- Get it, norville.

- [Barking]

- Uh-oh.

[Bell ringing]

- Hi. That's a tricky tricycle.

We made it with my magic stick.

'Cause today all the magic words

Start with the letters "t" and "r."

Together they sound like "tr."

So we can use words like tricky and tricycle.

[Bell ringing]

I think we're gonna have to trick the tricky tricycle.

- Huh?

- We'll pretend we don't want to ride on it.

We'll just stand here and play...

Here we are, playing triangles.

We don't want to ride on that tricycle.

- Nuh-uh. [Bell ringing]

[Triangles chiming]

[Bell ringing] - now, norville.

I get to deliver my very first piece of mail.

[Giggles] uh, I mean, uh...

[Clears throat]

Here's your card, mr. Swamp monster sir.

Okay, thanks, bye, gotta go, go, go.

- Oh, that's my little four-year-old niece,

Marsha of the marsh.

- Hi, uncle stan.

- Oh, a talking card.

- Aw, she's so cute.

[Chuckles] what a great kid.

- Wow, stan never smiles.

He must really like his niece.

- Guess what? I'm coming to visit this afternoon.

- [Gasps] you hear that?

Marsha is coming to visit me.

This is fantastic.

- I can't wait to play with you.

Bye, uncle stan.

- Oh, no.

This is horrible.

- What's wrong, stan?

Don't you want to see your niece?

- Of course I do, but she wants to play.

I don't know how to play.

- What? - Huh?

- You don't know how to play?

What do you do all day?

- I sit in my mud,

Stir my mud,

Read my newspaper.

I like stories about mud.

- Stan, we can teach you how to play.

Norville and I play all the time.

Right, norville?

- [Barks]

Well, I do want marsha to have a good time when she visits.

Alright. Let's see what this "play" thing is all about.

- Yes! Okay. Hmm.

Where's a good place to teach stan how to play?

- Hmm?

- Oh, I know. The playground.

- [Barking]

- What's a "playground"? Never heard of it.

- Don't worry. We'll show you.

- [Barking] to the playground!

- This is the playground, stan.

Both: play! - [Barking]

- Or go down the slide.

- Or play on the monkey bars.

- [Barking]

- [Grunting]

- Um, why aren't you sliding?

- Swamp monsters are very sticky.

- Okay, sliding's not your thing.

But don't worry,

There are lots of other things you can play.

You're going to love this.

We'll play in the sandbox.

- [Barking] woo-hoo. Yeah.

- A mud box would be better.

- Hmm.

What are fun things to play with in the sand?

Maybe we can make a toy truck or a car.

We'll make stan a truck.

There you go, stan. A truck to play with.

- I'll try.

- I'll make us some too, norville.

- Oh yeah.

Hey, stan, you having fun playing with your truck?

- Not really.

The horn doesn't work.

The steering wheel's too small.

- Stan, you're not supposed to get on the truck.

- You're not? Wah! Oof.

I don't like playing in the sand.

[Clears throat]

- Okay, you already tried playing on that and that,

And you didn't want to play on that.

Hmm. We need something else for stan to play on.

Magic stick, give me a word.

Whoa. Big word.

Hey, stan, do you know what that word is?

- Trampoline.

- Oh, yeah, trampoline starts with "tr,"

So we can make a trampoline!

[Both cheering]

- Look, stan.

- [Grunts]

- After that flying swamp monster!

- [Barking]

- We need another trampoline!

- Whoa!

- We need a lot of trampolines for stan to bounce on, norville.

- Ooh. Maybe we can make a path of trampolines...

Let's make stan a trampoline trail.

And telling her not to come.

- Gina, we're trying to teach stan how to play,

So he can play with his niece, marsha.

- She's very nice.

- But he's having a little trouble.

- I'm feeling frustrated.

- Oh, I got it.

- Runaway baby! After him! - [Barking]

- [Screaming]

- [Sighs] we've got to save stan!

Ooh, good thing grandpa has a magic stick.

And tell her not to come.

- I have a message to send my niece, marsha.

- What? Oh, that's too funny.

I have a message from marsha for you.

Here it is, got to go, go, go.

- Hi, uncle stan. I'll be there really soon.

And then we can play.

I'm so excited.

- [Gasps] she's coming soon.

But I still don't know how to play.

[Sighs]

Well, there's only one thing to do.

- Keep trying?

- No. Hide in my swamp and never come out.

- Aww.

- [Barks] aww.

- Come on, stan. We have to keep trying.

- I told you, I can't play. Go away.

All: [gasps]

- Why did everyone just go [gasps]?

- Hey, stan, why is there a train on your head?

- Oh, this old thing?

Yeah, I had a lot of trains when I was a kid.

- So if you played trains as a kid,

Then you can play trains with marsha.

- But I didn't play with the trains.

I just liked to push them around

And go "choo-choo, choo-choo."

- Stan, that is playing.

- Is it? Really?

- Yeah.

We found something stan can play.

Trains.

- Woo-hoo! - Yeah!

- Alright!

- But I only have one train.

And it's really old.

And broken.

- Wait. Train. Tr...ain. Train.

Stan, we can make you a new train.

- Whoa! There's an engine and a boxcar.

[Laughing]

[Laughter]

- I'm really glad you came to visit today.

- Me too, uncle stan.

And maybe later, we can play house?

- Oh, sure can.

[Laughter]

- I made up a song about my pet, flibberflug.
