The Tale of Mum's Precious Things.

Come on, slowcoaches.

Whoa!

Peter, are you all right?

[chuckles] I'm okay.

What's all this junk doing out here?

[sniffs] Ugh! What's that smell?

Oi, you little thieves,
leave my stuff alone! [growls]

Sorry, we didn't know it was yours,
Tommy Brock.

We didn't touch anything.

Well that's not quite true,

I did touch a pan, but only for a second.

-Argh!
-And I'll stop talking now.

We weren't going to take anything.

Oh, yeah? Think you can fool me?

Yes, usually we do.

-Why, you little-- Come here!
-[all screaming]

[groans] And don't come back! Oh!

Peter?

How did you know it was me?

[laughs] Moms know everything.

Listen, today is Ginger and Pickles'
Annual Giveaway.

We need to find things we don't need
that someone else might find useful.

I haven't got anything I don't need.

What about that old feather
and stone and that jar of yours?

What? But I love them!

You haven't played with them in a while.
Maybe someone else could use them.

All right, I'll see
if I can find them. [sighs]

[sighs]

Peter, sad?

This is the stuff
mom wants me to give away.

-Whoa!
-My best skimming stone!

-Plunk! Plunk! Plunk!
-[giggles] Yay!

Whoo!

The owl feather I got
when I escaped from Old Brown!

Whoo!

[Cotton-Tail continues giggling]

-Whoo!
-Yay!

[giggles, blowing air]

And the jar I keep them in.

I know I don't play
with them much anymore,

but they're still
some of my favorite things.

[laughing excitedly]

Maybe I can find something else
to give away.

Here. Here. Oh.

Hmm.

Oh, what about here? Ah.

Nothing.

There must be something.

Peter?

Give away?

[laughs] I think mom's going to want to
keep this, Cotton-Tail.

-Okay.
-Pah. Wait a minute.

What's this?

No one will miss this old junk.

It's perfect!

-Hi!
-Hello, Peter.

Here are some things for the Giveaway.
Have a good day!

-Thank you, Peter.
-[exclaims]

Ah. Mmm?

Oh. [sighs]

Mom, what are you looking for?

Uh, Peter, you haven't seen my box
of precious things, have you?

Precious things? I don't think so.

I had it right here, an old box.

An ornament
your father bought one Christmas,

the first card he ever sent me
and his best walking stick.

They were old,
but they were very special to me.

[gasps] Oh, no.

Where did I put them?

Peter, could you look upstairs?

Peter?

[grunts]

[sighs]

[footsteps approaching]

-Peter?
-[stuttering] My box of things!

They were very popular.

In fact, they're all gone.

But I need them back!

Oh, dear.

Well, we have a list of who took what,
if that helps.

Thank you.

[scoffs] Silly rabbit.

First he gives us something
then he wants it back!

Come now, Pickles,

don't be a grumpy hound.

Hmm.

-[all groan]
-Ouchie.

What's the rush, Peter?

I accidentally gave away
my mom's most precious things!

Now, I'm going to get them back.

Just let us drop our stuff off
and then we'll help.

I'll do it!

-All done.
-[Pickles] Aw! Who threw that?

Okay. First stop is Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle.

She took the walking stick.

Let's hop to it!

-Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle! Whoa!
-Ooh!

Spindles and spiders' webs!

Oh, dear!

Gosh, and there was me thinking
me dancing days were done.

[giggles]

Sorry, Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle,

but may I have that walking stick
you got from the shop?

It was my dad's,
and I shouldn't have given it away.

That old stick?

Of course you may, Peter.

I was only using it to b*at the dust
from me rug.

A clean rug makes a clean-- Oh…

Oh, well polish my spines.

Oh, I'm sure I left it right here.

-Someone must've taken it.
-Oh, no!

[Lily] A-ha!

Paw prints…

Someone was here all right.

But why would they steal
an old walking stick?

I don't know.

But let's find the card and the ornament.

We better hurry
before someone takes them too.

Okay. So who's got the ornament?

Mmm. The ornament was here
a few minutes ago.

I hung it next to the spoon
to make a wind chime.

-It made the prettiest music.
-[all exclaim]

[vocalizing]

Whoa!

First the walking stick goes missing,

and, now, the ornament!

Hmm, the same paw prints as before.

It must be the same thief!

We still have to find the card.

[gasps] Jeremy Fisher has it!

I just hope the thief
doesn't get there first.

Most peculiar!

-[Lily] Mr. Fisher!
-Mr. Fisher!

The card you took from the Giveaway…

[both] Do you have it? Huh?

Do you have it?

Oh, I say! [croaking]

I only turned my back for a moment,

and… it vanished.

Terrible shame,

I was going to use it as a sunshade.

I don't believe it!

It's true!

Frogs get sunburn, too, you know.

[stammering] Oh, I didn't mean--
Oh, never mind.

[Lily] Look!

The same large paw prints!

Who would want to take some old junk?

[both gasp]

[both] We know who!

We do?

Hey, wait for me!

[chuckles excitedly]

Tommy Brock took your mom's stuff!

Well, that's that.

I guess you just have to tell your mom
we couldn't get them back.

-Whoa!
-No way, a good rabbit never gives up!

I'll grab it when he's not looking.

Get ready to run!

Peter, it's too dangerous!

Have you got a better idea?

What if we try to explain what happened?

Just in case pocket, just in case!

How does blowing your nose help?

We tie this to a stick
to make a white flag.

you only want to talk.
