[all] Word Party!

[narrator] ♪ The party's just begun

There's a word
For what we're gonna have

-♪ And that word is fun
-N ho!

-[all] ♪ Word Party
-[narrator] Everyone

-[all] ♪ Party!
-[narrator] The word is fun!

We're the babies
You're the big kids

Teach us all the words you know
Ready, set, let's go!

-[all] ♪ Word Party
-[narrator] The party's just begun

There's a word
for what we're gonna have

[all] ♪ And that word is fun!

Word Party!

[happy munching]

[narrator] The babies
are finishing up their breakfast.

Yum, num, num! How's it going there, Kip?

Just one more bite, Tilly.

OK, here comes the bubble train.

Chugga, chugga, choo-choo!

Whoa! Oh.

Missed me!

Uh, sorry.

It's hard to feed Tilly.

[narrator] With little babies,
you have to be patient

and try to understand what they want.

I think Tilly's telling you
what she wants right now.

What? No more peas, Tilly?

[laughs] OK, we're done here.

Bubble train is backing up.

Chugga, chugga, choo-choo!

-[boing]
-[all gasp]

Bubble train has left the station.

[all laugh]

Hi, Clickety Clock!

What time is it, big kids?

[ding]

[big kids] Time to go outside!

[all] Yay!

[yelling]

[Bailey] Outside, come on!

Come, big kids, let's go outside!

Oh, hey, wait for Lulu!

[Lulu] They're so pretty.

-Hi, butterfly.
-[Franny] Hello.

-Oh, no!
-Butterfly!

Come back, butterfly!

Tilly! Let's play.

Oh, wait, you're going to play with Tilly?

But I wanted to.

I had a really good game all picked out.

I was going to play a game with her.

-[all talking]
-[Bailey trumpets]

Um, well...

Everybody could have a turn.
But who should go first?

-I'm first.
-Oh, me!

-Me, me!
-I could go. I could go.

Uh, maybe Kip?

Yes!

Oh well, Kip did ask first.

-But I'm next.
-Then me.

We could play musical instruments!
Woo-hoo!

Yes! Oh, boy, I...
Oh. Forgot Tilly.

-Hey, Lulu, let's race to the playground.
-Oh, yeah!

-You coming, Bailey?
-No thanks.

I think I'll just sit here
under my favorite tree.

Last one to the playground
is a rotten egg!

No, no, wait. You're the rotten egg!

[happy music playing]

♪ I'm happy to be
Sitting under a tree ♪

♪ Watching the clouds roll by ♪

♪ I look up and see
Birdies waving at me ♪

♪ Under an apple sauce sky ♪

♪ I'll giggle and wiggle
And trumpet my trunk ♪

♪ So happy, I let out a sigh ♪

Ahh!

♪ Glad to be by myself
With my dreams flying high ♪

♪ A sweet honeybee
Is a-buzzing at me ♪

♪ As butterfly wings flutter by ♪

[drums playing]

Oh. I've never heard
drumming like that before.

What are Kip and Tilly playing?

[drumming continues]

That music is coming from over...
[gasps]

[Kip humming]

Kip! You can't use Tilly as a drum.

Oh? But she likes it, right, Tilly?

-[Tilly giggles]
-She's nodding her head.

So that means "yes" in Mandarin.

It's fine.

Shì!

But Kip...

Kip, you have to be gentle with Tilly.

She's not a drum.

She's a little baby.

-Oh, well, sorry, Tilly.
-It's my turn.

And I will be very gentle with Tilly.

Would you like to have
a tea party with me, Mrs. Tilly?

Shì!

Walk this way.

[Kip laughs]

[Franny] Oh, why thank you, Mrs. Tilly.

And what wonderful tea you have!

What's that, another cookie?
[chuckles]

I shouldn't... but I will.

Oh, don't move, Tilly.

You'll spill the teacups.

-Oh?
-[Franny laughing]

What yummy tea!

Um, Franny, Tilly is not a table.

She's a little baby.

But it's fun, right, Mrs. Tilly?

Shì!

But it's not safe to put cups
and saucers on a little baby.

Oh. I'm sorry, Tilly.

My turn! My turn to play with Tilly.

We play spinny prize game.

Everyone's a winner!

Come on, let's go.

-You like to spin?
-[Tilly cooing]

Oh! Look, Bailey, a butterfly.

[Bailey] Ooh!

[Franny giggling]

[Lulu] Spin, spin, spin.
I spin you, silly!

[Lulu giggling]

Spin, spin...

Lulu, what kind of game
is this spinny prize...

-[Bailey gasps]
-Round and round she goes.

Where she stops, nobody knows!

-[Lulu giggling]
-[Tilly cooing]

[Tilly] Bù!

I don't think Tilly likes this game.

I think she's saying "no" in Mandarin.

Oh, I don't think so.

I think she likes it. She'll win a prize.

-[Tilly cooing]
-One more time!

-Spin!
-[Tilly] Tíng!

Lulu, Tilly is not a spinner.

She's a little baby,
and you have to be gentle with her.

OK, I'll be gentle.

-One more time.
-Tíng!

Um, Lulu,

listen to Tilly, please.

Tíng! Tíng!

Maybe tíng means "spin."

Let's play one more time. Come on.

Lulu, Lulu,
if we don't know what tíng means

then we could always ask...

[both] Word Wally!

[Bailey trumpets]

Oh, there he goes!

[Bailey] Come on, Tilly,
Word Wally will help.

[English accent]
May I have some more, Mr. Wallaby?

[Kip mumbles with mouth full]

Oh, Word Wally.

We're going to Word Wally.

-Oh, OK. Cool.
-Alright.

Oh, wait.
Just one more cookie for the road.

[chuckles]

Come on, big kids. Let's go!

[narrator] The babies are here
to learn words in two languages:

English and Mandarin.

We need to know what Tilly said.

Oh. What's that word, big kids?

-[drum roll]
-[big kids] Yes!

[narrator] And in Mandarin...

Shì!

Shì means yes.

Oh! This is the opposite of yes.
What's that word?

[drum roll]

-[big kids] No!
-[narrator] And in Mandarin...

Bù!

means no.

Oh, I know this one. Yep!

Uh... Nope.

What is this word, big kids?

[drum roll]

-[big kids] Stop!
-[narrator] And in Mandarin...

Tíng!

Tíng means stop?

When you're playing with Tilly

and she yells tíng,

you have to stop.

Oh.

[narrator] It's important
to listen to others,

especially when they want you to stop.

Friends listen to friends.

I so sorry, Tilly.

I didn't know.

I told myself I wasn't going to cry.

[chuckles] This isn't time to cry, Kip.

It's time for a...

[all] Word party!

[happy music playing]

♪ Spin while you spout them
Feel good about them ♪

And it's your turn to shout them ♪

[all cheering]

[cooing]

Peek-a-pop!

[all cackling]

I'll help you, Tilly.

Now, Bailey should get
his turn with Tilly.

Yeah. Would you like that?

-Shì!
-Come on, Tilly.

I've been trying
to read this book all day.

Would you like me to read it to you?

Shì!

"Snailey Goes to the Jungle."

You'll love this one.

He meets a tiger and some pretty birds,

and a monkey.

-[hoots like a monkey]
-[Tilly giggles]

Oh, and look! There's an elephant.

Just like me.
