♪ With Dog ♪ And Sheep ♪ And Duck ♪ And Pig

♪ There's always a surprise! ♪

(barks)

KIDS: Word World!

(croaks)

(whimpers)

(giggles)

NARRATOR: On this fine day in Word World,

(laughing)

Frog...

and Pig...

were having fun in the playground.

(grunts)

Look at me, Frog.

I'm swingingso high.

Look, Pig, I'm swinging even higher.

(croaks)

Watch how fast I can slide.

Watchme, Frog.

I can slide down even... ulp!

(yelps)

...faster.

I can bounce you high.

(croaks)

I can bounce you higher.

Highest.

Whooooa!

(gasps)

(croaks)

Mystery Island.

I just saw Mystery Island.

Really?

Where?

Wow, that looks so...

cool!

Oh! Ow! Ow!

Frog, we should go to Mystery Island.

Great idea, Pig.

Hmm.

I bet I can get there pretty fast.

Bet I can get there faster.

(giggles)

I'll race you to Mystery Island.

You're on.

(music playing)

Welcome to the first-ever race to Mystery Island.

Racing today are our good friends, Pig and Frog.

Okay, guys, gather up your letters.

And remember, you can both build words

during the race to help you go faster.

Okay.

On your marks...

Get set...

Go!

(imitates trumpet fanfare)

(panting)

Frog!

I said go!

First, I've got to build something

to help me carry my letters.

I'll need a wagon.

W-A-G-O-N.

KIDS: Wagon!

Mystery Island, here I come.

Good luck, Frog.

He's gonna need it.

(panting)

Whew.

(croaks) I'm going to get to Mystery Island first.

Go, Frog, Go!

Yay, Pig!

Oh. So heavy.

It looks like a certain Pig is starting to fall behind.

(panting)

Well... it's not my fault...

Look how short my legs are.

(sputtering)

Oh...

Oh, no!

You know, you could go faster

if you build a word to help you.

Great idea, Bear.

Well, here's a "B."

Hmm. What can I make with it?

(laughing)

(gasps)

I'll build a bike.

KIDS: Bike!

(laughs)

Sweet!

(grunts)

Mystery Island, here I come!

Go, Pig, go!

(panting)

Mystery Island,

here... I... come.

(croaks)

(bike bell tinkles)

Hello, Frog.

I mean, so long, Frog.

See you at Mystery Island.

(laughing)

(panting)

Pig was having a hard time riding his bike up the hill,

and Frog wasn't having an easy time either.

But I'm not... giving... up

till I get to Mystery Island.

Me... neither.

You know, if you worked together,

you'd have an easier time.

No way.

I'm gonna get to Mystery Island... first

all by myself.

Huh!

Not if I get there first.

Well, we made it to the top of the hill.

(laughs)

We're almost to Mystery Island.

Yeah!

No!

Wait!

See ya, Frog.

Whoa!

Ooh, too fast.

Too fast!

Whoa, whoa, whoa!

(yelling)

Ooh!

Ohh...

Wait!

Wagon!

Please stop!

Ahh!

(frightened croak)

Hmm?

NARRATOR: Frog, are you all right?

I'm fine. (croaks)

I just need to build something else

to help me get to Mystery Island.

Something... fast and strong.

like... a truck!

Hmmm.

"Tr... uck."

T... R...

U... C...

K.

KIDS: Truck!

(croaks)

An "O." Hmm.

I'll keep this just in case.

Mystery Island, here I come.

(groaning)

Oh...

Pig? Are you okay?

Huh? Oh, sure.

Well, you know what they say.

When the going gets muddy, that's when pigs get going.

Huh? Well...

Truck?!

See you at Mystery Island, Pig!

(sputtering)

(grunting)

Whoa! Whoa-oa!

Oof.

Oh. Hi, Dog.

Dog!

I need your help.

I need to build something faster

than Frog's truck so I can get to Mystery Island

and win the race!

Something like, um...

Uh...

(barking)

(growling)

A car?

Hmm.

Ooh. Aha!

Can I borrow some of your letters, Dog?

(barks twice)

Thank you.

KIDS: Car!

Sweet again! (laughs)

Hmm, I'd better bring along this letter "B" just in case.

Well, you never know when you might need a spare letter.

So long, Dog!

I'm off to Mystery Island!

(whistling)

(gasps, croaks): Huh?

See you at Mystery Island, Frog!

(laughs)

(coughing)

(grunts, grumbles)



(humming)

Let's build a...

Huh? Whoa!

Huh?

(groans): Oh...

Hmm...

Look!

Mystery Island is way over there!

I can't drive my truck across the water.

And I can't drive mycar across the water.

Hmm, how am I gonna get to Mystery Island?

How amI going to get there?

I need a boat.

Huh!I need a boat.

Oh, no, I don't have all the letters

to build a boat.

Oh! Me, neither!

NARRATOR: You know, maybe if you worked together,

as a team, and used the letters

that you already have, youcou build a boat!

That's true.

Yeah!

Well, I have the letter "B."

And I have the letter "O."

And I have the letter "A."

And I have the letter "T"!

Ha-ha! Well, what are we waiting for, Frog?

(musical intro plays) Let's...

build a word! Build a word!

♪ Let's build it, let's build it now! ♪

Buh-oat.

KIDS: Boat!

BOTH: ♪ Yeah, we just built a word

♪ We built it, we built it.

(croaks and laughs)

NARRATOR: Now, that's teamwork.

BOTH: Mystery Island, here we come.

(all cheering)

Oh, this is so exciting.

Way to go, guys.

I won.

I won.

(laughs)

BOTH: We won.

NARRATOR: Sometimes the best way to win a race is as a team.

(excited chatter)

KIDS: Pig!

Hey, everyone.

You're just in time for the Rhyming Square Dance.

And after, we'll all go on a hayride.

(all grunting, music stops)

DUCK (gasps): Oh, no.

Um... where's the cart, Pig?

(gasps): The cart.

Oh, we broke the cart.

We can't go on a hayride without a cart.

Well, what are we going to do?

We still have the letters.

We just need to... (music playing)

ALL: Build a word!

KIDS: Cart!

(Pig laughs)

(cheering)

(Pig laughing)

ALL: Stage!

♪ Though I may stammer ♪

ALL: Stuh!

ANT: Okay, backstage, everyone.

Let's get our costumes on, let's go.

(Sheep humming)

(sighs)

What a beautiful voice you have, Sheep.

How do you remember all those words?

W-Well, Duck, I...

All right, everybody,

take your places.

We have to practice for the show tonight.

ALL: Yes, sir.

And hit it, bugs.

(gasps)

Sheep, Sheep!

(grunts)

(exclaiming dizzily)

Ooh, what's the matter, Sheep?

Well, uh, well, you see...

I think I've sprained my hoof.

(gasps): You need a cast!

Pig, quick!

(frantic gasping)

Oh... well, thank you.

Uh, but, uh, well,

I don't think I'll be able to be in the show.

(loud gasp)

But if you can't be in the show,

we'll have to... (gulps)

...cancel it.

What?! We can't cancel the show.

Maybe someone can take Sheep's place.

Don't be ridiculous, Pig.

No one can take Sheep's place.

I can take Sheep's place.

is my favorite song.

Eh, I'm not so sure, Duck.

We've never even heard you sing.

Sing? (clears throat)

♪ Quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack. ♪

See? I sing like a bird.

Well, um, can you dance?

Dance?

(grunting)

♪ Hee-hee-hoo.

See?

Well, uh, well, if you want my opinion,

I think Duck can do it.

Okay, if Sheep says Duck can do it,

I say we let Duck do it.

Ah-huh! Goody, goody, goody, goody.

♪ I'm going to be a star.

♪ I'm going to be a star! (quacks)

NARRATOR: That night, everyone got ready for the big show.

And all of Duck's friends gathered to hear him

sing "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star."

(all chattering excitedly)

(gasps)

Why is everyone sitting out there?

That's the audience, Duck.

Audience? (gulps)

No one said anything about an audience.

Well, who did you think would be watching our show?

Well, I'm sure I don't know, Ant,

but I can't go out there with everyone watching.

They're going to laugh at me. (quacks)

You'll be fine, Duck.

Those are your friends out there.

(gulps)

ANT: Psst!

Are you ready, Bugs? Hit it!

(trumpet fanfare)

Ladies and WordFriends,

our super-silly singer of sweet songs, Duck!

(applause, music begins)

(music stops)

(applause stops)

(banjo chord plays)

SHEEP (whispering): Um, Duck...

it's time for you to sing.

(gasps): ♪ ...hippopotamus

♪ How I love your big gray bottamus. ♪

(quacks)

(all laughing uncontrollably)

(laughter continues)

Duck!

What happened?

I couldn't remember the words to the song.

I just said the first thing I saw.

(quacks) I'm sorry.

You know, it's... okay, Duck, you're just a little nervous.

That's perfectly natural.

It is?

Sure. Just remember, the line is

"Twinkle, twinkle, little star," Duck.

Star.

(barks, panting)

Hey! Thatis a good way to remember, Dog.

Star starts with a "stuh" sound.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Just like...

st-age.

And, uh...

st-airs.

And stupendous.

Which is what you will be when you sing the right word.

Ah, of course.

St-ar.

Star. Star. Okay.

Star, star, star. Mm.

Psst! Bugs!

We're ready. Hit it!

(trumpet fanfare)

Ladies and WordFriends,

once again, that silly singer, Duck!

(music begins) NARRATOR: Duck just kept on trying.

(music stops)

(cricket chirping)

Oops. Sorry.

(music resumes)

♪ Twinkle, twinkle, little... ♪

♪ Little...

(crunching loudly)

(gasps): ♪ Ant!

(blows raspberry)

♪ I have purple underpants.

(laughter)

(laughter continues)

Oh, dear.

Poor little Duck.

I'd better go check on him.

Oh, that's it.

I give up.

I thought I could take Sheep's place,

but I can't. (quacking)

(snuffling): I was wrong.

Wrong, wrong! (quacks sadly)

No, you weren't, Duck.

You were absolutely right.

You can do this.

You just have to keep trying.

Don't give up.

But... (sniffling) I see all those faces out there,

and my mind goes all.. (cuckooing, quacking)

all I can do is sing the first thing

that pops up in front of my face.

That's a great idea, Duck.

What's a great idea?

Well, if, uh, Duck needs to see a star

to help him remember, well, why don't we build him a star?

Yeah, a star will help me remember.

Hmm... Can we do that?

Oh, well, of course we can.

You know what that means.

I sure do.

That means it's time to...

Word World needs you.

You're going out there a duck,

NARRATOR: So, Duck kept trying,

and with the help of his friends,

he remembered the word "star."

Psst! Bugs!

Ah, here we go again.

(music begins)

(band continues playing)

♪ Star!

NARRATOR: And finally, he got it right.

♪ How I wonder what you are

♪ Up above the world so high

♪ Like a diamond in the sky

♪ Sheep was hurt, you saved the show ♪
