There's a part here that's all

about ants!

Lots of ants live in big places

called anthills.

Most anthills are made of dirt,

but some also use sticks and

pieces of grass.

ELINOR: Ooh...

OLIVE: Anthills have rooms

for sleeping, rooms for taking

care of babies...

[Babies crying]

...and even special places where

they keep the trash.

Wow!

Is that all happening inside

there?

Yup!

Most of the anthill is

underground.

It's kind of like we're looking

at the roof.

That is so interesting!

But how can these tiny ants

make a hill so much bigger than

them?

Yeah, especially when we

can't even build a pillow

castle, and we're big!

Look, the ants walk in a line,

back and forth from the anthill.

Yeah, some are moving towards

the anthill, but others are

walking away from it.

get things and then they're

bringing them back.

And they aren't bumping into

each other, like when we got

all the cushions from around

Elinor's house.

Yeah, and look!

That ant is having trouble

carrying that stick.

It's so big.

ARI: It got help!

The ants are helping each

other.

More ants means that they can

carry bigger things!

Yeah, I wish someone had

helped me with that big couch

cushion before.

It was really heavy!

Hmm.

Wow, they make the anthill

together.

And they don't fight over the

things they bring!

Helping each other is the only

way these tiny ants can build

this amazing anthill.

They also share their

building material.

We didn't do that.

We tried to build too many

things and we ended up taking

from each other, instead of

helping each other.

our castle!

little workers take care of

their mother.

She's called the queen ant.

Does she get to wear a crown?

No, but she gets to spend all

day with her helpful children.

ARI: All those ants are

brothers and sisters?

They are one very big family!
