture over here,
upper left arm.

They have inhaled
pesticide fumes

from several different forms
of agricultural pesticides.

Victim 1 appears
to have a broken arm.

Go ahead with Victim 1.

Got a pulse of 72 on her.

Okay.

LA Engine 51,
cancel first alarm assignment.

DISPATCHER ON RADIO: Engine 51.

All units responding
with Engine 51, cancel.

Henry, come on,
get in your new home, buddy.

Henry, look at this.

Come on, Henry, you can have a
nice new bone here in your new home.

Come on, Henry,
get in here, will you?

Chet, why don't you just
give up on that doghouse?

Hey, why don't you go back
to your potatoes, chump?

How are the two girls?

Oh, they had
a pretty rough go of it,

but it looks like
they're gonna be okay.

Cap, you're not going to believe this,
but I think...

I think the pesticide
saved their lives.

They were in bags,
right? I think it cushioned the impact.

ROY: Yeah, you know, Engine 51
really put their backs into this one.

I'd say it's
maximum performance.

And you called all those
sh*ts right on the money.

That's nice of you to say.

What's nice?
I'm talking about McConnike.

What? Is he here? Is he here?

[LAUGHING] Cap, Cap,
can you just settle down?

Cap, when he hears about this,

he's going to realize what a
good captain you really are.

Listen,
I don't think you have to worry about him.

I think he's gonna
know how you perform.

That's 'cause you still don't
understand how the man's mind works.

He's gonna think
this was a fluke.

Now he is really
gonna be laying for me,

because now he's
gonna think I'm cocky!

All right, Henry,
I'm gonna show you one more time.

Now...

Wait. Easy there.

[GROWLING]

No, Henry. Uh-uh.

[GROWLING]

Come on, Henry. Come on,
Henry. Come on, come on.

Come on, buddy. Come on,
Henry. That's a boy.

[GROWLING] Now, Henry...

Okay. Now, Henry,
you've got to move...

All right, now move over.

Now, wait a minute, Henry.

Whoa!

You bum, give me that bone.

Come here.

[GROWLING]

Come on.
